Joe Budden Criticizes “Sad” Hip Hop 50 Celebrations

Last year was jam-packed with events to celebrate the 50th anniversary of hip-hop, but not everybody was impressed. Joe Budden recently shared his thoughts on the festivities on an episode of his podcast, echoing KRS-One’s criticism. According to him, the Hip Hop 50 celebrations he saw lacked hip-hop, which made them pointless in his eyes.

“I hate all them sh*ts,” Budden began. “They coulda celebrated Hip Hop and honored Hip Hop, which is what KRS-One was saying. He was saying, ‘Why would I show up to these events to celebrate Hip Hop and there’s no Hip Hop there?’” His criticism didn’t stop there, however. He went on to describe how some of the events even made him feel “depressed,” as seeing his favorite artists in rough shape was a disappointment. “That’s sad for me,” he added.

Joe Budden Agrees With KRS-One’s Hip Hop 50 Comments

As for KRS-One’s take on the Hip Hop 50 celebrations, he revealed in December that he turned down LL Cool J’s invite to the Grammys’, as he felt that they were responsible for exploiting the culture. “I was asked about two months ago; they asked me to do it and I turned them down,” he began.

“With all due respect, LL COOL J himself called me, spoke to my wife and pretty much begged for me to be on the show but we turned him down. And reason being is because I know people don’t understand this — and I say this respectfully. KRS-One is a Hip Hop extremist. I’m not violent, a violent extremist. I’m ins*ne with this culture. I know I must have lost my mind in this.” What do you think of Joe Budden’s take on last year’s Hip Hop 50 celebrations? Do you agree with him, or not? Dr. Umar Doubles Down On Eminem Comments

Dr. Umar once again lit the Internet on fire with his belief that Eminem should never enter the “best rapper of all time” conversation. According to him, doing so would constitute as white supremacy, as it’s impossible for a non-Black person to excel the most at a Black art form, tradition, practice, etc. It was quite the topic of conversation online, albeit an old one, and there’s not much wrong with that the psychologist and social media provocateur originally said. After all, it’s just a take, and one that he recently clarified during a new social media video. In it, the North Philly native explained how this is nothing personal against Marshall Mathers, but rather a matter of cultural preservation and adherence.

“I said that no non-African can ever be the best of anything in African culture,” Umar Johnson’s IG Live clip began. “You can’t be the best cook of African food, you can’t be the best rapper of African hip-hop, you can’t be the best singer, you can’t be the best priest of African culture. Nothing we create can a non-African be the best at. First of all. It makes absolutely no sense at all.

Dr. Umar Revisits His Eminem Take: Watch

“I don’t even see how an African can come to the conclusion that a non-African can be the best at anything when we are the oldest people,” Dr. Umar went on. “We are the first people, and we are the most numerous people. So when you say a non-African is better at X, Y, and Z than a member of the race, you’re saying that this person can do this better than two billion Africans. Or you’re saying not only can they do it better than two billion Africans on the planet, you’re saying they can do it better than all of the billions of Africans that have ever walked the planet Earth. You know and I know that that is absolutely ridiculous. You know like I know that that is absolutely ridiculous.

“This is not about Mr. Marshall Mathers, I don’t have nothing personal against that man,” he concluded. “But from a cultural integrity perspective, haven’t they stolen enough from us? Haven’t they appropriated enough from us? Haven’t they robbed, [stolen], killed, enslaved, lynched, miseducated, mass-incarcerated, politically dominated us enough? You mean to tell me that after 404 years you got Black people running around playing defense attorney and cheerleader for white folks? The fact that you got Black people arguing for a white man to be considered the greatest of all time in an African art form speaks to how psychologically ill we are as a race of people.” For more news and updates on Eminem and Umar Johnson, come back to HNHH.

Birdman Issues A Warning To Joe Budden Amid NBA Youngboy Spat

Birdman is someone who has consistently come to the defense of NBA YoungBoy. Overall, YoungBoy has had quite a few enemies over the years. Currently, his enemy seems to be none other than Joe Budden. In fact, he is in a feud with Joe pertaining to the podcaster’s criticism of his music. During a recent podcast episode, Joe said: “That n***a’s trash. He’s horrible. He is horrible. He is horrible. Really, really, really, really, really bad.” Budden also went on to say that the Youngboy love is inflated by YouTube numbers.

These comments subsequently led to a spirited rant by Youngboy himself. Overall, he went at Budden in a pretty brutal fashion. Moreover, he even took some shots at Joe’s manhood. “Don’t speak on me. I don’t play that s**t.” Don’t rat on me neither, you p***y b***h,” the rapper said. “Stupid dumb b***h, yo d**k don’t get even hard no more, clown-a*s n***a. Ain’t no sabotaging me, b***h. Joe Budden Trashes NBA YoungBoy: Watch

Another day, another hot take about the rap world from Joe Budden, who will probably receive an avalanche of threats for this one. Moreover, during the most recent episode of his podcast, he started to go through his notes in order to find what other topics he and the team could discuss. Eventually, the rapper got to a question from himself to himself, and to paraphrase it, he basically asked himself: “Are you sure you want to do this?” Then, he decided to jump into the fire and called NBA YoungBoy “trash” and a “horrible” MC. The Slaughterhouse lyricist went on to explain his take, which included some harsh reflections on his success.

