Tiffany Haddish Weighs In On Common Wanting To Marry Jennifer Hudson

Tiffany Haddish says she’s rooting for Common and Jennifer Hudson to get married after the iconic rapper confirmed his future plans with Hudson during an appearance on The Breakfast Club. After suggesting he’d marry her, Common also discussed a key difference between his current and past relationships. Haddish and Common dated between 2020 and 2021.

“If I’m gonna get married, it’s to her. Simple as that,” Common said of the future of their relationship. He added: “This is definitely — with all due respect to all the women I’ve dated ’cause it’s all love — but this is a really healthy and beautiful relationship.” He also spoke about how they’ve bonded over both being from Chicago. “Having a lady from Chicago, that has allowed me to home and just be home. I hadn’t done that in a while where I was just going home and being around my loved ones and having no work to do,” he said. “That helped me with this album [The Auditorium Vol. 1 with Pete Rock] because going to your roots, you gotta always recharge and plug in to them roots. I feel like that’s what I wanted to give to Chicago again. When you’re with somebody who’s from where you from, it’s a different kind of connection.”

42 Dugg Defends Eminem’s Legacy In Detroit After Skilla Baby’s Controversial Take

42 Dugg has spoken out in defense of Eminem as being the greatest Detroit rapper of all time. He addressed Skilla Baby’s recent comments on the legendary rapper during an appearance on The Breakfast Club on Friday. Skilla had argued that Eminem isn’t the city’s “best rapper” while speaking with Keke Palmer on her podcast, Baby, This Is Keke Palmer.

“That’s probably how they feel,” Dugg said of his city. “The new kids don’t even know about him. How would they? You have to really be a music person to go back… I know. That’s always my card when somebody get to bringing up somebody from somewhere else, I’m like, ‘We got Eminem.’ I feel like he the GOAT.” From there, Dugg listed some of his favorite songs from the Detroit legend. He continued:  “[Eminem] made deep music. I go listen to ‘Toy Soliders’ or ‘Stan’ — those my favorite songs. So when it’s my turn to make real songs, I already damn near know how to channel it. ‘Cause I already know what I’m looking for: I’m looking for a ‘Stan’ type of song.”

Skilla’s argument centered around the idea that no single rapper in Detroit is the best. Instead, he said the title moves from artist to artist depending on the time. “Numbers-wise, Eminem is the best Detroit rapper, but the gag is nobody would say that in Detroit. Everybody had a turn being Detroit’s favorite rapper,” he explained.

Charlamagne Tha God Admits To Disregarding Tyla’s Interview Requests: “I Have A Job To Do”

Earlier this month, Tyla sat down for an interview with The Breakfast Club, which ultimately earned Charlamagne Tha God some backlash. At one point in the conversation, he asked the songstress about her identity as a South African “coloured” person. He was shut down right away. Her publicist made it clear that she wouldn’t be answering any questions about that particular topic, prompting some viewers to accuse her of denying her Blackness. She later addressed this in a statement, clarifying that this was not at all her intention.

Peter Rosenberg was among the first to call Charlamagne out. He claimed that he made the interview “miserable” for both Tyla and her team. Moreover, he accused the personality of going through the list of questions she preferred not to be asked in the interview and asking each one anyway. He was obviously onto something, as Charlamagne has now confirmed that more or less, that’s exactly what he did.

Charlamagne Tha God Discusses Tyla’s Breakfast Club Interview

According to Charlamagne, Tyla’s team previously asked him not to bring up Kai Cenat, her absence from Chris Brown’s tour, a recent injury, comparisons to other artists, her dating life, or her racial identity. “I said to them, ‘No,’” he revealed. He also claimed that at that point, it was up to them to either prepare Tyla for those topics to be brought up or just cancel the interview altogether.

“I am not a d*ck sucker for record labels,” he later added. “I have a job to do, and my job is for the people.” What do you think of Charlamagne Tha God admitting he asked Tyla questions included on her “do not ask” list? Are you surprised? Is he in the wrong for this or not? Share your thoughts in the comments section down below, and keep an eye on HNHH for more updates.

