Nivea Praised By Lil Wayne’s Other BMs Lauren London & Toya Johnson For Kandi Burrus Interview

The evolution of Nivea’s career is something that the singer hopes to use to help others. She burst onto the music scene decades ago, delivering hits like “Don’t Mess With My Man” and “Laundromat,” or singing the hook for Mystikal’s “Danger,” and while she was loved by fans, Nivea faced a series of obstacles in her personal life. She has been candid about her struggles with substance abuse and balancing motherhood after welcoming her children with Lil Wayne and ex-husband, The-Dream.

Nivea recently caught up with Xscape’s Kandi Burruss for her show On That Note where the singer detailed her experiences. The chat clocked in over an hour long as she divulged all things related to her life and career. Nivea shared a teaser about the interview on her Instagram page and received a warm response, notably from some of the other mothers of Weezy’s children.

“I only share to inspire… Each and every one of us are WORTHY, VALUABLE, & CAPABLE of overcoming ANYTHING!!!” Nivea wrote in the caption to her video. Soon, Lauren London chimed in, “Love you . You are pure magic and strength [butterfly emoji][blue heart emoji].” Nivea gave thanks and told London, “I love you moreeee! [red heart emoji].”

Toya Johnson also sent a message of love by writing, “Great interview. So proud of you,” and the singer once again showed her appreciation for the kind words. Kandi was praised for the in-depth interview by several of her fellow celebrities, but she didn’t want to take the credit. After The Shade Room reposted Nivea’s clip, the Real Housewives of Atlanta star hopped in the comments to sing her friend’s praises.

“I loved @thisisnivea before but even more now after hearing some of what she’s been through!” said Burruss. “She was really brave opening up the way she did. Y’all can see the whole thing on my Youtube page KandiOnline. Everybody please give her all the love & support she deserves!”

Jack Harlow Feels “Blessed To Have A Voice” As A White Rapper In This Era Of Rap

It’s common to see White rappers stake their claim in the industry and even excel above their Black counterparts. While it’s still a polarizing discussion that often ignites conversations about skill, style, and authenticity, fans have celebrated artists of all backgrounds in the Rap game for decades. Jack Harlow is Generation Now’s hitmaker that was steadily growing his buzz over the past few years, but when his breakout “What’s Poppin” dominated social media, the Kentucky native’s star reached new heights.

There was a debate among Rap fans this year after the BET Awards released their nominations, showing that Harlow had received three nods while other popular Black artists weren’t recognized. In a recent chat with Yahoo, Harlow spoke about being accepted within the Rap fold by his Black peers, as well as fans who have embraced his talents.

“I feel blessed to have a voice in this period because, one, I’m not a street artist, and two, I’m not Black,” said Harlow. “The only thing keeping me here right now is that level of authenticity, of being myself.” Speaking specifically about Hip Hop’s transition from the 2008 to 2011 era, he added, “All of this stuff was coming into the fold and it had this energy surrounding it of, ‘We’re letting the White kids come to the party. We’re all in this together.'”

Harlow had conversations with fellow Kentucky rapper Nemo Achida about this more recent shift, especially as it pertains to the energy of protests and civil rights within Hip Hop. “[Achida] feels like the country going into these new civil rights moments almost shifted away from, ‘Let’s have the White boy at the party,” Harlow said. “It became less about let’s all be diverse together and turned back into Hip Hop being, ‘It needs to be a Black genre.’ That’s just been the natural transformation of things, I think.”

In 2020, Harlow took to the streets with thousands of others who marched against police brutality and for justice for Breonna Taylor. He told Yahoo that it was a “no-brainer” for him to advocate for Taylor, especially considering that the incident took place in his home state.

Chicago Rapper KTS Dre Shot 64 Times Outside Of Jail: Report

A brazen shooting outside of a Chicago jail has shaken the city. The Windy City has often been the topic of discussions regarding gun violence, and the attack that occurred over the weekend further presses the conversation. According to the Chicago Tribune, Londre Sylvester, known by his rap moniker KTS Dre, was being released from the Cook County jail on Saturday (July 10) evening when several suspects opened fire. Sylvester had only made it across the street from the jail when he was reportedly shot upwards of 64 times.

There were two other victims injured during the shooting, but they are expected to recover.

One victim was a 60-year-old woman reportedly with Sylvester who was shot in the knee and the other was a 30-year-old woman who just happened to be nearby. It is reported that a bullet grazed her mouth. The rapper’s injuries were, expectedly, extensive as he was shot in his head and body.

