Kid Cudi Clarifies Where He And Kanye West Stand: ‘I Am Not Cool With That Man’

Just about four years ago, Kanye West and Kid Cudi linked up for a self-titled collaborative album as Kids See Ghosts. Since then, though things between the two have soured significantly. It started after Kim Kardashian and Pete Davidson began dating, when Ye noted in February, “Just so everyone knows Cudi will not be on Donda because he’s friends with you know who.” Cudi fired back, “Too bad I dont wanna be on ur album u f*ckin dinosaur hahaha.”

So, when it was revealed yesterday that Cudi will feature on Pusha T’s upcoming West-produced album It’s Almost Dry, eyebrows were certainly raised. Now, though, Cudi has made it clear this doesn’t mean he and West have patched things up and are on good terms. In fact, the opposite is true.

This morning, Cudi tweeted, “Hey! So I know some of you heard about the song I got w Pusha. I did this song a year ago when I was still cool w Kanye. I am not cool w that man. He’s not my friend and I only cleared the song for Pusha cuz thats my guy. This is the last song u will hear me on w Kanye -Scott.”

So, don’t hold your breath for another Kids See Ghosts album.

Pusha T Explains Why His New Album ‘It’s Almost Dry’ Is An ‘Untouchable’ Body Of Work

Pusha T is gearing up to release his fourth studio album, It’s Almost Dry, in the coming weeks and to help promote the new project, he sat down for an hour-long interview with radio personality Charlamagne The God to discuss his new music, fatherhood, and a variety of other topics. In the course of the conversation, Pusha explained why he thinks It’s Almost Dry will be an “untouchable” body of work, crediting the album’s producers: Kanye West and Pharrell Williams.

“I had the best of both worlds in regard to production,” he muses. “In regard to two people who actually understand who I am and they like two different things from me.” Of course, Pharrell Williams was one of Pusha’s earliest supporters, signing Pusha’s group Clipse to his Star Trak Records imprint in the early 2000s, where the duo released three albums before splitting in 2010. It was then that Pusha signed to Kanye’s label G.O.O.D. Music, where he released three albums, including the critically acclaimed 2018 album Daytona, two mixtapes, and an EP.

“Just from that aspect,” Push continues, “I feel like this body of work is untouchable because it doesn’t lean too heavily on either side. It’s like you get the whole spectrum — probably my most well-rounded body of work.” That contrast has been most clearly visible in the two singles Push has released from the album: the Kanye West-featuring “Diet Coke,” which was produced by longtime West ally 88 Keys, and the Jay-Z-featuring “Neck And Wrist,” produced by Pharrell. Both singles have certainly heightened the hype surrounding his upcoming release, even though he hasn’t announced a release date yet.

Pusha T Announces His New Album’s Title And Upcoming Tour Dates

Say what you want about Pusha T, the rollout for his upcoming follow-up to 2018’s Daytona has been nothing short of immaculate. After releasing “Diet Coke” featuring Kanye West and “Neck And Wrist” featuring Jay-Z as singles, the Virginia coke rap veteran has revealed the album’s title and the dates of its accompanying tour. The album will be called It’s Almost Dry while the tour will start at the end of May and run through mid-June.

In addition to releasing “Diet Coke” and “Neck And Wrist” as singles, Push also timed some of his recent features and brand partnerships perfectly to promote the album. In March, he teamed up with Arby’s to issue a “Spicy Fish Diss” to McDonald’s, resulting in a reported $8 million of advertising worth to the sandwich purveyors. Apparently, when Arby’s’ commercials tout that “we have the meats,” they meant rap beef too.

Meanwhile, Pusha also appears on Nigo’s recent comeback album, I Know Nigo, contributing verses to both the Clipse reunion song “Punch Bowl” and his own solo offering “Hear Me Clearly.”
