Roddy Ricch Shows Love To Gunna And Requests For His Release From Prison
Fans of Young Thug and Gunna received some unfavorable news about the rappers last week. Thug and Gunna were among 28 members of the YSL collective that were arrested and charged in the 56-count Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act case. Gunna received a single charge of conspiracy to violate a RICO Act, however, during a recent trial prosecutors said Gunna had a “command” role in YSL, which prosecutors described as a criminal organization. As a result of his alleged “command” role, and other allegations, Gunna was denied bond and his next court date was set for January 9, 2023.
Days after news of Gunna’s denied bond and new court date arrived, one of his frequent collaborators took a moment to show him love on Instagram. Roddy Ricch shared his support for Gunna with a sweet post. “Free @gunna,” Roddy wrote on his Instagram Story. “We miss you out here champ. Mom’s praying 4 U.”
Gunna’s arrest was an unfortunate turn in a year that was set to be the best of his career. He kicked things off with the release of his third album DS4EVER, a project that debuted at No. 1 on the albums chart to become his second chart-topping album.

Last week, a judge in Fulton County Superior Court denied the “pushin P” rapper bond and set his trial date for January 2023. Gunna, along with Young Thug, were named in an 88-page indictment against dozens of members of Young Slime Life. Prosecutors allege that Gunna is a “documented” member of the alleged YSL gang. They also allege that he and Thug can “direct their troops” to commit violent acts.
Gunna and Thug continue to receive an outpouring of support from their peers in the hip-hop community. Post Malone also shared some kind words for his friends.
“I love you more than life itself thug, gun,” he tweeted. “My love and my support will be here forever.”

Post Malone And Roddy Ricch Are Vibrant Ballers In The New ‘Cooped Up’ Video
With his upcoming fourth studio album Twelve Carat Toothache just weeks away, Post Malone has revealed the video for his Roddy Ricch collaboration, “Cooped Up.”
In the Andre Bato-directed video, Malone arises from a bed, ready to party, lamenting the fact that he’s been “f*cking cooped up.” He then proceeds to dance in an artsy, luxury apartment bedecked with modern furniture and works of art. Noticeably missing from the home space are walls and ceilings. Roddy Rich later emerges from a dark space (more so literally than figuratively) to deliver his verse, before a crowd of people fill the apartment, ready to party.
In an interview with Apple Music’s Zane Lowe, Malone hilariously revealed how writing “Cooped Up” came naturally to him.
“I’ve been out of my bag for a long time, and I’m trying to hop back in there, man,” said Malone. “We knew what we wanted to say, and we knew what we wanted to express, not only in a song but in that particular moment on the album…I couldn’t even tell you. I was probably on the shitter when I wrote it.”

Post Malone Performs ‘Cooped Up’ And ‘Love/Hate Letter To Alcohol’ For The First Time On ‘SNL’
In just a few weeks, Post Malone will release his long-awaited fourth album Twelve Carat Toothache, his first full-length effort since 2019’s Hollywood’s Bleeding. With the release date for Twelve Carat Toothache, which is June 3, rapidly approaching, Posty is understandably in full promotion mode for the album’s arrival. An example of that comes through his recent performance on the Selena Gomz-hosted episode of Saturday Night Live. It’s here that Posty performed “Cooped Up,” his newly-released record with Roddy Ricch, and “Love/Hate Letter To Alcohol,” a song that features Fleet Foxes’ Robin Pecknold.
Post Malone kicked off the night by performing “Cooped Up” alongside Roddy Ricch. The new song makes for the duo’s second collaboration following “Wow. (Remix)” back in 2019. Posty rocked a leather jack and leather pants to perform the song on the Studio 8H stage backed by orange and blue lighting before welcoming Roddy to join him. He returned later on the night to debut “Love/Hate Letter To Alcohol” in its entirety, a record he previously teased during an Instagram livestream. For that performance, he was surrounded by a choir dressed in black and white as Posty himself took center stage for an emotional set.

Pumped he is. On the track Post uses is vocals to express the fact that he’s been away for so long that he feels “Cooped Up,” and as he said “it’s time to resurface.”
“I’m about to pull up, hit switch, pull curtain (hit switch, pull curtain).
And I’ve been waitin’ so long, now I gotta resurface (I gotta resurface).
And yeah, we ’bout to toast up, all that bread that we burnin’ (Burnin’, burnin’, burnin’). ‘Cause I’ve been feelin’ cooped up (Yeah) I’ve been fuckin’ cooped up (Mm-mm-mm).”
