Joe Budden Fires Back At Critics Saying He’s Unqualified Amid Drake Feud

Joe Budden went after his haters during the latest episode of his podcast, this week, explaining why he’s qualified to speak on hip-hop music. The comments come amid his ongoing feud with Drake over his negative response to For All The Dogs.

“This certainty that I speak with, it’s not internet bravado,” Budden began. “It’s not like competence from what’s commented. It’s not fragile. I speak this way because I did it. I lived it, and I’m still here to talk about it… There will never be a space on this earth where there’s a music conversation happening and I’m not qualified to have it. I have done this at every fucking level and am only still here because of my fortitude and my ability to innovate and be at the precipice when counted out at all times. I beg of you, if I’m not qualified to talk music, if I’m not qualified to discuss rap as it drops at a time when nobody is discussing rap as it drops, then who the fuck is?”

As for his feud with Drake, things popped off when Budden argued that For All The Dogs is rap for “children.” “[Drake is] rapping for the children,” he said. “I had to look up how old this n***a was when I finished listening to the album … You gonna be 37 years old. Get the fuck away from some of these younger n****s, and stop fucking these 25-year-olds … Why are you still fucking the 25-year-olds? You’re a 37-year-old billionaire.”

Drake & Joe Budden Feud Turns Into Intense Movie Trailer: Watch

Even with a grand closing to the It’s All A Blur tour and the release of For All The Dogs, Drake still had time to address his naysayers, specifically, Joe Budden. The two rappers have a love-hate relationship that stems back to Drake’s early mixtape days. Nonetheless, Joe Budden’s recent critique of For All The Dogs provoked the ire of Drake who unleashed a scathing response to the podcast host regarding his career choices.

“You have failed at music,” Drake commented under Akademiks’ post in response to Joe Budden’s criticism. “You left it behind to do what you are doing in this clip cause this is what actually pays your bills. For any artist watching this just remember you are watching a failure give their opinion on his idea of a recipe for success…a quitter give their opinion on how to achieve longevity…”

Drake & Joe Budden’s Beef Turns Into A Fiery Documentary Trailer

As Drake and his dad chimed in on the latest episode of The Joe Budden Podcast, a fan turned the beef into a high-stakes movie trailer. Soundtracked by Drake’s “No Friends In The Enemies,” the two-and-a-half minute trailer opens up with Budden declaring that the Canadian star’s 2016 album Views sounds “real f—in’ uninspired” before cutting to a clip of Drake praising the former MC. It’s a heated clip that undoubtedly captures the odd relationship that Drake and Joe Budden have developed over the years.

During the latest episode of the Joe Budden Podcast, Joe Budden explained that he wasn’t a fan of Lil Yachty’s influence on Drake across For All The Dogs. However, he also stated that Drake is nearly 40 and should be delivering more mature music as opposed to trying to appeal to the youth. “He rappin’ for the children. Yo dawg, I had to look up how old this n****a was when I finished listening to the album,” Budden said on the show. “You are 36. Your birthday is in 20 days. I Googled that, too. You’re going to be 37 years old. Get the f**k away from some of these younger n***as. And stop f***ing these 25-year-olds.”

Drake Praised Joe Budden In Resurfaced Footage: Watch

Drake engaged in a bitter feud with Joe Budden over the weekend. Overall, this all stems from Joe’s initial reactions to For All The Dogs. Budden felt like the album was weak and that it showcased an unwillingness for Drizzy to grow. Instead, Budden felt like the whole album was made for the kids, which doesn’t make sense considering his age.

“[Drake is] rapping for the children,” Budden said. “I had to look up how old this n***a was when I finished listening to the album … You gonna be 37 years old. Get the fuck away from some of these younger n****s, and stop fucking these 25-year-olds. … Why are you still fucking the 25-year-olds? You’re a 37-year-old billionaire.” Drake did not find this criticism particularly amusing, and he launched a scathing attack as a result. He isn’t letting his foot off the gas, however, some feel like the hate is misguided. This is especially true as footage has surfaced of Drizzy praising Joe Budden at a show back in 2009.

