B.G. will soon be a free man. The Jasmine Brand reports the Cash Money star and member of the Hot Boys will be released from prison this week.
Sources state that B.G. will be released for his probationary period. In July 2012, B.G. was sentenced to 14 years for possessing a firearm and one count of conspiracy to obstruct justice. In addition, he was given three years of federal supervised release. Plans for his post-prison life are pending.
Last year, a false video of B.G. was shared online and Gucci Mane thought the rapper was already free. Big Guwop was ready to offer a $1 million deal to join 1017 Records.
“My 1017 family help me welcome home the living legend @BGHollyHood!” Gucci wrote in the now-deleted tweet. “Glad u home bruh! Got so much love and respect for u as a man an artist! Get at me, I got a milli for u! WAnna sign u to 1017!!!!”
At that time, B.G.’s release date was slated for April 7, 2024, from the FCI Herlong Detention Center in California.
Charlamagne Tha God has expressed his disagreement with Bobby Shmurda’s criticism of rap music. He says that Shmurda should not undermine the genre because he owes his fame and recognition to it. Charlamagne discussed the topic on The Breakfast Club‘s segment, “The Rumor Report,.” He went on to kindly acknowledge Shmurda’s energy and personality. However, he pointed out that the public hasn’t been receptive to his new music since his release from prison.
Charlamagne also emphasized that the culture may not be so keen on the new attitude. While he realizes that Bobby Shmurda has avoided being a snitch and is now creating positive music, the culture doesn’t seem to appreciate or acknowledge that about him. Furthermore, he believes that rap is the reason why people know Shmurda. He highlighted that, because of this, Shmurda’s criticisms of the genre may not resonate well with the audience.
The Origin Of Bobby Shmurda’s Opinion On Rap
The conversation about Bobby Shmurda’s disdain for rap music began when he appeared on The Danza Project podcast. There, he advised children to stay away from hip-hop because he sees it as dangerous. Shmurda expressed concern that kids might take the lifestyles portrayed in rap lyrics as reality. However, he says the rappers themselves may not have even experienced those circumstances. He believes rap music should uplift people and encourage positive change. Now, however, he believes it promotes negativity. As a result of this, Bobby Shmurda shared that he no longer enjoys rap music. Apparently, he only listens to it when he’s at the club.
Shmurda went on to say that he prefers reggae now. He is so disconnected from the rap scene that he wouldn’t even notice if another rapper dissed him in a song. This isn’t the first time Bobby Shmurda has discussed his decision to distance himself from rap music and make a change. In March, he took to Instagram to share his journey towards self-improvement after being involved in criminal activities. He made it clear that he is determined to pursue a productive and successful future. He says he wants to make the best use of his time.
Lil Double 0 is back home and the FBG boss Future ensured that he was welcomed back properly. A video surfaced this week of Future handing over goodies to the young rapper after his release from jail. Double 0 came home to a stack of cash and new jewelry, including an iced-out watch and Freebandz chain. “That shit go with it. Turn my dog up. Just got out the slammer turn my dog up, man,” Future said with a grin on his face. Double 0 replied, “Turn that shit up a whole another notch. They know that.”
Lil Double 0 has been a rising force on the Freebandz roster but his legal issues have undoubtedly stagnated his journey. Last December, police arrested the “Good On Love” rapper on drug and gun charges. However, in February, he turned himself into authorities before his release earlier this week. Meanwhile, Akademiks alleged that Lil Double 0 was potentially facing a 15-year prison sentence as paperwork revealed that he was charged with trafficking oxycodone, possessing MDMA, driving without a valid license, and unlawfully carrying a concealed weapon.
Future Gears Up To Release New Music
Besides ensuring that his artists are taken care of, Future appears to be plotting on the release of new music. Last year, we received his latest full-length album,I Never Liked You, which served as one of the highest-selling projects of 2022. Along with the success of “Wait For You” ft. Drake and Tems, Future continued to claim his reign at the top of the charts. However, there has been further anticipation surrounding his next effort.