Charlamagne Tha God Bestows Hip-Hop’s Crown On Kendrick Lamar: “It’s Not Even Close”

Live shows aren’t often a part of hip-hop’s GOAT conversation, but then again, not many live shows are as meaningful as Kendrick Lamar’s “The Pop Out” in Los Angeles on Juneteenth. Moreover, media outlets, critics, and fans alike all rejoiced in reacting to the West Coast spectacle, with The Breakfast Club reopening a conversation on K.Dot’s dominance and skill level in the game. Specifically for Charlamagne Tha God, he believes that the Compton lyricist fully claimed the crown with this concert. Not only did he attribute this to his talent, catalog, and overall artistic impact, but also for making this performance a victory lap of sorts that continued to pressure the competition.

“Kendrick set the tone,” Charlamagne Tha God remarked during his virtual hosting of The Breakfast Club. “He let us know that this was a victory lap, and he came there to blood and crip-walk on his enemy’s head-top. And to me, the show wasn’t about Drake as much it was about Kendrick Lamar becoming the undisputed heavyweight champion of hip-hop. Like, when it comes to this new generation we’ve been watching over the last 15 years, Kendrick is the king of hip-hop, and it’s not even close. And I’m not talking about charts, I’m not talking about streaming records, I’m not talking about, you know, pop songs, singing on songs. I’m talking about bars, rap, hip-hop, culture. Kendrick wears that crown, and it’s not even close.”

The Breakfast Club Speaks On Kendrick Lamar’s “Pop Out”

“I agree,” DJ Envy chimed in after Charlamagne Tha God’s Kendrick Lamar comments. “It was bigger than the Drake beef and all of that. Just what he did for L.A. and the fact that he unified so many different hoods, so many different communities, so many different gangs. Had them all on one stage and what he did for hip-hop last night was simply amazing.”

Meanwhile, a lot of folks wonder how other rappers must be feeling amid all this, especially those that involved themselves in the Kendrick Lamar and Drake beef. Drizzy himself is the subject of much fan speculation, and there’s also The Game’s absence to consider. Is J. Cole feeling survivor’s guilt right now? Perhaps time will tell…

Peter Rosenberg Slams Charlamagne Tha God For “Blindsiding” Tyla In Interview

It’s no secret that Peter Rosenberg has his fair share of issues with Charlamagne Tha God, and now, that lengthy list includes The Breakfast Club host’s recent interview with Tyla. Charlamagne sat down with the South African starlet earlier this week to discuss her career, viral moments, controversies, and more. Some felt as though he crossed the line when he asked about her identity as a South African “coloured” person. Her publicist hastily shut him down, so she refused to answer the question, which earned her some backlash in the end. Social media users began to accuse her of denying her Blackness, which she later had to address in a statement.

According to Rosenberg, however, he was well aware that she wouldn’t be willing to discuss the topic. In a new clip, he calls Charlamagne a bully for asking Tyla questions that were off-limits. He also accuses him of intentionally “blindsiding” the songstress and making her uncomfortable.

Peter Rosenberg Calls Out Charlamagne Tha God For Making Tyla Uncomfortable On The Breakfast Club

According to Rosenberg, Tyla’s team likely provided a list of topics that she’d prefer not to discuss in interviews. Instead of respecting this, Rosenberg claims that Charlamagne must have purposely gone down the list, hitting every single topic that wasn’t approved. “It’s a multitude of topics that he brought up that were on that list,” Rosenberg explained. “If you see the video, he took pride in sticking it to the label, and he did that not worrying about how it made Tyla feel… Who is a young artist, who is already apprehensive and uncomfortable, and made this experience miserable.”

“That’s the kind of guy he is,” he added. What do you think of Peter Rosenberg calling out Charlamagne Tha God for “blindsiding” Tyla on The Breakfast Club? Do you agree that Charlamagne was in the wrong or not? Share your thoughts in the comments section down below, and keep an eye on HNHH for more updates.

Tyla’s ‘Breakfast Club’ Interview Was Interrupted By Her Publicists Saving Her From More Colorism Questions

I thought we already settled this, but apparently, here we go again. South African hitmaker Tyla recently appeared on The Breakfast Club radio show, where a line of questioning undoubtedly designed to generate a viral moment regardless of the consequences for the 22-year-old star was shut down by her protective publicists.

