For fans, it’s an opportunity to show off which songs and artists spoke to them the most this year. As a special treat for 2023 wrapped, Spotify got dozens of popular artists to record messages thanking their biggest fans. But those artists themselves also get Wrapped statistics telling them how much their music was streamed.

It’s pretty common to see major artists sharing the numbers they achieved online. But it’s a lot rarer that artists give an actual sneak peek of the music they were listening to themselves. Enter Ice Spice, who was more than comfortable sharing her listening habits. Among her favorite artists this year were Lana Del Rey, Drake, Lil Uzi Vert, and Kali Uchis. In addition to your top 5 artists, Spotify Wrapped also shares your 5 most listened-to songs, which Spice also shared with fans. That was even funnier as they were all five tracks that she appears on. “Boys a liar Pt. 2,” “In Ha Mood,” “Princess Diana,” “Munch,” and “Deli” round out her top 5 list.

Ice Spice found herself in the midst of a strange online controversy earlier this year. A video went viral on Twitter of her being handed a drink by a fan and instead passing it off to one of her friends. Her fans online certainly understood why she wouldn’t take a drink from a stranger. But many wondered why, if she was suspicious of the drink, she would hand it off to one of her friends for them to drink. Ralo Calls Young Thug’s RICO Charges “Weak”

Young Thug’s eagerly-anticipated YSL RICO trial finally got rolling earlier this week, which sees him being tried for various gang charges. So far, the process has been pretty chaotic, and rumblings of Judge Ural Glanville ruling it a mistrial have already begun. Thugger’s being accused of leading what prosecutors have labeled a “criminal street gang,” though he maintains his innocence. Countless fans and peers have continued to call for the rapper’s release, as he’s been locked up for over a year now.

Ralo, who just completed his own time behind bars, recently weighed in on the case on social media. He explained feeling as though the prosecution doesn’t have a strong case against the 32-year-old, and are instead trying make him take the fall for crimes others around him have committed. Moreover, Ralo thinks that Young Thug should just be freed already, calling his charges “weak.”

“Young Thug [trial] weak as f*ck,” Ralo Tweeted yesterday (November 29). “I can’t even believe they giving Jeff ah hard time like that for them weak a** charges. They might [as] well just let him go. I feel like they just trying blame him for sh*t n***as around him was doing. That sh*t l*me!!!” While many fans agree with Ralo’s message, some are curious as to how he was able to share it. It was just recently announced that he’s been blocked from social media. His team shared the news on his behalf last week, claiming that he’ll have to wait to complete a program to reconnect with fans.

“We thought that we would be able to welcome Ralo home in peace. But he has been restricted from all social media platforms until he completes his program,” their post reads. Sexyy Red Criticized For Reposting TikTok From Murderer

Like most of her music does, Sexyy Red’s new single “FREE MY N*GGA” has gone viral on TikTok. People have come up with plenty of clever ways to repurpose the lyrics for their own content. But some people have taken it very literally and used it as a rallying cry for people actually being freed from prison. One person in particular who made a video including the song was pretty well known on TikTok.

The video came from one of two men who made up the “E and J Gang” viral couple account on TikTok. Last year the pair were both arrested and eventually jailed over the murder of a 29-year-old man in Georgia. It’s obvious why he would see fit to make a video of his own to the new song, and Red herself caught it. She posted the video to twitter with the caption “Free Dat!!” but many online took issue with her post. Check out the video she shared below.

Sexyy Red In Hot Water Again

Fans in the comments quickly tried to inform her who the man in the video was. “Free a murdered?” one of the top comments reads. “Wayment Sexyy you need to reconsider” and “do you know what him and that man did ? smh” two other comments read. Surprisingly though, not everyone was against Red in the matter. Some comments on an Instagram repost pointed out the double standard in calling for people to be freed.

