Zendaya Slams “Euphoria” Season 3 Rumors In New Interview

Season 3’s Euphoria production has been off to a rough start, and the show’s star, Zendaya, shares her thoughts on the upcoming season while talking to Vanity Fair. Trade publications circulated rumors that the actress was responsible for HBO’s delays. A Hollywood Reporter piece cited a source close to Levinson who alleged that Zendaya’s focus on her growing film career had delayed the show’s progress.“I’ve actually been available,” she clarified with Vanity Fair. “I’ve been waiting.” She added: “I haven’t been on set in nearly two years.”

Zendaya plays Rue Bennett, a troubled teen in a high school filled with unique students. When production begins in January, she will return to the role. “I’m here to do justice by the people who care about Rue,” said Zendaya. It has also been rumored that the actress and show creator Sam Levinson have had tensions over the show’s direction. Zendaya contradicted the claim, telling Vanity Fair, “What I’ve been really lucky with is working with great filmmakers and great collaborators, people who really support your ideas, and help guide you as well in the process.”

Zendaya Gets Real About Shooting “Euphoria” Season 3

Euphoria, which debuted in June 2019 to critical acclaim, has not aired a new episode since February 2022. The series’ third season, set to follow a time jump where Zendaya and her co-stars, including Jacob Elordi and Sydney Sweeney, no longer play high school students, has faced multiple delays. Initially slated to shoot in 2024, HBO announced that production would begin in early 2025.

Since 2022, Zendaya’s film career has gradually grown, starring in the continued Spider-Man and Dune franchises. The actress is set to star in the upcoming films, The Drama and an untitled movie co-starring her boyfriend Tom Holland. She is also set to star in a 2026 Christopher Nolan-directed film. The Spider-Man franchise will begin filming its latest installment next summer. Season 3 of Euphoria will exclude actress Barbie Ferreira, who played Kat Hernandez. Ferreira announced her exit in August 2022.

HBO’s ‘Euphoria’ Season 3 Delayed; After Reports Show Was Ending

Production on season three of HBO’s Euphoria is set for takeoff. At the HBO/MAX press event, Casey Bloys, head of the TV giant, revealed the show is still on track for January 2025 production.

“We are shooting ‘Euphoria,’” Bloys said, according to Variety.” I think we have a start date, mid to late January. Nothing’s changed. Somebody said something online, and then this whole thing started. We are shooting the season. I have read the scripts. We’re happy. We’re moving ahead. All of the actors. Is the show.”

He added, “I know the show gets a lot of attention now because, you know, it has created some genuine movie stars, and they have various projects that are working on, but we are shooting this season, so nothing has changed. It’s eight episodes.”

The project reference is news of a busy schedule for Zendaya, who is set for another edition of Spider-Man and starring in a Christopher Nolan film. Additionally, co-star Jacob Elordi has plans set for shooting in the U.K.

Kodak Black is going to do or say whatever he wants. It’s the attribute that has landed him in prison several times throughout his career. It’s also helped him accumulate a die-hard fanbase and a highly successful career. Pros and cons, obviously. Kodak Black decided to showcase his boldness in an unexpected way on his new album, Dieuson Octave. The album is packed with standard bars about enemies and flexing, but the song “Versatile” sees the rapper shoot his shot with superstar actress Zendaya.

It’s somewhat ironic that Kodak Black has a song highlighting his versatility. His music can be enjoyable, but few, if anyone, would describe him as versatile. We digress. The rapper dedicates a whole section of the song to Zendaya, and the crush he’s seemingly had on her for years. “Tell Zendaya I’d like to meet her,” the Florida superstar raps. “Had crush on her since she was on Shake It Up. Seen her on Disney I think she pretty and she fit me and like her name ‘cuse I’m Z’d up.” Shake It Up is the Disney show that gave Zendaya her start. Kodak Black also brags about being Z’d up, which means being drunk and high at the same time.

Kodak Black Voiced His Desire To Meet Zendaya In 2022

The rapper’s Zendaya crush checks out. He voiced a similar desire to meet the Emmy winner during a 2022 interview with HipHopDX. Kodak claimed that he wanted to audition for Shake It Up as a kid as an excuse to meet the actress. “I wanted to audition for Shake It Up so I could push up on Zendaya,” he said. The rapper also claimed that he wanted to audition for Nickelodeon, and that fans don’t realize how good of an actor he can be. “Just, just stay tuned,” he teased. “I know how to act.”

This is not the first time Kodak Black has publicized one of his celebrity crushes. The rapper actually took a lot of heat when he expressed interest in Lauren London in 2019. It wasn’t that he was interested in the singer, it’s that she had just lost her partner, Nipsey Hussle, a week before Kodak Black decided to shoot his shot. “I’ll give her a whole year,” he noted during an Instagram Live. “She might need a whole year to be crying and s*** for him… [I’ll] be the best man I can be for her.” Needless to say, London did not reciprocate.

Marvel’s ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ Soundtrack Includes… Zendaya And Zac Efron?

Marvel has released the “Van Jamz” tracklist for the soundtrack to the latest installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which includes songs from The Goo Goo Dolls, Aretha Franklin, and the wickedly talented John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John. I don’t know for sure if this is the first time those artists have all been on the same album together, but I’m guessing so.

