Cam Johnson’s Dunk On PJ Tucker Has Fans Singing His Praises

Throughout the Phoenix Suns’ playoff run, there have been numerous players who have come out and shown that they are much more than just role players. Cam Johnson is certainly one of those guys as he has been simply lights out for this Suns squad. No one saw his ascension coming and in the NBA Finals, he has been fantastic. While he might not be the biggest contributor, his play has given the Suns confidence and when you’re battling for a championship, that kind of addition to the game is always a welcomed sight.

Last night, the Suns fell to the Bucks in Milwaukee, and now, the Suns’ lead in the Finals has been cut to 2-1. Giannis had himself yet another 40-point game, however, the one highlight everyone is talking about came from Johnson.

In the Twitter clip below, Johnson was running down the court with no one but PJ Tucker in his way. That’s when Johnson decided to leap through the air and dunk all over Tucker, with his groin in the Bucks star’s face. It was easily the best dunk of the entire NBA playoffs and it led to an appropriate response on social media as fans began to applaud Johnson for both his athleticism and his confidence at that moment.

Sure, the Suns didn’t win but if you can produce the best highlight of the game, then you can be sure people are going to talk about you. Let us know what you thought of the dunk, in the comments below.

G Herbo Secures Highest-Charting Debut With “25”

G Herbo might not be one of hip-hop’s most consistent commercial heavyweights, but that doesn’t mean his fanbase won’t step up and rally behind the Chi-town rapper when it counts.

On July 2nd, Herbo unleashed his new album 25, featuring guest appearances from Gunna, Polo G, 21 Savage, Rowdy Rebel, Lil Tjay, and The Kid LAROI. Though initial reports indicated that the project risked underperforming on the sales front, that’s not to suggest that Herbo’s latest was anywhere close to a flop.

In fact, with a first-week tally of 46,000 album-equivalent units sold, the project ultimately debuted in the number five spot on the Billboard charts. While he has seen higher sales with his previous PTSD album, which actually secured the seventh position in March 2020 with 59,000 album-equivalent units, 25 has officially given Herbo his highest-charting album debut. The accomplishment also marks the second time Herbo has cracked the Top 10.

Perhaps we’ll see 25 gaining steam and popularity as the weeks move on; it would certainly be welcome to see the project set up camp in the Top 10 and enjoy an extended stay. It’s impressive to see how far Herbo has come as an artist these past few years, and it’s clear that his unique style and no-holds-barred authenticity have served him well. Congratulations to G Herbo for this latest milestone — are you still keeping 25 on rotation?

21 Savage May Have Found His Latest Hustle

21 Savage may have just found his latest hustle, expressing interest in becoming a pilot after learning how much they make per hour.

In the last year, there have been several reports about a possible pilot shortage in the coming years as air travel remains one of the most popular forms of long-term transportation. After one person commented on the potential shortage of people flying our planes and remarked the salary that most pilots get — which can sometimes be upwards of $247 per hour — rapper 21 Savage (and hundreds of other people) started to seriously consider a career change.

It looks like a new generation of pilots may be hungry to get started on their training because after a tweet went viral about how much pilots can earn, everybody is heading to their nearest flight simulator to get learning. Even 21 Savage says he’s been taking notes on his private plane, possibly looking to get behind the wheel and earn some additional investment money.

“Apparently there’s a pilot shortage going on so now, apparently, they’re paying new hires $247 an hour,” tweeted @sayproduceralli this week. “That’s why I’m working on my private now,” commented 21 Savage when the tweet was posted by The Shade Room.

With the right training, do you think 21 Savage could follow in Ludacris’ footsteps and become the next rapper-pilot?

Giannis Antetokounmpo Reacts To Yet Another 40-Point Performance

Coming into Game 3 of the NBA Finals last night, there was a lot of pressure on Giannis Antetokounmpo to perform. After going down 2-0 to the Phoenix Suns on the road, the Bucks had to win in Game 3 at home in order to avoid a disastrous hole in the series. No team has ever come back from a 0-3 deficit in NBA history which ultimately made last night’s match that much more important.

In Game 2, Giannis had himself a 40-point game, and in Game 3, he hit the 40-point mark once again, although this time, his team was able to pick up the win. Players like Jrue Holiday and Khris Middleton had solid games, all while Giannis joined the likes of Shaq and LeBron James as the only players in NBA history to have back-to-back 40-point/10-rebound games in the NBA Finals. It was a tremendous achievement, and after the game, Giannis remained humble, as always.

“I just read each possession at a time,” Giannis told ESPN. “Sometimes, I’m going to be aggressive for two minutes straight. Sometimes, I’m not. Because the ball is not in my hands because Khris [Middleton] is being aggressive at that time or Jrue. Each possession, each time of the game, it’s different. I’m not planning what I do. I’m just trying to be out there, trying to take it a possession at a time, try to enjoy the game, try to make the right play.”

