The girls are fighting: Megan Thee Stallion’s appearance on the Mean Girls soundtrack has reignited the fiery side of the rapper. On her latest single, “Hiss,” she’s officially taken the gloves off. While Megan has attempted to stay far away from conflict, her detractors don’t have that same sense of peace; thus, a music beef has been brought to the forefront.
On the record, co-produced by LilJuMadeDaBeat, Bankroll Got It, and Shawn “Source” Jarrett, Megan is done playing nice with former friend Nicki Minaj.
What Did Megan Thee Stallion Say About Nicki Minaj On ‘Hiss?’
Well, nearly the end of the song’s first verse, Megan takes an apparent jab at Nicki’s husband Kenneth Petty’s legal matters. “These hoes don’t be mad at Megan, these hoes mad at Megan’s Law,” raps Megan, referring to Petty’s past sexual assault allegations and failure to register as a sex offender in the state of California. “I don’t really know what the problem is, but I guarantee y’all don’t want me to start / B*tch, you a p*ssy, never finna check me / Every chance you get, bet your weak ass won’t address me / B*tches swear they G, but the G must stand for goofy.”
Shortly after the record was released, Nicki took to Instagram Live to preview a snippet of her response diss track.
OOP! Nicki Minaj quickly responds to the shots Megan Thee Stallion threw on her newly released “HISS” by teasing a diss song and liking tweets of Meg being shot.
“The btch fell off, I said get up on your good foot… you have 3 Grammys and you have to learn how to rap on beat.” pic.twitter.com/O5bXjcIc6b
But apparently, Nicki isn’t the only person Megan turns her pen on. Fans believe the record contains a slew of sharp jabs aimed at her ex-boyfriend Pardi, Drake, and even DaBaby.
Listen to “Hiss” below.
Megan Thee Stallion is a Warner Music artist. Uproxx is an independent subsidiary of Warner Music Group.
On the new track, Meg raps, “These hoes don’t be mad at Megan, these hoes mad at Megan’s Law / I don’t really know what the problem is, but I guarantee y’all don’t want me to start / B*tch, you a p*ssy, never finna check me / Every chance you get, bet your weak ass won’t address me.”
Per Cornell Law School, Megan’s Law is “the federal law that ‘require(s) the release of relevant information to protect the public from sexually violent offenders.’” This has been interpreted as a reference to Minaj’s husband Kenneth Petty, who in 2022 was sentenced to a year of house arrest for failing to register as a sex offender.
Minaj caught wind of the new song and didn’t waste time with her retort.
After the song dropped, Minaj hopped on Instagram Live for a broadcast, during which repeatedly played a snippet of an unreleased song featuring lyrics apparently aimed at Meg. Minaj raps, “Bad b*tch, she like six foot, I call her Big Foot / The b*tch fell off, I said, ‘Get up on your good foot.’” The foot lyrics are an apparent reference to Megan getting shot in the foot by Tory Lanez.

During the broadcast, Minaj also made fun of Meg’s rapping skills, saying, “You have three Grammys and you have to learn how to rap on the beat and be comfortable in the music,” then doing a mocking impression of Meg’s flow.
On top of that, Minaj also liked posts about Megan getting shot, and posted a photo of her feet on X (formerly Twitter).
Ice Spice, the rap sensation on a meteoric rise, has just dropped her first release of 2024 with the unconventional track, “THINK U THE SHIT (FART).” The song introduces a unique and attention-grabbing element, with Ice Spice drawing comparisons between herself and another woman using the now-viral line: “Think you the shit, bitch? You not even the fart.” This distinct choice of lyrics in the opening chorus has quickly become a talking point, capturing the curiosity of listeners and igniting discussions across social media platforms.
“Think You The Sh*t (Fart)” serves as a bold declaration of assertive self-confidence and superiority. Ice Spice employs direct and unapologetic language to establish dominance over her peers, touching on themes of wealth, physical appeal, and personal prowess. The lyrics reflect a contemporary cultural emphasis on material success and individual empowerment in competitive environments. The song’s first snippet made its debut on Ice Spice’s social media channels on January 7, 2024. Accompanied by an image/meme featuring Nintendo character Mario, the snippet unveiled the now-iconic lyrics of the chorus beneath him.
Moreover, this strategic teaser created immediate buzz and anticipation, signaling the beginning of Ice Spice’s highly anticipated 2024 rollout campaign. After all, she is set to perform at Coachella this year. Ice Spice’s trajectory in the rap scene has been nothing short of extraordinary. In the past two years, she has rapidly ascended to fame, making appearances in advertisements for Dunkin Donuts and Starry. Her contribution of the hit track “Barbie World” with Nicki Minaj, to a super-successful film soundtrack further solidified her status as one of rap’s fastest rising stars.
