Jalen Hurts is a well-paid man. According to Ian Rapoport, the Philadelphia Eagles and Hurts have agreed to a 5-year, $255 million contract extension. Hurts will now be the highest-paid player in NFL history.

The deal was confirmed by Hurts’ agent Nicole Lynn, grabbing Huts $179.304 million in guarantees and a no-trade clause.

Rap reports he gets $110 million fully guaranteed at signing, the third most ever, and has $126.5 million fully guaranteed by year 2, the second most of all time.

Hurts receives a raise this year, along with a $23.294M signing bonus, and is now under contract with Philly through 2028 on a deal that enables the team to remain intact. The no-trade clause is the first in the history of the franchise.

The Best Footwear Moments From Super Bowl LVII

Super Bowl LVII was eventful. The Kansas City Chiefs won in a tremendous turnover with 24 points in the second half. Rihanna carried out an iconic performance while simultaneously announcing her second pregnancy. Diving deeper into the footwear, there were several noteworthy cleat moments from this Super Bowl.

Starting with Jalen Hurts, the quarterback of the Philadelphia Eagles. Hurts is known for his swaggy style on and off the field. He began the night with Air Jordan 11 cleats in the first quarter of the game. The cleats were predominantly white with both the mudguard and collar coated in “Eagle” green. This is a hue that is identifiable with the Eagles’ signature colors. The Air Jordan 11 is known for its sleek look, with its classic black and white “Concord” style. It was previously worn by Hurts in past games this season. Micheal Jordan also sported the shoe during his time with the Chicago Bulls.

Jalen Hurts’ Air Jordan 11 & Air Jordan 1 Cleats

Hurts then changed into another favored Air Jordan silhouette, the Air Jordan 1, during the second half of the game. Due to the slippery conditions of the field, these were a better alternative for Hurts. The Air Jordan 1 cleat was dressed in the same green, black, and white colorway as the Air Jordan 11 cleat. In true Eagle style, of course.

Patrick Mahomes’ Adidas Freak Ultra Cleats

Footwear Moments

Next up on the list would be the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes’ Adidas Freak Ultra. Mahomes is an Adidas ambassador so it is no surprise that he flaunted his collab with the German athletic giant in a victorious fashion. The cleats were dripped in matching white, yellow, and red hues, similar to the Chiefs’ signature colors.

Jerick McKinnons’ Nike Kobe 8 Cleats

Footwear Moments

Runningback for the Chiefs Jerick McKinnon’s cleats honored late basketball legend, Kobe Bryant. McKinnon wore a custom pair of cleats designed to look like the Nike Kobe 8 “What the Kobe” colorway. The cleat was created by artist and designer Mache. The cleats make a statement on the field while honoring one of the greatest basketball players of all time in the process.

Although we are not picking favorites, we cannot help but admire all of the cleat choices from this Super Bowl. Specifically, Jalen Hurts’ iconic switcheroo moment. This Super Bowl was one to watch. If you did not get the chance to watch the game or the unforgettable halftime show, you are now up to speed on all of the best footwear moments from Sunday night’s game.

Jalen Hurts Gracefully Responds To Child Reporter’s Question After SB Loss

Jalen Hurts is not a Super Bowl champion. The Philadelphia Eagles, who Hurts quarterbacks, fell to the Kansas City Chiefs 38-35 on Sunday (Feb. 12). However, despite a Sul-crushing defeat, Hurts played phenomenally. In his third season in the NFL, Hurts debatably outplayed the league and Super Bowl MVP Patrick Mahomes. Mahomes, who has been Kansas City’s QB since 2017, had 182 passing yards while completing 21 of his 27 attempts. This manifested into 3 touchdowns. Additionally, he ran for 44 yards on a bum ankle. Hurts, on the other hand, threw for 304 yards while completing 27 of 38 attempts. He added 70 rushing yards to that with a total of 4 TDs.

The 24-year-old Texan had an incredible evolution this season, and last night’s game was the ultimate showcase of that growth. Philadelphia fans first saw him as incapable of being a starting QB in the league. Now, he is arguably one of the five best in the game. In Super Bowl LVII, Jalen became the only QB in the history of the big game to lose while producing 4 touchdowns. Additionally, Sunday’s 300 pass yards, 50 rush yards, and 3 rush TDs from Hurts was the second time he accomplished those numbers in his career. No other QB in the history of football has had a game with those numbers. Needless to say, he is legit. But, what makes him even more special is how excellent of a person he is off the field.

