Nicki Minaj & Cardi B’s Blonde Battle Continues, Latter Shops At Balenciaga On Mystery Admirers Dime

Nearly every femcee standing centre stage in the rap game right now has collaborated with the fashion world in some capacity. However, few of them are making bold statements with their outfits the way Cardi B has since her come-up. Interestingly, her “MotorSport” collaborator Nicki Minaj seems to think the New Yorker is taking one too many pages from her book. For her latest transformation, Bardi swapped out her signature jet black hair for a long, platinum blonde wig, which she paired with a stunning white fur coat to film a clip for Instagram earlier this weekend.

Before long, the Barbz and even Minaj pointed out that the Queen of Rap previously stepped out in a similar style. “B**ches Jackin. I’m still Queenin,” she wrote in her caption on Saturday (December 23). In both photos, the mother of one’s hair sits in a shoulder-length 613 style, bringing out the golden tones in her complexion more than usual. Of course, Nicki isn’t the first lyricist to style herself like this either, but her fans seem to enjoy stressing Cardi out by drawing comparisons between the two women.

The “Bodak Yellow” lyricist addressed the situation in a rant yesterday, making it clear that the fur coat is an “archive” piece she’s had in her closet for ages. While she sounded upset at the time, it seems a trip to the Balenciaga store was all it took to adjust Cardi’s attitude.

“I’m not going to lie to you, when I got to the Balenciaga store, there was some items picked up,” Cardi B told her bestie from off camera. “Somebody knew I was going [shopping there],” she added, noting that besides the pre-selected gifts, they also left their card on file for her to purchase whatever she wanted. Nicki Minaj Addresses Tory Lanez & Iggy Azalea Bar, Ranks Her Own Albums

Nicki Minaj recently sat down for a very enlightening interview with Joe Budden, one that finally cleared up one of her new album Pink Friday 2‘s most memorable lyrics. “Stay in your Tory lane, b***h, I’m not Iggy,” she rapped on the cut “FTCU,” a pointed reference to both artists’ working relationship, collaborative history, the letter that Azalea wrote in support of Lanez, and possibly a Megan Thee Stallion diss. Given how much this bar stood out, we’re not surprised that the Slaughterhouse MC wanted to dive deeper in. When Joe asked, the Trinidadian rapper turned the question on him to see if his interpretation is on the right track.

“Well, it could be shade to a few people,” Joe Budden began. “Without saying if you think the shade is in mind, what do you think the line itself means?” Nicki Minaj clapped back. “‘I’m not one of them,’ that’s what I think it means,” he replied. “And I think it was a clever way to say that.” “Yeah! Thank you,” she responded, although she seemed comically taken aback by his laughter right after. “I really appreciate me getting a compliment from Mr. Buddens! I’m taking it.” “I liked your last album!” Joe hilariously defended, to which Nicki said that even she doesn’t like that album.

Elsewhere, she also spoke a little bit more on Queen indirectly via social media on Friday (December 22). Moreover, Nicki Minaj provided her “honest ranking” of all her albums on Twitter, which may surprise folks. “Ok here’s my honest ranking,” she began. “1. Pink Friday 2. 2. The Pinkprint. 3. QUEEN. 4. Pink Friday. 5. Pink Friday Roman Reloaded (The Re-Up). But I truly respect all gag city resident opinions. What the albums mean to you is your own truth based on where you were in your own life.” Considering that the 41-year-old apparently doesn’t even like Queen, this insinuation that she doesn’t like Pink Friday might be the reason she wanted to make whatever she wanted to make on its sequel.

Nicki Minaj Ranks Her Albums

Meanwhile, these comments on the Tory and Iggy bar are interesting considering other comments during this interview on her appreciation for female rappers. Surely the coming days and weeks will bring us more revelations and statements in this vein from someone so connected to their fanbase. We can’t wait to see how the new year shapes up for the Queen. Nicki Minaj’s new album, Pink Friday 2, has only been out for a few days — but it seems the rapper has some thoughts about how it compares to her past records. Today, she took to Twitter to share her ranking regarding her discography. And fans had a ton of reactions to the placements.

Given its recency and her love for it, Minaj put Pink Friday 2 at the top spot. After that, in second place, she had her 2014 album, The Pinkprint.