Now, the Bucks are only down 2-1 in the series and they have a chance to tie things up on Wednesday night as Game 4 goes down in Milwaukee. The Bucks have been phenomenal at home while the Suns tend to falter on the road. With this in mind, Giannis and company have an incredible opportunity at their fingertips.

Needless to say, the Finals just got interesting.

Freddie Gibbs Warms Up For “SSS” With “2021 NBA Freestyle”

When it comes to releasing quality albums, Freddie Gibbs may very well be the most consistent rapper in the game. Currently on a streak riding Pinata, Shadow Of A Doubt, You Only Live 2wice, Fetti, Freddie, Bandana, and Alfredo, few have managed to balance a prolific work ethic with such an incredible level of quality.

And it’s only going to get better, as Gibbs is currently readying the release of his upcoming album SSS, an acronym for Soul Sold Separately. While details aren’t entirely revealed, Gibbs has teased that the “classic” will feature production from Pharrell, Madlib, Working On Dying, The Alchemist, Sevn Thomas, Hit-Boy, Mike Will Made-It, and possibly Metro Boomin

Ahead of the big release, Gibbs has opted to warm up with a quick “NBA Finals Freestyle,” teaming up with Genius and ESPN for the occasion. While conceptually tethered to the ongoing NBA finals, Gibbs is, well, Gibbs. No stranger to referencing Giannis Antekumpo — lest we forget the Bandana highlight “Giannis” — Gibbs carried on tradition with some basketball-centric bars.

“Ayo, Suns and Bucks, who would have thunk, I knew it was going down on the Ayton game-winning dunk,” he raps. “And they say they want the W, competition ain’t never took em / hit the perimeter then we shook em like Devin Brooker / line it up, we bout to get lit after the tip /either way it go we bout to see Chris get to the chip.”

Though only a little under a minute, Gibbs makes the most of the occasion with a welcome display of skill and clever references. Check out his new “NBA Finals Freestyle,” and be sure to keep an eye out for his upcoming SSS album, arriving later this year.

Taina Clears The Air After Blocking G Herbo On IG

After rapper G Herbo was spotted at his ex-girlfriend’s party this weekend, nosy fans noticed that his current girlfriend Taina Willians unfollowed him on social media, potentially spelling some issues in their relationship. Whenever someone gets the block, that means there’s generally something wrong. However, in Taina and Herbo’s case, this appears to just be a temporary means for them to get some space from one another, as Taina has explained that there’s nothing serious going on between the two lovebirds.

Taina and G Herbo, who just welcomed their baby boy Essex into the world a few weeks ago, appear to still be doing well after this weekend’s drama — or at least, that’s what Taina wants us to believe. After it was widely reported that she had unfollowed her rapper boyfriend, Taina jumped into the comments section to clear up what had happened, explaining that she blocked G Herbo but it’s not a permanent thing.

“[laughing emojis]… That’s still my man he just blocked,” she wrote on Instagram. “Nothing to see here [heart-face emoji].”

Many believed that Taina unfollowed G Herbo after he showed up at Ari Fletcher’s party this weekend, and while their disagreement may have stemmed from that, it doesn’t seem to be a major issue for them. Herbo has a son with Ari from a previous relationship.

Check out Taina’s response below and let us know if you think they’ll make it through this.

Ronda Rousey Expresses Admiration For Conor McGregor

In light of Conor McGregor’s gruesome ankle injury at UFC 264, the whole world has been against him as of late. Most fans on social media have lost patience with the star, all while fellow UFC fighters believe he can no longer be a high-level star in the sport. It’s a sad fall from grace for a star who is supposed to be one of the greatest in the history of the entire UFC.

Fortunately for McGregor, there are still some people who are left in his corner, and one of them is none other than former UFC superstar Ronda Rousey. Like McGregor, Rousey suffered some pretty bad defeats in the Octagon following her reign of terror, and eventually, it led her to the WWE. As she noted on Twitter, McGregor is an inspiration and his ability to move forward is what will put him on top again.

“I’m amazed that as soon as you hit the ground you were already promoting the next fight @TheNotoriousMMA – I def wouldn’t have had the mind to do that. The other fighters, @ufc and media are lucky to have you,” Rousey wrote. Following his three-and-a-half-hour surgery, McGregor saw the kind words and replied to Rousey saying “Thank you for the message Ronda! I appreciate it greatly.”

In a recent video on social media, McGregor revealed that he would be on crutches for six weeks and then after that, he would be able to properly rehab his leg. This means we probably won’t see McGregor again in 2021, however, there is a real possibility we get him back in shape by early to mid-2022.

Let us know in the comments below who you think McGregor should fight next.
