Drake Seemingly Accuses Spotify Of Certifying Fake Streams Of Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us”

Drake is still mad at Kendrick Lamar over their beef, and he has made that very clear with his Internet presence after the battle wrapped up. While K.Dot filmed a music video and hosted a West Coast celebration as his victory lap, Drizzy’s idea of a triumphant parade is shady IG stories and captions, voting in online polls about the best diss track from the feud, and most recently, some comments on Trainwrecktv’s Kick stream last night. “hey pragmatic can we take it back to 2022…” he apparently wrote in chat. “can you backdoor Eddie like Spotify backdoored the streams for that one song from that one guy.”

Of course, many took this to reference Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us,” which has faced various accusations from Drake’s supporters of using bots to push fake streams. However, many of these claims have either been debunked or dismissed, as fans have brought up how the Mustard-produced banger is number one on Apple Music and how you apparently can’t bot on that platform. As such, these theories remain purely speculative, although it’s pretty likely that both artists benefitted from bots and fake streams to some degree. After all, even though neither MC probably ordered this, their supporters and fans can take matters into their own hands.

Drake Is Mad At Spotify For Allegedly Fake “Not Like Us” Streams

For that reason, discussions around fake streams and botting turn more innocuous by the day as it becomes clear that these songs would’ve been massive successes either way. Also, this whole thing doesn’t really matter as much as the beef itself, and both Drake and Kendrick Lamar are finding it hard to move on from it. The 6ix God just released two summer bangers that even one of his biggest haters proclaimed as smash hits. But it seems like it’s not enough for him.

Nevertheless, we can’t really know how this situation will conclude, or to what extent bots and fake streams assisted “Not Like Us” or a track like “Family Matters.” Drake will likely continue to engage in some social media shots against his opponent, and Kendrick Lamar… Well, we have no idea. There are album rumors that could manifest or come and go with the wind. Will we still see botting accusations if it drops?

Charleston White Shares Cynical Theory About Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” Video Shoot

Charleston White is someone who’s become known for his questionable takes on a variety of different topics, and now, Kendrick Lamar is one of them. During a recent interview, the internet personality weighed in on Kendrick bringing rival gangs together for his upcoming “Not Like Us” music video. While the rapper was widely praised for doing so, White thinks it was only for optics, and not a real attempt to promote peace in his community.

“Kendrick did that for a video shoot,” he claimed. “He didn’t do that to bring n****s together. Them n****s just found something to dance to.” White also went on to argue that Kendrick’s effort to promote up-and-coming artists at “The Pop Out” fell flat. “They ain’t going nowhere. Ain’t nobody finna to listen to no up-and-coming L.A. artists, but L.A. artists in their neighborhood. Don’t nobody want to hear that sh*t,” he said.

Charleston White Thinks Kendrick Lamar Only Brought Rival Gangs Together For Optics

Elsewhere in the conversation, White made it clear that he supported Drake amid his viral rap beef with Kendrick. He also insisted that he’s a far better artist overall, and claimed that it’s not even a close call. “Let me just say this,” he began. “Drake a way better rapper. I know Drake’s songs, I ain’t never heard a n***a in Texas pull up bumping Kendrick’s sh*t or nothing. I was just going against the grain. Let’s be clear. Kendrick can’t compare unless you like twisting your fingers up like the r******* people. That’s the only way you gonna like Kendrick, you’ve got to be r*******.”

Ryan Garcia Disses Devin Haney With Cringeworthy Kendrick Lamar “Not Like Us” Freestyle

Ryan Garcia is certainly an interesting character as it pertains to the boxing world. However, he has been embroiled in quite a bit of controversy and turmoil as of late. Overall, this is due to the fact that he tested positive for PEDs following his fight with Devin Haney. As a result, the win did not count. Furthermore, Garcia has been suspended for an entire year. This is not good for his career, especially since a loss to Gervonta Davis has already put him on the fringes of irrelevance.

Despite Garcia’s alleged actions, the boxer still carries hatred for Devin Haney. It’s peculiar as to why considering Haney has nothing to do with the suspension. Regardless, if Garcia has an opportunity to diss Haney, he is going to take it every single time. That is exactly what happened recently as Garcia was streaming on a yacht with content creator N3on. As you can see below, Garcia gave his own freestyle on top of Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us.”

Lyrically, this freestyle was not good. As far as flows go, it also wasn’t very good. In the comments section over at No Jumper, fans couldn’t help but make fun of Garcia’s recent change in demeanor. “His whole demeanor change after the tank fight,” one person wrote. “Ryan looks like he’s on coke,” said another. Some fans even called N3on corny for entertaining any of this. If anything is for certain, it is that Garcia is not the same fighter he was even just one year ago.

Fans are shivering with anticipation for Kendrick Lamar‘s upcoming music video for “Not Like Us.” But the behind the scenes footage is proving to be equally as captivating as the yet-to-be-released visual. Last week, Lamar was in Compton filming the video for the Drake diss track, and several fans showed up to witness history in the making.

