Tee Grizzley Urges Rappers To Get Life Insurance & To Write A Will

People don’t like to think of death, but Tee Grizzley believes it’s time to get over our own fears in order to take care of business. The Detroit rapper has built his career from the ground up and has suffered a tragedy or two in his own life, so he took to social media recently to give a bit of advice to his fellow artists who he believes need to get things straightened out behind the scenes.

“So look, right. As rappers, as successful Black men from the trenches, bro. We the number one target and we the least prepared, you feel me? So, I feel like everybody should have life insurance. I need everybody to go get life insurance if you ain’t got it. If you got kids, I need you to get a will set up, bro, for your kids, bro.”

“God forbid anything happen,” he continued, adding that it’s all about making sure that your loved ones aren’t scrambling to piece things together if something were to occur. “You know what I’m saying? We the number one target and the least prepared. I need us to get on top of this sh*t. We need to get life insurance. We need to get our wills right, so the next generation don’t have to go as hard as we did and have to go through everything we did, you feel me.”

He also encouraged people to leave comments on his post “if you know something that could help us for the future, for our family.” Watch Tee Grizzley give his advice below.

Quando Rondo Questions Why Outlets Are Focused On His Life More Than Music

The murder of King Von was an unexpected tragedy that could have been prevented, but Quando Rondo has repeatedly questioned why people have blamed him for the Chicago rapper’s death. Quando has found his name entangled in the scandal since he was at the scene of Von’s shooting death and his friend was arrested in connection with the crime. This has forced Quando Rondo’s personal life to supersede news about his music releases, and it was recently shared that his latest project Still Taking Risks was only expected to sell 9,000 copies its first week.

In an interview with Rah Ali for OnSite, Quando discussed publications and news outlets that have been reporting on his life more than his art.

“I feel like the internet, I feel like social media, I feel like interviewers, YouTubers whatever, however, whoever it is, I feel like they focus more on the artist life more than they music,” said Rondo. “That’s kinda crazy. That’s like working at McDonald’s and yo manager asking you about yo girlfriend or if you a girl, asking about your boyfriend every day. Why you not asking me about burgers?”

Rah laughed as she corrected his comparison and told him “it’s a little different” but admitted that his example was “funny as hell.” She added,  “Because on social media, a lot of times, you know, artists, they lead with that. People connect with you, yeah, on a music level, then they get interested in who you are ’cause they start to feel like what you speak about in your music, whether you’re an R&B artist or rapper, they feel like that’s who you are.”

Quando understood her point but was unmoved. “Yeah, but listen. At the end of the day, you can’t get it confused. You can’t feel like, alright, I respect like, say if I’m on a corner and somebody be like, ‘Let me take a picture with you.’ I can’t just be like, ‘Nah.’ Because at the same time, I’mma artist like you just said. They feel like they know me. ‘Feel like’ and ‘do know’ is two different things.”

NBA YoungBoy Confirms Baby With Jazlyn Mychelle, Begs Her Not To Leave Him

This recent message isn’t the first that the public has received from NBA YoungBoy but it arguably the longest. The rapper continues his stint behind bars on federal weapons charges, and while his legal team works around the clock to make sure he’ll be enjoying his freedom soon, his loved ones have shared bits and pieces of their contact with YoungBoy. In a new message shared today (May 14), he seems to confirm that he does have another child on the way with girlfriend Jazlyn Mychelle following rumors of her pregnancy while he expresses his frustrations with feeling alone in the world.

“I have a hard time paying attention i then gave and i then been there for people without having nobody to be there for me even with people i talk to now if they wasn’t waiting to receive or been giving something already they wouldn’t be here,” YoungBoy began.

“Im a man before anything,” he continued. “I had to apologize to myself for not protecting my heart and allowing most of this to happen i read letters from my supporters and find joy inside and yes i said that right (my supporters) yall are not fans we scream F.A.N together (f*ck a n*gga) LOL but all jokes aside i ain’t got nothing against nobody i dont want no problem neither just stop speaking on me we don’t concern each other.”

“I really just want to be there when my daughter born i want to be in the same house as her while she grow up i never had that experience,” said YoungBoy. “Jaz im sorry (ma’ma) i promise im sorry for every time i said something to another woman for every time they ever gotten the chance to come around ill give you anything for you not to leave anything to have you when its all said and done.”

