Rihanna Drops Immense Bag On Super Bowl Rental Property

As the halftime performer in the 2023 Super Bowl, it makes sense why Rihanna would choose accommodations costing over $500,000. RiRi treated herself to this Arizona retreat, located in Paradise Valley. The calming ambiance of this pricey abode combined with convenient perks, making this a perfect place to stay before performing for a rowdy stadium. TMZ reports that each night at this “desert palace” costs about $85,000. Do the math, and that’s about $510,000 for a week’s stay!

Paradise Valley is located about 30 miles from the State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. This 5 bedroom and 5 bathroom home resides between mountain views and palm trees, with a whole lot of greenery protecting RiRi from any nosey paparazzi. The Barbadian singer also was able to enjoy its plentiful amenities, including a spacious pool, private gym, and outdoor grill. Downtime is extra fun at this retreat, which is decked out with a putting green, bocce court, and even a pickle ball!

RiRi’s Peaceful Retreat Before The Show

Needless to say, this accommodation served as the ultimate stress reliever prior to Rihanna’s performance. RiRi took over the Arizona Cardinal’s stadium on February 12th, and absolutely killed the set, sprinkling in an exciting surprise for fans. Dressed in a red utility jumpsuit with a sexy form-fitting latex bodysuit underneath, the 34-year-old singer slyly revealed her confirmed baby bump. She confidently went on to preform a mash-up of her hits over the course over her career, including “Wild Thoughts,” “Bitch Better Have My Money,” and “Pour It Up.” The halftime show marked RiRi’s first live performance since 2017.

What’s even more surprising about Rihanna’s contribution to the Super Bowl is that she was not paid a dime. That’s right, halftime show performers are not paid for their work, according to Forbes. Instead, they receive the eyes of millions of people, which in turn corresponds to large exposure. Apparently, this is standard for most concerts. As a top-charting artist with 9 Grammy wins, Rihanna has already accumulated herself a large fan base. But, we can only hope that her revival performance is a hint at her steps back into releasing music!

Super Bowl LVII Ratings Hit Six-Year Audience High

Super Bowl LVII was a smash hit– with the Kansas City Chiefs holding a tight victory over the Philadelphia Eagles. The game was broadcast on Fox and aired on additional digital platforms. The program averaged 113 million viewers, according to early Nielsen data. That makes this game the most-watched Super Bowl since 2017’s Patriots vs. Falcons match, which was also telecast on Fox. Additionally, the audience views skyrocketed to 118.7 million viewers at the time of Rihanna’s Super Bowl Halftime Show. This marks the most-watched halftime show since Katy Perry’s 2015 performance, complete with sharks. Rihanna’s halftime show is the second most-watched Super Bowl halftime show in history

Super Bowl LVII took place at the State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. Kickoff began just after 6:30 p.m ET/3:30 p.m. PT. The audience for the 2023 game is a relatively small rise from the 112.3 million viewers that watched 2022’s match between the Los Angeles Rams and the Cincinnati Bengals. Last year, audiences tuned in to NBC for the game, so Fox gets bragging rights for significantly beating its own viewership results from the last time airing the program in 2019. That game, Super Bowl LIV, took place in Miami and brought in 102 million viewers.

When it comes to digital statistics, Fox says that Super Bowl LVII had about 7 million streams. That makes it the most-streamed Super Bowl in history. That’s an 18% increase from last year’s super bowl, and a 103% increase from the last time Fox took the reigns in 2020. That year held 3.4 million streams. Fox Deportes aired the Spanish-language version of the Super Bowl. They set a record for the most-watched Super Bowl game in Spanish-language cable television history. 951,000 people watched, which is a 25% increase from Fox Deportes’ views from 2020. This year’s Super Bowl was also the most-watched non-soccer event to be viewed in Spanish-language cable history.

The NFL had an impressive set of ratings this season, so critics anticipated the impressive Super Bowl LVII numbers. The regular season that led up to the game held record-breaking numbers across Fox, NBC, and CBS. Last month, there were strong ratings for the NFC and ACF championship games. The telecast of the Chiefs vs. Bengals game was the most-watched NFL conference championship game in four years. Ratings were 11% higher than last year’s AFC title game, making it the most-watched TV Program on any network since Super Bowl LVI. This, of course, is no longer true. Super Bowl LVII now broke that record.