Anyway, one of the soundtrack highlights is “The Greatest Show,” from 2017’s surprise box office hit The Greatest Showman. This means that a song from one Hugh Jackman movie is another Hugh Jackman movie, and that Zendaya and Zac Efron technically “appear” in Deadpool & Wolverine. Zendaya’s big year keeps getting even bigger.

It didn’t reach Brendan Fraser-in-The Whale “the only frame from the movie” status, but it feels like we’ve been seeing that image of Zendaya sitting on a bed with Mike Faist on one side of her and Josh O’Connor on the other for years. That’s only a slight hyperbole: Challengers was originally scheduled for August 2023, but it was pushed back to 2024 due to the SAG-AFTRA strike.

Thankfully, Luca Guadagnino’s sexy (and sex scene-free) tennis movie finally comes out this week, so we’ll be able to see the bed scene in context.

Speaking of that scene, Zendaya told Variety what was on her mind while taking such good care of her little white boys. “The only reason I really remember is because Beyoncé came out with ‘Break My Soul’ that day,” she said. “I was having a great day, like, ‘Y’all. Beyoncé’s single just dropped.’ That’s what I was focused on, to be honest.”

O’Connor joked, “We lost Zendaya for like a week. She was on set, normal, chatting with us. Then one day Beyoncé released something. They called ‘cut,’ and she immediately had headphones in. She was completely lost to the world.” Beyoncé: the only person who can make literally Zendaya lose her cool.

Regarding Euphoria returning to HBO, even Zendaya has no idea about the future of the popular Gen Z show. 

Zendaya told Variety during the Los Angeles premiere of her new sports romance thriller, “Challengers,” that she has no say as to when production will ratchet up again. She’s credited as an executive producer, but it’s still not her call. She said: “I am not in charge. But, of course, if it’s right for the characters and everything turns out the way it should, of course. But it’s beyond me.”

Zendaya’s ambiguity comes just weeks after HBO officially announced that season 3 of Euphoria would be postponed. The Warner Discovery network made it clear that they are committed to shooting a new season in the future, but they were also committed to supporting the series stars’ pursuit of other opportunities while they figure things out about Euphoria.

On that note, Hollywood’s Euphoria cast is hot right now. Sydney Sweeney, who plays Cassie Howard, starred in 3 films in the past six months alone, to varied levels of success. Hunter Schafer, who plays Zendaya’s romantic interest, starred in last year’s The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes, a box-office blockbuster. And, of course, Zendaya starred in Dune: Part 2 and has many other high-profile projects coming up; it’s safe to say Euphoria or not; Zendaya and company are doing just fine.

“It’s funny, because it’s something that I’m figuring out now. I don’t know how much of a choice I had. Zendaya went on, “I’m almost going through my angsty teenager phase now because I didn’t really have the time to do it before. I felt like I was thrust into a very adult position: I was becoming the breadwinner of my family very early, and there was a lot of role-reversal happening, and just kind of becoming grown, really.”

Here’s the drop, if you didn’t know: Spider-Man and Dune actress Zendaya is playing a tennis star in Luca Guadagnino’s new film Challengers, and there’s plenty of drama to explore in the new trailer.

The choice of music in the trailer is interesting, with Nelly Furtado’s Maneater controlling the pace. Before we explore the official description, Shadow and Act reported that Zendaya plays a former tennis star and champion who had to leave the game due to an injury – and that happens in real life like any other sport. Now get this, she moves on to coaching, but her new clients aren’t just after her tennis experience and want more than they bargained for. Josh O’Connor and Mike Faist are also starring, but here’s the synopsis:

Challengers is coming to theaters on April 26.

Kodak Black Wanted To Audition For Disney So He Could “Push Up On Zendaya”

Before rap, Kodak Black wanted to appear on television. The rapper recently caught up with HipHopDX at One Music Festival where he shed some light on his aspirations to dive into the world of television. If you recall, a video went viral of a young Kodak declaring that he was on his way to an audition for a Nickelodeon show. However, Yak revealed that he didn’t actually audition for Nickelodeon but instead, Disney for the sake of meeting Zendaya. “I never did [audition for Nick],” he revealed. “I wanted to audition for Shake It Up so I could push up on Zendaya.”

Evidently, things worked out for Kodak Black in the long-run. However, the video shed new light on Kodak’s childhood. Although it’s unclear when the video was shot, Yak’s looking babyfaced as ever. “Yeah, auditioning with Nickelodeon ’cause you know a new show coming out, feel me,” Kodak Black said. “Just, just stay tuned. I’m gon’ be on there. I know how to act.” Clearly, the universe had other plans for him but he doesn’t seem to have gotten his proper opportunity to delve into Hollywood.

Kodak Black Recovers From “Drink Champs” Blowout

Outside of his acting aspirations, Kodak Black found himself in hot water this weekend following his appearance on Drink Champs. The rapper caught heat from 21 Savage following his comments on the podcast after accusing the ATL rapper of “switching up” on him. Savage fired back, claiming that Yak continues to drag out whatever tension is between them with public comments. He also suggested that Kodak sounded jealous of his success.

Additionally, Kodak Black has been going back and forth with Ray J, who expressed concern over the interview. Ray J recalled bringing the Florida rapper to Mar-A-Lago to meet Trump. However, he felt as though Kodak “did the most” during the trip. While Ray J hoped someone would give him help, Kodak Black responded that he’d “beat your little *ss.” However, Ray J then proposed that the two actually duke it out in the streets.