To round out the top five, Queen came at No. 3, the original Pink Friday was at No. 4, and Minaj’s Pink Friday Roman Reloaded (The Re-Up) was No. 5. She also made a point to note that anyone’s rankings are valid.

“But I truly respect all gag city resident opinions,” Minaj tweeted. “What the albums mean to you is your own truth based on where you were in your own life.”

Some fans agreed that The Pinkprint deserved one of the higher spots. “queen above pink friday is CRAZY but thank god there’s democracy in gag city cause pinkprint still sitting pretty at the top,” one wrote.

And others reiterated that they felt her 2018 album, Queen, should’ve been lower. In the end, as Minaj mentioned, the Barbz were very divided.

What Does Nicki Minaj’s ‘FTCU’ Mean?

From the launch of her seemingly multiple-reality world Gag City, to the plethora of sound effects in her arsenal, Nicki Minaj is a wealth of insider secrets that only true Barbz understand. However, if you plan on attending any of the 37 Pink Friday 2 World Tour dates, you should become hip to the lingo.

Nicki’s record-setting album, Pink Friday 2, for the most part, isn’t a difficult concept to understand, but there’s one track that might have some confused: Users online want to know what Nicki Minaj’s “FTCU” means.

What Does Nicki Minaj’s “FTCU” Mean?

In short, the ATL Jacob-produced single gets its name from an African American Vernacular English (AAVE) saying. “F*ck the club up,” or the acronym FTCU, is a common expression used to detail just how wild a person is going to party or let loose during a social gathering. (Minaj’s song, though, says “f*ck this club up.”)

This concept isn’t new by any means. Last year, Latto, GloRilla, and the late Gangsta Boo dropped a track by the same name. However, Nicki put her own spin on it. Instead of sampling Three 6 Mafia’s 1995 song “Tear Da Club Up,” Nicki pulls from Waka Flocka’s 2010 track “F*ck The Club Up.”

While Latto focuses on nightlife on her respective track, for Nicki, the rap game is where she wants to cause havoc. “Yo, I tell ’em that I’m the Sleeze, they tellin’ me, ‘Okay, prove it’ / I leave these b*tches on read, so now they know that they blew it / I tell ’em I’m movin’ units, my videos, they gon’ view it / Spotify ain’t gotta lie, they really streamin’ my music / I give b*tches the crown, thеy f*ck around and lose it, nah / I am the wave, I only wavе when I’m tellin’ ’em bye / B*tch, we ain’t twinnin’, ain’t fraternal or identical / When I’m around, b*tch, you know you become invisible.”

Nicki Minaj’s “FTCU” is a cleverly positioned jab at the cliques formed by other women in rap.

Lil Wayne Names Nicki Minaj The “GOAT Young Money Artist” Over Drake

Nicki Minaj Names New Album 'Pink Friday 2,' Announces New Release Date

Lil Wayne will forever go down in history as the “Best Rapper Alive,” but he’s a GOAT label owner. As the founder of Young Money, Weezy was able to put on a slew of talented artists, including two of the biggest artists in the world: Drake and Nicki Minaj.

Most recently, Lil Wayne hopped on Complex’ GOAT Talk alongside 2 Chainz. The two recently unveiled their highly-anticipated collaborative project titled Welcome 2 Collegrove.

When asked who Wayne considers the “GOAT Young Money artist,” the “Lollipop” rapper didn’t hesitate in naming the Queen Barbie herself, Nicki Minaj.

“GOAT Young Money artist? Nicki Minaj,” Wayne answers.

Tity Boi quickly agreed too, stating: “I would say Nicki too. I love Nicki too.”

Nicki Minaj recently unveiled her album, Pink Friday 2, where Lil Wayne appears as a standout feature on “RNB.” Nicki even went as far as crediting Lil Wayne for saving her project from yet another delay. Pink Friday 2 was originally supposed to be released in November.

She announced on social media: “My beloved brother/boss stepped up for me so that I wouldn’t have to push my album back. His name is Lil Wayne AKA the GOAT. He will perform tmrw @ the Chicago show.”

This was in regards to Lil Wayne replacing her on the lineup for 103.5 KISS FM’s Chicago Jingle Ball.