“Y’all be posting free y’all killer cousins all the time. Ion see the problem. Lol.” one of the top comments on Instagram reads. Another compared it to the many calls from across the hip-hop landscape for Young Thug to be freed. “Ain’t y’all the same one talking bout free Thug ? Lupe Fiasco & Joe Budden Go Back And Forth Over Andre 3000 Criticism

Lupe Fiasco is someone who has consistently made great music. Overall, he is a beloved artist in the hip-hop world, and that will never change. However, not every move he has made has been celebrated. For example, he recently decided to rap over some of Andre 3000’s instrumentals on New Blue Sun. This captured the attention of none other than Joe Budden. Budden took to his podcast and had some strong words for Lupe, noting that it was a bad move. Ultimately, he was not a fan of the new music.

Lupe decided to respond to Budden on Twitter. Below, you can see that he posted some images that displays how Lupe has a lot more listeners than Joe does. ““We don’t chase what’s been already achieved. Victory laps sometimes look like qualifiers especially from the stands @joebudden. New Blue Sun now streaming on all platforms,” he wrote. Subsequently, Budden clapped back, simply saying “Lupe is him. That flute shit was worse than ass… 2 things can be true… stop lying to your favorite artists for 2024, you might get better product.”

Eventually, these tweets were deleted. In their wake, Budden went back on Twitter and simply wrote: “Spoke to Lupe, I still love him. lol.” This was quote-tweeted by Lupe who simply gave a thumbs up. Ultimately, it seems like the two are on good terms right now. However, this is just yet another example of how Budden has always been very critical of his peers. He is not afraid to be critical, and it typically leads to back and forths like the one above.

Andrew Tate & Elon Musk Turned Down Millions To “Sell Their Souls,” Influencer Claims

Andrew Tate has cryptically claimed that he and Elon Musk turned down multi-million dollar payments to sell out. “I turned down 50m to sell my soul. All I had to do was shut up on certain subjects and sell trash to kids. I refused. Then I was arrested. Elon turned down 500m plus. Not many hero’s left. G,” Tate cryptically wrote on X, formerly Twitter. Tate did not specify who had offered the money or what he would have to stop speaking on to receive it. As a result, the post reads like a generic “deep state” conspiracy tweet. Later in the day, Tate reposted a post about the “new world order” from 2013.

Furthermore, people pointed out several hypocrisies. First, people noted that Tate is currently beefing with Musk because Musk seemingly ignored his offer to “advertise X on X” for $1M a month. Additionally, people noted that Musk had “sold out” in recent weeks. Musk went from a fierce advocate of Palestine to posting pro-Israel content and even touring Israel with government officials.

Andrew Tate Claims To Be A Billionaire

However, it’s far from the only bizarre thing that Tate has posted lately. Tate simply wrote “I am a Billionaire” on X on November 23. It’s a bold claim from a man who was recently valued at a net worth of around £10 million. That figure came from the Romanian officials who evaluated Tate’s assets as part of his ongoing trial for rape, human trafficking, and organized crime. The lavish lifestyle portrayed by Tate over the years appears to be almost entirely fabricated. Even Tate’s own lawyers admitted that the former kickboxing world champion “plays a character online”.

While Tate successfully had his house arrest lifted earlier this year, Tate still faces a litany of charges. Many of these relate to allegations that Tate was running a trafficking operation that forced young women into sex work. Tate, along with his brother, has denied all charges.

The two linked up for the first time in over a decade on “First Person Shooter.”

Many feel Cole really carried the song and we can see their point. From the flow switch-ups to the witty bars, it was a moment in 2023. In fact, it was so good, it went number one on the Billboard Hot 100. He also appears on the deluxe version of For All The Dogs, where he and Drizzy go back and forth on “Evil Ways.” J. Cole has also worked with Lil Yachty on the jazz and boom bap-inspired cut “The Secret Recipe.” The Atlanta rapper did his best to match his counterpart and succeeded.