In between shooting scenes for the video, Lamar walked by fans. As he was passing by the crowd, a fan pinched him on the cheek. This prompted a huge smile from Lamar, who was seen glowing as a result.

A clip of Lamar reacting to his cheek being pinched has gone viral on social media, with many fans finding Lamar’s reaction adorable.

One fan on X (formerly Twitter) called this “the pookiefication of kendrick lamar”)

“he is so tiny and cute,” said another fan

But while this clip is precious, and Lamar didn’t appear to take issue with it, we should not touch people without their consent.

“he’s too nice,” one fan wrote. “pls don’t do this celebrity or otherwise.”

At the time of writing, there is no word on a premiere date for the “Not Like Us” video.

Mustard Details The Moment He Heard Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” For The First Time

This year has been one of the wildest for hip-hop in quite some time. Most of that can be attributed the thrilling battle between Kendrick Lamar and Drake. Those first few days of May where they went tit for tat with diss records was an unforgettable moment. Of course, that brief stretch included “Not Like Us”, which is seen as Kendrick’s dagger and the West Coast’s as well. The record became an instant hit, partially because of Mustard’s incredible beat. The latter has been one of the top-flight producers for a while now, notching collaborations with so many superstars. However, this Kendrick Lamar collaboration did not come as easy as the others.

The critically acclaimed beat crafter sat down with Big Boy to talk about the song, as well as The Pop Out and much more. During their hour-long sit-down, Mustard explained that he was sending Lamar beat after beat during the back-and-forth with Drake. In fact, he says it was around five a day and probably hit almost 100 in total. Ultimately though, he was not sure what would happen. Then, he received a text while driving to a baby shower, saying that the Compton rapper dropped another diss track. Shortly after, Mustard said he got another message that read one of the best quotables from the song, “‘Mustard on the beat ho’”.

Mustard Couldn’t Believe That Kendrick Used His Beat For “Not Like Us”

He told Big Boy he was all sorts of confused, “I’m like ‘Wtf did I miss?’ And that’s how I heard the song on the 405 freeway, driving, and I start spazzing…listening to it over and over. I couldn’t believe it”, Mustard explained. Even though, he is a fantastic producer, the Los Angeles, California native can now say he is a part of a historical moment in the genre’s history. Mustard is doing a great job of capitalizing on this, as he is dropping his new album, Faith Of A Mustard Seed, on July 26.

What are your thoughts on how Mustard heard “Not Like Us” for the first time? Is this one of the best diss tracks of all time, why or why not? Where does this beat rank for Mustard’s discography? Will this become the most iconic diss record ever? We would like to hear what you have to say, so leave your thoughts in the comments. Kendrick Lamar Goes Viral For His Reaction To Being Pinched On The Cheek

Kendrick Lamar was on a bit of a victory lap last week. Overall, it all started with “The Pop Out.” It was here where Kendrick brought out numerous West Coast artists in an effort to unify Los Angeles. Moreover, it was an opportunity for him to perform his Drake diss tracks for the first time. In fact, he ended up delivering five-straight performances of “Not Like Us” which was the equivalent of twisting the knife in a stab wound.

Over the weekend, Kendrick Lamar kept up the momentum as he was in Compton to film the “Not Like Us” music video. Fans are anticipating the video to come out this week, although there is no exact timeline for its release. Clips from the video shoot are going viral, including one in which Kendrick is walking by a crowd. As he makes his way through, a hand reaches over and pinches him on the cheek. Lamar subsequently looks up and delivers a bright smile before heading on his way.

Drake “OVHOE” Chant Fails Miserably As BNYX Blasts The Megastar’s “Meltdown” Verse

Drake has been getting a lot of flack as of late thanks to his beef with Kendrick Lamar. Overall, there are numerous fans out there who believe he took one of the biggest Ls we have ever seen. Although Lamar is still on his victory lap, there are some who think that Drake can still come away with a win of sorts. For instance, he has two tracks dropping on Friday thanks to Camilla Cabello. These could very well be summer jams that would ultimately restore favor for the Canadian megastar.

Perhaps the most prominent chant or rallying cry throughout the beef has been “OVHOE.” This was chanted during “The Pop Out” and is a significant portion of Kendrick’s “Not Like Us” diss track. Recently, BNYX was playing a show in which the crowd began chanting “OVHOE.” It’s a move that didn’t make sense given BNYX’s loyalty to Drake. Moreover, BNYX began playing Drake’s “Meltdown” verse, and the crowd immediately went wild. It just goes to show that Drizzy still gets the people going, despite what some may say.

Drake Has The Fans Going

After a couple of rough months, you’d have to think Drake is relieved to see something like this. Some have tried to say that Kendrick did to Drake what 50 Cent did to Ja Rule. While Drake certainly has taken the L thus far, his career is far from over and this seems to prove that. Only time will tell if Drizzy can restore even more favor with a massive single, or perhaps even a return to form project.

