Alina Baraz Returns With Another Melodic R&B EP, “Moongate”

It was just a few weeks ago that Alina Baraz caught our attention with her short and sweet EP, Sunbeam. Today, the “Electric” singer returns with another 4-track project, this time titled Moongate. The new EP comes in at just under 14 minutes and features plenty of Baraz’s sultry vocals layered over melodic, moody R&B beats.

“Ready for pt 2 of Sunbeam?” the 28-year-old asked her Instagram followers earlier this week while dropping off some spicy new selfies. “Please release it this week so I can hear it live next week show,” one fan replied. “YES DROP IT RIGHT NEOWWWWWW,” another eager follower chimed in.

Just like on her September release, Baraz chose to fly solo on Moongate, letting her beautiful voice take centre stage. On past projects, she’s collaborated with the likes of Khalid, 6LACK, Smino, and Nas, all of whom sound amazing when matched up with the Ohio-born starlet.

Our personal favourite track from the new EP is “Maze,” but all of them are absolutely worth checking out.

Stream Alina Baraz’s Moongate below, and don’t hesitate to let us know what you think.

Tracklist:

1. Maze

2. Right There

3. Change My Mind

4. No Interference

Ice Cube Drops Out Of “Oh Hell No” Movie, Misses Out On $9M Over COVID Vaccine Request

Before the 2021 Met Gala, Nicki Minaj revealed that the event was requiring proof of full vaccination against COVID-19, and that she would not be attending as a result. The same thing happened a month later, when Summer Walker announced that she was skipping the BET Hip Hop Awards for the same reason. Most recently, and most publicly, Brooklyn Nets’ general manager Sean Marks announced that Kyrie Irving would not be allowed to play or practice for the team until he was fully vaccinated.

All of these bars on participation have come as a result of stricter and stricter COVID-19 regulations, and vaccine mandates across the country.

And according to a recent report by The Hollywood ReporterIce Cube is the latest high-profile celebrity to miss out on an opportunity due to being unvaccinated.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Ice Cube has dropped out of the upcoming Sony Pictures comedy, Oh Hell No, in which Cube would have starred alongside Jack Black.

Despite promoting mask-wearing throughout the ongoing global pandemic and even donating thousands of masks to Bacone College in Oklahoma, the “It Was A Good Day” rapper drew the line at vaccination. Upon a Oh Hell No producer’s request that Cube take the shot, the Big3 founder dropped out of the movie altogether.

Production of Oh Hell No had been pushed back to this winter, as Black is reportedly still recovering from an injury suffered “while filming a for the last episode of Conan,” but both Sony and Ice Cube are left in tough spots. Sony will be forced to find an Ice Cube replacement, and Cube will miss out on a $9M payday.

The Hollywood Reporter said that neither Sony nor Cube made any comment on the situation, but what do you think about the latter walking out on $9M because he was asked to get vaccinated? Let us know in the comments.

Zayn Malik Allegedly Shoved Yolanda Hadid Into A Dresser, Pleads No Contest To Harassment Charges

Yesterday, we shared the news that Yolanda Hadid was considering pressing charges against the father of her grandchild, Zayn Malik, after a heated argument took place between the two a few weeks back. In a statement, the former One Direction member refuted claims that he had “struck” Hadid, but according to TMZ, the singer has pleaded no contest to four criminal charges of harassment.

Documents obtained by the gossip site reveal that Zayn was at the Pennsylvania home he shares with Gigi Hadid on September 29th when a “nuclear argument” broke out between he and Yolanda. The “Pillow Talk” singer allegedly called her a “f*cking Dutch slut,” and demanded that she “stay away from [his] f*cking daughter.”

Gigi and Zayn are the parents of 13-month-old Khai, whose upbringing they’ve chosen to keep out of the public eye as much as possible. Apparently, the 28-year-old also referred to his daughter as “the f*cking sperm that came out of my f*cking c*ck” in the heat of the moment.

Reports say that the English artist then shoved Yolanda into a dresser, “causing mental anguish and physical pain,” although Zayn denies any physical contact taking place.

Court documents also revealed that one of Zayn’s charges comes from harsh words towards Gigi. “Strap on some f*cking balls and defend your partner against your f*cking mother in my house,” he allegedly screamed at her over the phone during the incident. Sources have revealed that the model was in Paris, and not at the family home at the time.

Khai’s mother may not have been home, but a security guard was there, and Zayn reportedly tried to fight him, yelling “get the f*ck out of my f*cking house, copper.”

On Wednesday, the “Dusk Till Dawn” singer pled no contest (meaning neither guilty nor not guilty, but he still accepts punishment) to harassment. He was fined, and handed 90 days of probation for each count, racking up a total of 360 days. He’s also expected to finish an anger management class, a domestic violence program, and have no contact with Yolanda or the aforementioned security guard.

TMZ also notes that Hadid and her beau reportedly split at the end of September, when the incident took place.

“Gigi is solely focused on the best for Khai. She asks for privacy during this time,” a rep for the model stated

Stay tuned to HNHH for any updates about Zayn, Gigi, and Yolanda.