“Uh, what else do I have written down here…” Joe Budden began his comments with skeptical anticipation. “‘You ready to tell the truth about NBA YoungBoy?’ Am I ready to do this? That n***a is trash. He’s horrible. He is horrible, he is horrible, he is really, really, really, really, really bad. I don’t know him as a person, I’m only speaking about music. He is really, really, really bad. And that thing happened with him. When he was out, the label pushed a button and did some YouTube s**t. All the little kids had to just come to the f***ing gathering and tell you about NBA YoungBoy’s views and how great he is and how awesome he is and how amazing he’s doing.

Joe Budden Shows No Mercy To NBA YoungBoy: Watch

“Now that the label’s backed up a bit, and now that we done had about three or four projects while he’s been in Utah on house arrest– I know [he had way more than that],” Joe Budden concluded. “We’ve had way more than that,” Ice added on the podcast. “That, to me, is where the problem lies. Because earlier YoungBoy music don’t sound like this to me. Like, he just dropped a single today. I listened to it last night, and I cut it off midway through. I’m just like, I can’t. [The difference between his music then and now is that] I could hear it. Like, literally.”

Joe Budden On Drake’s “Scary Hours 3”: “I Have Absolutely Nothing To Say”

Joe Budden responded to Drake dissing him on his new project, Scary Hours 3, by refusing to comment on the songs. When asked about his thoughts on the release during the latest episode of his podcast, Budden remarked that he had nothing to say.

“Not a peep,” he admitted, as caught by Complex. “Not one word about it, not one word. Here to listen to y’all. I have absolutely nothing to say… I’m gonna keep my thoughts to myself.” Despite pressure from his co-hosts, he refused to budge. As for Drake’s bar referencing Budden, he raps on “Stories About My Brother”: “And n***as bound to slip eventually, like they sent permission/Imagine us getting our validation from a ex-musician searching for recognition/Same story every time, they heckling, repetition/I’m top of the mountain, these n***as still down at base camp, they planning they expedition.”

Joe Budden On “Scary Hours 3”

Drake and Budden have been feuding since the release of For All The Dogs. At the time, the podcast host accused Drake of “rapping for the children.” In response, Drake called out Budden on several occasions on social media. At one point, he wrote to Budden: “You left it behind to do what you are doing in this clip cause this is what actually pays your bills. For any artist watching this just remember you are watching a failure give their opinion on his idea of a recipe for success…a quitter give their opinion on how to achieve longevity.”

“Please make sure that the viewers can’t see up my dress. I’m a married woman and mother,” Tasha K wrote first. “Oh… Stupid me thinking you might lead with an apology lol. But duly noted, I got you lol,” Budden’s first texts read, to which Tasha responds: “I apologized in a full video. But I apologize for cursing you out. Now your turn.” When Tasha K posted screenshots of the texts on Instagram, Budden commented: “Apology accepted Tasha.”

Budden previously claimed he wouldn’t release the interview due to Cardi B’s recent lawsuit against Tasha K. “Like I already told her, that interview was a problem legally, financially, and algorithmically. It was a lot going on in that interview. It would be foolish of me to just put out an interview with the girl that just got sued and lost for $4 million without checking this,” he said on his Joe Budden After Hours show in September. Cesar Pina “Almost Got Himself” In A Lot Of Trouble, Joe Budden Explains Scuffle

Joe Budden recently faced some smoke in real life when Cesar Pina’s brother pulled up on him. For those unaware, Pina is DJ Envy’s business associate, and they both faced a lot of accusations of fraud and shady business deals recently. In fact, it even resulted in The Breakfast Club host’s former (but allegedly current) partner getting arrested. Of course, the Slaughterhouse MC commented on this situation and wasn’t too forgiving to either man. Regardless, he kept his composure when Pina’s brother confronted him, and on his podcast, he went into more detail about what happened. “Wednesday, this n***a rolled over in the spot [a bar],” the rapper began. “Totally empty, completely empty. Tuesday and Wednesday be slow. So it was completely empty in there, me and Big Mo, shout out to Mo. Me and Big Mo roll up in there and sit at the bar.