Despite her previous successes, the rap princess has kept fans eagerly awaiting her debut album. With the release of “Think You The Sh*t (Fart)” it seems the long-awaited album’s rollout campaign is finally kicking into high gear in 2024. The artist’s ability to blend bold lyricism with a unique sound continues to captivate audiences, ensuring that she remains a force to be reckoned with in the ever-evolving landscape of hip-hop. As fans anxiously await more details on the forthcoming album, the release of this bold new anthem sets the stage for what promises to be another groundbreaking chapter in Ice Spice’s musical journey.
Quotable Lyrics Think you the sh*t, b*tch? You not even the fart (Grrah) I be goin’ hard (Grrah) I’m breakin’ they hearts, like B*tches be quick, but I’m quicker (Like) B*tches be thick, but I’m thicker (Like) She could be rich, but I’m richer (Damn)
Being known as the Queen of Rap means Nicki Minaj has countless loyal subjects (known as The Barbz) who worship her every move. Of course, with so much fame, fortune, and power also come haters who are dead-set on ruining your reputation — something the Trinidadian is all too familiar with. Lately, it’s allegations of substance abuse and needing to attend rehab that are upsetting Minaj, who lashed out at a TikTok user reporting on the gossip. According to the content creator, a recent Blind Item on gossip website CrazyDaysAndNights about someone’s struggles with drugs is about Minaj, and the “Barbie Dreams” hitmaker is growing weary.
”Speaking of horrible people, this foreign-born former A+ list rapper definitely needs rehab before she tries to do a tour. It will be awful,” the anonymous clue reads. After @CelebriTEAblinds made a video suggesting Minaj is the artist in question, all hell broke loose in her DMs. “Once ugly disease allegedly is being paid to get uglier,” is what the black-haired beauty wrote.
Later, Minaj headed to the comment section on the defamatory video to get more off her chest, as HipHopDX notes. “Allegedly they are sucking someone’s d**k & being paid to try and tear down a tour. SOLD OUT, SOLD OUT, SOLD OUT. Allegedly you have a disease?” she further clapped back. It seems the femcee wants to remind us how powerful words can be, even if only “alleged” with her emotionally loaded online messages.
As her Pink Friday 2 album continues to rack up streaming numbers, Nicki Minaj is obviously finding plenty of time to put her haters on blast. The mother of one recently addresses fake fan pages popping up on social media, seemingly suggesting that the CIA could be behind them. Read more about that at the link below, and check back later for more hip-hop/pop culture news updates.

HotNewHipHop‘s Fire Emoji playlist update for this week is your destination to get the best of the best hip-hop releases this week, and we had a lot of hot singles and projects to highlight. Moreover, leading the way are Nicki Minaj and Future, who invite us to “Press Play” on their newest collab off Pink Friday 2 (Gag City PLUTO Edition). It’s a fast-paced, confident, and relentless trade-off between both lyricists as they let their flows and trill hi-hats and snares do the talking. Also on the new album tip, Rot Ken came through with a 15-track effort Kenny World featuring Kenny Mason, SoFaygo, and more. Particularly, Young Nudy woozily and fittingly assists on the cut “Miracle,” a bouncy trap banger with dreamy synths.
However, Fire Emoji also contains a lot of lyrical mastery this week, most expertly coming from Conway The Machine and Cool & Dre’s “Give & Give.” It’s a soulful sample-led meeting between legends and a legend in the making that’s a treat to see with its triumphant atmosphere. In addition, we also have Sir Gangsta. T and Curren$y’s new ethereal and abstractly structured single “Jet Life Over H*es.” It switches between drumless soundscapes and a West Coast-inspired bounce to great effect, and their flows here are choppy but in the most engaging way possible.
Not only that, but we finally got a pretty anticipated release from Anycia and Latto, “BACK OUTSIDE,” that fans loved the teasers for. Over a horn-heavy trunk-knocker, both femcees show off a lot of swagger and don’t let up on their fiery performances, both lyrically and technically. Elsewhere on Fire Emoji is Fivio Foreign and Meek Mill’s “Same 24,” which sees both of them in more introspective and measured lanes with show-stopping results. Finesse2tymes and Rick Ross turn their come-up into triumph on “Fat Boy,” and they display a lot of chemistry.
Meanwhile, Joey Bada$$ got into his melodic bag on the KayCyy collab “Passports & Suitcases,” an exciting and promising new direction for him. Finally, we want to shout out Rob49 and Lil Wayne’s “Wassam Baby” for its breakneck pace and verses. Let us know in the comments what your favorite Fire Emoji release was this week -– and what else we missed. Check out the playlist above and stay logged into HNHH for more great music releases each week.
It’s been quite a while since the world was first introduced to “Tia & Tamera.” The identical twins became international sensations on the ’90s sitcom Sister, Sister, but that wasn’t the end of their entertainment run. Over the last few decades, the women have built million-dollar brands, starred in films and television shows, had their own reality TV series, released music, launched haircare products, and much more. While Tia and Tamera Mowy’s names and faces are permanently etched into pop culture history, the pair are also regular fixtures in Hip Hop lyrics.
