Ja Morant Reveals Who He Listens To Before Games

The press conferences held during NBA All-Star weekend led to LeBron James, Jayson Tatum, Ja Morant and more being asked some intriguing questions. First, LeBron James was asked about being able to play with his old Cavaliers teammate Kyrie Irving in the All-Star game. “It’s always good to see him. I’m very proud of him. Very proud of the man that he has become in his life right now,” Bron said gracefully. However, if you remember correctly, LeBron appeared to be hugely disappointed recently that his Lakers did not acquire Irving when he was on the trade block, instead letting the Dallas Mavericks snag him. Additionally, Jaylen Brown was in a more sour mood when speaking on how the All-Star game is no longer competitive. “It was just a glorified layup line,” Brown called the game.

In contrast, though, both Pau Gasol and Brown’s Boston teammate Jayson Tatum found ways to honor the late Kobe Bryant. After coaching up his Rising Stars team to a win on Friday (Feb. 17), Paul Gasol talked about his consideration for the Basketball Hall of Fame. He gave all the credit to Kobe. “My name, my number don’t go into those rafters without those championships,” he said. “And we don’t win those championships without Kobe Bryant.” Similarly, Tatum honored Bryant after winning the Kobe Bryant All-Star Game MVP. “Everybody knows how much [Kobe] meant to me,” he said. “My favorite player, my idol. So it’s an honor to take this home.” With all these heavy quotes, though, other players like Ja Morant mostly were only asked softball questions.

Ja Morant’s Tunes

When asked by a reporter what his three favorite artists to listen to before games are, Morant gave an exciting reply. “(NBA) Youngboy, (Lil) Baby, Moneybagg (Yo). And a little bit of that (Pooh) Shiesty brrrrr brrr brrrr.” Mimicking Pooh Shiesty’s famed ad-libs, it’s clear that Morant had to throw in that fourth option in his response. Morant was raised in South Carolina and now lives in Memphis, TN. So, it’s no surprise that every artist he named is from the South. Pooh Shiesty and Moneybagg Yo are both from Memphis, and Youngboy and Baby are from Louisiana and Georgia respectively. It’s easy to see where Ja’s heart lies.

Aside from light-hearted conversations with NBA reporters, Morant has had an otherwise bizarre and eventful start to 2023. January saw a bit of turbulence with him being hit with a lawsuit for fighting a minor in a pickup basketball game. Additionally, his father Tee Morant, and FOX Sports commentator Shannon Sharpe got into a scuffle at a Grizzles-Lakers basketball game. Then in February, Ja was implicated in a situation where his friends were accused of stalking and intimidating employees for the Indiana Pacers. However, this year has still seen him get a new Nike shoe deal and become an NBA All-Star for the second time. So, it seems that Ja is taking the good with the bad.

Pooh Shiesty Posts From Jail, Boasts About Status, Money: “Jay-Z Can’t Even Relate”

He was an artist climbing the Rap ranks when Pooh Shiesty was indicted in 2021. It stemmed from a shooting in October 2020, but in June 2021, Shiesty was arrested for a separate incident. The rapper faced several charges, but in the end, he pleaded guilty to conspiracy to possess a firearm in furtherance of violent and drug-trafficking crimes. Pooh was sentenced to five years behind bars, and he’s remained relatively quiet—that is, until now.

On Tuesday evening (February 21), Shiesty emerged on Instagram with a lengthy post. Unsurprisingly, the message was also quickly shared, and it looked as if the rapper was talking that talk from behind bars. He seemed more concerned with his street cred and Google’s listing of his net worth. “King Shiesty tappin in from the middle of the pennititary aka Hell where they say i cant go , jailing no telling !!” he began. “I still remain Untouched , Millions still in double digits ! tell google fix my networth we can verify that sh*t right now.”