Metro Boomin and Future have been hinting at the release of a collaborative project in the near future. On several occasions since the top of 2023, the two have hinted at releasing a joint project together. Metro even said that it would see the light of day in 2023. Although no release date has been set, Metro has been cooking up the soundtrack for Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse which he confirmed will include a new collaboration with Future. We’ll keep you posted on any more updates on the project. Check out Future’s welcome home gift to Lil Double 0 above.
Max B provided his latest update on his prison sentence, earlier this week, telling his fans that it’s “almost over.” The veteran rapper was sentenced to 75 years in prison back in 2009 but took a 20-year plea bargain for aggravated manslaughter in 2016.
“Y’all know what it is. Shout out to the boy. The birthday boy just checking in. You already know. Man, I’m feeling good,” he said. “It’s almost over. Two more joints, n***a, I’m sliding out. Max Bigavell. 45, I feel good, look good. I taste good, I smell good, n***a.” Fans on social media were excited about Max’s impending release. “I hope this mean 2 more months he was suppose to get out in April wtf smh,” one user wrote on Instagram.
Fans originally believed they could expect Max B to become a free man again by April. French Montana had said as much during the promotion of his song, “Lemonade.” “MY BROTHER WAS FACING 75 YEARS .. HE TOLD ME TO TELL YALL HE‘LL BE HOME IN APRIL!!” French wrote on social media earlier this year. “SILVER SURFER Live from the can [wave emoji] Free the Count [100 emoji] ‘LEMONADE’ VIDEO .. Coke Boys 6 OUT NOW ON ALL PLATFORMS.”
When he gets out, Max B has said that he plans to get back to making music right away. In a recent update, he called on producers to begin sending him beats in preparation. “I’m calling you n****s out,” he said at the time. “I’m calling out all ya’ll producers, I’m bout to get ready to hit the scene in a minute. Gimme some tracks. Get them shits to my man Black so we can wave up. Imma have that shit already lined up. We wave up, we go to the studio, we make history. I need waves. Get me loopy. I want that new sound. Out, fuck with ya boy Max Biggavel EMG boss n***a. Wavy.” He instructed interested artists to email him at [email protected] for more information.
Mozzy has reportedly been released from prison after spending 10 months behind bars for a federal gun charge. He was previously projected to get out on July 23, 2023. Mozzy initially turned himself over to authorities at the United States Penitentiary Atwater in July of last year.
The arrested stems from a traffic stop a few months prior, during which officers did a search of the car after smelling marijuana. They found a Glock 26, 16 rounds of 9mm ammunition and a “personal use” amount of marijuana. He was booked but released after posting $35,000 bail. While Mozzy is yet to confirm his release from prison, court documents obtained by HipHopDX show that he is a free man as of Thursday, May 4. He did have to pay a $55,000 fine, however.
A week prior to his arrest, Mozzy dropped his seventh studio album Survivor’s Guilt. The project was his first under Yo Gotti’s CMG imprint. It featured appearances from Roddy Ricch, Shordie Shordie, EST Gee, Blac Youngsta, and Moneybagg Yo. More recently, Mozzy dropped an EP titled, Kollect Kalls, last month. That effort features collaborations with YFN Lucci, Celly Ru, E MOZZY, and Baby Money. Additionally, he recently appeared on DJ Drama’s I’m Really Like That for the song, “Been A While.”
Mozzy first inked a deal with CMG back in February. Discussing the deal during the label’s 2022 Press Conference in Los Angeles, he described the moment as “long overdue.” “Overdue, overdue, out the gate,” he said at the time. “Big dawg been tappin’ in with me. I’m talkin’ about even before a n***a career even popped … We had conversations, he told me there was a seat at the table. I had to get my life right, tie up a couple of loose ends. I tied them motherfuckas up, we here now.
