One of the best sneakers you can get in terms of 90s Jumpman offerings is the Air Jordan 5. Overall, this is the shoe that really kicked off the 90s for Nike and Michael Jordan. Although it is not the most popular Jordan sneaker out there, it is still widely considered as an iconic offering. It had a huge pop culture showing, and to this day, fans still adore it. There are some cool aesthetics to be found here, and who can forget those shark teeth on the midsole?

Throughout 2023 thus far, there have been quite a few dope Air Jordan 5 offerings. However, it seems like there are still some more left to come out. One of them is the Jordan 5 “Burgundy.” Of course, this is a retro of a colorway that we got back in the mid-2000s. Unfortunately, this model has been hit with some delays. Regardless, it is still on track to be released before the end of the summer, which is good news for sneakerheads.

Firstly, this model is covered in what appears to be burgundy suede. This look suits the silhouette extremely well. Secondly, the midsole also has some burgundy on it all while the shark teeth help add some unique design elements. Originally, this shoe was set to drop on August 12th. Subsequently, the shoe was hit with an August 19th release date. Released in 1990, it was the last shoe that dropped before Michael Jordan started winning NBA titles. Moreover, it is a shoe that got hit with plenty of pop culture references. As a result, it still gets a ton of love from fans. To this day, the shoe is still getting some new colorways, and that is absolutely something to celebrate.

As you have probably noticed, 2023 has been a great year for this shoe so far. There have been a ton of colorways that have been released and in the coming weeks, more are on the horizon. Although, it seems like a lot of cool colorways will be dropping in 2024, as well. While it might be too early to even think about next year, the teasers are already here. For instance, @zsneakerheadz has blessed us with a fresh look at a new Air Jordan 5 simply called “Sail.”

Just like any other “Sail” model, you can expect a lot of beige to be found here. The upper is covered in premium light beige materials, all while the midsole is black with a beige shark tooth graphic. We get a gum outsole here which adds a bit of an aged look to the shoes. That said, it is an agreeable aesthetic that will make these work all year long.

For now, a release date for this shoe has not yet been confirmed. However, it is known that the sneaker will likely be released next year during the summer months. Guide To Best Air Jordan Colorways In 2023

Overall, Air Jordan has been truly killing it this year. There has been a ton of great releases throughout 2023. Moreover, there promises to be a whole lot more as the year goes on. We are seeing teasers galore, and fans are very excited about what’s to come. Whether your love the Air Jordan 1, the Jordan 3, the Jordan 6, or maybe even the Jordan 2, there has been a little something for everyone. That said, we have decided to look at some of our favorite colorways from the year so far.

“Lucky Green”

Firstly, you cannot talk about 2023 releases without mentioning “Lucky Green.” The Air Jordan 1, 2, and 3 have all received releases with this aesthetic. Typically, it involves a white leather base with some green highlights throughout. That is exactly what we saw on this women’s exclusive AJ3 model, pictured above. If you are a big Boston Celtics fan, this recent string of releases has been a huge breath of fresh air.

“Chicago”

One of the greatest color schemes of all-time across all brands is the “Chicago” aesthetic. Of course, this was popularized by the GOAT, Michael Jordan. On the second to last day of 2022, we got the Air Jordan 2 “Chicago” retro. Given the shoe’s proximity to 2023, we decided to include it on the list. How could you not? Between the white leather base and black and red highlights, this is a certified banger that belongs in every serious sneaker collection.

“Cool Grey”

Overall, “Cool Grey” is one of the best motifs to come out of Jordan Brand and Nike. In 2023, fans were blessed with an Air Jordan 1 High OG called “Washed Black,” which might as well fall under the “Cool Grey” umbrella. The white base of this shoe is complemented by cool grey overlays. Additionally, the black and red tongue label adds a nice pop of contrast. Sure, it’s not officially “Cool Grey,” but it certainly embodies the essence of it.

“Panda”

Next up on our list, we have the “Panda” color scheme. Of course, this is an aesthetic that has mostly been reserved for the Nike Dunk Low, Mid, and High. However, it found its way onto this impeccable Air Jordan 1 Hi 85 “Black-White” retro. The original cut of the AJ1 has proven to be a huge hit, and these black-and-white kicks are a big reason for that. With a white base and black overlays, you really cannot go wrong with something like this. Be it the summer or the winter, these are going to impress.

“UNC”

Lastly, we are ending things off with the “UNC” aesthetic. The University of North Carolina is where Michael Jordan spent his college years, with much success. Hence why there are all sorts of Air Jordans with powder blue bases. Among them is this incredible Air Jordan 5 that is covered in bright blue leather on the upper. Furthermore, we get a black midsole, silver 3M tongue, and white and blue shark teeth that immediately jump off the silhouette. Yet another instance of a color doing all the talking.

Fans continue to clamor for these, and subsequently, Jordan Brand delivers. It is a beautiful thing, isn’t it?

Later this year, fans will likely be getting a new Air Jordan 5 from the likes of A Ma Maniere. The Atlanta-based boutique is known for a plethora of great Jordan Brand collaborations. The upcoming Jordan 5 collaboration will come with at least a couple of colorways. Although, it seems like a third color scheme might be coming into the fray. According to @zsneakerheadz, there is now a women’s exclusive model which is being called “Diffused Blue.”

Overall, this is a diffused model that is going to make a lot of people happy. Firstly, the upper is covered in some white leather. Secondly, we get nice shades of blue on the midsole, inner lining, the number 23 near the back heel, and even the Nike Air logo on the back. When you put this all together, you get a shoe that was made to impress and be mass appealing.

According to @zsneakerheadz, this shoe is rumored to be dropping later this year in 2023. In fac, the rumor right now is the Holiday season, which goes from late October all the way to December.
