Lil Uzi Vert performed their single, “Just Wanna Rock,” at WrestleMania 39 on Saturday night in Inglewood, California while introducing Joshua Samuel Fatu and Jonathan Solofa Fatu. Additionally, Uzi hinted at competing in WrestleMania 40, which is scheduled to be held in their hometown of Philadelphia in 2024.
“I can’t believe I’m here, I can’t believe I saw so many people that I always wanted to see my whole life,” said Uzi in an interview backstage. “I wanted to get in the ring, I was ready to get in the ring. But you’ll see me in April, Philadelphia 2024, so I don’t wanna give up all the surprises. But you’ll see me there.” As for who Uzi hopes to take on, they replied, “Dominik [Mysterio].”

The performance of “Just Wanna Rock” comes as the song continues to grow in popularity. Just last week, Uzi performed the song on The Tonight Show. Earlier this year, DJ Drama argued that the song replaced Meek Mill’s “Dreams & Nightmares” as the anthem for Philadelphia. Uzi disagreed with Drama’s take when asked about it by Revolt TV at the Grammys. “I don’t think so,” the “Myron” rapper responded at the time. “That song like been around for a very long time, and that song is still hitting exactly the same way. I’m just gonna have to see, you know, in a couple of years or a decade or whatever.”
The appearances for Uzi come ahead of the anticipated release of their next project, The Pink Tape. Uzi last gave an update on the project while speaking with TMZ, last month. “I probably got, like, two more months,” he said at the time. It will be their first project since releasing the Red & White EP in July 2022.
Uzi wasn’t the only artist involved in WrestleMania 39. Bad Bunny also provided commentary from the Spanish announcement table while Snoop Dogg hosted the event alongside the Miz. Becky G also kicked off the event with a performance of “America the Beautiful”