Sarah Silverman Thinks She Knows Why Rihanna Didn’t Bring Out Kanye During Her Super Bowl Performance: ‘There Wasn’t Enough Room For Her Dancers To Form A Swastika’

Whether you loved it or not, people can’t stop talking about Rihanna’s Super Bowl Halftime Show, which might go down in history as the most watched public pregnancy announcement in the history of the world. While Donald Trump wasn’t impressed by what he called an “EPIC FAIL” of a performance, RiRi somehow managed to overcome the former president’s review and dethrone Taylor Swift as Spotify’s top artist.

Amongst detractors, two of the biggest complaints seemed to be Rihanna’s decision to not turn the halftime spectacle into a who’s who of former collaborators. Yet she was also criticized for “honoringKanye West by including “All of the Lights” in her medley of hits — a song she performed with Ye, which appeared on his 2010 album, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. Which only goes to prove that you can’t please everyone — though Sarah Silverman has a pretty solid theory as to why the artist formerly known as Kanye wasn’t invited by Rihanna to participate. As the comedian explained during her first night as The Daily Show’s newest guest host:

Some people were surprised that Rihanna didn’t bring out Kanye West during “All of the Lights.” But when you think about it, it makes sense. Because there wasn’t enough space for her dancers to form a swastika.

While the comment was met with some surprise by the audience, Silverman assured viewers that “I can say that because I’m a Nazi.”

You can watch Silverman’s full review of Rihanna’s performance — and how she upped the bar for pregnant women everywhere — above.

Rihanna’s Super Bowl Halftime Show Brought In More Viewers Than The Super Bowl Itself

Rihanna’s halftime show at Super Bowl LVII between the Philadelphia Eagles and the victorious Kansas City Chiefs was already a massive draw, even with the two teams having incredibly eager fan bases. As she took the suspended stage over Arizona’s State Farm Arena, Rihanna used just minutes to announce her second pregnancy and perform her biggest hits, including “Umbrella,” “Diamonds,” and the powerful opener, “B*tch Better Have My Money.”

According to Fox Sports (via Bleacher Report), Rihanna’s halftime show drew in 118.7 million viewers, while the Super Bowl game itself only got 113 million. And, as someone who switched the channel after her performance ended, it seems I wasn’t alone.

She also reportedly had the second most-watched halftime show in the Super Bowl’s history, trailing right behind Katy Perry (remember left shark?) at 121 million in viewership numbers.

Before her performance, Rihanna sat down for a press conference and noted that she had changed her setlist over 30 times. “You’re trying to cram seventeen years of work into thirteen minutes so it’s difficult,” she said.

“Some songs we have to lose because of that, and that’s going to be okay,” Rihanna added. “We did a pretty good job at narrowing it down. There’s probably been about 39 versions of the setlist right now. We’re on our 39th. Every little change counts.”

Cardi B Ran (As Well As She Could In Heels) To Make It To Rihanna’s Super Bowl Halftime Show In A Hilarious Video

The Super Bowl is the biggest sporting event of the year in the United States. Pair that with the fact that Rihanna performed the halftime show this year, and it must have been a real challenge to actually get to the stadium for those lucky/rich enough to have tickets. It seems like that was the case for Cardi B and Offset, as the two ended up running in an effort to not miss Rihanna’s performance.

In a video shared on Cardi’s Instagram Story last night (February 12), Cardi and Offset are seen running to get into the stadium. It wasn’t a particularly fast run, though, as Cardi was wearing high heels that made speedy travel a challenge.

It appears their effort paid off, though, as it was apparently a really close call for them: In another Instagram Story video, Cardi films the start of the performance and exclaims, “We just made it on time.” She also offered some general excitement and cheering in other clips.

That wasn’t Cardi and Offset’s only Super Bowl presence this year. The pair just launched their own meal at McDonald’s and had a commercial for it during the game. The menu item is named after them and includes a cheeseburger, Quarter Pounder with cheese, barbecue sauce, large fries, an apple pie, a large Hi-C, and a large Coke.

Cardi B is a Warner Music artist. Uproxx is an independent subsidiary of Warner Music Group.