Let us know what you think of this clip, in the comments section down below. Do you believe that this is even more proof that Drake is going to be just fine? What do you make of people trying to clown Drake, only to go off and bump his music? Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for the latest news and updates from around the music world. Can Kendrick Lamar’s ‘Not Like Us’ Win A Grammy Award?

kendrick lamar

Kendrick Lamar has a significant hit on his hands with “Not Like Us,” as the Drake diss track ended up debuting at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. It’s one of the year’s defining songs so far, so people might be wondering about its chances at the 2025 Grammy Awards.

Can Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” Win A Grammy Award?

There are some requirements for a song to be eligible for Grammy nomination, and one of the most immediately important ones is the release window. In order to be eligible for the 2025 awards, a work needs to have been released between September 16, 2023 to August 30, 2024. “Not Like Us” come out on May 4, so it’s well within the window.

Another noteworthy consideration is the use of AI. As established for the 2024 awards, work created using AI tools is actually eligible for Grammy nomination if, among other criteria, “the human authorship component of the work submitted must be meaningful and more than de minimis.” There has been no word of AI usage in the song’s creation, so “Not Like Us” is alright on that front, too.

So, it appears there’s no reason why the song can’t be considered, and Recording Academy CEO Harvey Mason Jr. just backed that up. In a recent TMZ interview, he was asked about if the song could be nominated and he said he doesn’t “see any reason why it couldn’t be.”

XXL Freshman Class Catches Flack For “Not Like Us” Slogan With No West Coast Artists Included

The 2024 XXL Freshman Class is finally here, and it’s a pretty exciting roster of names that has people engaging in a lot of debate, discussion, and hot takes online. However, one aspect of this conversation so far online doesn’t really concern the featured artists, but rather the slogan that the publication chose to attribute to them: “Not Like Us.” This prompted many fans to do a quick scan and posit that this misses the point about what Kendrick Lamar’s song is partially about. After all, this new Freshman Class includes no West Coast artists, so some folks online have an issue with using that region’s current big hit.

Of course, the hype behind this Drake diss track is so massive across various corners of hip-hop that it’s easy to understand why this 2024 XXL Freshman Class rollout would want to cement this moment within its coverage. In fact, Kendrick Lamar recently filmed the music video for “Not Like Us” in Compton, which makes this contrast caused by no West Coast artists all the more present in people’s minds right now. Still, there’s so much to talk about with the list either way that this backlash might fizzle out eventually. But the West will likely never forget.

2024’s XXL Freshman Class

Regardless of all that, XXL‘s Freshman Class this year is going to show off their skills soon, and they’ll prove fans’ adoration or skepticism soon enough. BigXthaPlug, Maiya The Don, Hunxho, Rich Amiri, Cash Cobain, Lay Bankz, That Mexican OT, 4batz, Skilla Baby, Bossman Dlow, and ScarLip have fans ready to see what they’ve got. We all know how infamous or legendary some of these freestyles and cyphers can be, so it’s going to be fun to watch it all go down. They already did a video series responding to hate comments, so they kicked off the content right away.

Fans React To The “Not Like Us” Slogan

Meanwhile, this has still been a phenomenal year for the West Coast, with or without XXL Freshman Class representation. Maybe the publication should consider an all-West Coast cypher much like they did with femcees not too long ago. Either way, there’s a lot to be excited about, and much more to look forward to from California and company. As for the XXL list, we can’t wait for those conversations.

DJ Mustard Clarifies He Wasn’t Trolling Drake With Toronto Blue Jays Hat During “Not Like Us” Video

DJ Mustard says that he didn’t intend to troll Drake when he wore a Toronto Blue Jays hat during the music video shoot for Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us.” Speaking with Big Boy after the star-studded event, he clarified that it was just coincidently the only hat he had left with him at the time.

“I wasn’t trying to troll,” Mustard explained while laughing. “Everybody thought I was trolling. I bought a lot of hats that I like. I bought an STL hat. What’s this an Angels hat? Or a Braves hat?” From there, he added that he sweated out two of his hats during The Pop Out – Ken & Friends, and the Blue Jays hat was coincidently the last one he had with him. “I never thought that much into it,” he concluded.

Elsewhere in the clip, Mustard explained that he and Lamar were discussing how the video was similar to Dr. Dre and 2Pac’s “California Love” video, at which point Lamar revealed to him that he was at that video shoot with his father. The music video shoot came after Mustard and Lamar linked up at The Pop Out – Ken & Friends, earlier in the week. There, Lamar performed the hit song several times over to conclude a night that highlighted numerous West Coast artists. “Y’all ain’t gonna let anyone disrespect the West Coast, huh? Oh, y’all ain’t gonna let nobody mock and imitate our legends, huh?” he asked the crowd at one point.
