Big Scarr Becomes “Big Grim Reaper” On New Mixtape Featuring Gucci Mane, Pooh Shiesty, Foogiano, & More

Memphis rapper Big Scarr is on pace to become the next artist to blow up from Gucci Mane’s The New 1017 roster. One of the newly-minted SoIcyBoyz, Scarr tells his story through the marks on his face and body. The rising star has had a hard life thus far and he’s got the scars to show it. He’s been following Pooh Shiesty as one of the most exciting young stars to come out of Memphis, and he’s officially releasing his biggest project to date, titled Big Grim Reaper

Representing his clique with passion, Big Scarr comes through with the seventeen-song mixtape Big Grim Reaper, which places a focus on his strong beat selection (shout out to Bandplay), his authentic story, and the rest of 1017’s strong roster. The tape features guest verses from the big boss Gucci Mane, the buzzing Pooh Shiesty, Foogiano, Enchanting, Baby K, and more. Of course, the Memphis riser also locked in with Tay Keith on a few songs to get his sound right.

Kenny Mason Extends 2020’s “Angelic Hoodrat” With An Impressive & Versatile “Supercut”

After months of impressive singles, Kenny Mason has finally returned with Angelic Hoodrat: Supercut. Since earlier this February, the Atlanta artist has been getting fans and listeners ready by dropping off experimental and genre-hopping singles such as “Partments,” “Pup,” “Play Ball,” and “Rih.”

Now, the Angelic Hoodrat himself has dropped the long-awaited Supercut, which serves as a deluxe extension to last spring’s Angelic Hoodrat. The new project arrives on April 16, 2021, almost exactly one year after Angelic Hoodrat landed on April 15, 2020. Supercut, while technically being a deluxe, actually hits steaming services as a project of its own.

Contrary to 2020’s Angelic Hoodrat, Kenny Mason’s deluxe Supercut isn’t an entirely solo outing. The project not only includes guest appearances from other artists; it boasts high-profile contributions from rappers and singers such as Denzel Curry, Freddie Gibbs, Angel White, and Ambar Lucid. At twelve tracks, the deluxe album further exemplifies Kenny’s versatility, expounding on his signature glitchy rap and alternative rock sound with bubbly trap beats, soul sampling lyrical exercises, and smooth, spaced-out melodies.

Check out Kenny Mason’s Angelic Hoodrat: Supercut below and let us know how you’re feeling about the Atlanta artist’s latest release.

Tracklist:

1. 43
2. Rih

Yelawolf & DJ Paul Unite For “Slumafia”

Yelawolf’s goal of one album every week of April may have sounded ambitious on paper, but damned if the rapper isn’t making good on his word. Following last week’s collaborative project with RiFF RAFF, the hard-hitting and sure-to-be-slept on TURQUOiSE TORNADOYela has now joined forces with his longtime collaborator DJ Paul, whose presence inherently invokes shades of Three 6 Mafia. Enter Slumafia, an eight-track effort produced in its entirety by DJ Paul and Twhy Xclusive.

While Yela has previously explored a more melodic direction, a testament to his artistic versatility, Slumafia finds him fixed within his hip-hop bag. Over Paul’s hard-hitting brand of production, Yela showcases a dexterous flow and sharpened lyrical edge. On “Don’t Need A Cup,” he navigates Paul’s somber piano loops with the ease of a veteran. “Tote The Bag” finds Paul and Yela trading verses over eerie synthesizers, while closer “Head Banger” adds Caskey and Pretty Shy to the fray, both of whom bring an additional layer of aggression to the mix.

For those who can appreciate dark, southern-inspired production and a clear focus on lyricism and potent flows, Slumafia is essential listening. So far, Yelawolf is two for two, and we look forward to seeing what week three has in store for the Alabama emcee. Check out his latest drop now, and show some love to DJ Paul for holding it down not only behind the boards, but on the mic.

Taylor Gang’s Fedd The God Drops “Speed Racer”

The Taylor Gang movement is still moving strong, even through a pandemic. Up until 2020, it felt like each member of the crew was either steadily in the lab or on the road but obviously with the current circumstances, that hasn’t been possible in the last year. However, they are still pumping out new music frequently with Fedd The God being the latest to drop. On Friday, the rapper returned with his latest body of work, Speed Racer. The nine-song effort is largely handled on his own with the exception of “Yea Yup” ft. Wiz Khalifa and “Friday” ft. the late Jimmy Wopo.

Serving as his first official body of work since 2019’s Northside Shit, fans will certainly appreciate Fedd The God’s new project. Check it out below.

Sauce Walka Unveils “God Of Texas” Project
