While rap songs and videos can have the unintended side effect of making gang life look cooler than it is, YG & Mozzy are here to remind you that it’s still quite “Dangerous” in the latest video from their recently released joint album Kommunity Service. The first verse finds the California natives trading quick-witted quatrains upbraiding posers who claim affiliation without the muscle to back it up, while G Herbo brings the song home with his own chest-beating feature to close things out.
The stripped-down video keeps to the established aesthetic from their “Bompton To Oak Park” clip, with a legion of goons mean-mugging the camera to underline the street-loyal lyrics, shot through a perspective warping fish-eye lens. The duo has shown an impressive degree of flexibility with the album rollout so far, as well; while thoroughly praising their expected “Gangsta” credentials in these videos, they’ve alternated them with more positive messaging in the semi-romantic clip for “Perfect Timing.” Album cuts like “Vibe With You” have also offset the menace, because you can’t always be in war mode.
Meanwhile, the duo’s members have done their fair share of good work in the world, too. YG recently gave away $20,000 worth of sneakers to former inmates to ensure that the project’s title wasn’t just figurative.

According to MassLive — an offshoot of Springfield, Massachusetts-based newspaper The Republican — Chicago rapper G Herbo pled “not guilty” to charges of lying to federal agents about his alleged involvement in identity fraud. Herbo appeared in Springfield court via Zoom from his home in Los Angeles to enter his plea in the new case, which resulted from his allegedly telling a federal agent he had no relationship with a defendant in the original case.
Prosecutors maintained that Herbo and the other defendant, Chicago promoter Antonio Strong, actually did have a relationship that saw Strong giving Herbo “valuable goods,” including “private jet charters, luxury accommodations, and exotic car rentals.” Of course, the problem is that those luxuries were supposedly purchased with the ill-gotten gains from an identity fraud scam involving the two men and four others, for which they were indicted in December. However, the additional charges were tacked on more recently; federal prosecutors filed the new charges earlier this month, claiming Herb (Herbert Wright III) “knowingly and willfully made the following materially false, fictitious and fraudulent statements and representations in a matter within the jurisdiction of the executive branch of the Government of the United States.”
Meanwhile, Herbo is set to go to court on the original charges of identity theft in August. He pled “not guilty” to those in December after turning himself in, and before addressing the charges on his recent single “Statement.”

After being charged with identity fraud late last year, G Herbo has been hit with new charges related to that case. According to The Shade Room, the U.S. Attorney for the District of Massachusetts filed additional charges against the rapper, born Herbert Wright III, for allegedly lying to a federal agent about his connection to one of the co-defendants in the case. Wright reportedly denied having a direct relationship with Antonio Strong, his friend and business associate. The FBI believes Wright and Strong have known each other since 2016 and maintained frequent contact since.
“Herbert Wright III, a/k/a ‘Herb,’ ‘Lil Herb,’ ‘G Herbo,’ and ‘Herbert Light,’ knowingly and willfully made the following materially false, fictitious and fraudulent statements and representations in a matter within the jurisdiction of the executive branch of the Government of the United States,” read federal documents The Shade Room obtained. “That is, during a voluntary interview with a special agent of the United States Secret Service and a special agent of the (FBI).”
Federal prosecutors also believe Wright gave Strong money and received “private jet charters, luxury accommodations, and exotic car rentals” in return. As a result, a motion to connect the new charges to the original fraud case was filed, which, according to Complex, he approved through a signed document. Herbo will return to court for the identity theft charges in August.
