Stephen A. Smith Tells Joe Budden That Shannon Sharpe Was Being Pushed Out Of “Undisputed”

Stephen A. Smith made some bombshell claims about his new First Take co-host during a recent conversation with Joe Budden. During the podcast episode, Smith claimed that he doesn’t view his acquisition of Shannon Sharpe as poaching or anything like that because Sharpe “didn’t leave of his own volition”. It’s the first major behind-the-scenes claim about the atmosphere at Undisputed prior to Sharpe’s departure.

However, it makes sense. It’s an open secret at this point that Skip Bayless has been seeking more and more control over his flagship show at FS1. It’s likely that Bayless wanted Sharpe out so that he could restructure the show to once again put himself at the top of the pecking order. This is supported by the fact several people were considered and rejected to replace Sharpe and most were rejected on the basis that they would be too much of an equal opponent for Bayless. Instead, Bayless reportedly wants easy wins when it comes to his debate partners.

Sharpe Still Acclimatizing To First Take

Meanwhile, Sharpe appears to still be getting used to his new life at First Take. Earlier this week, Sharpe once again called Smith “Skip” during a debate. While Sharpe was evidently embarrassed about it, Smith brushed it off. It’s happened a couple of times since Sharpe began appearing on the show on September 4. It’s become something of a minor meme at this point. Furthermore, Smith even went as far as to defend Sharpe from the people calling him out about the mistake.

“Will folks calm the F$&@ down please. The man (@ShannonSharpe) worked with Skip for 2 1/2 hours every single weekday for 6 1/2 YEARS! I’m surprised he hasn’t called me Skip more. Honest mistake. Nobody is fazed this way! So long as he shows up to @FirstTake when I ask, we are good! #TRUST,” Smith wrote on X. How do you think Sharpe is doing? Let us know in the comments. 50 Cent Hilariously Responds To Fredro Starr Taking Credit For Michael Jordan’s Baldness

Earlier this year, Fredro Starr made some bold claims about the influence of his group Onyx. According to him, their influence has extended far past the world of music, even reaching NBA star Michael Jordan. “Michael Jordan cut his hair because of us,” Starr he said during an interview with VladTV. “Michael Jordan cut his hair bald because of Onyx.”

A resurfaced clip of Starr’s claims has been circulating, and recently got the attention of 50 Cent. As expected, Fif had to weigh in. “I’m not even gonna say anything because i don’t have [to],” he wrote. “LOL,” he continued, “SMH WTF is wrong with these guys ?” 50 Cent isn’t the only user to have taken issue with Starr’s claims, as countless others shared their thoughts in the comments section. Many note that Jordan’s bald head likely had more to do with genetics than Onyx, also pointing out that the timelines simply don’t line up.

50 Cent Wonders “WTF Is Wrong With These Guys?”

Back in April, Cam’ron and Mase also discussed Starr’s claims during an episode of the It Is What It Is podcast. They too believed influencing Michael Jordan was a stretch. According to ESPN, Jordan shaved his head back in the late 80s, due to the fact that his hairline was starting to recede. This was before Onyx dropped hits like “Slam” and “Throw Ya Gunz.” Cam’ron added, “they super out of pocket [to say they influenced] Michael Jordan.”

In other 50 Cent news, the rapper continued his Final Lap Tour with a show in Edmonton, CA recently. His opening act, however, was prevented from performing by police. According to reports, the department’s anti-gang unit raised some concerns about Pressa, and eventually escorted him out of the venue. DJ Envy Recalls R. Kelly Flying Him Out For Help On An R&B Mixtape

DJ Envy says R. Kelly once flew him out to help work on an R&B mixtape during his early days as a DJ. The Breakfast Club host recalled working with the disgraced musician during a recent sit-down with VladTV. Speaking with the outlet, he revealed that he was only 19 or 20 years old at the time.

“This was the mixtape days,” he began. “So this was when I was like 19, 20. And this is when I was on mixtapes. They reached out to me and R. Kelly wanted to do an R&B mixtape. Flew me out to Chicago. And that was it. That was it. I remember he flew me out on like, a Friday. It sounds crazy saying, ‘flew me out.’ I got flown out on a Friday, I get there, get in the hotel, nice hotel, five-star, everything first class — Friday, nothing. They didn’t return my call. No studio. So, I said alright. And it was supposed to be a weekend thing, so Friday, Saturday, Sunday.”