Cardi B & Offset Run To Catch Rihanna’s Super Bowl Show, Perform Together In Arizona

If anyone had a wild Super Bowl weekend, it was obviously Cardi B. The New Yorker began her trip to Arizona by performing on Friday (February 10) evening at the same venue as Drake. The Canadian markedly kept the crowd’s energy high with a recreation of the show he put on at the Apollo Theatre. For her part, Bardi opted to give her audience some of her discography’s greatest hits.

By Saturday (February 11), the excitement for the NFL Championship game was undoubtedly running rampant. More and more celebrities and football lovers continued to pour into the city. Some of them even saw the mother of two performing alongside her husband, Offset. According to Daily Mail, they put on an impressive show at Wild Horse Pass Resort and Casino’s Hall Of Fame Party.

As per usual, the “Lick” collaborators were dressed to the nines. Cardi’s curvy figure looked immaculate in a shiny metallic dress. Her long jet-black hair was beautifully flowing behind her while she performed. The Migos rapper sported a black fit for the event, also layering plenty of flashy silver chains across his chest to flaunt his wealth.

They may have been on the clock during their set, but that didn’t stop the Hustlers actress and Offset from sharing some PDA. At one point, cameras caught them sharing a sweet smooch, though that’s nothing compared to other affectionate antics. While they were talking the pre-Grammys red carpet earlier this month, Cardi and her man made out as paparazzi cameras flashed away.

She was obviously in her bag for most of Super Bowl weekend, but when game day came, the former stripper had her mind on one thing – Rihanna. In a video that’s circulating online, the 30-year-old does her best to sprint through a parking lot in a pair of bright pink heels. The reason for her panicked run? Ensuring that she didn’t miss the Bad Gal’s performance, of course.

The clip was originally uploaded to Cardi’s Instagram Story. It also sees Offset shuffling alongside her while she struggles to keep up. “Trying to make it [to] the halftime show,” she wrote over the comical upload. In the hours since Twitter users have been cracking endless jokes about the couple’s relatable behaviour.

“My God, Cardi looks tf good!!!! But this is just so hilarious… Cardi and Offset was NOT missing the Rihanna concert,” one person joked. “Damn Offset just pick her up. You slowly jogging like you wearing the shoes too,” another troll critiqued the father of five. Scroll further for more reactions, and check back later for more hip-hop news updates.

Chris Brown Seemingly Reacts To Rihanna Pregnancy Reveal

During Rihanna’s iconic Super Bowl performance, the Barbadian singer proudly showed off her new baby bump. Fans were already excited to see RiRi in the spotlight for the first time since 2018. But the big reveal was the confirmation of her second child with Rapper A$AP Rocky. The duo introduced their first son in May of 2022, and have proven their undeniable love with this new pregnancy.

Despite carrying a child, Rihanna still put on a remarkable performance during the Apple Music Halftime Show. The Grammy award winner brought red to the stage a mash-up of her most memorable hits. The show was sprinkled with fresh takes of “Bitch Better Have My Money”, “Rude Boy”, and “We Found Love.” She was accompanied by an entourage of dancers dressed in all white and finished the set floating on a platform in the middle of the arena. Needless to say, Rihanna has left the whole world chattering about her performance and pregnancy reveal, including her ex-boyfriend Chris Brown.

Chris Brown Speaks On Rihanna

Back in 2009, Brown was under fire for physically abusing Rihanna, and was charged for felony assault. After serving a 5-year probation, RiRi has claimed to forgive the “With You” singer. Brown has since been showing support for his ex, often taking to social media. Most recently, he posted to his 132 million Instagram followers a story with the caption “GO GIRL,” followed by a red heart and the praying hand emoji.

This hasn’t been the first time Brown has publicly shared a message for Rihanna. After the announcement of her first pregnancy, he also took to Instagram stories to write “CONGRATULATIONS.” The ambiguous post was made clear with the pregnant woman emoji. In Opera Winfrey’s podcast, Rihanna reflected on her in Brown’s relationship, stating “we’ve been working on our friendship again.” While some may wonder why the 33-year-old singer doesn’t address Rihanna in a more personal fashion, it sure does seem as though Brown is trying to show his support from afar. Regardless, Rihanna’s 2023 Apple Super Bowl Halftime Show will be going down in the books for her sleek and sexy performance and her exciting pregnancy reveal!

