Fans Believe Megan Thee Stallion Is Taunting Nicki Minaj With Her Roc Nation Affiliation Amidst Their Ongoing Beef

The countless references to anime in her music make it abundantly clear that Megan Thee Stallion is a manga nerd (an otaku, if you will). But yesterday (February 1), the “Cobra” rapper showed off her deep Rolodex of reality television moments. While on the set of a secret project, Megan quickly caught up with her biggest Hottie fans on the internet radio broadcast app, Stationhead.

During the stream, Megan revealed that she’s finding herself in a much healthier mental space since the tumultuous obstacles she faced last year. After revealing that she’s working on a documentary about her life, she went on to say that she’s gotten reprimanded for giving away too much content online. However, users online believe that Megan subtly taunted her foe, Nicki Minaj, in the closing moments by leaning into her Roc Nation affiliation.

“Don’t make me call Porsha,” Megan joked about her management team getting reinforcements to stop her from oversharing. The reference to Bravo’s Real Housewives Of Atlanta then turned into, “Don’t make me call Roc Nation.”

After the clip hit social media, users online took the line to be shade toward Minaj based on her recent jabs at the company. On January 29, during the height of their (“Hiss” versus “Big Foot“) sparring season, Minaj slammed Roc Nation on X (formerly Twitter) for promoting Megan’s diss record toward her.

“Spending so much money,” she wrote. “But she’s the lil broke independent artist. Desiree, you gotta let it go, baby. The world knows she’s ass & can’t rap. Stop f*cking trying to make fetch happen. #BigFOOT. I just put out a song with no promo, no video, and it’s already #2. ”

Is it shade? It very well could be, and given Megan’s clever use of double entendres (that recently almost led to a potential lawsuit), you certainly can’t put it past her.

Megan Thee Stallion Laughs Off Nicki Minaj Beef: “Don’t Make Me Call Roc Nation”

Megan Thee Stallion has been the biggest topic in music over the last week or so. Overall, it is very easy to see why. Her new song “Hiss” is currently on track for a number-one debut. Furthermore, she has been entrenched in a feud with none other than Nicki Minaj. Although many say she won the fight, Nicki has continued to throw shots on Twitter and Instagram. Despite all of this, Meg has remained cool, calm, and collected as she is more confident than ever before. Clearly, her strategy of late is working.

Last night, Meg decided to celebrate her success with her fans on Stationhead. It was a Twitter Spaces type of vibe in which fans could listen in as Meg spoke with friends and other supporters. Overall, it sounded like a whole lot of fun, and Meg was having a grand old time. In fact, she couldn’t help but laugh at also mock her opponent. Nicki has been heavy on the Roc Nation conspiracies, and Meg is well-aware of that. As you can see below, it prompted Meg to say, “Don’t make me call Roc Nation.”

Nicki Minaj Reveals Her Next Target Is Roc Nation CEO Desiree Perez

Nicki Minaj has been on a tear over the last few days. Overall, it is being widely debated whether or not this tear has been a good thing. No matter the case, it is clear that she is angry. The reason for her anger stems from the track “Hiss,” in which she and Kenneth Petty are dissed by Megan Thee Stallion. In fact, it seems like Meg may have also taken shots at Tory Lanez and Drake. Either way, Nicki is upset about all of this, and she has been taking to social media to reveal her hatred for Meg.

This morning, Nicki even dropped off her diss track “Big Foot.” Unfortunately for Nicki, this new diss track is not getting the reaction she probably would have hoped for. Instead, people are clowning the diss track, saying that it has some of here worst bars yet. Furthermore, Safaree has begun trending as some think he really did ghostwrite for her. Regardless, Nicki does not care. She is making it clear that she has more gas in the tank, and is not afraid to piss more people off. In fact, in the tweet below, she revealed who her next target will be.

Nicki Minaj Picks Her Next Move

Desiree Perez is the CEO of Roc Nation, and she is someone who has been name-checked by Nicki in the past. There is clearly some tension there, and Minaj may just fire off a diss track about her, very soon. “On the next song I delve into all the ppl Desiree allegedly fired for unknown reasons…other things as well,” Nicki said. “So many ppl were blind sighted & hurt by her. Allegedly. She’s willing to go broke to try to replace me…? Fix it JESUS.” For now, a release date for this Perez diss is unknown.

Whether or not Nicki releases this track, remains to be seen. However, she seems dead set on going after every single person who has ever wronged her. If nothing else, Nicki is showing us she still has a lot of fire. Tell us your thoughts on Nicki and her recent actions, in the comments section below. Is Jay-Z Dropping A New Album In 2024?

The Carters are one of music’s most secretive families.

It is often joked that they must have an iron-clad non-disclosure agreement because when Beyoncé or Jay-Z are working on a new professional endeavor, it is kept under tight seal. Or at least it used to be. Over the past few days, behind-the-scene footage of Beyoncé’s seemingly scrapped visuals for her Grammy Award-winning album, Renaissance, has surfaced online. Jay-Z appears to be battling the same issue in his camp.

Is Jay-Z Dropping A New Album In 2024?

According to a viral rumor initiated by AWGE-affiliated Hidji, the “God Did” rapper has a new album in the works and visuals to support it. On January 28, the director took to his Instagram Stories to share two posts confirming that he had been tapped to bring part of Jay-Z’s vision to light. The only problem is Roc Nation quickly took to its official X (formerly Twitter) page to shut down the rumor.

As Hidji uploaded a picture of a clapboard labeled “Jay-Z – 2024 Album,” fans began to build up excitement for the forthcoming visual. Roc Nation replied to the images shared on the NFR Podcast’s page that even they were unaware their founder was working on a new body of work. “That’s news to us,” wrote the company.