Drake x Joe Budden

“I’m happy, I’m honored — I’m honored to be around you, man,” Drake said to Budden. “So, I can’t be honest on your network, here? I can’t be honest to your fans and say I’m honored to be around you?” If you are aware of the lore, you know that Drake was heavily influenced by Joe Budden. Budden was a pioneer when it came to being vulnerable in hip-hop and the megastar took note. This old footage just speaks to Joe’s influence and how Drake was probably deeply hurt by Budden’s review. Needless to say, it is easy to see how that IG onslaught came about.

Furthermore, a lot of fans are using this footage as a “this you” of sorts. With Drake calling Joe Budden a “bum,” to put it mildly, fans are seeing some hypocrisy here. In the internet’s eyes, it is a sign of weakness as well as a sign that Budden’s critiques hit too close to home. Let us know what you think of all of this, in the comments section below. Drake Disses Joe Budden’s Co-Host Parks, He Fires Back

Drake dropped his new album For All The Dogs yesterday, and though most fans are loving it, others weren’t so impressed. Joe Budden shared his thoughts on his podcast, claiming that Drake is making music for “children,” and advising him to start hanging around people his own age. While some thought Budden’s criticism was fair, others thought it was entirely too harsh, and even hypocritical. Drake didn’t take kindly to Budden’s commentary, responding in a lengthy Instagram comment.

Drake didn’t hold back, calling Budden a “quitter” and claiming that he only comments on other people’s work in order to make a living since he “failed at music.” The Canadian hitmaker didn’t stop there, however. He went on to accuse Budden of being jealous of him, adding that he thinks he’s simply “projecting his own self hate” onto him.

Parks Is Credited On Drake’s Song

Budden was pretty short with his response, telling him that he’ll “grow up sooner or later.” He also noted how, “Father time is undefeated.” Drake went on to throw some more jabs on his Instagram Story. He continued to poke fun at Budden, and even took aim at one of the co-hosts of his podcast, Parks. “Sorry one more thing,” he captioned a screenshot of Parks. “Imagine listening to Mark Zuckerberg tell the next generation about good verses and turnt beats.”

Parks has now responded to the shade on his own Instagram Story, sharing a screenshot of the credits for Drake’s 2018 Scorpion track, “Sandra’s Rose.” The image reveals that Parks is credited as “Studio Personnel.” Some think Drake might have messed with the wrong guy, while others insist it doesn’t disprove his point. What do you think of Parks from The Joe Budden Podcast responding to the diss? How do you feel about Drake’s reaction to Joe Budden’s For All The Dogs criticism? Joe Budden Reacts To Jeezy & Jeannie Mai’s Divorce: “I’m Not Surprised”

Joe Budden discussed Jeezy and Jeannie Mai’s ongoing divorce during the latest episode of his podcast on Saturday. In doing so, he addressed Mai’s controversial resurfaced comments on refusing to date Black men. Budden says that news of the split “saddens” him, but he’s not surprised.

“Y’all do know that before she got married, there was that clip from her show saying she wouldn’t date a Black guy, right?” Joe Budden asked his co-hosts. “At home is where you’re going to be true to your beliefs, whatever they are. I don’t know what happened between them, but that comment, and him filing… I hope it would have worked. It saddens me that it didn’t work, because they were cute as a couple. But I’m not surprised.”

As for the full comments, Mai had been speaking about her relationship with her previous husband, Freddy Harteis, during an episode of The Real. “I loved Black guys, but for me, dark meat on the side, white [meat] keeps me mean and lean. I used to date Black men, I think they’re attractive. But what I decided to stick to is, because it just kept me happiest, was my man Freddy who happens to be white,” she said at the time. Jeezy filed for divorce in Fulton County Superior Court in Georgia on September 14. He noted the marriage as being “irretrievably broken.” He is seeking joint legal custody of his and Mai’s one-year-old child.