ASAP Rocky Was Rihanna’s Biggest Fan During Her Super Bowl LVII Halftime Performance

The Kansas City Chiefs topped the Philadelphia Eagles 38-35 in Super Bowl LVII on Sunday night, February 12, but for millions of people, Rihanna’s halftime performance was the one and only reason to watch.

Rihanna tore through 12 of her hits, reminding everyone just how deep her bag is. ASAP Rocky was spotted on the field, and he looked like a giddy fan hearing “Diamond” live for the first time.

At the end of her set, Rihanna appeared to hint that she’s pregnant with her and Rocky’s second child. Her representatives later confirmed her pregnancy to The Hollywood Reporter once the second half of the game was underway.

Rihanna and Rocky welcomed their son last May. During her Apple Music press conference last week, Rihanna shared with Nadeska how becoming a mother influenced her decision to take on the coveted Super Bowl halftime stage.

“When you become a mom, there’s something that just happens where you feel like you could take on the world, you can do anything,” Rihanna said. “The Super Bowl is one of the biggest stages in the world, so as scary as that was because I haven’t been on stage in seven years, there’s something exhilarating about the challenge of it all. It’s important for me to do this this year. It’s important for representation. It’s important for my son to see that.”

Rocky also shared insight into the moment with Apple Music 1’s Zane Lowe in January.

“I’m just as excited as you guys, if not more. I’m super excited. This is huge. This is incredible. I’m so glad that my lady’s back making music again and whatnot, and getting back out there,’ Rocky told Lowe, adding, “It’s just incredible, especially for both of us — it is a good year for both of us to be more active and be out there. But the Super Bowl is huge, and her being the creative she is, she going to bring it, man.”

There had been rampant speculation that Rihanna’s first performance in seven years would trigger an album or tour announcement. Instead, Rih doubled down on motherhood and living her best life with Rocky.

Rihanna Actually Hinted At Her Super Bowl Pregnancy Announcement Days Before The Halftime Show Baby Bump Reveal

During her Super Bowl Halftime Show performance last night (February 12), Rihanna came through with something you don’t see in that environment every day: a pregnancy announcement. While that news shocked the entertainment world, Rihanna actually appears to have publicly hinted at it days before the big game.

A preview clip of Rihanna’s NFL+ interview with CBS Mornings co-host and former NFL player Nate Burleson was shared on February 10. Burleson’s final question of the video was, “People want to know: Are there any surprises?” Rihanna responded, “I’m thinking about bringing someone. I’m not sure.” Burleson asked if she’d tell him about it off-camera and she laughingly shut that request down.

Burleson later addressed this moment on Twitter. Last night, a Twitter user wrote, “So when #rihanna told @nateburleson there was gonna be a surprise guest at the halftime show, I’m betting that the BABY is the surprise guest #JustSayin #SuperBowl.” He shared the tweet and added, “Bingo,” along with a bullseye emoji. In another tweet responding to a similar post, he added, “She had that preggo glow…”

The baby will be Rihanna and ASAP Rocky’s second. Once the pregnancy was revealed, people came through with memes and jokes about what it was like for the kid inside of their mother’s womb during the halftime performance.

People Had Jokes About What Rihanna’s Newly Announced Baby Was Doing During Her Super Bowl Halftime Show

Yesterday (February 12) was huge for Rihanna. Obviously, she performed the halftime show at Super Bowl LVII, hosted in Glendale, Arizona’s State Farm Stadium. Perhaps of more personal significance, though, was that Rihanna took the opportunity to announce that she’s pregnant with her and ASAP Rocky’s second baby (after hinting at it days before). While it wasn’t explicitly clear right away that Rihanna had announced a pregnancy on stage, representatives later confirmed it.

After Rihanna dropped that bit of news, halftime show viewers couldn’t help but wonder: What did it look like for baby No. 2 inside of Rihanna’s womb, as the singer moved around and put on her epic performance? Naturally, the internet came through with memes aplenty, mostly communicating one of two ideas: The baby was either dancing and enjoying itself or being uncontrollably jostled inside their mother. Here are examples of each take:

When the new baby is born, Rihanna and Rocky’s two children will be close in age, as their first child was only just born back in May 2022. The two haven’t offered many details about their first kid yet, although in December, Rihanna did share an adorable video of the baby strapped in a car seat and doing cute baby stuff.