“It appears Sylvester was the intended target while (the women) were inadvertently struck,” a police report shows. Following the attack, the Tribune states that the suspects jumped into their vehicles and sped off in differing directions. Sylvester had been released on bail with electronic monitoring. Last month, the rapper was accused of violating the conditions of his bail stemming from a gun charge last year.

Investigators are looking into surveillance footage around the jail and nearby businesses. Check out a local report about the incident below.

Latto Questioned About DreamDoll’s 21 Savage “Tryouts” Lyric

Aa mention by DreamDoll has reignited the rumors regarding Latto’s mystery man. Earlier this year, Latto created a stir after she revealed that she was happily in love and it didn’t take long before her fans hopped online with guesses as to who it could be. Soon, Latto found her social media pages scrutinized for any hint as to who it could be, but most people concluded that it was either Key Glock or 21 Savage.

After DreamDoll shared her single “Tryouts,” Latto rumors only intensified after the New York rapper mentioned the Queen of Da Souf star. “And Mulatto, yeah, that’s my little honey bun / Asked her how many times she came, she said, ’21, 21.’

It was an inclusion that wasn’t missed by fans and in a recent interview, Latto was asked about her thoughts regarding the lyric. “I think the whole song is dope. I think DreamDoll is dope and I’m so proud of her elevation,” Latto told TwoBeesTV. “She come from a reality TV show, I come from a reality TV show, so it’s like, I’m rooting for her.”

TwoBeesTV pressed Latto about the lyrics, and it seemed that she either wasn’t aware of what DreamDoll said or Latto was just playing coy. “I don’t know, I might need to play it again or something,” she said with a smile.

Halle Bailey Wraps Filming “The Little Mermaid”: “We Have Finally Made It”

As her sister strips down for social media and gets sexy for the ‘Gram, Halle Bailey has finished filming her next project. The Chloe x Halle singer was first cast in The Little Mermaid live-action film in 2019, and after news of Halle’s lead role was shared the following year, the singer faced backlash from purists who believed that Ariel should be portrayed by a White, red-haired woman.

“We’ve always learned to just keep our heads up no matter the situation,” she said of the criticism last year. “No matter what anybody has to say about you…just keep pushing.”

Earlier today (July 12), Halle Bailey returned to Instagram to announced that filming has wrapped and while there, she dropped off a lengthy caption regarding the entire process. “I feel so grateful to have experienced this film in all of its glory,” she wrote. “It has been the toughest experience being away from everything and everyone i’ve ever known, to feeling self doubt/ loneliness, but also feeling such freedom and perseverance as i’ve reached the end.”

Halle added that “this experience has made me so much stronger” before praising her castmates by name.  She called them “masters of their craft” who “are so welcoming and open to little old me..as well as to the rest of the beautiful cast and crew.” Just like her fans, Halle can’t wait to see the end result.

Blac Chyna Faces Rumors From Hairstylist That She’s Engaged

If rumors are to be believed, Blac Chyna will soon be walking down the aisle. Celebrities often go the extra mile to keep their personal lives private, but hairstylist Jayy may have spilled the beans about Blac Chyna. Last year, the reality star mogul surfaced on social media with images that suggested she was in a relationship with rapper Lil Twin, and recently, a video of Chyna snuggled up with her man circulated online.

As the public continued to gossip about the mother of two’s latest relationship, Jayy took to his Instagram Story with an announcement.

“Happy to say that @blacchyna has now confirmed booked and sent deposit to me as the one who’s going to be doing her hair for her upcoming wedding,” the hairstylist wrote alongside ring and bride emojis. Chyna’s fans were quick to call him out for not allowing the star to share the good news herself. However, others were quick to point out that some celebrities have often purposefully used others to share news such as this.

The Sun quickly contacted Blac Chyna’s mother Tokyo Toni to ask about her feelings regarding her daughter’s alleged upcoming nuptials. “Today was my first time hearing about it. I’m shocked,” Toni reportedly stated. She also gave a timeline of her daughter’s relationship.

“She’s with Lil Twin. They’ve been together about two years or so now,” Tokyo added. She denied any information that Chyna was pregnant and reiterated that she is unaware of an engagement. “I’ve met him and I think he’s a pretty good fit. I even met his mom, they’re a pretty cool family. I wouldn’t be against it.”

“They seem to be very, very happy & content.” Chyna has yet to respond to the rumors. Check out a few posts below.
