Shannon Sharpe Reveals He Once Tried To Change The Way He Talks

Over the years, Sharpe has been able to increase his profile, and there is no doubt that he is beloved. Although some may not love him, there are those who are huge fans. They will continue to be big fans for many years, and we cannot wait to see what else Shannon does on TV. After all, his podcast with Chad Johnson has been an overwhelming success so far.

However, as it turns out, Sharpe wasn’t always sold on his voice or his abilities. In a new interview with Complex, Sharpe reveals there was a team where he enlisted a voice coach to help him change how he talks. However, he quickly realized that he didn’t need to do all that. He understood that the audience would see through it. Moreover, he just wanted to be himself, without having to censor or think twice about what he was saying.

“I went to so many speech therapists and pathologists trying to change the way I talk. And then I just realized that’s not who I am,” Sharpe said. “The listening audience, the viewing audience is never gonna believe this is who I am. They’ve heard me speak enough to know what I sound like and how I should sound. And once I went back to being who I was, my authentic self, it seemingly took off for me from there.”

Recently, however, Shannon Sharpe was on his podcast with Chad Johnson called Nightcap, where he sexualized the rapper. He made various comments that were sexually charged. Ultimately, it felt like a case of locker room talk that should have probably been said privately, or ideally, not at all. Regardless, the clip is now going viral and there are plenty of people out there who have been quick to praise Sharpe for his humor. However, there are also a lot of people who have been left uncomfortable with his comments.

Chad Johnson revealed that he spent $225k on his fiancee’s engagement ring during the latest episode of his show with Shannon Sharpe. As Sharpe peaked his mic in disbelief, Johnson remained cool and collected. “Sh-t. When it comes to her, I don’t play. I’m opening my purse, man,” Johnson revealed. Furthermore, Johnson revealed his big plans for the wedding itself. “We got a destination wedding. I’m gonna have an open bar for you. I’m gonna have an open bar for you,” Johnson continued. Johnson is a very committed partner, and it’s something he’s shown time and time again on the show. A few weeks ago, the pair debated supporting a partner doing OnlyFans, following the news about former NBA player Joe Smith and his wife. While Sharpe was hesitant, Johnson was full-throated in his support of the concept. He acknowledged that OnlyFans can be a way to find financial stability in a world where a lot of people increasingly find a lack of it.

It’s unsurprising that Johnson would support the notion. Johnson recently released that in 1997, while attending Santa Monica College, he worked as a stripper to help pay his bills. “I used to strip at The Right Track, I used to be a dancer. During his recent appearance on Shannon Sharpe’s Club Shay Shay podcast, DJ Khaled recalled knowing Birdman and Lil Wayne before they got famous. According to him, he knew a plethora of major artists before they made it big, which explains all of his A-list connections. Some commenters are calling cap on his claims, however, arguing that Birdman and Lil Wayne had already blown up by the time DJ Khaled developed a relationship with them.

“I was there when Lil Wayne met Birdman,” DJ Khaled explained. “I used to work at a record store in New Orleans called Odyssey Records and Lil Wayne used to go to the record store and I used to DJ at the record store … Birdman and them used to pull up to the record store and out the trunk bring cassettes at that time. This was before they had their deal.“

On Monday, they had an in-depth conversation about the NFL world, and it led to a hot take about Lamar Jackson.

Overall, Jackson has been pretty good this year. However, in the last few games, there have been some missteps here and there. Consequently, Shannon Sharpe had a bit of a harsh take on Jackson this morning. Essentially, he said that he isn’t really convinced that the Ravens can win it all this year. He has some questions about Lamar, and at this stage of the season, he cannot truly trust him. Furthermore, he can’t trust the team as a whole.