Pooh Shiesty Boasts About His Status

He continued: “Yeah im locked up not f*cked up. i was 21 up 8 figures jayZ cant even relate my money tripple my followers.” Additionally, it seemed that Shiesty was upset with how certain people were speaking about him. “Stop playing with my name before i buy one of you for sale ass n*ggas you n*ggas ANYTHING! I put on for this Choppa Gang sh*t everyday. Twice on Sundays im on the same sh*t from Tokio to Tennesse.”

After a bit more bragging, Shiesty had a message for those who have stood in his corner. “For my fans , supporters , love ones holding me down everyday,” he said. “Keep keeping it solid i promise it dont get unnoticed i see everything and got some special for all word is law.” However, he also had a scathing note for his foes.

Shiesty Has Words For His Enemies

“The rest of you pussies dead ! keep hating , false advertising , back biting , and counting me out, it up and stuck like a tree house,” he further stated. “Im touching down to terrorize i gotta dorito on my shoulder im going 100% flamboyant on you f*cking clowns ! its all bad for you wild ass n*ggas ‘ ALL EYES ON SHIEST ‘ #NeverCheckedIn #SnitchK #No5k1 #Norule35 #Mr.Omerta.” Read the post in its entirety above.

Gucci Mane Called Out Pooh Shiesty’s ‘Unacceptable’ Prison Conditions And Demanded An Investigation

In April, Pooh Shiesty was sentenced to five years in prison. He was indicted on four firearms charges after a shooting incident in October of 2020 at the Landon Hotel in Bay Harbor Islands, Florida. Unfortunately, his time at the United States Penitentiary Pollock (USP Pollock) has been worse than he expected, according to Gucci Mane.

Gucci Mane made a post standing up for Pooh Shiesty yesterday, December 14, bringing awareness to the prison conditions. He posted a photo of text that read: “We do not pay attention to how inmates in the US are treated! @poohshiesty has been sent to a prison over 1500 miles from his home, 23 hr lock down and given empty food trays. USP Pollack should be investigated immediately.” In the caption he called for action: “This is unacceptable! #movepooh #prisonreform @potus @vp @kamalaharris.”

Shiesty seemed rather optimistic entering prison, making a post that read, “The biggest.. I just wanna thank all my love ones. Supporters. And fans for holding me down during these hard times. I wish I could be comingg home to yall today but this couldve been wayyyy worse, I will be back sooner than yall think ! But meantime new music dropping next week, blrrrd!!!” Hopefully Mane’s post will make some change.

Gucci Mane Calls for Investigation into Louisiana Prison Where Pooh Shiesty is Held

Gucci Mane is Name in Wrongful Death Lawsuit for South Carolina Club Shooting

Gucci Mane is speaking out on behalf of his 1017 Records artist Pooh Shiesty. The “Wasted” rapper claims Shiesty is living in cruel conditions at the prison he is currently housed.

Hitting Twitter, Gucci Mane called out USP Pollock, tagging the U.S. President and Vice President, citing they should be investigated.

“We do not pay attention to how inmates are treated!” Gucci Mane wrote. “Pooh has been sent to prison over 1500 miles from his home, 23hr lockdown and given empty food trays. USP Pollock should be investigated immediately.”

At the top of the year, Pooh Shiesty sidestepped a potential life sentence after pleading guilty to a federal charge of conspiracy to possess a firearm in furtherance of violent and drug-trafficking crimes. Rolling Stone reported the charge was from an altercation in Florida in October 2020. Pooh Shiesty is alleged to have shot a man in the buttocks while purchasing sneakers and marijuana. On April 20, 2022, Shiesty was sentenced to five years and three months in prison.

Big30 Makes A Grand Entrance On “Last Man Standing”

Big30’s exceptional run over the past two years led him to the release of his official debut album, Last Man Standing. The Memphis rapper’s latest body of work consists of 16 songs in total. Though he holds down th project on his own mostly, he brings along a few artists like Hotboii, ATL Jacob, Big Homiie G, and Lil Jairmy. However, the most significant feature comes on track 15, “Crying (Interlude),” which includes an outro from Pooh Shiesty over a jail phone.

Last Man Standing is certainly a strong statement for Big30, who has been grinding heavily since the release of King Of Killbranch.