As Charlamagne The God — who’s never been known for his tact and sense of nuance regarding fraught topics — asked her what it means to be “coloured” in South Africa (again, here’s a refresher for those who need it), a voice can be heard from off-camera asking, “Can we not, por favor?”

Tyla, who was already a star in her home country before “Water” broke in America, has had a stellar year to date, releasing a well-received debut album fueled by the Gunna-featuring remix of her breakout hit and cross-cultural collaborations with stars like Becky G and Skillibeng.

Although she was forced to cancel her highly anticipated headlining tour for health reasons, her star continues to rise. And with her previously addressing the differences in how America and South Africa do systemic racism, it’s clear she has no time for the Breakfast Club crew’s usual shenanigans.

You can watch Tyla’s interview with The Breakfast Club above.

Tyla Hilariously Relives Her Kai Cenat Rejection With “The Breakfast Club”

A few weeks ago, rising star Tyla found herself on a stream with none other than Kai Cenat. Overall, Cenat is one of if not the biggest streamer in the entire world. His streams do big numbers and he has always been able to attract big guests. However, he has a young audience which means they do expect him to engage in antics. Moreover, when women are around, the audience can be that much more immature. Ultimately, this can lead to some uncomfortable moments, even if there are no bad intentions behind them.

This is exactly what happened when Cenat decided to ask Tyla out in the middle of his stream. That’s when Tyla replied “we friends tho,” which turned out to be a huge viral moment. Cenat was subsequently clowned for what went down, especially since his timing and demeanor were so off. Today, Tyla was on The Breakfast Club where she got to relive that moment. As she explains, she was simply caught off guard by it. Furthermore, she is someone who doesn’t like to be put on the spot, which is exactly what happened. Consequently, she gave an abrupt answer that some interpreted as soul-crushing.

Tyla Was Shy About The Whole Thing

It doesn’t appear as though there are any hard feelings about this. However, Cenat has not been able to live it down. Kevin Hart roasted him for it weeks ago, and on their most recent stream together, Hart continued to rub salt in the wound. At this point, it could prove to be a very long summer for Cenat, as the internet truly never forgets. Meanwhile, Tyla has an incredible album out right now, and fans cannot get enough of it.

Let us know what you thought of the infamous moment between Tyla and Kai Cenat, in the comments section down below. Did Kai make a mistake by blindsiding Tyla with a date request? How do you feel as though the artist has handled the whole situation? Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for the latest news and updates from around the music world. Bryson Tiller Claims DJ Khaled “Didn’t Really Care” About His Depression

It goes without saying that struggling with one’s mental health can make any task feel insurmountable, particularly for those who suffer from depression. Unfortunately, however, not everyone understands. During a recent appearance on The Breakfast Club, for example, Bryson Tiller recalled opening up to DJ Khaled about his battle with depression. According to him, the advice he received in return was less than effective.

Tiller explained how he was collaborating with DJ Khaled on his 2016 album Major Key when he made the confession. He had told Khaled that he wasn’t in an ideal headspace to take on the project. Instead of empathizing with him, however, he simply told Tiller to channel his pain into the music.

DJ Khaled Told Bryson Tiller To “Put It In The Music”

“If you go listen to the song that I did for Khaled’s Major Key album [‘Ima Be Alright’], I told him before we did it. He was like, ‘Yo, I need a song!’ This is when I’m like super buzzing,” Tiller described. “I was like, ‘I’ma just be honest with you, Khaled, I’m depressed right now. I got a lot going on: lawsuits, people threatening me back in my hometown, all types of stuff.’ He was like, ‘Nah, man, just put it in the music.’ Every time I listen to [‘Ima Be Alright’] I cringe so hard because I’m like, ‘Man, this is not who I am.’ He eventually ended up bringing me ‘Wild Thoughts.’”

Tiller added that while Khaled’s advice helped him a bit, it shouldn’t be everyone’s go-to. “He didn’t really care […] ‘Put it in music’ is not always the best thing. Don’t get me wrong, it works. I hate when I’m going through some sh*t and then I gotta go be [regular],” he said. What do you think of Bryson Tiller revealing that he once opened up to DJ Khaled about having depression? What about Khaled’s blunt advice? Share your thoughts in the comments section down below, and keep an eye on HNHH for more updates.

