San Cha Is Bringing Tradition Back To The Forefront As The Budding Singer Steps Into The Limelight

The Coca-Cola® Transformation Team, formed by Coca-Cola® and Warner Music Group’s WMX, has discovered some of music’s next crossover acts thanks to their talent search inspired by Coca-Cola® Move. So far, their journey has brought forth budding acts, Canada’s Kallitechnis and Puerto Rico’s Eduardo María. Next on the growing roster is singer and songwriter San Cha.

Based in Highland Park, California, with Mexican heritage, San Cha’s music has traveled just as much as she has in her creative pursuits. San Cha’s traditionally focused music has already begun to gain recognition, as evidenced by her song “Desesperada” being featured on the Showtime series Vida. Revered for her ranchera and goth music blends, San Cha carried that raw vulnerability over into her stripped-down The Eye performance.

In the series, acts are challenged to deliver a raw one-take musical performance showcasing who they are as artists. For San Cha, her song “Levanta Dolores” was just the right fit. When asked why she selected the song, the singer replied, “I wanted to conceptualize this Telenovela story,” adding that song’s duality was the deciding factor.

“There’s this man portion of it, and there a danity sad female. This song is just crying. Crying. Desperation — but exaggerated,” said San Cha.

Conscious of how this will appear on camera, San Cha says, “I would like to be simultaneously losing myself in the performance but concise of lighting, camera [angles], and performing with it. I think we’re all performing together.”

When asked about preparing for The Eye performance, San Cha shared, “With music, it feels like it is all about freedom and letting yourself go. When the music actually takes over you, you want to move. You want to dance. You want to do whatever it is asking you to do. I feel the most free when I’m belting,” continuing, “When the voice is taking up all this space, it feels like, ‘oh, I’m connected.’”

No written description will do this performance justice. However, in the behind-the-scenes footage, the team captures the song’s high energy and theatrical nature, which bleeds over into San Cha’s performance. Watch the full video above.

Watch The Coca-Cola® Transformation Team Artists Get Insightful Career Advice From An Industry Expert

In March, Coca-Cola® and Warner Music Group’s WMX teamed up to introduce the Coca-Cola® Transformation Team, a talent search inspired by Coca-Cola® Move, the brand’s latest innovation that celebrates “the transformational power of music.” The entry period has since come and gone and three worthy artists were chosen: San Cha, Eduardo Marìa, and Kallitechnis.

The three were given quite the opportunity: an insightful roundtable discussion with Steve-O Carless, president of A&R for Warner Records. He sums up his philosophy, “An an artist, you want to be up to speed with how the business is forever transforming, ever evolving. When something doesn’t fit, I’ve learned you create it. I call it ‘taking the stairs,’ as opposed to waiting for the elevator.”

He also notes, “I find it disappointing when I see artists use old thinking, of what they think the record business is, to kind of set their goals. That’s a huge mistake.”

Those are both nice big-picture thoughts, but during the conversation, he got more granular as well, giving the three Coca-Cola® Transformation Team artists more specific and actionable ideas to consider. Overall, all parties involved had interesting things to say and the difference of perspectives presented strong learning opportunities, so check out the video above.

Rising Musician Eduardo María Is Turning Heartbreak Into Hits As He Fights For Mainstream Success

Coca-Cola® and Warner Music Group’s WMX is on the road to uncover music’s new diamond in the rough. The Coca-Cola® Transformation Team’s talent search inspired by Coca-Cola® Move has led them to Puerto Rico’s own Eduardo María.

Hailing from Mayagüez, Eduardo blends his classically-trained background with cultural elements into his songwriting, stage presence, and production style to deliver an emotionally dynamic final product. Sticking to the series’ “the transformational power of music” mission for his The Eye one-take in-studio performance, Eduardo lets his heart bleed in front of the camera.

Performing his original song, “Dilo,” a song inspired by a past romantic relationship, Eduardo channels the track’s sensual nature. On-screen, the musician oozes confidence, but he confesses, “I’m nervous. I have the jitters! But it’s more like when your adrenaline is running, and you don’t know if you’re nervous or actually excited.”

As soon as the crew begins recording, the pressure melts off of Eduardo as he knocks the performance out of the park. Fellow artists Kallitechnis and San Cha proudly cheer him in the background.

