Toosii Added Khalid To The Remix For His Top 20 Track, ‘Favorite Song,’ Ahead Of His New Album

For Toosii‘s brand new remix of his already Top 20 hit, “Favorite Song,” he brought Khalid along for the ride this time.

“I’m on the stage right now / Singing your favorite song,” Toosii notes in the chorus, which they sing together. “Look in the crowd / And you’re nowhere to be found as they sing along.”

“Now you’re right back where you started / And it hit me the most / ‘Cause I care for you and that’s how it goes / And I’m there for you like nobody knows / Since the day I met you, I told you, I won’t turn back / I’m locked in forever and, baby, I promise that,” Khalid adds in his individual verse.

“I’m excited to have Khalid join me on this track,” Toosii said about the collaboration, according to Hypebeast. “He has such a dope and unique voice and I think it really takes an already amazing song to the next level. I’ve been wanting to collab with him on the right track for a while and I think we picked the perfect one.”

Toosii’s new album, Naujour, is also set to drop this summer — with this remix potentially finding its way onto the tracklist.

Toosii Gave The List Of His Favorite Songs At Rolling Loud, And There’s No Surprise As To Who Made The Cut

Toosii is one of the newest rappers dominating social media. Even if you aren’t familiar with his music, you should know his name thanks to Drake’s 2020 track, “Toosie Slide.” Since then, the Syracuse, New York native has dropped his debut studio album, Poetic Pain, and a string of singles, including “Sapiosexual” (watch his UPROXX Sessions performance of the song here).

In a creative industry, it is only natural to pull inspiration from those acts around you. But, when Uproxx’s Cherise Johnson caught up with the entertainer at Rolling Loud California, he wasn’t shy about sharing his unwavering obsession with his own music. When asked about his favorite songs, he named only his past releases instead of naming other musicians. You should expect nothing else from the rapper.

Atop the list is his song, “Favorite Song.” During his performance, the song was clearly beloved by his concertgoing fans as well. Originally released in mid-February, “Favorite Song” debuted at No. 8 on the Billboard Hot Rap songs and No. 17 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop songs charts. Last week (March 4), the song debuted at No. 51 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts.

Also on the list are his songs “Love Is…” and “Head Over Hills.” Watch the full video above.

Toosii’s First Date Rules And Financial Expectations At Rolling Loud Are Sure To Upset The Manosphere

Rolling Loud is the festival where rappers go to make a controversial statements. Sometimes it doesn’t go over well. Hi, DaBaby. Other times, due to technical hiccups, it falls flat on the sea of fans. Although it didn’t happen onstage during his performance, rapper Toosii let his opinions on modern dating spill out.

His romantic adventures are often at the center of his music, including on songs, “Keeper,” “Head Over Hills,” and “What I’m On.” When asked by Uproxx’s Cherise Johnson, does he split the bill on the first date his response might come as a shock to many. Especially, the red pill, alpha male, manosphere, podcast mic-owning “dating experts.”

His initial answer to the question posed was, “No. Hell no. We not splitting no bill for nothing. We ain’t splitting bills on the first date, second date, third date, or last date. No, none of that. She gonna pay for everything.”

But before you get upset by the rapper’s response, he ensures it is all just a joke. Watch his full response to the question below.

Toosii Defends The LGBTQIA+ Community In New IG Story

Raleigh-bred artist Toosii has had enough of the insults when it comes to the LGBTQIA+ community. The rapper, who’s amassed over 500 million views across his YouTube channel, took to Instagram to defend his stance recently. While it’s not known what sparked the outburst, the Syracuse native mentioned attacks on us all in one late-night post. “I get on the internet everyday and see us attacking us. S**t getting overrated [one-hundred emoji],” Toosii tweeted yesterday evening.

At the beginning of the now-viral clip, the man behind “Magic Potion” warns viewers he’s unbothered by their commentary. “It is what it is at the end of the day,” Toosii continues. He then begins to deliver a speech about those who call others gay as a form of insult. “If being straight [is] not an insult, why is being gay an insult?,” the 23-year-old challenges. “You’re trying to use calling a person gay as an insult. Them is the motherf***ers that really need to be attacked, feel me?”

