Flavor Flav Denies Involvement In “Flavor Of Love” Reboot: “That Is A Complete Lie”

Flavor Flav says he isn’t working on the reboot of the reality series, Flavor of Love, despite Julie Pizzi, the President of Bunim/Murray Productions and 51 Minds Entertainment telling Deadline as much. The Public Enemy rapper clarified the situation in a statement on Instagram, on Tuesday.

Pizzi had told the outlet: “We’re in the process of working with Flavor Flav to reimagine what Flavor of Love can feel like in this in this decade, which is very different. The project is really fun, a comedy in the dating space. Flav will not, however, be doing the dating this time around but will be part of the process.”

As for his response, Flav wrote: “An article was published this morning in Deadline about me that is a complete lie. I am NOT involved with a Flavor of Love reboot and have no interest. I am partnered with a new production company and together we are developing concepts that highlight where I am now as a person,,, vs where I was. You can’t get to the next chapter by staying on the same page. This clock round my neck is moving forward, not backwards.” Fans expressed their support for Flav in the comments section. Flavor of Love originally aired on VH1 from 2006 through 2008. It featured a number of women all competing for Flav’s affection while at a mansion in California. It was influential in helping spin off a string of similar reality series on VH1 at the time. Be on the lookout for further updates on Flavor Flav on HotNewHipHop.

Chris Tucker Open To “Friday” Reboot But Unsure It Will Ever Happen

Chris Tucker has revealed his openness to reuniting with Ice Cube to make another Friday film. However, the actor is unsure that it will ever happen as the future of the project lies with the studios. “It’s studios, and if they got they got to want to do it, and then it’s uh producers and all that stuff, so that that’s it’s a lot, it’s a lot that goes with it. I don’t know, it has to come back right because, like I said, at this point, you know, I’m only doing stuff that I know that I could do my best and I can have a lot of fun, got to be right,” Tucker told V-103 Atlanta.

Previously, Ice Cube has spoken at length about the obstacles standing in the way of another Friday film. “I’m trying to get it out of Warner Bros., they don’t believe in the culture man. I had two scripts. I wrote one; it was the shit. They was like, ‘Yo, we don’t want Craig and Day-Day in jail, ’cause Craig and Day-Day went to jail for selling weed before it was legal! Then after they rejected it they had all these fucking movies about going to jail: Orange Is The New BlackGet Hard. So then I wrote another script, and the script was really about … the youngsters in the hood having beef with the OG’s in the hood and Craig has to come back and squash that because Smokey’s son is the new Deebo and he’s wylin!” Cube said in an interview.

Karlissa Saffold Claims Katt Williams Wanted Her To Star In “Next Friday”

However, Cube and Tucker aren’t the only ones talking about the beloved Friday franchise. In early January, Karlissa Saffold claimed that Katt Williams “shouted her out” in his Club Shay Shay interview and that he wanted her to play the role of D’Wana in Next Friday. Saffold said that she turned down the role because of the outfit they wanted her to wear. The role was eventually played by Tamala Jones. Saffold’s comments appear to stem from fans telling her that she should have played D’Wana.

However, people immediately called cap on Saffold’s claims. “Man cap I didn’t hear him say blueface momma or the name Karlissa,” one person argued. “Katt never said that I watched the whole 3 hour interview twice 😂,” agreed another. “LIES…KATT NEVER SAID THAT YOU HAD A POSSIBLE ROLE IN FRIDAY 😫,” a third added. Williams did not appear to reference Saffold in his wide-ranging interview. While Williams may have privately told Saffold about Next Friday, he did not appear to say anything to that regard on camera.

“White Men Can’t Jump” Trailer Stars Jack Harlow As Basketball Player Billy Hoyle

Less than a year ago, the news broke that Jack Harlow was cast as the leading man in the forthcoming White Men Can’t Jump reboot. Previously it was Woody Harrelson who brought the beloved character Billy Hoyle to life, but he’s made it clear that he co-signs the rapper as his replacement. Today (February 5), the movie’s first trailer arrived, giving audiences their first look at his big acting debut.

The “WHAT’S POPPIN” stars opposite Sinqua Walls in the reboot. As the preview begins, Skee-lo’s “I Wish” blasts while we’re introduced to the two stars in character. “I probably should have asked this earlier, but how much cash do you have on you?” the Kentucky native asks his friend as they stand in front of a basketball net.

“Did you not bring enough money to cover this game?” Walls’ character responds back, the concern in his eyes evident. “I brought like $80… Minus $60,” Harlow sheepishly admits while two menacing-looking men watch from the side. Elsewhere in the 30-second clip, we see some of the recording artist’s baller skills, which he worked hard to improve upon – specifically at Kawhi Leonard’s request.

So far, Twitter users seem to be mostly optimistic about White Men Can’t Jump. While some obviously still have their doubts, others are eager to see if the 24-year-old could potentially appear in other future projects. “I’m intrigued because I like Jack Harlow,” one person wrote this afternoon. “Script will depict his performance.”

“Sorry, I don’t see the same personality and charisma that Snipes and Harrelson had,” another user argued. “I’ll pass. Hope I’m wrong.” Someone else, still, brought a close friend of the rapper’s into the conversation. “Jack Harlow makes better skits with Druski than that WMCJ trailer,” they quipped.

Apart from the new trailer, things have been relatively quiet on Harlow’s front as of late. In mid-December, sources said that he and Dua Lipa have struck up a romantic relationship after he named a song after her on his sophomore album last year. At the time, the English songstress didn’t seem to reciprocate his interest, but that all may have changed.

Unfortunately, we haven’t heard any updates on their status as a couple lately. As the White Men Can’t Jump premiere nears closer, though, it’s possible we may see them take over the red carpet together.