Is A New Nicki Minaj & Rihanna Collaboration Finally Happening?

Nicki Minaj, Rihanna

The Barbz and the Navy fans are buzzing with excitement over the possibility of a long-awaited collaboration between the two megastars, Rihanna and Nicki Minaj. This follows after the Queen of Rap dropped subtle hints suggesting that Bad Gal Riri might be featured on the Pink Friday 2 Deluxe.

‘Gag City Deluxe’

Nicki Minaj caused quite a stir on social media on Wednesday, Dec. 20, when she hinted at a collaboration with Rihanna.

Taking to her Instagram, Nicki shared a video of the Bajan songstress dancing to the track “FTCU” from her album Pink Friday 2, which ultimately debuted at No.1 on the Billboard charts. Alongside the clip, she wrote:

“The full gag city deluxe album coming out until Queen Rih send her vocals. POW @badgalriri.”

‘It’s Giving Crystal Ball’

Fans of both artists flooded social media with excitement and anticipation. One fan on Instagram with the username @samimdrunk exclaimed, “Idk a rihnika collab is kinda what the world needs right now.” Another user, @KingDeCarlos, chimed in, saying, “I think she’s just being funny.. But I would love to see the island gals cut up.”

Nicki Minaj Would Collaborate With Fellow ‘Sag Queen’ Taylor Swift ‘In A Heartbeat’

Nicki Minaj answered some fan questions on Twitter, particularly if she would ever jump into the studio to collaborate with Taylor Swift. The answer was, obviously, yes, as Minaj didn’t hesitate to shower Swift with praise.

She responded that she would love to work with her “in a heartbeat.”

“The QUEEN TAYLOR DESERVES!!!! PERIOD!!!!!” Minaj wrote in a separate tweet. “She takes months & years off then comes back with great music & fans who’ll never leave her!!!!”

“The point is that we have something to aspire to as we watch the SAG QUEEN Taylor & the swifties & Republic Records,” she added, as she also discussed her own vinyl sales.

Except for a brief 2015 feud, Swift and Minaj have been longtime friends. When the rapper dropped her song “Super Bass” years ago, as she was just getting started, Swift gave it a boost in listeners by promoting it.

A few months ago, fans had speculated if the two were actually working on music together for Swift’s 1989 (Taylor’s Version). The theories started after Swift included the word “Sagittarius” in her puzzle on Google, which was tied to the album. Considering the two both share the same star sign, it seemed like a possibility.

“That’s my favorite Sagittarius over there,” Swift also described about Minaj at this year’s Video Music Awards.

Nicki Minaj’s Jaw Hit The Floor When She Heard Stephen Colbert’s Improvised Bars During Their ‘F The Colbert Up’ Rap Battle

Pink Friday 2 debuted at No. 1 on this week’s Billboard 200, so Nicki Minaj has an excuse to rest, but that is not the Nicki Minaj that Barbz have come to know and love.

On Wednesday, December 20, Minaj casually tossed out that perhaps Rihanna should “send her vocals” for “the full” Pink Friday 2 (Gag City Deluxe), and then she starred on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert later that night. Minaj explained the meaning of Gag City to a very confused Colbert before he encouraged her to freestyle.

“Honestly, y’all, I only had two seconds to make this up, so it’s only two lines,” Minaj told the in-studio audience. “But there’s a song on my called ‘F The Club Up’ [‘FTCU‘], and instead, I changed it to ‘F The Colbert Up,’ right? And so, the first the two lines, I changed it for him in Gag City, when he arrives. It goes, ‘High heels on for Stevie / If I marry Stevie, he ain’t ever gon’ leave me.”

Minaj repeated the bar, but this time, she challenged him to tack his own bars to “end the rap” with “the first thing that pops into your mind that rhymes.” Colbert jumped in with, “High heels or not, Nicki / You better hope you never meet my wife, Evie.”

Minaj’s mouth dropped in shock at Colbert’s mic drop, and I agree: The round goes to Colbert.

Elsewhere during Minaj’s visit, she excitedly looked forward to her 2024 Pink Friday 2 World Tour and shared how her three-year-old son, Papa Bear, “runs everything.”