Speaking on his experience, Eduardo shared, “I definitely grew — getting more in my body and getting the feedback from the team. It gives you a glimpse of what your future will be. It has transformed me. It has connected me more to myself. “

This video highlights how much preparatory work goes on behind the scenes to birth the high-stakes The Eye performances. Watch the full video above.

Meet The Talents That Make Up The Coca-Cola® Transformation Team

Back in March, Coca-Cola® and Warner Music Group’s WMX introduced the Coca-Cola® Transformation Team, a talent search inspired by Coca-Cola® Move, the brand’s latest innovation with a stated goal of celebrating “the transformational power of music.” Artists submitted video entries to be considered, and winners would be invited to participate in a one-day boot camp to learn more about songwriting, stage style, mixing, and other essential topics. Furthermore, they also get to take the stage on The Eye, a stripped-back performance series that puts raw musical ability at the forefront.

Well, the entry window has closed and three deserving up-and-comers have officially been chosen.

There’s San Cha, a Mexican singer who grew up a reserved kid singing in her church choir, an environment that made her realize singing was a way for her to break out of her shell. Also selected was Eduardo Marìa, who found the confidence to share songs online and let his talent shine during the pandemic. The third and final artist is Kallitechnis, who’s always been passionate about music and eventually put her collegiate psychology studies aside to give music a real shot.

The trio got together with Steve-O Carless, president of A&R for Warner Records, for a roundtable discussion, during which he shared some valuable wisdom. Check that out, and learn more about the three Transformation Team artists in the video above.

Up-And-Coming Artist Kallitechnis Is Staying In The Moment While Stepping Into Spotlight

Coca-Cola® and Warner Music Group’s WMX recently unveiled the Coca-Cola® Transformation Team, a talent search inspired by Coca-Cola® Move that ultimately chose three rising artists who embody the program’s goals of celebrating “the transformational power of music” while also exhibiting a clear flair for experimentation and pushing musical boundaries. These performers got some pretty sweet opportunities, including a one-day boot camp with a seasoned industry professional to learn about things like songwriting, stage style, and mixing. On top of that, all three got behind the mic on The Eye, a stripped-down performance series that captures live music raw, in one take with one camera.

First is Kallitechnis, a Canadian up-and-comer whose song “Gifted” is fresh off of receiving a Contemporary R&B/Soul Recording Of The Year nomination at the 2022 Juno Awards.

She went in a different direction for The Eye, choosing to perform “Wound Up.” Kallitechnis says of the original track, “It’s basically about not being able to tame something that is intangible. So in my case, it’s my spirit and my creativity.” She also noted of her approach to this specific performance, “Today, what I’m really focusing on is just being present and not thinking too much about the performance, but knowing that it’s one-take, just giving it my all.”

On set, Kallitechnis got some feedback from fellow Transformation Team artists San Cha and Eduardo Marìa, who had a lot of (earned) compliments to offer. The video also shows some behind-the-scenes of what goes into a performance on The Eye, so check it out above.

WMX And Coca-Cola Are Teaming Up To Launch The Transformation Team Talent Search

Today, tools for music creation and distribution are more available than ever. While accessibility is good, with a larger talent pool, it’s not always easy for deserving acts to stand out. Now, though, Coca-Cola and Warner Music Group’s WMX are teaming up to help some of those artists out with the Coca-Cola Transformation Team.

To put it broadly: Transformation Team is a talent search that will give a select few artists significant development and exposure opportunities, ones that could set their careers off in a brighter new direction.

Interested emerging artists can submit video entries to be considered for the Transformation Team. Only three will be chosen to take part in a multifaceted one-day boot camp that’ll be guided by a Warner Music Group industry expert. Artists will be given major tools for success as they learn about songwriting, stage style, mixing, and other topics.

The opportunity doesn’t stop there, as participating artists will be the subjects of video profiles and will give their own performances on The Eye. The esteemed, stripped-down performance series is the perfect way to show off undeniable talent and has previously hosted recognizable figures like Kevin Gates, Maisie Peters, and Pink Sweat$, among others.

The road to stardom is often difficult and rarely looks the same for two artists. For a few talented up-and-comers, though, Transformation Team could be a pivotal part of the journey.