He added that he’s “good” and gave love to “the ones who really wish for the best for me.” Check out the post below.

Cordae Explains Why So Many Rappers End Up With Bad Record Deals

Many artists that are new to the Rap game are just happy to get recognition. Thousands of artists peddle their music online in hopes of one day making it big—either independently or by being signed to a label. They want to emulate their favorite rappers who they see flashing cash, riding around in fancy cars, jet-setting around the globe, or lounging in luxury homes. Unfortunately, some rappers on the rise get taken advantage of because they’re quick to ink a deal without reading the fine print of their contracts.

Cordae is mapping out his future in the music industry and unlike many of his fellow artists, he’s meticulously planning a career that goes beyond the release of the moment. It’s reported that Cordae launched his own record label, and recently, he sat down with the Earn Your Leisure Podcast where he discussed why so many rappers end up regretting their contracts.

“Most n*ggas get into bad deals ’cause they like, man, f*ck it. ‘I know it’s a bad deal but n*gga I’mma get in, this gonna get me in the game, I don’t got sh*t right now, and I’ll cross that bridge when it comes. I’ll worry about that sh*t later,'” said Cordae. “Most people don’t even have the business acumen or the access to the information, you get what I’m saying, or knowledge.”

“You have to do the research and the knowledge on it,” he continued. “So, most people come into the game, like I said, not even on that mindset and not having the business acumen to even think about ownership, owning my masters, making sure the percentages are right, the longevity.” Cordae’s friend and former YBN groupmate YBN Nahmir recently made claims that there were veterans in the industry who took advantage of them, and YBN Almighty Jay also took to his Instagram to call out people who he claimed did him wrong.

Check out Cordae’s interview in its entirety below.

Kevin Garnett Divulges On The Biggest Regret In His Career

Kevin Garnett will be inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame tomorrow and Celtics fans are excited to see him get honored. He is a legendary player in the history of that franchise and he was able to bring the team a championship back in 2008. As a result, Garnett is highly regarded as one of the best players to put on the Celtics jersey, which puts him up there with some elite company.

Garnett, Kobe Bryant, and Tim Duncan are the big three being inducted tomorrow, and ahead of the festivities, Garnett has been offering some insight into his career. In an article from Boston.com, Garnett even got to speak about some of his regrets and how they related to his time in Boston.

Kevin Garnett

“You come into the NBA wanting to win, and losing is part of it, but that doesn’t mean you have to accept it,” Garnett said. “Getting with a storied franchise like Boston gave me life, gave me breath and gave me purpose. The players that you’re playing actually made the experience monumental, made it magical. The city was waiting for something big, or something different to happen versus where it was, and when we went, we just never looked back. My only regret in any of this is that I should’ve came to Boston a little earlier. But other than that, it was magical.”

While he may regret not coming to Boston sooner, there is no doubt that he made the most of his opportunity. On Saturday, those efforts will be rewarded in the most prestigious way possible.

JT Attacked By Barbz Who Think She’s Shading Nicki Minaj

Friday (May 14) has been flooded with new music as artists are showing up and showing out just ahead of the Summer months. J. Cole has been receiving praise regarding his album The Off-Season and Nicki Minaj surprised her Barbz by putting her 2009 mixtape Beam Me Up Scotty on streaming services. The fan-favorite arrived with new tracks including “Seeing Green” which found Nicki reuniting with her YMCMB family, Drake and Lil Wayne.

As Nicki has been a trending topic on various platforms, City Girls star JT popped up on Twitter to share that she has something positive happening in her life. “Good news. >,” JT tweeted, suggesting that whatever “good news” she has to share trump all else. However, the Barbz were quick to react and interpreted the message as the rapper suggesting that Megan Thee Stallion’s album, Good News, was better than Nicki’s release.

Of course, JT didn’t say anything about Minaj or Megan, but Nicki’s fans went on to reply with cruel comments, hateful remarks, and malicious memes by the thousands. “Y’all are really really weird & when y’all find out the actual good news,” JT tweeted in response to the strange backlash she’d received. “Y’all gone feel real sh*tty! Like I swear my mind don’t be in Stan account mode, I’m an actual person!”

JT has been the subject of ongoing negativity since she and boyfriend Lil Uzi Vert confirmed their relationship. Check out her tweets and some of the responses she received below.
