Bizzy Bone Shares New Solo Album “I’m Busy”

Days after appearing to air out his issues with fellow Bone Thugs members with “Bizzy Get’s Busy,” Bizzy Bone has returned with his latest solo project. The rapper came through with I’m Busy earlier this year — an eighteen-song body of work that showcases how music runs in his bloodline. The album doesn’t contain appearances from any Bone Thugs-N-Harmony member but it highlights his two sons, Lil Bizzy and YBL Sinatra, who serve as the only features on the album.

“This is what ya’ll have to look forward to with this one. Nasty production. Lightning speed lyrical Assassins. Real content. True subject matter. Got my sons with me and they did deliver as promised. Very proud of them,” he said of the project in August.

Jenevieve Releases Her Six-Track EP, “Rendezvous”

Jenevieve is an R&B singer on the rise. While she hasn’t been in the industry for that long, her mesmerizing mix of graceful melodies and soul-filled lyrics has allowed her to accomplish a lot. She has been fortunate enough to perform at Sacramento’s Sol Blume music festival and at Los Angeles’ iconic Hollywood Forever Cemetery. Now, she’ll hit the road with esteemed singer, Giveon.

Continuing with her success, the songstress released her new EP, Rendezvous, on Friday, September 9. Equipped with the six tracks, the anticipated body of work showed off Jenevieve’s diversity. From the slow, rhythm-infused songs “CaNdY LiEs” and “MDMA” to the upbeat party record, “2NLuv,” the artist reminded listeners that the upcoming class of women in music have a lot to offer.

Another record on the project was “Love Quotes,” which she released previously. The three-minute song dropped last month and gained a lot of traction, which prompted Jenevieve and her team to create a music video for it. In just two days, it has already garnered nearly 40,000 views.

Listen to the EP in its entirety on the streaming platforms below, and watch the official music video for “Love Quotes.”

Rosalía Drops Off Deluxe Version Of “MOTOMAMI”

Rosalía’s most recent album, MOTOMAMI, was a critical and commercial success. It makes sense, then, that the Spanish artist has returned to the project to create a deluxe version that boasts a whole slew of new songs.

Notably, Rosalía added “Despecha,” a single which she dropped back in July. In typical Rosalía fashion, it’s a banger that doesn’t fit neatly into any genre– a little bit of reggaetón, a little bit of flamenco, a little bit of hip-hop. Also on MOTOMAMI + are the new songs “Aislamiento,” “La Kilié,” “LAX,” and “Chiri.”

The new additions don’t end there. The versatile singer has also included a remix of “Candy,” which now includes a feature from Chencho Corleone, as well as a live version of her hit “La Fama,” which had originally featured The Weeknd. This live version, from Palau Sant Jordi, has an epic opening and sees a flawless vocal delivery from Rosalía.

Check out the deluxe project in its entirety below, and let us know what you think of it in the comments.

Greentea Peng Drops Off Magical 10-Track Mixtape, “GREENZONE 108”

Aria Wells, better known to her fans as Greentea Peng, returned this weekend with a new mixtape consisting of 10 songs created in collaboration with Nat Powers, Jon Mills, MJ Cole and Swindle, and St Francis Hotel.

GREENZONE 108 is a free-flowing, open field of expression,” the 27-year-old shared in a press release. “A collection of works accumulated over a transitional period of my life. An elevation of sorts from MAN MADE, in the sense that so much has changed and formed in the two years since that conception.”

GREENZONE 108 is freer, less formed, and more of an open dialogue/space exploring all different types of topics from spirituality and originality to mental health and politricks, hence why this is a mixtape and not an album.”

In the years since making her debut, Peng has been compared to the likes of Erykah Badu and Amy Winehouse, though she herself has no such hopes of gaining as much public notoriety as they have.

“I have no interest in being a pop star or a household name,” she declared in an interview with The Guardian last year. “As soon as it starts to feel like it’s about anything other than the music, that’s when I’ll take a step back.”

Sampa The Great Shares New Album “As Above, So Below”

Though it’s been three years since Sampa The Great released The Return, she hasn’t left fans empty handed. Over the past few years, she’s dished out several solid guest appearances to hold fans over until kicking off the campaign for her second studio album earlier this year.

Today, she shared As Above, So Below in its entirety. The dense 11-song effort boasts appearances from Denzel Curry, Joey Bada$$, Powers Pleasant, Chef 187, Kojey Radical, Angelique Kidjo, and more. On the production side, Mag44 holds down a significant portion of the record with Sampa also serving as a co-producer on several tracks.

In an interview wth Spin, she explained how this project came from a place of comfort in her career and artistry. “[The album is] more of the focus on why I’m making music and why I love expressing myself through music, versus defending [why I’m] making music and defending who I am,” she explained.

John Legend Shares “LEGEND” Ft. Rick Ross, J.I.D, Jhené Aiko, Ty Dolla $ign, Rapsody, Saweetie & More

Arriving in two acts is John Legend’s eighth studio album, LEGEND. The award-winning singer delivered the R&B, Soul record at the top of New Music Friday (September 9), and it has been a labor of love that was inspired by not only the artists who came before him but his ancestral lineage. In a press release, Legend explained how he has “never [felt] divorced from” his ancestors, and that includes his “musical heritage.”

“I don’t feel like I need to leave it behind to be adventurous, or creative, or to try something new,” said Legend. “When I’m creating something new, I’m still hearing the voices and influences of Stevie, Marvin, Curtis, Aretha, Nina, Donny, and Prince. Black musicians have always been at the forefront of innovation in music.”

“But where I think Hip Hop is always about what’s new, with Soul music, we are a bit more nostalgic,” he continued. “And hopefully, what we’ve been able to do with LEGEND is that synthesis of looking forward, but also connecting with where we come from.”

Features on the record include Rick Ross, J.I.D, Free Nationals, Ty Dolla $ign, Jhené Aiko, Jazmine Sullivan, Saweetie, Jada Kingdom, Muni Long, Rapsody, and Ledisi. Stream John Legend’s latest album LEGEND and share your thoughts.
