Taking to the social media site, she described herself as “grown” and shot down accusations about wanting attention. “I’m grown asf btw … I can show my ass if I want to,” Carter began. “I love the ‘she want attention’ comments … cause baby I am the attention that you’re paying so much to see stink.”

However, there are still quite a lot of big names backing the kid from Compton, especially the man who was responsible for selecting him.

“Kendrick Lamar is truly a once-in-a-generation artist and performer,” Jay-Z said. “His deep love for hip-hop and culture informs his artistic vision. Overall, Hov makes a lot of great points, and with the year that he’s having and the potential for a new album coming soon, it was a pretty safe and reasonable pick. Apparently, Cartner’s boyfriend was home at the time of the robbery. And while he found the time to make a YouTube video about it, he apparently didn’t actually check to make sure Carter was okay.

Johnson quickly became pregnant and gave birth to their daughter, Reginae, in November 1998. The couple formally married in 2004 but the marriage only lasted two years. However, the pair remained friends after their separation. Johnson was later married to Memphitz Wright between 2011 and 2016 before marrying Robert Rushing in 2022. Reginae, who took her father’s given surname, is a rapper and actress in her own right. She has 7 million followers on Instagram.

Johnson (now Johnson-Rushing) saw some brief reality show fame with Tiny & Toya (2009-10) and Toya: A Family Affair (2011).
