Syd, Chika, And Anitta Will Perform At LA Pride In The Park 2022

Pride is back in LA, honey! LA Pride In The Park has a stacked line-up for you, too. Returning for the first time in two years, since the COVID-19 pandemic brought it to a temporary halt, Pride In The Park boasts a line-up of musicians, performers, and drag queens, representing all facets of the LGBTQ+ community.

On this year’s lineup are Michaela Jae (Pose), Chika, Syd, and Rebecca Black. Headlining the festival are Christina Aguilera and Anitta.

The festival will take place on June 11 at Los Angeles State Historic Park, and is supported by non-profit organization Christoper Street West, which organizes all of LA Pride‘s events.

“We’re thrilled to have women, the majority of them LGBTQIA+ artists of color, lead our mainstage event to celebrate our return to Pride,” said Gerald Garth, CSW’s vice president of community programming and initiatives, in a statement. “Los Angeles represents a broad range of cultures, backgrounds and identities, especially across the BIPOC communities. Bringing influential and diverse artists is a nod to the many different people reflected within our community.”

In addition to the musical performers, several drag queens are on the bill, including Eureka and Bob The Drag Queen, from RuPaul’s Drag Race and We’re Here. Tickets are available for purchase now.

Anitta Brought Out Snoop Dogg And Saweetie For Her Vibrant Coachella Debut

Anitta is having quite the big week. Just a few days ago, the Brazilian singer released her fifth album Versions Of Me. The project arrived three years after her fourth full-length effort Kisses. After celebrating the release of Versions Of Me, Anitta brought her talents to Coachella for a flavorful set with some special guests. She made her entrance to the stage with Snoop Dogg by her side and later on she brought out Saweetie so that they could do a brief performance of their collaboration, “Faking Love.” Elsewhere, Anitta’s backup dancers later got into a “funk battle” with Diplo who was spinning on the DJ booth.

Anitta’s Versions Of Me features her viral TikTok track, “Envolver,” which she also performed during her debut set at Coachella. Versions Of Me itself arrived with 15 songs and features from Ty Dolla Sign, Afro B, Khalid, Saweetie, YG, Cardi B, Myke Towers, and more. Anitta’s Coachella performance also comes after she and Saweetie stopped by The Late Late Show With James Corden to perform “Faking Love.”

Anitta And Saweetie Aren’t Afraid To Break Hearts In Their ‘Faking Love’ Performance On ‘Corden’

Last year, Brazilian pop star Anitta teamed up with Cardi B for the showstopping single “Me Gusta.” For her latest single “Faking Love,” Anitta set her sights on another groundbreaking rapper: Saweetie. This week, the duo came together to perform the joint track on The Late Late Show With James Corden.

The captivating rendition of “Faking Love” marked the duo’s debut TV performance of the single. Armed with backup dancers, moody red lighting, and unstoppable confidence, Anitta and Saweetie delivered cutting lyrics about feigning interest in a romantic partner.

Ahead of the set, Anitta and Saweetie chatted with Corden about the exact inspiration behind the track. Anitta admitted that her relationships usually have a three-month expiration date. While writing the song, she was seeing guy she was seeing for about three months and decided it was time to end things. But because it was his birthday week, she decided to wait and “fake love” until after the celebrations ended. “I got to three months and I said, ‘No. He’s not nice,’” she told Corden. “But I didn’t want to break up with him in that moment because it was his birthday week because I’m a nice girl. So I was faking for that week so that after his birthday was [done], I would break up and that’s what I did.”

Anitta also revealed that, with this guy, she took some inspiration out of the 2003 film How To Lose A Guy In Ten Days and did some “disgusting things” to him in order to try to get him to break up with her — but it didn’t quite work.

Anitta And Saweetie Are Tired Of ‘Faking Love’ On Their Confident New Single

Brazilian pop star Anitta‘s new single, “Faking Love,” is a brazen breakup anthem, so it’s fitting that she tapped the Bay Area’s own Icy Princess, Saweetie, to deliver a slick, dismissive verse to really drive the message home. After all, Saweetie’s become kind of an expert at that type of song thanks to her experience on similar anthems like “Back To The Streets.” She also shines quite a bit brighter when paired with another woman’s voice — just see “Best Friend,” “Slow Clap,” and “Seesaw” — so she’s a perfect fit on Anitta’s upbeat track.

Saweetie’s flow has improved quite a bit as well, as those performance boot camps she delayed her album for seem to be paying off. The verse also helps hold fans over as they await the holidays to find out more about her collaboration with another pop icon, Cher. Meanwhile, Anitta, who has had a relatively quiet year so far, is smart to tap another American star as she warms up the new music rollout machine. After calling on Cardi B to spice up her fan-favorite single “Me Gusta,” getting in touch with another of the top female hitmakers in the US keeps her trajectory pointed solidly toward the sky.
