Beyoncé Sends A Heartfelt Gift To ‘Original Dreamgirl’ Sheryl Lee Ralph Following Her ‘Abbott Elementary’ Emmy Win

Over the weekend, Beyoncé had a personal gift shipped to Abbott Elementary‘s Sheryl Lee Ralph, in celebration of her recent Emmy win for Best Supporting Actress In A Comedy Series. Ralph became just the second Black woman to win in that category at last week’s Emmy Awards. Along with the bouquet of yellow and white flowers, Beyoncé wrote Ralph a special note, referencing the role as Deena Jones in Dreamgirls that both of them played (Ralph in the 1981 Broadway debut, Beyoncé in the 2006 movie).

“To the original Dreamgirl, sending you a beautiful congratulations,” Ralph read from the card in an Instagram video. “All my love, Beyoncé.”

Ralph played one of the soundtrack’s songs, “We’re Your Dreamgirls,” in the background, as she shared her own reaction to Beyoncé’s congratulatory present. “They’re beautiful, oh Beyoncé… I don’t have a voice, but it’s wonderful,” she said, visibly shocked by the card in the present.

For the video’s caption, Ralph continued her sweet messages to the singer, writing, “Every one has their own special dream and all your dreams can come true. Just look in the mirror and love what’s in front of you. Thank you @beyonce don’t forget to dream girls!”

Other members of the Dreamgirls universe also sent Ralph flower arrangements, including Jennifer Hudson, who won the Oscar for her portrayal as Effie White in the movie version. Although Oprah was not a part of Dreamgirls, she was also someone who gave Ralph flowers, specifically some so big “they had to open the double doors and get a trolley,” according to Ralph telling The Hollywood Reporter. She even received a call from Vice President Kamala Harris.

Don Q Appears To Accuse Lil Tjay Of Snitching On New Song: “N***a Lowkey A Rat”

Don Q and Lil Tjay have had some friction over the years but it appeared to settle down in recent times. Following Tjay’s near-death experience earlier this year, he returned with new music over the past few weeks including a freestyle over 50 Cent’s “Many Men.” He went into detail about the shooting before appearing to take shots at members of Highbridge The Label, including Trap Manny.

They like what’s the beef, I be like lets not recite the past
‘Cause that’s gon’ makе it even hotter, oncе we get back on they–
You know
Like what? Mr. Manny steady talkin’ like he tough
Caught his ass, ain’t have no pole, and he went skippin’ off the dust
Type of guy, try to take sum’ from me, boy, you high
And I ain’t sayin’ he the suspect but lil’ homie out of eye
Old streets rules apply, I got hit, ain’t wonder why

In response, Don Q issued a new record on Sunday titled, “IDK.” On the song, he adamantly denies any involvement in the shooting, and went as far as claiming that Tjay is looking for clout. At the top of the verse, Q questions Tjay’s credibility in the streets and went as far as suggesting that he cooperated with authorities. “Got shot, now he saying names all over your rap/ Pussy boy I could imagine what you told the detectives,” he raps on the song. He went even further with claims that Lil Tjay’s sound follows A Boogie’s blueprint.

“Just another A Boogie stan that was obsessed with us
You never liked the fact that people called you a replica
Now you think you 50 for clout
He took 9, you took 7, two more will help him figure it out.
How much Highbridge dick is gon fit in your mouth?

On the outro, Don Q denies having any knowledge of the situation before further accusing Tjay of snitching. “I guess them n***as caught you slipping now you saying our names for attention… N***a lowkey a rat. Saying n***as names. Dry snitching. We ain’t even had nothing to do with that shit,” he says on the outro.

NAV’s “Demons Protected By Angels” Album Debuts At No. 2 With 67K Units Sold

As was projected last weekend, NAV’s Demons Protected By Angels album missed out on the Billboard 200’s No. 1 spot, instead landing just below it at No. 2 after selling 67K album equivalent units during its first week out.

It was initially reported that the Toronto-born rapper might even have been pushed out of the top two if Ozzy Osbourne’s Patient Number 9 project drew in more attraction. HDD anticipated that NAV would move anywhere from 50K to 55K copies, but he clearly pulled through and managed to beat the expectation.

Of NAV’s first week sales, 40.5K came from streaming equivalent units (or 60.13 million on-demand plays). This, paired with 26K album sales and 500 track equivalent units landed the “Some Way” hitmaker his fifth ever top 10 project on the chart.

As Hypebeast notes, Osbourne’s latest effort moved 56K equivalent album units. Other new arrivals that landed in this week’s accolades include Kane Brown at No. 5 after selling 46K equivalent album units, as well as Yeat’s Lyfe, which finished in tenth with 30K units.