Toosii Takes Up For Those Called Gay As An Insult

As responses rolled in from both sides of the debate, Toosii retweeted @SaycheeseDGTL’s repost with a few more words of his own. Commenters under their tweet were noticeably negative, with a majority of them proving his point. One tweeter tells him to shut his “pandering a** up. You sound suspect as hell!” In response to this, a Toosii supporter says the user should seek therapy as their “sexuality must be EXTREMELY fragile!” Another commentator mentions “The replies speak volumes” as others continue to hurl homosexual allegations toward the star. “[Thumbs down emoji] [The] comment section lame…,” Toosii began before confirming his own sexuality. “Shout out to the LGBTQ community be ya self! And this coming from a STRAIGHT MAN. I send my love to everybody I don’t got a hating bone in my body!”

Toosii then went on to celebrate his first Billboard entry for “Favorite Song,” which sits at No. 51 on the Hot 100 Chart. According to the site, the track has garnered over 9.7 million streams since its release. TikTokers have used the sped-up adaptation over 300,000 times thus far. “Favorite Song” follows Toosii’s 2022 deluxe EP, Boys Don’t Cry: Men Do.

Toosii’s Latest Single Is About To Be Your “Favorite Song”

Toosii’s first single of 2023, “Magic Potion,” arrived last month and has already amassed nearly 850K streams on Spotify alone. This New Music Friday (February 17), he’s following it up with a single that’s sure to become your “Favorite Song” in the near future.

The track boasts production by ADELSO and finds the recording artist getting vulnerable as he expresses his feelings about love. Across the nearly three-and-a-half-minute-long offering, the New Yorker lists off things that women typically love, like riding in the Wraith and going out on dates.

“You want somebody to come bring you flowers / Someone to talk to for hours / Wash your back while y’all sit in the shower,” he rhymes mid-way through the first verse. When the pre-chorus rolls around, Toosii croons about his love interest opening her heart to him. “Someone to tell you you’re beautiful / Someone to tell you and mean it.”

In a press release, the singer explains, “‘Favorite Song’ is about touching every dynamic of what a woman expects from a man. It’s a heart-throbbing, real-life, and motivational record. But yet a distinct song that is bound to be your favorite song.”

As Genius notes, the new arrival samples Tatiana Manaois’ “You Might As Well,” which previously premiered in November 2022. Toosii previously teased the track on TikTok and Instagram – since then fans have been eagerly awaiting its debut on DSPs. At the same time, the 23-year-old teased other titles like “Woo Lady,” “Another Love Song,” and “Georgia.”

I’m on the stage right now, singin’ your favorite song
Look in the crowd, and you’re nowhere to be found as they sing along

Toosii Drops Off “Magic Potion” Single On New Music Friday

After ending 2022 on a high note with the arrival of his deluxe Boys Don’t Cry: Men Do EP, Toosii couldn’t let the first month of 2023 come to a close without satisfying fans once again. This time around, the lyricist has caught our attention with his “Magic Potion” single.

The gritty, sensual effort landed on Friday (January 27) via South Coast Music Group/Capitol Records. The accompanying music video takes place in Atlanta and was directed by frequent collaborator NoRatchetss.

“‘Magic Potion’ is one of them street bangers you expect to hear when you in the club. It’s just about having motion and winning with a mix of having a pretty female that’s down to ride,” Toosii previously said of his latest release.

In the visual, the 23-year-old heads out for a night at the strip club, but later finds himself caught up in a Queen & Slim-style love story. As he heads out to pull a job, a dancer joins him. Unfortunately, things go sideways and they have to flee and evade the authorities pursuing them.

Prior to “Magic Potion,” Toosii grew his fanbase throughout 2022 thanks to titles like “Lonely” and “Love is…,” as well as “Keeper.” As for collaborations, he notably worked with 3Breezy on “Gangsta Wit It (Pt.2)” and Lil Gotit on “Take Care” also featuring Millie Go Lightly.