Now, there is another rapper who feels he has the same chance to match him. Houston rapper, Sauce Walka, recently tweeted out that he wants to go bar for bar with the lyrical wizard. A lot of fans in the comments really feel he can and we do too. Lil Nas X is someone who likes to take a hiatus in between projects. Overall, he is very funny on Twitter and fans have always known him for that. However, since the release of his debut full-length album, we have not actually heard from him all that much. Except for a few tweets here and there, Nas X just kinda does what he wants and keeps to himself. Well, it seems like he is gearing up for something new as last night, he made a triumphant return to the Twitter world.

In the tweets below, you can see that he is scheming about something. Whether or not that is new music seems to have been answered. Although as you are going to see, it seems like the artist is a bit non-commital as to what he wants to do next. He posed a question to his fans about releasing something. 50 Cent continued to troll his longtime rival Diddy on Twitter, Tuesday, while reacting to the news that the Bad Boy mogul intends to step down as chairman at Revolt. In response, 50 offered to purchase the company. TMZ broke the news about Diddy stepping down, earlier this week, saying that the move “was to not allow the accusations he’s facing distract from Revolt’s mission or success.”

“I’ll buy that from you play boy, for the low because you know Cadillac and AT&T gonna pull out,” 50 joked on Twitter. “I’ll give you a few dollars for it now! Sell it to me, then we can be friends [blushing emoji] I’m serious call my phone.”

Diddy has faced three sexual assault lawsuits in recent days. The first came from Cassie, who alleged sexual, physical, and emotional abuse. The two reached a settlement just 24 hours after the singer filed in court. Two other accusers have come forward in the time since. His spokesperson denied both allegations in a statement provided to HipHopDX. They wrote: “These are fabricated claims falsely alleging misconduct from over 30 years ago and filed at the last minute. This is nothing but a money grab. Because of Mr. Combs’ fame and success, he is an easy target for anonymous accusers who lie without conscience or consequence for financial benefit.”

The emotional post ends with yet another tease that has fans on the edge of their seat. “On Dec. 8th…when the clock strikes 12, one of my best kept secrets & proudest moments will be unveiled,” the tweet concludes. Drake is quite the fan of the U.K hip-hop scene, whether it’s grime, drill, and a whole host of other subgenres and artists. However, his admiration for them might’ve gotten him in the middle of a beef within the Boy Better Know (BBK) collective. For those unaware, Skepta and Wiley are two excellent exponents of grime within this group, but they had a falling out and the latter soon distanced himself from the crew. Moreover, the 6ix God recently posted an old Skep freestyle on his Instagram Story which contains some very pointed shots towards Wiley. His response, though, is probably the most interesting part of this whole exchange.

“How can you be a king when you roll through anywhere?” Skepta spits in the clip that Drake reposted on social media recently. “Wiley, you don’t roll through anywhere, I go anywhere, fam, I’m never scared. You said you rep E3 but you never there, so lemme murk this guy. It’s all in your name, fam, I don’t need to try, I take away the W, I take away the Y. Fix up the other letters, all you do is just lie.”

Drake Reposts Skepta Freestyle: Watch

Meanwhile, Wiley actually had some praise to say for Drake amid folks expecting him to pop off against him. “I’m not gonna lie I actually think Drake is a cold rapper.” Not only that, but the British MC defended ghostwriting claims levied at the Toronto superstar– according to HipHopDX– and posted a video on social media of himself rocking out to Drizzy’s new Scary Hours 3 cut, “Red Button.” Not only that, but when a fan pointed out that he couldn’t have picked this video by accident, Wiley still shrugged it off. “Oh ok well either way we haffi big up the man like Drizzy Marley everytime Yanam Zayin,” he wrote.

Of course, the OVO mogul is no stranger to beef within rap, but he usually keeps it within his own artistic and stateside lane. It’s entirely possible that he thought this was just a cold freestyle regardless of context, and it’s been a while since he tapped back into that scene.
