ATLiens was released on August 27, 1996, following the duo’s 1994 debut album, Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik. The album marked a notable evolution in OutKast’s sound and style. It was particularly a more experimental and daring album than their debut. Also, it explored a broader sonic soundscape as well. At the time of the album’s release, the rappers were both 21-year-olds, but they had begun writing and recording songs for it since they were 18. Soon after releasing their debut album, OutKast worked on ATLiens between late 1994 and early 1996.

The Evolution Of OutKast On ATLiens

The beats on ATLiens were handled by Organized Noize, a production team known for their work with the Dungeon Family. Their sound incorporated a blend of funk, dub, gospel, soul, and electronic elements, expertly creating otherworldly and futuristic production. This helped to reflect the duo’s desire to explore uncharted territory in Hip Hop. Furthermore, their musical evolution succeeded in challenging conventional norms. 

The genre-blurring production provided by the duo, with help from Organized Noize, effectively depicts the artists’ vision. In addition to this, the lyrics on the album delve into a wide range of topics including social issues, personal introspection, and sci-fi references. ATLiens also reflected the duo’s artistic growth, as well as their open-mindedness and experimental nature.

There are a limited number of collaborations on ATLiens, and guest verses only appear on four of the 15 songs on the album. The featured artists are: Witchdoctor on “Ova Da Wudz” and “E.T. (Extraterrestrial),” T-Mo and Khujo on “Mainstream,” and Big Gipp and Cool Breeze on “Decatur Psalm.”

ATLiens unsurprisingly received critical acclaim upon its release. Critics had particular praise for its innovative production, lyrical complexity, and unorthodox themes. With the album, OutKast became a formidable force in Hip Hop’s history. As a matter of fact, Billboard ranked the duo atop their list of the greatest rap groups of all time.

ATLiens remains a seminal work in OutKast’s discography. Moreover, it is often cited as one of the greatest Hip Hop albums of all time. Peso Pluma Forced To Cancel Tijuana Show After Cartel Makes Death Threats

Regional Mexican singer Peso Pluma has had a massive breakout 2023. The singer rose rapidly to incredible fame this year following numerous high-profile collaborations. He’s had numerous songs on the Hot 100 each week dating back to early this year. Pluma’s style of music is often described as corridos tumbados which evokes drug-trade lyrics and thematic content. He famously has numerous songs dedicated to legendary drug lord El Chapo. Now, his chosen style is making it more difficult for him to tour.

Earlier this week, a number of banners were posted in various towns making death threats at Peso Pluma if he chose to perform there. “This is for you, Peso Pluma. Refrain from appearing this October 14. Because it will be your last presentation,” a banner posted in Tijuana translated to. Subsequently, Pluma is clearly taking the threats seriously as he’s announced a series of concert cancelations, including his planned Tijuana show. His label made the official announcement, which reads “Our goal is to protect the fans and the team. For the safety of everyone involved, we will cancel our show in Tijuana.”

Peso Pluma Cancels Tijuana Show

Peso Pluma having a breakout 2023 is no understatement. Consequently, he was nominated for three awards at this year’s MTV Video Music Awards including best new artist, which ultimately ended up going to Ice Spice. He also appeared on Barack Obama’s annual summer playlist alongside some major names. His collaboration with Yng Lvcas “La Bebe (Remix)” popped up on the former president’s playlist.

Additionally this isn’t even the only time in recent weeks that Pluma was forced to cancel shows. Earlier this week when the banners first appeared he announced numerous cancelations and reschedulings of previously announced shows on his tour. While an official reason wasn’t given at the time, the new cancelation likely informs the reason for the earlier ones following the death threats. Charlamagne Tha God Blasts Kenneth Petty’s “Lame” Offset Feud

The Breakfast Club joined the online debate and addressed the Kenneth Petty and Offset situation, with Charlamagne Tha God in particular having some harsh words for the former. For those unaware, Nicki Minaj’s husband wanted to confront the rapper at this year’s VMAs last week and threatened him along with some of his friends. Eventually, he jabbed at the Georgia MC by telling him to plan his own funeral. While ‘Set seemed to laugh the whole thing off, that reaction didn’t stop people from criticizing this general approach and attitude. Moreover, Charlamagne spoke on how Petty is too old to be petty now, and recalled a time during which the Internet didn’t prompt people to boast about their street life.

