Stunna 4 Vegas & GetRichZay Link Up On “Chinese”

Stunna 4 Vegas hasn’t released a new body of work since 2020’s Welcome To 4 Vegas. The Billion Dollar Baby rapper has opted towards releasing new singles which have been arriving quite frequently. However, it seems like the influx of new music might be a sign that he could be closing out 2020 with a new project.

Last week, he served up “38 Freestyle” and now, he’s returned with a brand new collaboration alongside GetRichZay titled, “Chinese.” The two rappers reflect on their rise from the streets and earning dollars through illicit activity to crushing stages in designer clothing and enjoying the California breeze and palm trees.

GetRichZay has been a rising force out of North Carolina. His latest collab with Stunna is a sign of good things to come.

Majid Jordan Drops “Forget About The Party” Ahead Of “Wildest Dreams” Album Release

It’s exciting anytime anybody under the OVO Sound umbrella drops.

From the way the Drake and 40 co-founded label makes announcements regarding new music to the feeling of the music itself, there’s an energy that comes with all OVO Sound drops and, while not everybody can generate Drake-level buzz, there is certainly a ton of excitement surrounding the upcoming Majid Jordan project, Wildest Dreams

Set to release on October 22, Wildest Dreams is the Toronto duo’s third studio album, and despite already releasing a handful of singles including “Summer Rain” and “Waves of Blue,” there was still hope that we’d get one more record before Friday and today, that hope was rewarded.

Debuting their fourth Wildest Dreams single, “Forget About The Party” on Zane Lowe’s Apple Music radio show, Majid Jordan came through with an emotional, silky album cut about skipping out on the party and spending the night on the living room dancefloor.

Over a skeletal, acoustic guitar-powered instrumental, Majid Jordan promises that “anything you want, you can have it,” setting the stage for the release of Wildest Dreams in just a couple of days.

Quotable Lyrics
Swear I’ve been doing my best, but I just can’t escape it
We been here so many times, can’t count the words that I
Gone
Every look you got me hanging on
Crossing every line that’s
I’m so tired of chasing these
It’s you that I’m needing

Maxo Kream Stays Poppin’ His Collar On “Mama’s Purse”

When Maxo Kream first burst onto the scene a couple of years ago, it was clear the Houston rapper had something to prove.

Dropping “Punken” in 2018 and “Brandon Banks” in 2019, Kream showed the world his relentless work ethic and painted the perfect picture of what his come up in H-Town was really like.

Two years later, and Kream is still doing his thing, but from a more-elevated position.

Kream has climbed through the hip-hop ranks and in enlisting the likes of Tyler, the Creator, A$AP Rocky and Freddie Gibbs on his new album, WEIGHT OF THE WORLD, the “Drizzy Draco” rapper has never been shy about showing love to his contemporaries in the rap game.

And on “MAMA’S PURSE,” the 14th track on WEIGHT OF THE WORLD, Kream is not shy about showing his love for the ones who came before him.

Interpolating Three Six Mafia’s “Poppin’ My Collar” from the very first line of the song, Kream tells a story of how getting to the money has changed his own life, as well as his mother’s.

Rapping about a young Maxo stealing out of his mother’s purse to buy the latest Jordans, Kream details his efforts to re-pay her with rap money. From rocking FUBU and Mitchell and Ness to Fendi and Balenciaga, the “FRFR” rapper explains that his mother always kept him fresh when he was young, but now, even when he can afford to wear all-designer-everything, that money can’t bring his brother back and that money can’t heal the trauma.

Quotable Lyrics
Momma tried her best to keep us fresh
At fourth grade, bettin’ on FUBU, middle school rockin’ Mitchell & Ness
The way she got it, my guess was finesse, I really never knew
That she was shopliftin’, did it the best, my aunties did it too
See Macy’s ain’t like Mrs Jaclin, ’cause she was jackin’ up
Cuttin’ them sensors with scissors, switchin’ the pricetags on denims

YN Jay Puts His Spin On “Essence”

There’s no bigger hit this year than WizKid and Tems’ 2020 collaboration, “Essence.” The song entered the top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 in recent weeks, marking the first time a Nigerian single has charted that high in America. However, it’s also produced several remixes since early August. DaBaby flipped the record, as did Ghostface and Raekwon, while more artists come through with their own take on the song of the summer.

YN Jay is the latest to slide through with a freestyle over “Essence.” The upbeat afrobeats production serves as the backdrop for YN Jay’s humorous and honest bars through his conversational flow.

