J. Cole & 6LACK Perform “Pretty Little Fears” To Surprised Crowd In Los Angeles

J. Cole isn’t one to give updates about his life on social media the way some of his contemporaries do, but we’ve been seeing a noticeable increase in the amount of time the multi-talent has been spending outside lately. He’s obviously been busy in the studio perfecting verses to assist friends like Summer Walker and Gucci Mane, but for some of his closest pals, the North Carolina native has also been making surprise concert appearances, much to fans’ delight. Earlier this month, Cole helped Drake close out his It’s All a Blur tour in Toronto with their new “First Person Shooter” collab.

Now, he’s back in the US, this time performing with 6LACK in Los Angeles on his Since I Have A Lover Tour. On Tuesday (October 10) evening, the “Love Yourz” artist and his pal brought their East Atlanta Love Letter joint effort, “Pretty Little Fears” to the stage at YouTube Theater. As expected, those in attendance sang the throwback hit along word for word, getting in their feelings over both artists’ emotional verses.

J. Cole Fans Were Pleased to See Him in LA Last Night

Seeing both Cole and the “Switch” singer in one evening was major for many music lovers, but 6LACK’s surprises didn’t stop there. Later on in his set, he also brought out his upcoming opening act, Jordan Ward, as well as Canada’s own R&B sensation, Jessie Reyez. With the latter, he sang “Imported” before recruiting Khalid to join him for “OTW.”

At this time “Pretty Little Fears” is the only collaboration we’ve heard from the Dreamville head and 6LACK at this time. Of course, Cole has been hard at work on his highly anticipated album for some time now, so we’ll keep our fingers crossed to see the East Coast R&B star’s name on the tracklist when it finally arrives.

DJ Envy’s Fraud Allegations Addressed On “The Breakfast Club”: Watch

DJ Envy has once again found himself at the centre of controversy. Rather than letting the fraud allegations around his work in the real estate industry run rampant, The Breakfast Club host decided to address things on the air this morning (October 11), though not everyone tuning in thought that was such a good idea. “Let me explain some things,” Envy began before noting that his attorneys have specifically asked him not to speak out.

“I think you should listen to your attorneys,” Charlamagne Tha God advised his long-time co-host. “Listen, so Ceasar and myself did seminars,” the 46-year-old began to explain, ignoring his friend’s comment. “Now the reason I did these seminars is because I wanted to uplift my community. I wanted to teach my community about real estate, things that I didn’t know when I was first buying my first home. I wanted to teach our community about investing in generational wealth,” Envy went on to explain. According to the DJ, Ceasar was taking money from people attending these events, which he wasn’t aware of.

“I do understand how people feel if they gave him money because I gave him a lot of money,” the father of two emphasized to Charlamagne. “I didn’t see a dollar of return. For anyone to say that I was involved, that’s totally not true,” Envy doubled down. “I would never, I been on radio for close to 30 years, and never in my 30 years time did I do nothing but try to uplift people in different ways with a business mind. I would never take a dollar from somebody.”

Outside of the eyebrow-raising allegations coming out against DJ Envy at this time, the media personality has also been feuding online with Tyrese. On Tuesday (October 10), the Texas-born creative dropped off a photo dump full of booty-shaking videos which she suggested might be deleted soon in the caption. “Mexico don’t own me S**T ,” Banks wrote. For some listeners, Birdman’s recent Clubhouse conversation with Wack 100 and other industry executives gave an insightful look at what’s happening in the industry at this time. Others, however, like Gille Da Kid, weren’t so impressed with what the Cash Money Records CEO had to say about him. If you didn’t tune in, Birdman spoke candidly about what transpired between him and the podcaster that led to their falling out, though he said he has no “ill feelings” toward Gillie. Despite the mostly positive message, the Million Dollaz Worth of Game host wasn’t having it.

“I’m bigger than Baby. Ain’t that [wild]?” the Philadelphia native said on Instagram Live earlier this week. “I’m bigger than that ni**a right now. I generate more money than that ni**a right now. I don’t wanna hear this s**t. Motherf**kers counting me out and I’m f**king bigger than you,” Gillie ranted, obviously in his feelings over what Birdman had to say about their past. “Shut up. Nobody give a f**k about you,” he publicly declared.

Later on during the same stream, Gillie couldn’t help but point out that the Louisana native kept quiet on the matter for an awful long time. “Birdman waited so long to say something man, I can’t even respond when you say something 25 years later,” he called out his former mentor. “You only respond because you don’t hear the roar of the crowd no more… I done called you a b**ch a** ni**a for 25 years. 25 years later you respond… I see the way you treated a real ni**a, rest in peace Killer Stone.
