Jim Jones Says Pusha T Diss Was “Cute”

Finally, after some months of waiting, fans finally have some music to soundtrack the Pusha T and Jim Jones beef. Whether Push’s presumed diss towards the Dipset rapper was actually of hard-hitting quality is up to people’s opinion. However, one person wasn’t impressed by the Clipse track that debuted at Pharrell’s Louis Vuitton show, and that’s Capo himself. Moreover, he recently took to Instagram to share some thoughts after his initial response. “Let me know if they serious cause my name is my name #Capo,” he shared on Instagram, adding in his Story: “Let me know when they really ready.”

“Lol [crying-laughing emoji] that verse did not make the list champ it was cute,” Jim Jones captioned his video. In that, he appeared unfazed while making his remarks, with the screwed-up face of someone who just saw a mediocre movie. “That was not a top 50 verse,” the Dipset member stated. “Not at all. Still not in my top 50.” For those unaware, this feud started back when Billboard released their top 50 rappers of all time list in April, and Jones took issue with Push being on there. Specifically, he said that nobody’s trying to sound like Pusha T even though he’s “nice as s**t” at rapping.

Here’s part of the Virginia native’s verse in writing so you can be the judge. “Beware of my name, that there’s delegate / You know I know where you’re delicate / Crush you to pieces, I’ll hum a breath of it / I will close your heaven for the hell of it / You think it’d be valor amongst veterans / I’m watching your fame escape relevance / We all in a room but here’s the elephant / You chasing a feature out of your element / And those lab diamonds under inspection / The question marks block your blessings / It’s no tombstones in the desert / I know by now you get the message.”

Furthermore, it’s delivered in Push’s trademark menacing and mid-tempo flow. Regardless of what you think, this is the first true response (which even then is unconfirmed) that he gave. The 46-year-old isn’t walking on LV runways or dropping highly acclaimed albums like DAYTONA or features on tracks like “Palmolive.” That being said, Push didn’t respond to attacks to his influence either, and there’s no clear battle until the Back In My Prime MC drops some bars of his own. On that note, what do you think of this whole debate and of the new verse? Let us know in the comments and stick around on HNHH for more on Pusha T and Jim Jones.

Fat Joe Asks Why Big L Was Excluded From Top 50 GOAT Rappers List

As several rappers dismiss Billboard and Vibe‘s recent list, Fat Joe continues to comment on the choices. The two outlets partnered together to reveal their picks for the Top 50 Greatest Rappers of All Time. Every artist deserved recognition and made an unforgettable mark in the genre. However, not everyone was happy with where some rappers were placed, and Fat Joe questioned why Big L was excluded.

“Yeah, no Big L. I mean, if you’re gonna like—because some of these guys on here ain’t got no hits,” said Joe. “I know they could rap, I know they could spit. But some of these guys on here don’t got no hits!” The Bronx hitmaker seemed confused about how the list was put together.

“So, how do you judge who’s on the Top 50 rappers? Because there’s some guys here that never had a hit. And so, what are we basing it on? Lyrics? So, why isn’t Big L on there? This is the problem when you try to make this list. The only point I’m trying to make to you is this is not law.”

New York icon Big L tragically passed away after being killed in 1999. He was reportedly shot nine times during a drive-by shooting that still is unsolved. The industry fondly remembers him, and what he could have accomplished in the industry is often debated among hitmakers. Many rappers list Big L in their top lists, so it is no surprise that Fat Joe questions Billboard and Vibe.

However, elsewhere, Joe agreed that the outlets were correct in giving the No. 1 position to Jay-Z. Hov’s name is often included in these conversations, and Joe shared why the Roc Nation mogul earned his placement. “Historically, there were certain rappers that were the gods at the time. Who had flows like nobody else. But when they got older in age, it almost sounded” outdated, said Joe. “It don’t sound current with 2023. Jay-Z just dropped ‘God Did’ where he spit for eight minute straight! And not ’cause he’s the richest. It’s just, I agree with it.”