DJ Envy Explains Why He Was First NY DJ To Play 2Pac’s “Hit ‘Em Up”

DJ Envy goes back to the golden age of hip-hop. He was mentored by DJ Clue, and made a name for himself on the mixtape circuit before becoming one of the hosts of The Breakfast Club. DJ Envy is best known for his radio commentary these days, but he was spinning records during the peak of the 2Pac and Biggie feud in the mid-1990s. He’s a New York native, which made his recent revelation about the feud, and the role he played in it, so surprising. Envy claims to be the first DJ to throw on ‘Pac’s diss on NY radio.

DJ Envy dropped this bombshell during a recent interview with AllHipHop. He was on the side of Biggie and New York, but he told the outlet that he made a point of spinning 2Pac’s scathing diss “Hit ‘Em Up” whenever he could. His reasoning? It was a way to stand out in a crowded field. “I got that record first, and it was like I know a lot of DJs weren’t going to play it,” he reasoned. He cited names like Kid Capri, Craig G, and even his mentor, Clue, as people who were firmly against the concept of giving ‘Pac air time. “At the time,” he admitted. “I was behind everybody… And I was like, ‘I need to get my foot in the door.’”

DJ Envy Leveraged The Song To Boost His Profile

The gambit worked. DJ Envy threw “Hit ‘Em Up” on his mixtapes, and the attention that the song got, both good and bad, worked to his benefit. “I was like ‘I’m gonna play this record’ and then we’ll go from there,” he recalled. “We’ll see what happens. So, they gave me the record and I said, ‘This is going to be one of the biggest mixtapes ever.’” DJ Envy did acknowledge the danger that came with giving air time to the West Coast. He also noted that 2Pac and Biggie were irritated by the decision. Still, a way in is a way in. “It went crazy,” Envy recalled. “At the time, I know Big and Puff was mad. But I was getting my foot in the door and it was music. And that’s where it started.”

DJ Envy’s promotion of the 2Pac and Biggie feud is fascinating when placed in contrast to his opinion on the recent Drake vs. Kendrick Lamar battle. While Breakfast Club co-host Charlamagne tha God labeled it the greatest battle of all time, Envy was underwhelmed. The DJ took issue with the spreading of what seemed to be false information. “Is there any proof of the rap? No,” he asserted. “I think both sides are corny with it. It’s very dangerous… I just wanted to see a rap battle.”

Charlamagne Tha God Reveals He Has A Plan For Eventually Leaving “The Breakfast Club”

For almost 15 years now, fans of The Breakfast Club have been able to tune into the show and hear Charlamagne Tha God serving as host. It doesn’t seem like he’ll be done any time soon but that doesn’t mean he’s avoiding the conversation about what’s next for him. Recently he was asked about it on the Flagrant podcast, where he made it clear it wasn’t the first time he’d thought about his future. Though he couldn’t give fans a concrete answer on how much time he has left, he seems to have a general idea himself.

“I personally have a number. Not even Breakfast Club, but just being a talent period. Not a financial number,” Charlamagne says over two hours into the podcast episode. For fans wondering what’s next, it appears to be a shift to a more behind the scenes role. “I like being behind the scenes a lot more nowadays. Empowering other people, watching people get their shit off, watching other people become these great entities that people love and fuck with,” he elaborated. Check out the full podcast where he discussed his future with the show below.

Charlamagne Tha God Says He Had “A Number”

Charlamagne Tha God is no stranger to speaking his mind and he does so throughout his appearance on Flagrant. In another moment that fans have been breaking down online he talks about Kanye West in 2024. He thinks back on how West tried to insert himself in the middle of Kendrick Lamar, J. Cole, and Drake’s beef. He took to social media with a post aiming at all three of them. But Charlamagne claims that everyone forgot that even happened as so few people care about West’s actual music in 2024.

What do you think of Charlamagne Tha God claiming that he has “a number” that will determine when he moves on from The Breakfast Club? Are you looking forward to whatever he does behind the scenes once his time on the show ends? Let us know in the comment section below.