DJ Envy Reflects On Getting Flown Out By R. Kelly

The interview comes after Envy recently made headlines for feuding with Tyrese on The Breakfast Club. He and his wife, Gia, accused the singer of being “inappropriate.” Tyrese claimed to not know what Envy was referring to, which prompted him to admit he should “box” Tyrese’s mouth. Despite the argument, Envy says he still respects Tyrese for helping him and his wife work on their marriage.

Micah Parsons Puts The Giants On Blast After 40-0 Loss

Dallas Cowboys star Micah Parson has put the New York Giants on blast after helping the Cowboys steamroll the Giants 40-0 this past weekend. “It’s called protecting your guy — something I thought the Giants should have done. I don’t think Daniel Jones should have been in that game in the fourth quarter. I thought they should have protected him and pulled him out. Barring injury, their season would be over without Daniel Jones,” Parsons said on his podcast.

The Cowboys got to Jones seven times during the game, with Parsons himself recording a sack and two QB hits. Despite talking a big game through the offseason about how the Giants had turned a corner last season, the team was completely buried in Week 1. “I do not agree with Daniel Jones staying out there until that last drive, I thought that was wrong. I thought that was deceiving. That’s your franchise quarterback, and he’s out there with a backup offensive line still getting sacked and hit. I just didn’t understand. Maybe it was a prove-it moment by the Giants — I have no idea — a learning lesson, who knows. But I thought Daniel Jones should have got pulled out,” Parsons added.

Giants’ Loss – Blip On The Radar Or Seasonal Foreshadowing?

The 40-0 loss was the worst season-opening loss in Giants history. However, was it just a blip on the radar? After all, a lot of teams struggled in week one. The Bills and Bengals lost despite being Super Bowl contenders. Meanwhile, Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni, despite the Eagles winning, lamented a sloppy performance and blamed his decision not to play starters more during the preseason. Sure, it was a very bad loss for the Giants. However, maybe it was just the Week 1 silly season playing out.

Or maybe it’s a sign of a rough season for the Giants. While they should get a reprieve against the Cardinals in Week 2, the Giants have one of the rougher starts to the season. The Niners, Seahawks, Dolphins, and Bills are all on the schedule. That’s not only a rough schedule, it’s also a great bellwether as to whether the Giants’ 2022 season was a fluke. Giants fans better pray that it wasn’t. After all, many of the team’s key figures are locked into long-term deals. Be sure to follow HotNewHipHop for all the latest sports news.

Fans Remind Jay-Z That Eminem Out-Rapped Him On “The Blueprint”

Jay-Z celebrated the 22-year-anniversary of his 2001 LP, The Blueprint yesterday. Unfortunately, social media users hopped online to remind him that Eminem out-rapped him on his own record. They even compared their “Renegade” collab to 9/11, as the album was released on the same day as the attacks. Though it was far from the first time this argument was brought up, Eminem fans were certainly out in full-force yesterday.

“Y’all remember 9/11 because it was an tragedy on American soil,” one Twitter user writes. “I remember 9/11 because it’s the day Eminem murdered Jay-Z.” It didn’t stop there, however. Another user writes, “Today in History: September 11, 2001 a Horribly tragedy took place in America that humanity will never forget or fully recover from. Jay Z Dropped his Most iconic album ‘The Blueprint’ just for EMINEM to completely wash him on it.” Countless others also weighed in, noting how Snoop Dogg even claimed he wouldn’t put Eminem on one of his songs after watching what happened to Jay-Z on “Renegade.”

Though Eminem fans continue to argue that he got “murdered” on “Renegade,” many continue to believe that Jay-Z is the greatest of all time. Last week, Juvenile spoke on his longstanding debate with Lil Wayne at BMI’s R&B/Hip-Hop Awards in Miami. “We’ve argued over the years,” Juvenile explained. “He say JAY-Z the G.O.A.T., I say he the G.O.A.T. My lil’ bro the greatest rapper of all time. He know how I feel about that.”

The Blueprint‘s anniversary isn’t the only thing Jay-Z celebrated recently. Last week, he also celebrated his wife Beyonce’s birthday. She shared photos from her Renaissance show in LA, posing alongside Jay-Z as she enjoyed her disco ball-themed birthday cake. She recently brought her world tour to LA for the first time, which of course brought in a slew of celebrity guests. Her husband was even spotted teaching Kris Jenner how to do the electric slide in the audience.