Joe Budden Discusses Jeezy’s Divorce

Page Six reports that Mai is “devastated” by the situation. “[Jeannie] deeply loves Jeezy, and she wants to work things out. She did not get married to get divorced. This was not a part of the plan. This is not how she ever imagined things would go down,” a source told the outlet. News of the divorce comes after the release of Jeezy’s new memoir, Adversity for Sale: Ya Gotta Believe. Tasha K Blasts Joe Budden For Siding With Cardi B & Shelving Their Interview

Tasha K jumped on Instagram Live on Saturday to lambast Joe Budden for shelving an interview they did together out of respect for Cardi B. Tasha K labeled the iconic podcast host “all bark, but no bite.” Cardi B famously sued Tasha K back in 2019 for defamation.

“I now understand why nobody fucks with Joe,” Tasha K said. “Joe is all bark, but no bite. You said you was going to do this, but then when I hear, ‘Oh, he’s gotta comb through the interview, he’s gotta make sure this and make sure that.’ I bodied each and every one of those Black men to the point that all of them said after they were done, ‘We’re winos.’”

She continued: “I sat outside and I had a conversation with this Black man. I said, ‘You know what’s sad? Is that we cannot as Black media stick together for the betterment of the people.’ And he was like, ‘Black media will never do it.’ And now, he’s literally owning up to his own words.” From there, Tasha said she regrets doing the interview, while further calling out Cardi B. “I honestly regret sitting down with him and giving him that one interview that would shake social media so bad that it shook his fake ass… in that lace shirt with his belly sitting over his dick that he did exactly what the BBL told him to do, because just like every other weak-ass Black man they choose ass over bills,” she said.

Tasha K Calls Out Joe Budden

Budden’s decision to cancel the Tasha K interview comes after he recently feuded with Cardi after criticizing her new song “Bongos.” After Cardi took issue with his comments, Budden eventually admitted that he regretted the beef and that it “hurts my heart.”

Joe Budden Blames Publicists For The Reporting Of His Cardi B “Bongos” Criticism

Joe Budden recently had some harsh words for the new Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion song. Overall, “Bongos” has proven to be a polarizing track. Not everyone is a fan, and many have made their opinions clear. Budden for instance, said the song is too commercial for what it is going for. Additionally, he likened the song to what Sexyy Red is doing right now, which is a lot raunchier. On the latest episode of his podcast, however, Budden went after publicists. As he explains, he thinks they are to blame for his criticisms blowing up in the media.

“Did somebody check me? No, I actually got an invite tonight to the ‘Bongos’ listening party,” Joe Budden said. “TMZ and along with a number of other outlets and publications did, like y’all always do, post my opinions and put it on the assembly belt. I want to say that I know when that happens that one of y’all’s labels or teams or publicist people out there doing that. I know that it’s y’all.”

Budden then went on to explain that he is a big fan of Cardi and he doesn’t want people playing as if he is not a supporter of hers. “When I’m saying something bad and it gets picked up like that and put everywhere that’s somebody else’s team, somebody else’s squad holding them down and they’re just using me as the frontman,” Budden continued. “And don’t play with me like that because y’all know I f*** with Cardi. But I stand in what I said about the song.”

Vince Staples Jokes All Men Should Spend A Week In Jail

Vince Staples has always been know for his eccentric point of view and zany antics. Recently, the rapper jokingly suggested that men would benefit from spending a week in jail. During an episode of The Joe Budden Podcast, Vince joined the crew to talk film, the music industry, and more. However, it was one moment in particular that caught fan’s attention. Vince claimed that if men spent a week in confinement, it might humble them.

“I also think we need a week in jail, just as men in general,” he began. “Like when you got to have a n*gga tell you, ‘hey, don’t stand up and piss in here,’ you learn boundaries and respect. Cuz you don’t know what he in there for or what he gone do to you.” He continued: “You learn, ‘aye man, it’s not always about me.’” Joe and his co-hosts could barely contain their laughter after Vince’s s

Throughout the rest of the interview, he also discussed the decline in festival performances. In Vince’s opinion, how an artist performs has a significant impact. He noted it helps when the artist has a strong fanbase. “It depends on how you perform,” he said. “If your show is catered to a larger audience, it can work out.” He continued: “You can get on the festival stage and embarrass yourself. And if that happen, then it’s quiet… Are you making a show to entertain people or are you making a show to boost your ego?”