Bow Wow & Swae Lee React To Being Left Off ‘Top 50 Greatest Rappers Of All Time” List

Another Top 50 Rappers list has sparked conversations, and Bow Wow and Swae Lee are weighing in. The hitmakers may occupy vastly different lanes in Hip Hop, but they are both respected, award-winning artists in their own rights. Billboard and Vibe recently partnered to unveil their picks for the Top 50 Greatest Rappers of All Time, and unsurprisingly, the choices caused debates among the genre’s enthusiasts. With only 50 picks, not everyone could be included, and Bow and Swae have chimed in about not seeing their names listed.

“I took no offense not making that list,” Bow tweeted. “I always said im not a rapper i am an entertainer.” He added he doesn’t ” like to be box’d in.” When a fan told him he should have been included, Bow simply expressed it was out of his control. Further, he didn’t seem bothered because he agreed with another supporter who remarked he was a legend.

Meanwhile, Swae Lee took a different approach. While in Arizona for the Super Bowl, TMZ caught up with Lee and asked his thoughts on the list. The rapper was unaware he wasn’t on it until the cameraperson told him. “That’s f*ckin’ wrong!” said the Rae Sremmurd star. “I got 20 No. 1s. We changing Rap!” When it was further noted that there weren’t any Rap groups listed, either, Swae doubled down that the list was inaccurate.

Then, he wanted to know if Future and Young Thug were included. It seemed that the list may have been correct if those two made it. When he learned that Jay-Z earned the top spot, Lee hesitated before saying, “That’s cool.” He added, “I feel like, it’s politics,” before declaring people should move away from the “old, traditional Rap scale.”

The top spots on Billboard and Vibe‘s list were also hot topics. Jay-Z took the No. 1 position, followed by (in order) Kendrick Lamar, Nas, Tupac Shakur, and Eminem. Swae isn’t the only person frustrated with the choices, as Ja Rule also complained after seeing he wasn’t listed, either.

Fredro Starr Says Sticky Fingaz Deserves Spot On Top 50 Rappers List After He “Bodied” Eminem

Fredro Starr is among those who had criticism for Billboard and Vibe’s Top 50 Greatest rappers list. Over the past month, the two publications teamed up to drop a list of the best rappers who’ve ever graced the mic. Each week, they unveiled the list in 10-spot increments, eventually leading to the top 10. Many rappers took issue with the list, even those who landed on it. Ice Cube, for instance, disregarded Billboard’s opinion surrounding the genre because they “ain’t hip-hop.”

The top 10 included names like Eminem, Kendrick Lamar, Drake, Lil Wayne, and Nicki Minaj while Jay-Z held the #1 position. Though many took issue with the rankings, it seems that Eminem’s inclusion ruffled a few feathers. Billboard declared Eminem at #5, a spot above the late Biggie Smalls. As you could imagine, plenty of rappers were left off of the list, including Onyx member Sticky Fingaz. Fredro Starr recently sat down with VladTV where he aired out Billboard for their rankings.

Fredro Starr Says Eminem Would’ve Had Sticky Fingaz On A Top 50 List

Fredro Starr not only took issue with Jadakiss’ position on the list but he felt as though Sticky Fingaz deserved a spot in the rankings. Though he said he’s “nicer” than many of those on the list, he expressed disappointment in Billboard for excluding Sticky. “C’mon son. Sticky would burn half them n***as. I would burn half them n***as but Stick is that dude,” he stated. He explained that even Eminem had praise for Sticky’s skillset as an MC before mentioning the Onyx MC’s verse on “Remember Me?” “I think he bodied Eminem on that particular record,” he said.

Starr added that Eminem fueled Sticky’s competitive spirit on that track for the Onyx rapper to deliver “one of the illest verses ever.” “You saying Eminem is one of the best rappers ever? The n***a rocking the Onyx shirt in that documentary? ‘Sticky one of my favorite rappers,’ he’s always saying that,” Starr said. So if he’s part of his favorite rappers, how he not on the 50 list? We should let Eminem write the 50 list.” Check out his comments above.