Jalen Hurts’ Humility

After his tough defeat, Hurts was tasked with going to the podium for a press conference. In typical fashion, players on the losing end aren’t too fond of these postgame pressers. But, when asked by a child reporter his thoughts on the game, Jalen answered with thoughtfulness and grace. “What is one lesson that you learned from this game that you’ll take on to the next?” the kid asked. “I think you want to cherish these moments. You want to cherish these moments with the people that you’ve come so far with. Your family, your loved ones, your teammates, your peers, everyone that you do it with and do it for,” Hurts responded.

“I’m so proud of this team for everything that we’ve been able to overcome.,” Hurts continued. “Obviously we had a big time goal in the end that we wanted to accomplish and we came up short. I think the beautiful part about it is everyone experiences different pains, everyone experiences different agonies of life but you decide if you want to learn from it. You decide if you want to use that to be a teachable moment. I know what I’ll do.” Although he wasn’t a winner on the field Sunday, Jalen Hurts’ winning attitude off of it will continue to pay dividends in the future.

It Appears Jalen Hurts Helped Book Anita Baker For The NFC Championship Game

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts has won over a lot of fans this season, leading the 14-3 Eagles to the top seed in the NFC and positioning himself as a finalist for the NFL MVP. But Hurts has never switched up on his fandom for Anita Baker.

Baker turned 65 years old on Thursday, January 26. Hurts tweeted, “Bumping @IAMANITABAKER All Day Per Usual, Happy Birthday” with a purple heart emoji. And Baker tweeted back, “Honored. Singing Songs of Victory, Your Way. Fly.”

The Eagles are preparing to host the San Francisco 49ers for the NFC Championship Game on Sunday, January 29 at Lincoln Financial Field. Baker will also be there, and The Philadelphia Inquirer reporter Josh Tolentino doesn’t think that’s a coincidence.

“The magic of Jalen Hurts: Eagles just announced Anita Baker will sing the National Anthem for the NFC Championship Game on Sunday at Lincoln Financial [Field],” he tweeted.

Tolentino isn’t alone in that belief:

Per NBC Sports Philadelphia’s Dave Zangaro, the halftime performance will be handled by DJ Jazzy Jeff.

Over in the AFC, the Kansas City Chiefs will host the Cincinnati Bengals in a rematch of last year’s AFC Championship Game. After Lil Jon performed at halftime of the Chiefs’ Divisional Round victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars last weekend, Fat Joe will handle this Sunday’s halftime performance.

The Eagles’ game against the Niners is scheduled to kick off at 3 p.m. EST on FOX, followed by the Bengals and Chiefs at 6:30 p.m. EST on CBS.

All of this is leading up to Super Bowl LVII on February 12 in Glendale, Arizona. Rihanna is the highly anticipated Super Bowl halftime performer.

Jalen Hurts Compared To Michael Jordan

Jalen Hurts and the Philadelphia Eagles have been fantastic this season. At one point, Hurts was looking like the frontrunner for MVP. Now, however, that has been taken over by Patrick Mahomes. Regardless, Hurts is now a solid top-five QB in the entire NFL.

On Sunday, he will take on the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Championship Game. A place in the Super Bowl is currently on the line, and Hurts knows what is at stake. Ahead of this game, Hurts is getting a huge showing of confidence from his head coach, Nick Sirianni.

Jalen Hurts Praised

While speaking to ESPN, Sirianni made the claim that Hurts is a lot like Michael Jordan. From his talent to his leadership, Hurts has impressed the whole team. Sirianni knows it is a wild comparison, however, he was adamant that it’s true.

“I know this is high praise, but to have him out there is like having–I shouldn’t even go there–it’s like having Michael Jordan out there,” Sirianni said. “He’s your leader. He’s your guy. Hopefully, that’s the biggest respect I can pay to him, comparing his ability to being on the field to a Michael Jordan type. This guy leads. He brings this calmness to the entire team. He plays great football. He’s as tough as they come. To me, nobody has played any better football than him this year.”