The No. 1 spot this weekend went to none other than Latin rapper Bad Bunny, who is now enjoying his 11th nonconsecutive week at the top of the ranking, meaning he’s now competing with Drake’s Views for the most total weeks in such a prestigious spot.

In sixth place is NBA YoungBoy’s surprise Realer 2 release, followed by albums from Harry Styles, Beyoncé and Rod Wave at seven, eight, and nine respectively.

Don Q Seemingly Responds To Lil Tjay On “IDK”

Fans have awaited Lil Tjay to return with new music following the near-fatal shooting this summer. The rapper was shot in New Jersey and remained in the hospital for weeks, though he and those in his team provided updates. Over the weekend, Tjay unleashed a new freestyle over 50 Cent’s “Many Men,” where he seemingly mentioned the name of HBTL’s Trap Manny, who had friction with the “Beat The Odds” rapper over the past few years.

In response, Don Q stepped up to the plate with the release of his latest single, “Idk.” The rapper clarified off the top that he has no idea who may have been the culprit behind the shooting before tearing Tjay apart. “Now you think you 50 for clout/ He took 9, you took 7, two more will help him figure it out/ How much Highbridge dick is gon’ fit in your mouth?” He raps on the record after calling Tjay an “A Boogie stan.”

Check the record out below.

Bizarre Appears To Suggest The Game Used Ghost Writer For His Eminem Diss

Bizarre spoke about The Game’s Eminem diss, “The Black Slim Shady,” while appearing on a recent episode of The Bootleg Kev Podcast, saying that he felt the song could’ve been better. The diss track was included on Game’s latest album, Drillmatic – Heart vs. Mind.

“I just feel like I couldn’t get past the Eminem voice,” Bizarre said of the 10-minute song.

He continued: “I know Game can rap better than that. I know he’s a problem as a battle rapper, a guy that’s into lyrics. I feel like that was a nice little cute intro. He never got out of that, though. He stayed in Marshall’s body for the whole 10 minutes. When we gonna get Game? We know he can do it, so what happened?”

“[I wasn’t a fan] of that song, nah, nah. I think he could have did better — or Stat Quo could have did better,” he continued.

When Kev asked whether he was suggesting that The Game gets ghostwriting help, Bizarre remarked, “I ain’t say nothing, man. Shout out to Game.”

The Game has previously told The Rap Radar Podcast that his diss toward Eminem was “not personal,” instead suggesting that his grievances with the Detroit rapper started during his 50 Cent beef.

“I think me and 50’s fallout made him choose a side and he wasn’t doing the shit that I did,” Game said. “He was like, ‘I’m going with 50. Fuck you n****s.’ But I just felt like, Hip Hop’s gotta be interesting. These n****s these days are so god damn boring or every time somebody wanna beef, somebody gotta die. Sometimes, ladies and gentleman, it’s just Hip Hop and you can leave it at that.”

Tory Lanez Continues To Shut Down August Alsina Fight Allegations: “Nothing Happened”

The latest alleged feud to capture the internet’s attention occurred between Tory Lanez and August Alsina. The latter accused the former of attacking him this past weekend – and even pulled out receipts to prove his bloody injuries – though the PLAYBOY artist has vehemently denied all the allegations brought against him.

Most recently, the 30-year-old got on the phone with DJ Akademiks on Sunday (September 18) to provide more context to his side of the story while doubling down on his stance that he had nothing to do with the New Orleans native’s claims against him.

“What happened with August, bruh?” the Off the Record host pressed Lanez in a clip uploaded to his Instagram feed. “Everything good?”

The Canadian artist responded, “Brother, nah. Nothing happened. I don’t even know what this kid is talking about, brother.” Akademiks then confirmed, “Ok, so you not involved?!”

“No!” Lanez told the podcaster. “Hell no, like I don’t know if he’s doing promo. I don’t know what that n*gga is talking about, brother.”

At this point, DJ Ak told the “Shooters” hitmaker that upon reading the news initially he was in utter disbelief. “Yo, when I read it I’m like, ‘Yo, Tory not even violent like that, bro,'” he told his friend.

“Yo, I can’t even, yo… Ak,” Lanez said, expressing his disbelief at how out of hand things have gotten for him in the past 48 hours.

According to HipHopDX, while walking on a ramp, Malone stepped into a hole in the floor that is used to lower his guitar. The hole was not properly covered, leading to his fall.

In a video shared online, Malone was unable to brace for his fall and remained on the floor for minutes until he was assisted by staff. Post Malone would return to the stage after 15 minutes but had an abbreviated set.

“Thank you for the patience,” Post Malone said online. “Thank you for putting up with my dumb ass. Whenever we do the acoustic part of the show, the guitar is on a guitar stand, and it goes down, and it’s this big ass hole. I go around, step through there, and I bust my ass.”