“You lame, like, there’s nothing fly about that type of behavior,” Charlamagne Tha God remarked to the airwaves and his co-hosts. “The reality is that he earned that, ’cause you have the audacity to be acting like that on the FBI’s Internet. You 45 years old, you already on probation, you have a crazy criminal record already. You telling somebody to plan their funeral online?

Kenneth Petty Gets Harsh Words From Charlamagne Tha God

“Like, you begging to go to prison,” Charlamagne Tha God continued. “And it’s incredible to me that all these street dudes have let the Internet make them forget street rules. Number one, you should’ve been let go of all the childish ways of the street, first and foremost. That’s number one. But number two, I remember a time where folks wouldn’t talk about any dirt over the phone. Now y’all recording yourselves in 4K and posting it online? I know law enforcement be having a ball looking at these n***as.”

Meanwhile, turns out that Petty’s actions resulted in more harsh consequences than he probably expected. After these threats became big news, a Los Angeles federal judge ordered him to serve 120 days of home detention. Maybe this is where the buck stops, but what’s clear is that nobody’s really looking for this to go any further, other than perhaps the 45-year-old. Boosie Badazz is an artist who has been through a lot during his career. Overall, he is someone who has had an ear to the streets for a very long time. This has given him the experience to speak on a whole plethora of situations. Unfortunately, one topic that he understands all too well, is gun violence. Gun violence has claimed the lives of countless people, and Boosie wants to help put an end to it.

In fact, one person who seems to share this goal is none other than Quavo. As we reported, Quavo was recently in Washington where he got to speak to Vice President Kamala Harris. During the meeting, he spoke about the perils of gun violence while invoking the memory of Takeoff. Overall, it was a very powerful statement to make, and Quavo has been getting praise for it. Following the news, Boosie took to Twitter, where he reached out to Harris, and noted that he too would like to take a meeting.

Deion Sanders Tells His Sons They Aren’t Leaving For The NFL Next Year

Deion Sanders intends on getting another year out of his sons in Colorado. While Shilo (senior) and Shedeur (junior) are draft-eligible in 2024, Coach Dad doesn’t seem thrilled at the idea of losing the two key starters. “Shilo said, ‘Oh, wow, Shedeur, look. You gonna be in the NFL next year.’ I said, ’No he ain’t.’ …You all ain’t going nowhere,” Deion said in a video posted by Well Off Media. The comments were made while taking in the Denver Broncos’ loss to the Commanders.

The Sanders brothers have been key additions to a surging Colorado squad this year. Shedeur (QB) has 1251 yards and 10 touchdowns through three games. His respective career bests are 3732 yards and 40 touchdowns. Meanwhile, Shilo (Safety) has 19 tackles and a pick-six. Both would likely be high draft picks if they declared. Pat McAfee has already labeled Shedeur as a top-three pick. However, it appears that they will have to wait until at least 2025 before they leave for the pros. If true, that means they will play a season of Big 12 football before leaving college.

Sanders Praised By Nick Saban

While he may be keeping his kids in school, Sanders is also getting high praise from some of the best coaches in the game. Alabama’s Nick Saban spoke on Sanders during his weekly media availability. “I have a tremendous amount of respect for Deion Sanders. First, he’s a great person and he’s done a great job of marketing the program to create a lot of national interest. But I see their team playing well on the field. They play with discipline, they do a good job of executing, they’ve been able to score points, playing decent on defense. So all those things, to me, are indicators that he’s a really good coach,” Saban told reporters on Wednesday.

Furthermore, Saban noted that this was an opinion he had held prior to Sanders’ arrival in Colorado. “He’s always been successful whether it was Jackson State, high school or now in Colorado. His teams have always been well coached.” Sanders began his coaching journey at his Prime Prep Academy in Texas in 2012. He also coached at Triple A Academy and Trinity Christian Community College before landing the Jackson State job in 2020. He went 27-6 with the SWAC powerhouse.

Caitlyn Jenner Clarifies Kim Kardashian “Calculated” Remark

Caitlyn Jenner claims that a recent remark she made calling Kim Kardashian “calculated” was taken out of context. Instead, Jenner claims that the line was cherry-picked for use in a promo for an upcoming documentary about the Kardashian dynasty. A source close to Jenner told TMZ that while “calculated” may not have been the best choice of words, Jenner’s complimentary comments of Kim had been edited to be more inflammatory. Furthermore, Jenner said the comment was part of a wider reflection on Kardashian’s rise.