Baker Mayfield Gets Positive Injury Update: Details

Baker Mayfield has been a key factor in the resurgence of the Cleveland Browns. After years of poverty, the team is finally good and they are looking to make the playoffs for the second year in a row. Unfortunately, after a hot start, Mayfield found himself out of the Browns lineup due to a torn left labrum, and a fracture on his shoulder.

It has been reported that Mayfield will need surgery after the season, however, for the time being, he would be working very hard to remain on the field. This weekend, the Browns have a huge rivalry game against the Steelers, and Browns fans have been praying that he would be good to go by game day.

Well, according to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, the Browns are going to get their wish. As it turns out, Mayfield has been cleared by doctors to play, which means he will be under center come Sunday when the Browns try to take down their divisional rival. Mayfield can be inconsistent at times, however, there is no doubt that he gives them the best opportunity to win basketball games.

Regardless, this is great news for the Browns, and if Mayfield stays healthy throughout the year, they will have a great shot at winning yet another playoff game.

Aaron Rodgers Reacts To Viral Meme Following Thursday Night Win

The Green Bay Packers and quarterback Aaron Rodgers made a statement in their prime-time win over the Arizona Cardinals last night, on the field and off of it. The latter, because of a viral meme showing a panicked-looking facial expression from Rodgers, that’s since circulated quickly over the internet, to the point where the star quarterback had already seen and reacted to it by the time he got to his postgame interview.

After the game, when asked if he’d seen the viral photo circling the internet, the Packers quarterback responded, “I saw it,” with a grin. Adding, “Man, the internet is undefeated.”

Rodgers is right; the internet is undefeated. Unlike the Cardinals, who saw the 37-year old QB and ‘The Pack’ fly into Arizona and beat them and their previously 7-0 undefeated record.

The meme came about after Rodgers threw a two-yard touchdown to receiver Randall Cobb early in the third quarter, when after the throw, the QB was hit late and the defense was flagged for roughing the passer. It was the first of Rodgers’ two passing touchdowns on the night, as the ground game accounted for 151 total yards and a touchdown, playing a key role in the 24-21 win on Thursday Night Football.

Rodgers and the Packers now have ten days to rest and prepare for their afternoon showdown next Sunday, when they take on the Kansas City Chiefs, at Arrowhead.

Jake Paul Clowns Zayn Malik Over Alleged Yolanda Hadid Incident

This past week, it was revealed that Zayn Malik plead no contest in relation to allegedly assaulting Yolanda Hadid who is the mother of his now-estranged partner, Gigi Hadid. Malik reportedly shoved Yolanda, as well as a security guard, and now, he must take anger management classes as well as some domestic violence courses.

The entire situation has been quite upsetting for fans of the couple, however, there are some people looking to make light of the situation. One of those people just so happens to be Jake Paul, who had a run-in with Malik last year during the second Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury fight. According to Paul, Malik was rude to Jake which led to some mean comments on Twitter. At the time, Gigi replied to Paul saying “Lol cause he doesn’t care to hang w you and your embarrassing crew of YouTube groupies ..? Home alone with his best friends like a respectful king cause he has me, sweetie. Unbothered by your irrelevant ugly ass. Go to bed.”

In light of the recent news surrounding Malik, Jake was feeling quite petty. As a result, he dug up Gigi’s old tweet and quoted her, saying “Your ‘rEsPeCtFuL KiNg’ punched your mom in the face.” Needless to say, Paul was ready and excited to come out victorious in the situation.

At this point, the Paul and Hadid feud is pretty well over, although the circumstances are certainly unfortunate. Many fans didn’t like what Paul had to say, and the Zayn Malik stan army is already engaging in an act of war in the QTs. Needless to say, if you’re popular, people are going to ride for you, regardless.

Reason Releases His ‘No More, No Less: Demo 1’ EP Featuring Benny The Butcher, Isaiah Rashad, And Wale

Carson, California-bred TDE rapper Reason has returned with a new EP, No More, No Less: Demo 1, which features appearances from Adé, Benny the Butcher, Doe Boy, Reason’s TDE label-mate Isaiah Rashad, and Wale. Reason calls the EP “a small collection of thoughts and moments that I’ve been asked for repeatedly” and explained that he released it because it was “something I wanted to give to y’all in the meantime” while he’s finishing a proper follow-up to his 2020 album, New Beginnings.

The three-song effort opens with “Left Hand” featuring Benny, Isaiah, and Wale, a block thumper that finds the three rappers trading verses over a variety of different beats. That’s followed by the hypnotic “Not For Me,” which reunites Adé and Wale and includes Benny, then the set concludes with the woozy, downtempo “12am In ATL,” which features Benny, Isaiah, and Doe Boy. Clocking in at nine minutes and 53 seconds in total, No More, No Less showcases Reason’s impressive wordplay by setting it alongside some of the most prolific and clever rappers in the game today.

The EP also helps set up Reason as part of the vanguard of the post-Kendrick TDE roster the label will have to get behind after a “weird time” for TDE in 2020. Along with Isaiah, Ray Vaughn, and Doechii, Reason is carrying the torch for the West Coast rap label as it evolves in the wake of Kendrick Lamar’s departure.
