Rihanna and ASAP Rocky have had a busy itinerary this week. The pair are in France for Paris Fashion Week and have kept busy. At the start of the week, Rihanna popped up for the Christian Dior show. She was sporting a layered black look that left fans a little divided. Later in the week she and Rocky popped up together where her fit was a lot less divisive. But that wasn’t the full story as many online were looking for an explanation from her hair-dresser.

Now their newest appearance may be the biggest yet. Earlier this year the couple were spotted at Elysee Palace after meeting with French president Emmanuel Macron. It’s Rocky’s first time officially crossing paths with Macron but Rihanna has some history with him. RiRi has sat down with Macron twice in the past to discuss educational initiatives she supports. Kendrick Lamar’s Unreleased “Tranquilizer” Used To Soundtrack Fashion Show

Paris Fashion Week is going on and it’s crossed over into hip-hop quite a bit. The biggest moment was likely Pharrell’s newest Louis Vuitton show. He previewed an unreleased song with Miley Cyrus and even used Pusha T as one of his runway models. Another surprising moment came when Quavo and Chris Brown were seated next to each other at one of the shows. It re-ignited a beef between the two when Brown took to Instagram to clarify that he didn’t get to choose his seat and still wasn’t a fan of the Migos rapper.

But speaking of unreleased cuts being played during runway shows, there is even more where that came from. A Kendrick Lamar song that originally leaked last year shocked fans when it made its way into a recent runway show. The track is called “Tranquilizer” and it’s never been officially released. Fans speculate that it’s the original version of what would come to be “United In Grief” from Kendrick’s album Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers. Others have speculated that it could be even earlier than that with some saying it sounds more in line with his 2017 album DAMN. Kendrick Lamar’s Fashion Week Fit For Chanel’s Runway Includes Adidas Crazy 8’s & Denim

From the early days of his career, Kendrick Lamar has always been in a league of his own. The Compton native remains the only rapper to hold the honour of a Pulitzer Prize for his work on DAMN. Though he’s kept relatively quiet on the music front lately, he’s certainly keeping his presence felt overseas for Paris Fashion Week. Earlier this week, Lamar shared a new song in tandem with Chanel. The brand is using it to soundtrack a short film teasing today’s (January 23) runway presentation.

As Elle reports, the Spring/Summer 2024 collection was “an ode to the Chanel jacket,” which the father of two wore while sitting front row. On his Finstagram account this morning, Lamar showed off his posh black and white button-up. He wore it with light-wash jeans and a white tee. The brand is known for popularizing timeless accessories like pearls, some of which Kung-Fu Keny wore on his hat for the special occasion. “no bunk skunk. dave ghetto scorsese. hand shakes n hugs to pg lang. on kenzel washington,” he wrote in the caption of his photo dump.

Rihanna Goes All Black For Christian Dior Spring/Summer Show

Paris Fashion Week is underway this week and the celebrities are piling up. Unsurprisingly, Pharrell brought the musical world with him during his newest Louis Vuitton show. That included playing an old unreleased Miley Cyrus collab and even having Pusha T walk as a model in the show. Chris Brown was in attendance enjoying a performance by Gunna while re-igniting beef with Quavo. Yasiin Bey caught some heat online for his earlier take on Drake being pop-rap and also caught up with Solange. And just this morning J-Lo, Zendaya, and Hunter Schafer caught up during the Schiaparelli show.

But even amongst a sea of stunning fits Rihanna is attempting to rise above everybody else. She turned up over the weekend for the Christian Dior Haute Couture Spring/Summer show in an all black look. That included a black jacket, hat, and bag accessorized with a glistening silver necklace. The post reminded some fans that the beef even existed in the first place as it’s been dormant for quite a while.

Eagle-eyed fans also spotted Chris Brown and Gunna at the same show. The pair were in attendance for the AMIRI show last week. But now even more videos of the duo are popping up. Quavo, Key Glock & Jim Jones Came To Impress At Paris Fashion Week

Paris Fashion Week has, as expected, been a pretty eventful opportunity for hip-hop greats to link up and dress to impress. Moreover, we’ve seen a lot of clips as of late as to how the rap-verse is spending this stylish time, including a video of two incredible artists, Solange and Yasiin Bey (FKA Mos Def), chopping it up. In addition, we also saw a couple of clips over the weekend of Quavo, Jim Jones, and Key Glock having fun during the occasion, and so many more that popped up as cameos. Most importantly, it’s always heartening to see these artists show love to each other, be it for their drip or anything else.

For example, Key Glock had himself an amazing time at Paris Fashion Week, turning up the crowd at what seems like an afterparty with his smash hit “Let’s Go.” Not only that, but plenty of other rappers also popped up around his section to greet him and talk for a bit. These include J Balvin, Gunna, and Yeat, which is just about the wildest combination one could imagine for a collab. Jokes aside, the Memphis MC will hopefully continue his 2023 acclaim into 2024, because his hard work and consistency definitely merits it.

Elsewhere during Paris Fashion Week, Jim Jones played the double role of famous rapper clubbing it up and model. Yasiin Bey, previously known as Mos Def, has been at the center of quite a bit of discussion recently. So much so that a simple conversation with Solange after a fashion show earlier this week turned into news. It all started earlier this month when Bey was asked about Drake’s music in an interview. “Drake is pop to me. In the sense, like, if I was in Target in Houston, and I heard a Drake song. It feels like a lot of his music is compatible with… shopping. Or, as you know, shopping with an edge in certain instances,” Bey replied.

That statement didn’t sit right with many rap fans and fellow rappers. One who notably spoke out against Bey’s comments was NLE Choppa. He came to Drake’s defense against the allegations that he just makes pop rap. Drake himself also fired back with a post to his Instagram story. He shared an old video clip of Method Man claiming that rap is more about upholding the culture more than any specific sound or style.