YN Jay recently linked up with Lil Uzi Vert for the sequel to his breakout hit, “Coochie Scout.” You can check that here

Quotable Lyrics
All I wanna do is make you smile
Why you sad baby?
I ain’t trying to be a stepdad but she had babies
Ain’t that crazy?
All your girl do is get money from your ass
She the tax lady
All mine wanna do is stack, she’s the trap lady

Young Thug Closes “Punk” With Mac Miller-Assisted “Day Before”

Over the past two years, Young Thug has been hinting at the release of Punk, his follow-up to So Much Fun. With the release of Slime Language 2 and Slime & B with Chris Brownat one point, it felt as though this album might face a similar fate to projects like MigoThuggin and Metro Thuggin. Fortunately, that wasn’t the case and the album arrived in its entirety on Friday, loaded with special guests.

While artists like Drake, J. Cole, and Future made cameos on the tracklist, Thug revealed hours before the album’s release that it would include a posthumous appearance on Punk. The two connect for “Day Before” — a song that was previously leaked along with a Trippie Redd verse. Mac Miller’s close friend and manager Quentin Cuff revealed that the song was recorded prior to Mac’s passing.

“Mac was waiting to even hear these songs in full. He was so excited for these to come out,” he wrote.

Quotable Lyrics
Everything a hundred, I don’t ever leave a fifty, yeah
Did my own half-time, if I was simple
What the fuck you think I’m rich for?
Why you think I’m always talking shit with my hand on my dick?
In the crib, these bitches turned it to a strip show
It’s what it is, though

TEC Shares His Latest Single “Part Of Me”

Over the years, T.E.C. and Maine Musik have planted their flag in the South, along with the SpiderNation imprint. The two have carved out their own lane to carry on the traditions of the artists that came before them, like the Boosie Badazz’s and Kevin Gates’.

T.E.C has continued to deliver heat with every single release this year including his most recent release, “Part Of Me.” The rapper brings his pain to the fold as he details his rise in the music industry while still facing personal problems. The song opens up with a pitched-up and filtered R&B sample before T.E.C offers smooth melodies and reflecting on trying to keep his head up in tough times.

Check out the latest from T.E.C. below.

GSO Phat & Yungeen Ace Team Up On “Mask On”

GSO Phat has been one of the most promising new voices to emerge out of Mississippi in the past few months. While there has been plenty of talent coming out of the state in recent times, Phat is from Natchez, a city just outside of Jackson. He’s been holding it down for the streets with every banger he’s unveiled. Ultimately, this led to his deal with Cash Money Records and it looks like he’s preparing to become the next star to break out on the label.

This week, GSO Phat slid through with a brand new banger titled, “Mask On” ft. Yungeen Ace. The two artists team up over smooth, blues-inspired trap production. GSO Phat comes through swinging with confidence at the top of the record before Yungeen Ace brings ferocity through his sing-rap flows.

Gucci Mane & Big Scarr Go Off The Dome On “Freestyle”

In the past five years since Gucci Mane’s release from prison, he’s released several books, even more projects, got married, had a child, and is now re-establishing the 1017 empire. Though the previous roster that he established a few years ago has seemingly dissolved, the New 1017, as he calls it, is looking to reclaim the sound of the streets.

On Friday, Gucci Mane delivered his latest body of work, The New 1017 which largely plays out like a compilation album highlighting the many talents under his umbrella. Big Scarr and Gucci Mane unite for their new collab, “Freestyle.” With production handled by Bandplay, Gucci Mane and Big Scarr tackle the flute-laden production with triumph and glory as they recount their rags-to-riches stories.

Check out the highlight off of The New 1017 below.

Quotable Lyrics
Uh, whoa, bitch, I got more Power than Ghost
Have a champagne shower, let’s toast

Be like, ‘Scarr, you know you ain’t no rapper
How you do it, though?’

WizTheMc Shares Catchy New Track, “Do It Over”

WizTheMc says that he makes “music for moms,” which honestly, is pretty true, but in the best way possible. On his new single, “Do It Over,” the 21-year-old sings about falling in love, and new beginnings. From the sounds of things, he might even be wearing some rose coloured glasses.

“I can’t ignore the way that this loving/Has turned me to a different man/So I’m waiting to begin again/I got daydreams with no end/I’ll need some patience just to start again,” the first verse ends, before launching into a catchy chorus that’s sure to be stuck in your head all day after just one listen.

Wiz’s last album, Growing Teeth dropped back in 2020. Since then, he’s been steadily releasing singles like “World Is F*cked,” “Catch Me,” “Everything,” and “Break.”

“I went from rapping to 2 Chainz type beats to arguably writing a better pop song than Justin Bieber,” he tweeted out after the release of “Do It Over.”

According to his Twitter bio, WizTheMC is “in the making of [his] new favourite song,” so it’ll be interesting to see what he’s got in store for us next.