Birdman just provided an update on when Hot Boys member B.G. will see his prison release. Moreover, this is the latest in a long string of legal struggles behind bars for the rapper. Not only have his requests faced denials multiple times, but pressure from other rappers and pop culture figures doesn’t seem to make a dent. Still, at least there are people like the Cash Money boss in his corner to keep fans posted on his status. Most recently, the Atlanta kingpin took to Instafgram to share a picture of B.G. and an update.
“Be home in a minute,” Birdman wrote in his caption, corresponding to a simple picture of the rapper. “Heart of tha streets @new_bghollyhood #CCRG #Cashmoneymillionaire @cashmoneyofficial.” For those unaware, B.G. currently serves a 14-year prison sentence set for its end in April of 2024. Of course, this also isn’t the first time that Birdman in particular hinted at his freedom. Last year, a video went around on social media showing Bird paying a visit to him at the Federal Correctional Institution in Herlong, California.
Birdman Gives Update On B.G.’s Prison Release
Unfortunately, all of the rapper’s petitions for early release were denied by court and law enforcement authorities. While Birdman and other colleagues continued to claim and hint at his prompt exit, it seems nothing could shift the court. At the tail end of September last year, a U.S. District Judge rejected a motion to commute his sentence. Curiously, said request didn’t come from B.G., but rather another federal prisoner. However, further investigation and deliberation revealed that the letter was just meant to advocate for B.G. after his dissatisfaction with how his attorney handled a previous motion for compassionate release.
Still, many in the hip-hop community, especially those close to Cash Money, haven’t forgotten about B.G. For example, Gucci Mane said late last year that he’s giving $1 million to the incarcerated rapper once he gets out of jail. Even though these court struggles and failed requests are disheartening, hopefully he receives a warm welcome upon his release. Regardless, come back to HNHH for the latest updates on B.G. and Birdman.
Authorities released Chicago rapper Lil Reese from prison according to HipHopDX, where he was held on assault charges. According to online records obtained from the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, he was released on Thursday (January 12). Moreover, after a pretrial hearing, the court dropped at least one of the charges against him.
Furthermore, Reese faced a misdemeanor charge of aggravated assault against a family member last May. While original reports just mentioned that charge, prison records show two felonies and an additional misdemeanor. However, the documents don’t specify the nature of these additional charges.
Also, a case against the 30-year-old seems to have finalized with a “GPE sentence.” This suggests that authorities ordered him to make a payment through Government Payment EXP, a private company that collects fines and court fees through various mediums. Still, whether they are linked to his arrest or part of his terms of release is unknown at the moment.
While many are already celebrating, the 300 S**t MC hasn’t posted anything on his socials as of writing this article. Last we heard from him, he welcomed his baby daughter in May just days before his arrest. However, funnily enough, his daughter was (technically) one of the most recent people to update fans.
Last week on January 6th, Reese’s girlfriend Kimani posted screenshots to their daughter’s Instagram page. They featured the rapper talking with his daughter on FaceTime. It’s actually been somewhat of a big 12 months for Reese, considering the ten year anniversary of his Chief Keef collab “Don’t Like.”
Meanwhile, some of Lil Reese’s last exploits were calling out Lil Durk doppelgänger Perkio for meeting up with 6ix9ine. Before this recent arrest, authorities held Lil Reese on domestic violence charges in Chicago in 2021. While police arrested him immediately, he returned after posting $10,000 bond.
What do you think of Lil Reese’s release from prison? Whatever the case, let us know in the comments down below. Also, as always, check back in with HNHH for the latest updates from Lil Reese.
The Wolf Of Grape Street rapper was granted parole following a hearing in June 2022. In the months that followed, he completed a program that finally enabled his freedom.
A judge sentenced Greedo to 20 years in prison on guns and drugs charges in 2018. A jury found him guilty of possessing 400 grams of and unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon.
At the time, he was also at the height of his career and a leading force of Los Angeles’s rap scene. He released The Wolf Of Grapestreet shortly afterward, boasting appearances from OMB Peezy, PNB Rock, and Ralfy The Plug.