He added, “You have to create a show that’s for people that are passing by,” he said. “I learned a lot about that from Chance. We were on the Mac Miller tour a long time ago. The way he incorporated dancing, Lauryn Hill, and intertwining things that didn’t have much to do with him but the fans understood it and he made sure he was entertaining, by the time he got to the bigger stages he was a proven performer.”

Vince Staples Has A Theory About Why Some New Artists’ Festival Performances Have Been So Bad Lately

Vince Staples has a theory about why some new artists’ festival performances have been so bad lately. The internet has made it easier than ever to find and build an audience for young rappers just starting out, and the boom in new festivals has given them both a platform to perform and an avenue to filling their bank accounts. However, fans have noted that many of these performances have been weaker than those of prior generations, citing poor stage presence and breath control and artists performing over their vocal tracks as pain points.

Appearing on The Joe Budden Podcast, Long Beach rapper Vince Staples — himself a decade-long performing veteran who has played such festivals as Camp Flog Gnaw, Coachella, Primavera Sound, and Summer Smash — offered his thoughts on this phenomenon. Asked whether the festival bubble has put a ceiling on artists’ potential, Vince said:

“It depends on how you perform,” he asserted, after naming a few artists in the rock, indie, and pop spaces who’ve had long, successful careers performing at festivals. “If your show is catered to a larger audience, it can work out.” He elaborated, “You can get on the festival stage and embarrass yourself. And if that happen, then it’s quiet… Are you making a show to entertain people or are you making a show to boost your ego?” He provides some examples while allowing that the key to a successful festival show is engaging the casual, curious passersby.

“You have to create a show that’s for people that are passing by,” he said.

Vince gave one last piece of insight into what makes for a good festival show: “Learning how to tour, you have to have bodies of work,” he insisted. “You don’t even have a full set with these 2 min singles…we need more full length projects.”

Joe Budden Calls Logic “Weird” For Exposing His Mom For Using The N-Word

Joe Budden says that Logic is “weird” for recently “snitching” on his mom for having used the n-word. While appearing on Andrew Santino’s Whiskey Ginger podcast in May, Logic recalled a time his mother was stabbed for using the word. Flash forward a few months, and Joe Budden discussed the incident on a recent episode of his podcast.

“My mom got stabbed,” Logic recalled on Santino’s podcast. “Yeah, she was in the park, hit the hard ‘r’ on somebody, which she also did to me and my siblings all the time. She stepped out and thought it was all good and some bitch just yanked her up. They stabbed this bitch up. In her side and in her back. A couple times.”

On Saturday, Budden played the clip on The Joe Budden Podcast and the co-hosts quickly started clowning Logic. “And you want me to think that this guy is okay with who he is and just his own skin and being himself?” Budden questioned. “What’s that about? That’s weird. Why you snitching on moms?”

From there, he brought up Logic signing his father to Bobby Boy Records in June. He added: “When he paraded his dad everywhere on a leash, I didn’t say nothing, but I did think it was odd. Then he signed his dad… seems familiar. That was the trend, like, 600 years ago. Getting paperwork on these n****s [laughs].” Check out the full clip below.

Joe Budden Calls Out Logic

It’s far from the first time Budden has come at Logic on his podcast. Earlier this year, he pleaded with the 33-year-old to retire from music. “Logic, I beg of you, I’m pleading with you: please join me in retirement,” he said. “Never step near a recording device again! Throw your phone in the ocean! Be allergic to microphones! Promise your fans nothing! Don’t go to the studio ever again!” Logic eventually responded to the hate while speaking with MSNBC‘s Ari Melber, labeling Budden a “hater.”
