I think it’s really going to be special for all the fans out there who were very into Pokémon as a kid and continue to appreciate it to this day like myself.”

This new release comes just a few days after Vince revealed that he’s hitting the road with Tyler The Creator for the upcoming “Call Me If You Get Lost” tour. Peep tour dates right here if you’re trying to see him live.

Kodak Black Shares New Song “Before I Go” Featuring Rod Wave

Kodak Black has been feeding the streets with a lot of new music this Summer and thankfully he doesn’t look to be slowing down. After hitting us with songs like “Senseless” and “Grah Tah Tah” with Tory Lanez recently, The Florida rapper decides to return to the scene today and share another new record with Rod Wave called “Before I Go,” which is rumored to be off his upcoming Halloween Bill Kill project, the follow up to his Happy Birthday Kodak EP from June.

Accompanied along with a new video, Kodak slows it down and delivers a melodic, emo-song that finds him rapping about the repercussions of street life and the eventual outcome. Riding the pocket of the beat perfectly, both crooners effortlessly rap sing about not being taking away from their children and money “before they go” in what will probably be a massive hit.

The song was first teased a couple months ago when Kodak and Rod Wave were seen in the studio, leaving fans eagerly awaiting to hear the final outcome, and alas its here. Take a listen and let us know what you think.

Quotable Lyrics:

I’m in the water but I don’t know hot to swim
Got all these problems I don’t know how t deal with them
I make my mama steal as a kid
Everything my momma say I try to remember
My youngin’ 5 say he dying to live
I dont know why but they be plotting to kill me
Cant let nobody take me away from my children
Can’t let nobody take my away from these millions
Everybody gon’ die before I go

KSI Taps Lil Wayne For The Rap-Rock Single “Lose”

After releasing a couple of hard-hitting singles throughout the spring and summer, KSI finally released his highly anticipated second studio album, All Over The Place, last month. The sixteen-track project was an extremely versatile project that found the UK YouTuber skating from genre to genre, and despite its loose and varied sound, All Over The Place attracted guest appearances from high-profile Hip-Hop artists such as Lil Durk, Polo G, YUNGBLUD, Bugzy Malone, Future, and 21 Savage.

Now, a few weeks after his second studio album debuted at the top spot on the UK Albums Chart, KSI is keeping the hits coming with a new rap-rock collaboration with Lil Wayne. Fans of Weezy’s Rebirth era will be delighted to hear the legendary rapper return to his pop-runk aesthetic, and all-in-all, his chemistry with KSI makes for a solid record.

Quotable Lyrics

Baby, you fucked around, gave me the run-around
Makin’ me wonder how crazy and dumb I sound
Takin’ me up and down, baby, I’m comin’ down
I’ma need some extermination, I’m buggin’ out
Stay for another round, maybe she’ll come around
She gon’ have me turnin’ in my grave when I’m underground

YNW Melly & Lil Tjay Get In Their Feelings On “Best Friend”

Over the past several months, YNW Melly has been releasing a generous amount of music, especially for someone who is currently on trial for the murder of two men that he considered his best friends. Today, the controversial 22-year-old artist confirmed that even more music is set to come out in the coming week, as his next studio album, Just A Matter Of Slime, is set to release on Friday, August 13.

Ahead of his album’s release, YNW Melly has released “Best Friend” with Lil Tjay. The long-awaited collaboration leaked earlier in the summer, so now, fans who have been avoiding the leaks for months can finally enjoy the official version of the anticipated new Melly and Tjay track.

The brief, 2:39 track serves as a short but sweet collaboration between two of Florida and New York’s finest from this new generation of Hip-Hop artists. Built upon an insanely infectious hook by YNW Melly, “Best Friend” is a moody and sentimental song that’s both expertly crafted and incredibly catchy.

Just A Matter Of Slime is just a week away, so get ready for YNW Melly’s forthcoming album by listening to his long-awaited Lil Tjay collaboration below.

Quotable Lyrics

I will never, lie or pretend

Nas, Eminem, & EPMD Form Rap Vanguard On “EPMD 2”

Last night Nas and Hit-Boy reunited to deliver King’s Disease 2, and based on early first impressions, the project is certainly befitting of the first one’s Grammy-winning legacy. With plenty of lyricism to unpack, one of the early highlights is — perhaps unsurprisingly — “EPMD 2,” a collaboration with EPMD and Eminem.

Though Slim and Esco have indeed worked together on “The Cross,” this one marks the first time they have actually rapped on the same track. As two of rap’s most esteemed lyricists, there was plenty of hype going into this one; some wondered whether “Eminem would murder Nas on his own shit,” while others feared that Eminem’s rapid-fire flow would prove a distraction. Evidently, the doubters had nothing to fear, as everyone involved in “EPMD 2” seemed to stand in unspoken agreement.

After warming up with a brief back-and-forth verse from Erick Sermon and PMD, Nas takes to Hit-Boy’s unrelenting instrumental with a purpose. Fans will no doubt appreciate his allusions to Hip-Hop Is Dead, as Nas takes things full circle by lifting the curtain: it actually “faked its own death like Makaveli.” He segues effortlessly into Eminem, who uses the opportunity to pay homage to hip-hop’s lost ones and GOAT contenders, all while putting on a flow clinic as he’s wont to do.

Check out “EPMD 2” now, and be sure to stream King’s Disease 2 right here.

