Bobby Shmurda’s First Day Out Revealed In “Welcome Home” Doc

With Bobby Shmurda’s release from a six-year prison bid captivating the hip-hop community, Karen Civil and her production company Civil TV released the official Welcome Home Bobby Shmurda documentary, designed to capture the beloved rapper’s first day out. Boasting strong production value and cinematography from Destiny Fulfilled, Welcome Home begins but contextualizing Bobby’s impact on the New York scene following the arrival of “Hot N***a” and “Shmoney Dance.”

In the doc, footage of Shmurda touching down to find a collection of platinum plaques waiting for him can be seen in high quality, as can behind-the-scenes shots from his recent GQ interview with Quavo alongside him. From the look of it, Shmurda’s spirits are infectiously high throughout as he reflects on some of the insights he gained in prison, including the mentality that many in jail don’t understand their worth as individuals. Though the clip cuts off before he can really delve deeper, it’s a testament to how he views the world at large.

The video also features an appearance from Fabolous, who offers a few words on the importance of Bobby Shmurda’s release. “Bobby being home is impactful for the city in a time where the city been in a lot of headlines because of a lot of different things,” explains Fab. “It’s really solid that we get somebody representing the other side. The side that’s rarely highlighted in this era. He’s going to bring that energy to this era. The drill scene has been really missing his music.”

Air Jordan 3 To Receive Unique “Pine Green” Model: Details

This past week has been filled with new Air Jordan teasers as it seems like new information continues to leak from the walls of Jordan Brand. While teasers can sometimes come in small waves, it appears as though a tidal wave of new models has been discussed on the internet, and now, all of the Instagram sneaker insiders are drafting up photoshop renderings of what these designs will look like. One of the latest models to receive this treatment is the Air Jordan 3, which is supposed to be coming out in a “Pine Green” makeup.

Thanks to the Instagram account @zsneakerheadz, we now have a solid idea of what this “Pine Green” colorway will look like, as you can see in the post below. The shoe will have a black upper, while the overlays on the toe box and back heel will feature that signature elephant print look that the Jordan 3 is known for. The pine green portion of the sneaker is found near the cuff, as well as the laces and Jumpman logo. Ironically enough, pine green makes up a fairly low percentage of the actual shoe.

The post below indicates that this model will be dropping on November 13th although there is no guarantee this will happen as Jumpman has yet to make an official announcement. Stay tuned to HNHH over the coming months, as we will be sure to bring you the latest on these.

Pooh Shiesty’s Brother Dead From Brain Cancer: Report

Rapper Pooh Shiesty’s brother, known publicly as Tee Da P, reportedly passed away recently after a long battle with brain cancer. There have been reports circulating that the rising Memphis artist‘s brother was killed in a shooting, but according to Say Cheese TV and No Jumper, that information is false.

The “Back In Blood” rapper was supposed to perform this weekend in Savannah, Georgia but the show was canceled so he could spend time with his family. Say Cheese TV reportedly confirmed with Pooh and Tee’s father that the cause of death was brain cancer.

Tee Da P had reportedly been in the hospital for a while, receiving treatment for cancer. He released some music in his young career, most notably dropping the song “Pimpin Ain’t Dead”.

Pooh Shiesty has not made any public statements regarding the reported death of his brother. The rapper has been experiencing a lot of success recently, arguably becoming one of the biggest rappers of this year with the release of his Shiesty Season debut. To learn more about the buzzing artist, read our new interview with him, published this morning, here.

Rest in peace, Tee Da P. Our condolences go out to Pooh and the rest of Tee’s family.

Cardi B Is Eying A Lizzo Collaboration But Also Wants Her Fans To Chill About It

Like many of us, Cardi B is a big Lizzo fan, as she has expressed on multiple occasions. She did so again over the weekend, which actually led to a bit of an annoying moment for Cardi.

Yesterday, Cardi tweeted a diverse gallery of Lizzo photos and wrote, “These pics do it for me.” Naturally, as tends to happen when one artist shouts out another, fans were quick to flood Cardi’s notifications with requests/demands that she and Lizzo collaborate. One person replied, “now drop that collab with her,” to which Cardi responded, “Can I do a song first thst I can put her on.” Somebody responded to that tweet, “YESSS WE WANT A COLLAB,” and Cardi answered, “Ok but stop pressuring me to do stuff .I can’t even show love to people with 100 collab collab collab.”

A handful of months ago, Cardi revealed that she actually tried to get Lizzo involved with her “WAP” video, but unfortunately, she was unable to take part due to a scheduling conflict. She also called Lizzo “the [nicest] person in the world” after she received flowers from her amid her divorce.

Nipsey Hussle Received A Shout Out In A Golden Globe Winner’s Acceptance Speech

The late, great Nipsey Hussle’s influence is undeniable. Not only did he leave a mark locally before his death in 2019, but he also continues to have a massive impact on pop culture after it. While he continues to receive reverent tributes from friends and admirers like LeBron James and Barrack Obama, his name also occasionally pops up in unusual circumstances — even for a self-made mogul whose funeral procession shut down the city of Los Angeles and whose memorial service filled the Staples Center.

Daniel Kaluuya, one of the stars of the thriller Judas And The Black Messiah, shouted out Nipsey Hussle during his acceptance speech at last night’s virtual Golden Globes ceremony. After winning Best Supporting Actor for his role as Black Panther Illinois chapter chairman Fred Hampton, Kaluuya quoted Nipsey, explaining how Nip’s worldview shaped his superb performance. “I gave everything,” he said. “Like the great Nipsey Hussle says, we’re here to give until we’re empty.”

