RiFF RAFF & Yelawolf Join Forces On “TURQUOiSE TORNADO”

Not long after Yelawolf pledged to deliver an album a week all throughout the month of April, the Slumerican rapper has come through with the first of the bunch. For the occasion, he teamed up with frequent collaborator RiFF RAFF for the seven-track TURQUOiSE TORNADO, a project that features guest appearances from DJ Paul, Paul Wall, and more.

Though the infectious lead single “TiP TOE 4” found the pair hopping back in time for a melodic jaunt in the eighties — one delivered with surprising conviction, at that — there’s plenty of hard-hitting hip-hop to be found across the project. Early cut “HUMAN LAMBORGHiNI” finds Jody and Yela trading bars alongside Danny Swift Garcia, with all three parties putting in work over a sparse and eerie southern banger. In fact, the majority of TURQUOiSE TORNADO seems built around bangers and bars, a quality that should please many longtime fans.

By the time that Yela and RiFF RAFF’s latest closes out over some smoldering Ronny J production, it’s hard not to wish they had a few more tracks tucked away in the cut. It’s fair to say that Yela has gone two for two insofar as collaborative albums are concerned, having only recently wrapped up Blacksheep with Caskey. Should you be looking for some hard-hitting, low-stakes music with plenty of character, look no further than TURQUOiSE TORNADO. And for those who have checked it out already — sound off with your favorite songs below.

Miguel Surprises With Four-Track “Art Dealer Chic Vol. 4” Project

In 2012, Miguel gave the world the first three installments of his Art Dealer Chic series. For years, fans thought that was all they would get from that run, but on Friday (April 9), Miguel surprised the world with Art Dealer Chic Vol. 4. Considering the crooner hasn’t shared a new studio album since 2017’s War and Leisure, the scene was ready for his return.

“I’ve been doing a lot of work to consider and refine my beliefs in the last few years,” Miguel reportedly said in a statement. “Inevitably, this brought me back to Art Dealer Chic, as ADC is more or less a moniker for active mindset curation; choosing the thoughts, emotions, and actions that reflect my truest self instead of letting what I’ve experienced or what is expected of me dictate my choices. As a basic operating system, this mentality has made a profound impact on my life and I want to continue to share how through the music and the conversation around ADC.”

Stream Art Dealer Chic Vol. 4 and let us know your thoughts.

2. Triangle Love

Sauce Walka Drops Off His Latest Solo Project “Birdz Hunt Snakes”

Sauce Walka isn’t playing around in 2021. 2020 included the release of two new collaborative projects, though the last time we received a solo body of work was back in 2019 when he released Ghetto Gospel 2. Walka’s raw delivery and charismatic persona met with the passion in his tone has made him a street favorite, despite his often unpopular opinions. It seems that fans can expect a whole lot more music from him this year.

Earlier this week, Walka shared his latest project, Sauce Train alongside El Trainn and quickly followed it up with his latest solo project, Birdz Hunt Snakes. Laced with 20 songs with a runtime of upwards of an hour, the rapper enlists the likes of Trippie Redd, DaBoii, Sada Baby, and more for assistance on the tracklist. However, a large number of the features on the project are frequent collaborators of Sauce Walka.

Rockie Fresh Taps Vic Mensa, Tobi Lou & More For “Slid Thru Part 2”

Rockie Fresh had a productive 2020, given the circumstances. The former MMG-signee returned with the highly-anticipated sequel to his and Casey Veggies’ joint project and then dropped off a sole effort. For a criminally underrated artist, the rapper show and proved with his project, Slid Thru Just To Show You Whats Up ft. Wale, Arin Ray, 24 Hrs, and more.

The rapper returned with a sequel to the project this weekend titled, Slid Thru Part 2. The rapper’s latest body of work includes 10 songs in total with appearances from Vic Mensa, Tobi Lou, Jeff Kaale, and 24Hrs.

Sauce Walka Drops Off New Project “Sauce Train”

Sauce Walka might be quick to stir up controversy in the rap game, he at least releases music that can back up that type of trash talking. The rapper’s prolific run over the years has been largely done independently without any major backing. Projects like Sauce Ghetto Gospel and its sequel, as well as numerous efforts from the Sauce Twinz, have been done at their own accord.

Sauce Walka emerged this week with the release of his latest body of work, Sauce Train. The rapper’s flamboyant personality shines across the 15-song project as he talks his sh*t, reflects on the streets and celebrates his numerous wins.  Sauce Walka holds down the majority of the project on his own but he does tap artists like Voochie P, Sauce Gohan, and El Trainn for some assistance.

Check the project out below.