03 Greedo dropped his latest project, Free 03just days before his release. The new project marked his first release since 2020’s Load It Up with production handled entirely by Mike Free. Free 03 also included appearances from BlueBucksClan, OhGeesy, KenTheMan, and the late Drakeo The Ruler.
Throughout his incarceration, Greedo’s delivered an influx of music such as Netflixand Deal with Kenny Beats, Still Summer In The Projects with Mustard, and a string of singles in between. However, in an interview with Complex in 2019, 03 Greedo said that he’d take more time with his music after he was released from prison.
“When I come out, I’m gonna be talking about more glamorous things,” he said. “When I get out, I’m gonna write more and take more time. The release process won’t be the same; I won’t flood the industry. It’ll be more precise.”
We’ll keep you posted on anymore updates surrounding Greedo.
Without warning, 03 Greedo just blessed fans with a brand new mixtape this week, titled, Free 03.
The Wolf Of Grape Street rapper’s latest body of work marks his first since 2020’s Load It Up, Vol 1. Free 03 boasts 15 songs in total, produced entirely by Mike Free. The latest from Greedo finds him working alongside the late Drakeo The Ruler, BlueBucksClan, OhGeesy, and KenTheMan.
Though it’s been three years since his last body of work, Greedo’s remained prolific in his output throughout his incarceration. In 2022, he also blessed fans with singles like “Drop Down” ft. KenTheMan and “Pourin’” ft. BlueBucksClan — both appear on Free 03.
Though the California rapper remains incarcerated on drug charges, it seems like things might actually be looking up in his case. The Texas Department of Criminal Justice revealed that 03 will be released on parole this week. Meanwhile, journalist Jeff Weiss, who has closely followed Greedo’s case, confirmed the news on Twitter.
“Out of respect for Greedo’s right to break the news however he wants to break it, I can’t officially confirm anything,” he wrote. “But this Texas parole info is accurate. 03 should be coming home at some point this week. A 5-year nightmare finally coming to an end.”
Following a spur of releases, a judge sentenced Greedo to 20 years in prison in 2018 after striking a deal for guns and drugs charges in Texas. At this time, Greedo was at the height of his career with collaborations alongside Lil Uzi Vert, and more.

Brittney Griner is finally a free woman. After serving 294 days in a Russian prison, she’s on her way back home to the United States.
Previously, the WNBA star made headlines due to her nine-year prison sentence for drug possession in the foreign country. She was arrested on February 17 for attempting to bring cannabis with her on a trip.
The sentence was not far off from the maximum that she was facing. Prosecutors had asked for a 9.5 year sentence in the trial.
Four months later, the 32-year-old is on her way back home after a prison swap got official approval.
President Joe Biden consequently made the announcement yesterday (December 8) via Twitter. In the photos, POTUS and Vice President Kamala Harris are seen talking with the athlete’s wife, Cherelle Griner, in the White House.
In a video of newly-released Griner en route back home on the plane, the Phoenix Mercury star looks undoubtedly thrilled. When asked about her mood, she simply responds “I’m happy” with a smile.
Rumours surrounding a possible prison swap in order to get Griner home previously began going around for a few months now.
The exchange between the U.S. and Russia was a one-for-one swap. Surprisingly, international arms dealer Viktor Bout was freed by the U.S. in order to bring Griner home.
In Russian footage, the world was witness to the trade taking place on the tarmac of a United Arab Emirates airport.
The Russian arms dealer has a gruesome nickname – “Merchant of Death.” Of course, this has sparked some debate about the fairness of the exchange.
Others have chimed in, suggesting that another detained American should have been freed instead of the WNBA player. Paul Whelan is a former U.S. marine, who was detained by Russian authorities in 2018.
Two years, later he was sentenced to 16 years in prison for his alleged involvement in an intelligence operation. However, he is still presently serving this time.
Nonetheless, the U.S. is standing by the swap. Officials are indicating that the country didn’t have a choice of which American to bring home.
Let us know your thoughts on the trade down below. Additionally, make sure to stay tuned to HNHH for the latest updates on Griner’s return home.