Nipsey also appears on the film’s companion album alongside a slew of hip-hop all-stars, including Jay-Z, with whom Nipsey shared their first-ever collaboration, “What It Feels Like.”

T.I. And His Wife Tiny Are Being Accused Of Sexual Assault By A Lawyer Seeking Criminal Investigations

Atlanta trap rap godfather T.I. and his wife Tiny are being accused of multiple accounts of sexual assault, according to the New York Times, which reports that a lawyer has reached out to law enforcement in two states, urging authorities to pursue criminal charges. Although rumors about the couple’s alleged abuse have circulated for weeks on social media, criminal charges have yet to be filed.

Tyrone A. Blackburn, a lawyer representing 11 people who claim to have been victimized by the couple or their entourage, sent letters to state and federal prosecutors in California and Georgia on February 19, where the assaults allegedly took place. Four women accuse T.I. and Tiny of drugging and sexually assaulting them. The letter describes an “eerily similar” pattern in which multiple women, who do not know each other, allege “sexual abuse, forced ingestion of illegal narcotics, kidnapping, terroristic threats and false imprisonment” by the celebrity couple.

However, a lawyer for T.I. and Tiny dismissed the allegations, calling them “nothing more than the continuation of a sordid shakedown campaign that began on social media and now attempts to manipulate the press and misuse the justice system.”

Further complicating the issue is that many of the incidents described are either approaching or past the statutes of limitation in those states; Blackburn says the women feared coming forward previously because of T.I.’s fearsome reputation and past gun convictions.

The charges first emerged on social media several weeks ago, as first one woman, then others posted to Instagram and Twitter sharing their claims of abuse by T.I. and Tiny. Although T.I. refuted the allegations in his own video, accounts like The Shade Room magnified the accusations, prompting MTV Entertainment to postpone production of the VH1 show T.I. & Tiny: Friends & Family Hustle.

The Times reports speaking with several of the women, who described their experiences in further detail here.

Kyle Kuzma Comments On Being Demoted To The Bench

Kyle Kuzma’s time with the Los Angeles Lakers has been interesting, to say the least. The Lakers star has been heavily criticized at times for his play while on other nights, Kuzma is getting showered with praise as some believe he is the team’s closer. With LeBron James and Anthony Davis on the team, Kuzma has taken a bit of a backseat but when Davis went down with an injury last month, Kuzma was promoted and placed in the starting lineup.

Now, however, Kuzma is back on the bench even though Davis isn’t back in the lineup. This is an obvious demotion for a player who has struggled to live up to the expectations that were thrust upon him after his first two seasons in the league. Following last night’s win against the Golden State Warriors, Kuzma spoke out about his demotion and what it will mean going forward.

“I just gotta control what I can control,” Kuzma said. Based on these comments, it is clear that Kuzma is frustrated with his current predicament although he is well-aware that if he starts to improve his play, he can easily get back into the starting rotation.

As the season goes on, the Lakers will need Kuzma to sure up their depth and once the playoffs come around, he will be instrumental in their success. Hopefully, he finds a way to turn things around.

Rihanna Gets “Savage AF” With Bikini Thirst Trap

Flowers will soon be blooming as springtime inches closer, and you all know what that means. Not only are days getting longer with the sun setting at a later time on the daily, but Rihanna is back at it with her Savage X Fenty grind, sharing new bikini photos and hawking her latest collection of swimwear.

Roy Rochlin/Getty Images

After reportedly dropping her luxury Fenty line with LVNH in favor of a focus on Savage X Fenty, her existing lingerie and undergarments brand, Rihanna is getting a headstart on her upcoming springtime offering, making sure that we’re all ready for the upcoming months. On Sunday night, the Bajan Beauty posted a new picture of herself in a floral bikini with a matching beach cover-up for when the wind starts getting too strong. The stylized shoot was edited to seem vintage, directing fans to her website to buy the new pieces.

For the last few years, Rihanna has been modeling her own gear, alongside Savage X Fenty ambassadors like Denise Bidot, Cuban Link, Saweetie, Kehlani, Rico Nasty, and more. It’s not uncommon for her to upload new photos when a new season comes along, also going hard for American holidays.

What do you think of Rihanna’s latest bikini photoshoot?

Lil Baby Goes Triple Platinum On Anniversary

Lil Baby’s My Turn may only be a year old, but that hasn’t stopped the acclaimed project from becoming one of the biggest hip-hop hits in recent memory. At least commercially speaking, with tracks like “Woah,” “Emotionally Scarred,” and “The Bigger Picture” continuing to rack up streams to this day. With yesterday marking the album’s first anniversary, Baby’s milestone was made all the more memorable as he scored another notable accomplishment in the process.

Lil Baby

 Paras Griffin#SPORT/Getty Images

As it happens, My Turn receieved its third platinum certification from the RIAA on the exact same day that it turned one. The update comes a few months after the project went double platinum in September; before that, My Turn went platinum on May 15th. Should Baby keep up the same pace, perhaps we’ll see the project hit quadruple platinum before the summer is up, should My Turn indeed have the mileage.

It should be noted that the new calculation method for “album-equivalent units” is a far cry from how things used to be in the CD era. Where one used to buy a complete album and have it count toward the total tally, now, a single or standout track can go platinum long before the album from whence it came. On that note, lead single “Woah” was already platinum upon the release of My Turn, though My Turn only secured its own platinum status a few months down the line.

Either way, Lil Baby’s milestones are impressive, especially when they are so serendipitously timed. Congratulations to the Quality Control superstar, and be sure to chime in with your predictions on how far My Turn can go.