QUOTABLE LYRICS

This is the effects of my old neighborhood, Missouri/misery index
Poverty at its peak, OCD and PTSD I guess
R.I.P. out to DMX, Stezo, E and Nipsey
Ecstasy and Prince Markie Dee, MF DOOM, I hit 50 via text
Told him that I love him ’cause I don’t even know when I’ma see him next
Tomorrow could be a death

Nas & Lauryn Hill Reunite On “Nobody” Banger From “King’s Disease II”

In the summer of 1996, Nas and Lauryn Hill took us down a lyrical journey as they came together to describe what they would do if they were in charge. “If I Ruled the World (Imagine That)” is a certifiable Hip Hop classic that speaks to the ills of marginalized communities and political problems that have plagued the disenfranchised, and while that collaboration continues to be a favorite, the two artists have reunited for what should be another hit.

On Friday (August 6), Nas shared King’s Disease II, an album he produced alongside Hit-Boy, and almost immediately after it was released, Lauryn Hill began trending on social media platforms. Nas and Hill came together once again, this time on “Nobody,” a smooth banger where the Miseducation icon drops bars that have fans begging for her to release another album.

Nas and Lauryn Hill hit the mark with this one, so stream”Nobody” and share your thoughts.

Quotable Lyrics

All my time has been focused on my freedom now
Why would I join ’em when I know that I can beat ’em now?
They put their words on me, and they can eat ’em now
That’s probably why they keep on tellin’ me I’m needed now
They tried to box me out while takin’ what they want from me
I spent too many years living too uncomfortably
Making room for people who didn’t like the labor
Or wanted the spoils, greedy, selfish behavior

Benny The Butcher, Rick Hyde, & G Herbo Breeze Through “Alone”

We’re not sure that Benny The Butcher has ever missed on a track, and he’s back with another home run. Benny and his fellow Black Soprano Family cohort Rick Hyde have linked for another noteworthy track as they dropped off “Alone.” The single features a look from chart-topping Chicago artist G Herbo was has been relishing in fatherhood once again after his fiancée Taina Williams gave birth to their baby boy months ago.

Benny is one of the hardest working emcees in the industry as he delivers tracks regularly, and as we continue to wait on that phantom collaboration with Drake that he’s holding onto so tightly, we’re welcoming “Alone” with open arms. The New York rapper stays true to his reputation with hard bars and witty rhymes, so stream “Alone” and let us know what you think about this one.

Quotable Lyrics

I always got this feelin’ from the money when I dealt it
If we talkin’ smoke, I want it all like I’m selfish
Don’t know if I’ma fry or I’ma grill it like it’s shellfish
Had the stakeouts with Orlando in a lobster on Atlantic
You won’t get this opportunity like runnin’ out of chances

Lil Tecca Calls On Gunna For “Repeat It” Single

By now you’ve realized that Kanye West hasn’t released Donda yet again, but he’s not the only one with a set of disappointed fans. There were rumors that Lil Tecca was slated to deliver his We Love You Tecca 2on Friday (August 6), but it seems that he’s opted to push back the date. Instead, Tecca dropped off “Repeat It,” a collaboration with Atlanta hitmaker, Gunna.

It is clear that Tecca has been working hard at perfecting his craft as the maturation in his delivery is undeniable. Gunna once again adds his magic to the mix and the pair collide on a single that their fans will enjoy. There has yet to be an update on We Love You Tecca 2, but we’ll keep you informed as to when it can be expected. In the meantime, stream “Repeat It” and let us know your thoughts.

Quotable Lyrics

Diamonds wet, everywhere I go my diamonds cold, yeah (Yeah)
Line ’em up, we could turn ’em into dominoes, yeah (Yeah)
Ride in the Benz, drop the top, and now my head in the way, yeah (Woah)
She at it again, I’m at it again, we at it again
Real shooters, they gon’ do what it takes
Ski mask, they ain’t showin’ the face
No face-time, it might come with a case

The Weeknd Drops Off Visual To “Take My Breath”

We’re entering a new season for The Weeknd releases and the Canadian icon kicks things off with “Take My Breath.” He first previewed the track earlier this week during the Olympics, and after suffering a setback when IMAX theaters pulled the clip due to “intense strobe lighting,” the track arrives with the controversial music video.

The Weeknd’s After Hours continues to amass success long after its 2020 release and its artistic, black-eyed efforts, but he seems to have ditched his signature red jacket for a new fit. In a recent cover feature for GQ, the singer spoke about drawing that fine line between his real self and his entertainment persona.

“My fans don’t call me The Weeknd. They just call me Abel,” he said. “It’s a tricky thing, but I think the name The Weeknd holds such a legacy right now. The story of that name isn’t done yet.” Stream “Take My Breath” and share your thoughts.

Quotable Lyrics

Want me to hold onto you tight
You pull me closer, feel the heat between your thighs (Uh, say)
You’re way too young to end your life (Huh)
Girl, I don’t wanna be the one who pays the price

The LOX Made A Statement On “None Of Ya’ll Betta”

It’s always a good time to bump The LOX, but in the wake of a dominant Verzuz performance, it feels appropriate to highlight one of their many classic cuts. On Jadakiss’ solo debut Kiss Tha Game Goodbye, he brought his groupmates into the mix on album highlight “None Of Ya’ll Better,” which features what may very well be the darkest DJ Premier beat of all time.

Despite the different tone, Premier is at the top of his game on this unsettling classic, blessing Jada, Styles, and Sheek with an eerie backdrop to spit violent gangsta rap bars. Styles P sets the tone from the jump, his verse clear validation of why he’s among the most formidable spitters in hip-hop. Sheek goes next, showing no mercy as he breaks down how a ransom plays out when he’s collecting a debt.

As it’s Jada’s solo album, he’s charged with closing out the track — or at least what’s left of it. “The god, minus the 12 disciples, I pop up, all you see is shells and rifles,” he spits. “If I don’t like you, I’ma kill you not fight you / I bite a little piece of your ear off like Mike do.” Check out this classic tune now, all the way from 2001, and show some love to The LOX in the comments below.