“Actually, the bar’s crowded,” Joe Budden continued. “So now I sit all the way by the bathroom. For the viewing audience at home, that’s the corner, that’s the cut away from things. You can’t be seen and all of this, yada yada yada. So me and Mo sit there, we chillin’. [I get a drink from someone unknown], the waitress says, ‘Flipping New Jersey.’ Now, I say, I only know one Flipping New Jersey. ‘Oh, s**t, maybe Cease is up in here.’ So I get up, I go outside to this little smoke section, where I could see a little.I don’t see nobody, right? So then she gives a description. ‘Nah, it’s n***a with a skully and glasses. He’s not white, but he’s not black, he’s something.’

Joe Budden Explains Confrontation With Cesar Pina’s Brother: Watch

“It’s not Cesar ‘Flipping New Jersey,’” Joe Budden continued. “So to me now, this is just a weirdo fan being funny, cool. Or maybe somebody who really likes Mo. [Cesar’s brother] sent me the drink, and he keeps getting up and going over, and he’s got some people with him. ‘Just be careful.‘ And I said, ‘Thank you, man. I appreciate that.’ Then his friend gets up, he’s walking, he positions himself at the corner of the bar. What I’m telling you is it was a lot of wocky, goofy s**t going on in there. But now the Lakers were getting smacked, I’m glued to this s**t. As soon as they go into overtime, motherf***ers in the spot hit all the lights, click-click, cut the TVs off, bong! ‘Everybody out!’ You motherf***er, you gotta be kidding me. But that’s cool. Everybody out, it ain’t but five people in there.

“See, that’s the other thing; these clips say somebody pulled up on me,” he concluded. “No, these goofy n***as was just in there. Ain’t nobody pulled up, they was there. All the news is ‘Yo, man, you smoking.’ And ‘Who’s that girl?’ F**k my safety. But anyway, I light the cig, these n***as come out and they just standing there looking like they’re waiting for the Uber. Non-threatening-looking n***as. I still don’t know who this dude is. He pulls his phone out, and that’s what you hear. ‘Budden! Budden!’ I’m like, ‘Please don’t tape me.’ I walk inside, when I walk out, and I have a few words with him. He almost got himself in a real pickle.” For more news and the latest updates on Joe Budden, stay logged into HNHH.

J Cole Responds To Joe Budden Saying He Washed Drake On “First Person Shooter”

J Cole recently found himself on Drake’s new album For All The Dogs. They were on the track “First Person Shooter” together and it proved to be a very successful track. In fact, it reached number one on the Billboard charts. However, the song got some criticism from Joe Budden, who said Drake was too passive on the track. Lil Yachty disagreed and brought up the criticism to Cole on his podcast, A Safe Place. As Cole explains, the artists themselves can set narratives and not journalists. Although, Cole does believe Budden’s feud with Drake had something to do with it.

“The specific incident you’re talking about, that’s a whole different conversation,” Cole said. “But, in general, do I think the online media is a problem or do I think they’re a part of the problem? No, I don’t actually. I think music is the leader. The artists lead the conversation. [Journalists] can spin it a certain way, but ultimately we lead the conversation.” It was an interesting comment that led to more analysis. In Cole’s eyes, Drake was thinking more about the song than anything else.

J Cole Speaks

“In that moment, [Drake] chose the song over the competition and what they  gonna say,” Cole explained. “And that takes a level of egolessness that’s… you’re putting your ego to the side and like, ‘Yo, I wanna make the best song.’ Drake ain’t looking at it like, ‘I’ma take Cole’s f*cking’ head off at some point.’ Nah.” So there you have it, there is a reason why Cole may have gone harder than Drake on his song. That said, there is no doubt that the fans ended up winning with this collaboration.

Joe Budden Continues To Roast DJ Envy Amid Scam Allegations

Joe Budden is someone who never shies away from speaking on massive topics. Overall, he has been very vocal about what is happening with DJ Envy. Envy is being accused of taking part in a real estate scam with his business partner, Cesar Pina. Pina has been arrested already, although he is currently out of jail on bond. However, Envy continues to be investigated, and many are curious as to what is going to end up coming of this.

On Joe’s podcast, he jokingly gave props to Envy for continuing with his job over at Power 105. “I got to give it to Envy,” Budden began. “He’s still at work talking about ‘Morning!’ We as the audience like, ‘N***a, you can shut up with that. It’s over for all that. Today is the day of reckoning. It’s over for all of that. The Feds is pulling up n***a.” Eventually, Budden got serious and spoke about just how serious all of this is right now.

Joe Budden Has A Laugh

“I think this is very very severe,” Budden said. “I’m not certain I’m not certain how big this is but I think it’s going to be way bigger than this. I’ve been telling you and you that for months,” Budden added, pointing at two of his co-hosts. “I think this is barely scratching the f*cking surface and I’m giving grace by just reporting on this.” Overall, Budden is very curious as to how it will play out. As for his co-hosts, they understand full well that this is not good, in the slightest.

There is still a lot that needs to be reported in regard to what is happening with Envy. Although some people are quick to allege he is guilty, there is a lot that still has to be figured out.