Quotable Lyrics:

Put a pic’ up on the ‘Gram, she throw the gang up when she posin’
And I slide on her any time, she don’t give a damn ’bout short notice
I told baby, if she was a flower, she would probably be a Lotus
Ain’t no drug, but that pussy keep me rollin’

Toosii Admits To Cheating On His Girlfriend, Denounces Fame

Toosii took a break from dropping new music in 2022 — now the 22-year old rapper is making headlines for his personal affairs. After releasing his single “Heartaches” earlier this month and announcing the release of his new project, Boys Don’t Cry, Toosii penned a letter to his fans about the state of his mental health. “I went a whole year without dropping a project battling problems with my mental health and just trying to learn to be the best person I can for the people I love and myself,” he shared in a note.

While fans credited the star’s recent energy to his alleged healing process, Toosii revealed on Wednesday (September 28) that he recently cheated on his girlfriend, Samaria, and blamed “fame” as the reason his transgressions came to light. In an Instagram video, the “Love Cycle” singer shared, “[I] stepped away from posting my relationship and having a relationship broadcasted on the Internet, simply because I make music. When y’all think of me, I want y’all to think of the music. I just want to be an artist.”

But Toosii’s frustrations didn’t end there. He went on to ask his Instagram followers to remove the “couples” pages of him and Samaria, adding “Even to the fan pages, that got the mashup of me and shorty…I really wish y’all would take it down.” Following his video rant, the Syracuse born star fame posted a note on social for his fans, denouncing fame and while showing love to Samaria and their five-month old son.

“F*** this fame s**t,” he wrote. “Y’all could have it. I should’ve never even started rapping for y’all, I should’ve just kept my music to myself like I did in the beginning. To my son, I love you man. I wont be nothing like what my dad was to my mom. I love your mom and she know that. My intentions pure, but the world paint a f****d up picture bout a n**** like I’m suppose to be perfrect. F*** the fame, I’m out.”

Samaria has yet to speak out on the allegations. Share your thoughts below.

Toosii Details A Rotten Romance In His Somber ‘Love Is…’ Video

South Coast Music rapper Toosii returns with a melancholy new single that finds him doing an about-face on his previous song, “Keeper.” Whereas in that song he thought he’d found someone who fulfilled all his romantic needs, in “Love Is…” he details a relationship gone rotten, questioning his actions and her dedication post-breakup. Over a moody, piano-driven sample of Julia Michaels’ 2021 song “Love Is Weird,” Toosii bares his aching soul, admitting to losing hope in the possibility of finding love.

The new single’s robust 180 from his previous contemplations of love. The 2021 XXL Freshman’s previous songs on the subject include the nostalgic “5’5” with Latto and “What I’m On,” presenting a much more optimistic view of romance. I guess you could say the honeymoon phase is over but on the bright side, Toosii is clearly just as effective at making wounded heartbreak anthems as he is woozy come-ons.

The Syracuse, New York-born Raleigh, North Carolina rapper hasn’t made a lot of noise since his 2021 mixtape Thank You For Believing, but his increased activity suggests he might be waking from his year-long hibernation after dropping “Keeper,” “Secrets,” and now, “Love Is…” in relatively quick succession. Stay tuned.

Toosii Found Himself A ‘Keeper’ A He Couldn’t Be Happier About It In His New Video

Toosii has a knack for raw and honest ballads that pertain to love. Many of these records focus on his relationship with his longtime girlfriend Samaria Davis, whom he recently announced is pregnant with their first child. You can look to records like “What I’m On” and “Head Over Hills” to show how Toosii views at love and showcases it. After staying low on the music end for some time, Toosii returns with a new track and it sees him back in the pocket that he’s been so comfortable in.

“Keeper” stands as a tender release that Toosii uses to celebrate and praise a woman he plans on spending a lifetime with. The track arrives with a heartfelt visual that captures Toosii writing his thoughts down as the clips of various happy couples appear on the screen. Toosii and Samaria are rightfully amongst the various couples that appear in the video as the latter joins the rapper to show off her baby bump. At the end of the video, Toosii takes a moment to share why he views Samaria as a keeper and his answer goes back to their earlier days as a couple.

The track arrives after Toosii dropped his fifth project Thank You For Believing and its deluxe reissue last year.