The minor controversy sparked last week when it was reported that Jenner had called Kardashian “calculated”. “Kimberly calculated from the beginning, ‘How do I become famous?’” was the quote in full. As mentioned, it stemmed from an early promo for Sky’s House of Kardashian. The series is a new documentary detailing the family’s rise to stardom. Kardashian stans lashed out at Jenner, seeing the quote as an insult against Kardashian. Furthermore, some noted that Jenner was just a part of riding the fame train as any other member of the family.

New Romance For Kim Kardashian?

The clarification comes amid rumors of a new romance for Kim Kardashian. First reported by People, Kardashian has been “hanging out” with Ravens wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr.. This news came around the same time as reports that OBJ had split from long-time partner Lauren Wood. However, a separate source who spoke with TMZ insisted that Kardashian and Beckham Jr. are completely platonic and met through mutual friends.

Furthermore, it’s the first serious rumor about Kardashian’s dating life since her breakup with Pete Davidson in 2022. While the SKIMS founder was linked to Tom Brady earlier in the summer, there was never any meat to those rumors. The story came from a single picture of the two conversing at Michael Rubin’s 4th of July White Party. Additionally, Brady’s relationship with Irina Shayk became apparently pretty soon after that. Halle Bailey and DDG have been together for a while now. However, there are a lot of fans out there who have blasted Bailey for her relationship. Overall, they seem to have a problem with DDG and some of the bars he has rapped in the past. Her fanbase paints him as a corny guy who is also insecure. They have consistently said that she can “do better,” although DDG has been sure to tell those people off. As for Bailey, she ignores the noise and marches to the beat of her own drum, as she should.

In fact, their relationship seems to be going better than ever before. We know this thanks to a recent series of Snapchat videos that DDG posted. As you can see in the compilation reposted by Entertainment Tonight, the YouTuber-turned-rapper wanted to take his girlfriend on a shopping spree. It is a nice gesture, especially when you consider how the rapper has the money to buy some pretty amazing items. However, it seems like DDG was a bit in over his head.

Dillon Danis Claims Logan Paul Uses Steroids

Dillon Danis made several bold claims about Logan Paul. Appearing on an Adin Ross live stream alongside Andrew Tate, Danis’ biggest claim was that Paul was a steroid user. “He’s not a good fighter, he’s a single-shot fighter. He’s on steroids, he’s on EPO. I don’t know what the fuck he’s on,” Danis told the stream. Furthermore, Danis repeated the assertion that the fight would be easy for him. “He’s going to gas out and I’m going to beat the shit out of him. Then we’re going to rematch in MMA and I’m going to choke him out in 20 seconds.”

The claims come a couple of hours after some bombshell claims from Paul. In a video posted to Instagram, Paul claimed that Danis had fight promoter DAZN edit their face-to-face interview for one very particular reason. “He made them cut his stuttering and stumbling over his sentences, looking like a fucking idiot. He made them cut him lying about having some photo and multiple other lies. And most importantly, he made them cut him incriminating himself in a federal crime. I have the version, I have a little clip I’ve assembled and I’ll put that out tomorrow. But I guess he was right, that shit was edited. But don’t worry Dillon, the people are going to see it.” In response, Danis called Paul a “rat” on X. Paul responded in kind, calling Danis a “predator”.

Danis No-Shows Lawsuit Hearing

Elsewhere, Nina Agdal’s restraining order against Danis is now in full effect after the fighter no-showed a court hearing on September 19. He and his associates are now prohibited from posting sexually explicit images of Agdal. If you have forgotten, Agdal, Paul’s fiancee, is currently suing Danis. Agdal’s suit states that she has suffered humiliation, emotional distress, and reputational damage as a result of Danis’ 250+ posts about her. Furthermore, she appeared to invoke state and federal “revenge porn” legislation in response to a nude image of Agdal Danis posted on August 11. “Danis posted the photograph — entirely uncensored — from his X (Twitter) account, without Plaintiff’s consent,” the suit alleges.

Furthermore, Agdal’s suit also addresses a video Danis posted in which she talks about needing sex. Agdal claims that this video was stored “deep in her Snapchat archives” and claims that Danis had hacked [her] personal account or had obtained the private video from someone who had done so.” Agdal is seeking unspecified damages as well as a minimum of $150,000 per proven violation of federal law.