So, is Jay-Z releasing a new album or not? It surely feels like it. Back in November, during an interview with Gayle King, when discussing his The Book Of HOV exhibit, he implied that he wasn’t quite ready to walk away from music just yet. Jay-Z’s last album, 4:44, was released in 2017. This would be a great time to drop something fresh.

Roc Nation Denies The Viral Rumor That Jay-Z Has Plans To Release A New Album Soon

There is a bevy of artists on Uproxx’s most anticipated album releases set for 2024 list. However, Jay-Z isn’t on the list. The reasoning is that the “I Want You Forever” rapper hasn’t expressed any inkling that he’s looked in on a new solo studio project. From his 2023 public playlist to The Book Of Clarence soundtrack, these days, it seems like his focus has been on curating works for other projects.

Well, according to AWGE-affiliate Hidji, Jay-Z is ready to drop something new very soon. In a series of uploads to his Instagram Stories, the director suggested that Jay-Z has begun to film visuals to support the rumored project. However, Roc Nation swiftly jumped in to shut down the reports.

“That’s news to us,” wrote the company on its official X (formerly Twitter) page.

With the rumor quickly quashed, Roc Nation’s follow-up post drew attention to the management signee Megan Thee Stallion’s latest single, “Hiss.”

“‘Hiss’ by Megan Thee Stallion is the #1 music video on iTunes,” wrote the page. “Download the song now.”

So, what is the public to take from this flub? Either Jay-Z’s creative NDA isn’t as potent as it used to be. Or the visual in question isn’t for an album but a one-off music project. But with fans still waiting for Beyoncé’s Renaissance visuals, Hidji might’ve just forced another member of the Carter family to scrap their music videos.

Jay-Z Album In 2024 Isn’t Coming, Roc Nation Suggests In Clarifying Tweet

Unfortunately, it looks like the rumors sparked by director Hidji World that Jay-Z is coming out with a new album in 2024 were just that: rumors. Moreover, the Roc Nation Twitter account recently responded to coverage of these teases with the disappointing phrase “That’s news to us.” Of course, this could just be some cheeky misdirection, but it’s most likely a legitimate effort to quell any announcements or excitement. However, even getting this direct response to this is quite telling, because there are always rumors about when he’s going to drop something. As such, this door isn’t fully closed yet, although it’s getting hard to see the light in between the crack.

Furthermore, this is what Hov himself had to say to Gayle King about the idea of coming out with a new album. “I already [used the word ‘retirement’], I can’t do that ever again,” Jay-Z remarked. “I’ll say I wanna make music, but it has to be something important. I don’t wanna just make a bunch of tunes. That’s not gonna serve me. It won’t feed me, first of all. I have to be saying something important. It has to mean something, you know? It has to mean something to a larger society.”

Roc Nation Debunks Jay-Z Album Rumors

Not only that, but this is far from the only rumor of a new Jay-Z album to sprout in recent months. Again, it appears to be the only one that Roc Nation directly responded to, so take that as you wish. Regardless, another speculative streak began when a special case went up for auction from his “The Book Of HOV” exhibit at the Brooklyn Public Library. In this case, there are thirteen slots for each of the 54-year-old’s album, and a fourteenth one which is empty.

Was this just a design decision or legitimate confirmation that the New York MC has one more in the tank? Perhaps we’ll never know, and we’d bet that we certainly won’t know in the near future. But within every hip-hop fan is a dream that their favorite rapper will pick the mic up again somehow, and that’s important to believe in, no matter how delusional. What do you think will happen? Let us know in the comments down below and stay posted on HNHH for the latest news on Jay-Z.

Meek Mill & Roc Nation Face Lawsuit Over Alleged Failed Payments To Production Company

Meek Mill and Roc Nation are facing a lawsuit from the production company, Good Company Pictures. They allegedly failed to honor “clearly stated payment obligations” for its services. The lawsuit claims the company followed through on providing production services for a Meek Mill concert at Madison Square Garden. However, they were never properly compensated. “Although Good Company provided the requested services, and despite Meek Mill and Roc Nation’s promises to pay Good Company, Good Company has not received any payment to date,” the lawsuit reads.

Specifically, Good Company Pictures says it expected $200,000 in exchange for its pre and post-production work. “On October 26, 2021, Roc Nation, acting on its own behalf and on behalf of its then-client Meek Mill, advised Good Company that there was a $200,000 budget for the Production (excluding post-MSG Performance expenses such as interviews, clearances, licensing, or post production),” the docs obtained by AllHipHop explain. “Roc Nation advised Good Company to invoice $100,000 to Roc Nation and represented that it had secured a commitment for the remaining $100,000 to be paid by Meek Mill.”

Unfortunately for Good Company, Meek ended up wanting to own the footage and approvals for the production. In turn, the company contacted him to cover the spent money and says he “promised payment was forthcoming.” The lawsuit continues: “On January 29, 2022, Good Company informed Roc Nation that it would like to be paid in full for the $166,137.86 it spent to date in connection with the Production before proceeding with its remaining work. On March 14, 2022, having not heard from Roc Nation, Good Company sent another request for payment. On May 26, 2022, still awaiting payment and a response, Good Company sent an invoice for $166,137.86 to Roc Nation. The invoice reflected work performed by Good Company covering the ‘First Phase of MSG production expenses only [and which] [d]oes not include any licensing, clearances, or post production of any kind.’”

Good Company hopes to earn $166,137.86 as a result of the lawsuit. Be on the lookout for further updates on the case on HotNewHipHop.
