Here Are The New Orleans Jazz Festival Set Times For 2024

The 2024 New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival is set to begin this Thursday, April 25, with over 100 acts from across a massive spectrum of styles and sounds. Known as Jazz Fest, the festival is one of the longest-running music festivals in the US, stretching from its foundation in 1970 to 2019. After a two-year hiatus due to COVID-19 in 2020 and 2021, it returned in 2022, bigger and better than ever.

The nonprofit organization The New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival and Foundation Inc. puts on the festival every year to redistribute the funds it generates to the local community while it “promotes, preserves, perpetuates and encourages the music, culture and heritage of communities in Louisiana through festivals, programs and other cultural, educational, civic and economic activities.”

The festivities will be held at Fair Grounds Race Course from Thursday to Sunday with a lineup including The Rolling Stones, Foo Fighters, Chris Stapleton, Neil Young and Crazy Horse, The Killers, Hozier, Vampire Weekend, Anderson .Paak & The Free Nationals, Queen Latifah, Jon Batiste, and many, many more, including local acts like Big Freedia, Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue, and Juvenile with Mannie Fresh. New Orleans JazzFest is returning this year, with The Rolling Stones, Foo Fighters, Chris Stapleton, Neil Young & Crazy Horse, The Killers, Queen Latifah, and Hozier set to headline the event. It will run on two different weekends: April 25 to 28 and May 2 to 5.

Vampire Weekend, Big Freedia, Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue, Celebrating Jimmy Buffett with the Coral Reefer Band, and many more will be appearing at the festival, too.

Here’s what to know about getting tickets for those interested in going.

When Do New Orleans JazzFest 2024 Tickets Go On Sale?

Tickets for this year’s New Orleans JazzFest are currently on sale now, with Early Bird pricing available. There are several different passes. General Admission starts at $240 for the 3-Day second weekend pass. There are also 4-Day options for either festival weekend.

The GA+ passes only offer 4-Day weekend options, and these start at $499. It includes private restrooms and beverage stands.

Finally, JazzFest is offering many different VIP packages. The Big Chief VIP ticket starts at $1,700, with access to private viewing areas at the festival, and the option to upgrade for shuttle access. The Grand Marshal VIP pack starts at $1,750, which gives ticketholders access to a hospitality tent and other exclusive perks. Finally, the Krewe of JazzFest option starts at $925.

It’s led by The Rolling Stones, Foo Fighters, Chris Stapleton, Neil Young & Crazy Horse, The Killers, Queen Latifah, and Hozier. New Orleans Jazz Fest 2022 Is Returning With A Monster Lineup Featuring The Who And Foo Fighters

Since 1970, the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival has been a diverse reflection of music and culture in America. With over a dozen stages showcasing artists, chefs, and thinkers alike, the music and arts festival takes over the heart of New Orleans every year. Trouble is, it’s been a few years since the festival has been able to operate as both the 2020 and 2021 editions were cancelled because of conditions surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic. But if there’s anything that New Orleans has proven over time, it’s that the spirit of the city can endure anything and she’ll be ready to host the newly announced monster slate of artists for the 2022 edition, from April 29th to May 8th.

Taking place across two weekends, the primary headliners include The Who, Stevie Nicks, Foo Fighters, Jimmy Buffet, Luke Combs, Lionel Richie, Erykah Badu, The Black Crowes, and Willie Nelson. And that just really scratches the surface of the literally hundreds of acts appearing at the fest this year. There’s a bevy of NOLA staples on the roster like Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue, Big Freedia, The Revivalists, Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Tank & The Bangas, and The Dirty Dozen Brass Band. But there’s also notable acts from across the spectrum like Death Cab For Cutie, Norah Jones, Jason Isbell & 400 Unit, Ziggy Marley playing the songs of Bob Marley, and Kool & The Gang.