Tamera Mowry has just tapped into a few of these Rap references. While we’re sure there are far more out there in the music ether, Tamera found six “Tia & Tamera” lyrics and references that have been staples. Some, she was already aware of, but others were brand new to her ears. Moreover, Tamera ranked the tracks after previewing them in a video she shared with her Instagram followers. Take a look at the video below, along with the songs ranked in the order chosen by Tamera Mowry.
Drill giant Chief Keef released “Picking Big Sean Up” back in 2021, but contrary to the title, the Detroit rapper didn’t make an appearance on the track. However, the Sister, Sister twins’ names surfaced when Keef rapped: “Man, these b*tches irri’ / She want a Panamera / Pull the ‘cat and track hawk out, it’s Tia & Tamera.” Unfortunately, it wasn’t Tamera’s favorite in the bunch, and she ranked Chief Keef’s song last.
5. Su’Lan — “Tia-Tamera”
As soon as this song began to play, Tamera was excited. It was obvious to the TV star that Su’Lan’s “Tia-Tamera” was a bop, but it still didn’t crack the 5th spot on this list. Created by the rap duo whose moniker is a split between the names “Su” and “Lan,” “Tia-Tamera” landed on their project of the same name. The har-hitting track paid homage to Old School Hip Hop productions, introducing the young femcees to new audiences.
It feels like we haven’t heard from Polo G in a while, so this nod from Tamera was refreshing for fans. “Distraction” arrived in 2022 on the rapper’s hit album with the same title, and on the track, Polo gets introspective. Here, he discusses his placement in the industry, being respected as an artist, and life on the streets. He raps: “Twin Glocks, Tia, Tamera, yeah, these my new b*tches / Hit they block with two switches, it make my shottas shoot different.”
3. J. Cole — “Cole Summer”
The most raunchy “Tia & Tamera” lyrics on this arrive courtesy of J. Cole. The big boss of Dreamville delivered Truly Yours 2 in 2013, and inside was “Cole Summer.” The tracks on this EP couldn’t squeeze themselves into the Born Sinner tracklist, and they’ve been held as fan favorites. In the song, Cole spices things up when he says: “If I had one wish, I would f*ck Tia and Tamera / At the same time and put name tags on they t*tties / So I don’t get they names wrong, screamin’ ‘Game on’ / Like Wayne’s World, that just came on.”
“Whole Lotta Money” was already making major waves for BIA, but the industry imploded when Nicki Minaj added her Rap legend voice to the track. The song’s viral sensation on TikTok helped rocket the song up the charts, and the collaboration is one of the most memorable of 2021. Further, the Queen rapper delivered the “Tia & Tamera” bars when she spit: “I just bent the block, all these b*tches wanna be ya / Prolly cause my waist gone, money long, Nia / Well, I ain’t talking cars, long hair, don’t KIA / In a twin seater, you Tamera? What’s Tia?“
The most recognizable Tia & Tamera track on this list appropriately landed in the top slot. In 2018, two of the most eclectic women in Rap collided in a colorful collaboration—”Tia Tamera.” Doja Cat added the fierce Rico Nasty to a single included in the Deluxe version of Amala, her debut studio album. Over the years, Tia and Tamera Mowry have repeatedly referenced this track, so it isn’t surprising that it took No. 1. The chorus rings: “Hair grow long like Chia / Money go long like Nia / I am the big idea / My twins big like Tia / My twins big like Tia, Tamera (Uh, wait) / Tia, Tamera (Uh, wait).“
Another day, another chapter in the Nicki Minaj and Latto beef saga, one that keeps on giving despite both femcee’s efforts to reach across the aisle to other female artists. Moreover, this time around, it stems from the latter’s bar about “auntie hatin’, she burnt” on a new snippet of an upcoming collab with Anycia. Of course, this is just fan speculation, as there’s no shortage of alleged shots between these two and this is just as vague as the last couple of examples die-hards theorized. Still, it inspired as much debate as ever on social media, and continues the sad trend of always putting female rappers in a battlefield in ways that we don’t often do with male MCs.
Regardless, what’s done is done, and this feud was actually pretty direct at one point, originating over discrepancies in categorizations for award nominations that involved personal criticism from one to the other. As such, we can’t really blame fans for looking for these connections between Latto and Nicki Minaj, and they’ve even roped in plenty of other artists. For example, people think that Ice Spice has a feud with the 777 hitmaker, although that’s even more speculative and rumored than the battle with the Barbz. Whether there’s any weight behind this or not, another typical and unfortunate thing about these matchups is that, when fans pick a side, it’s hard for artists not to beef because of how much their supporters are feeding the narrative, and that goes for any artist in these situations.
Nicki Minaj Might’ve Caught A Stray In New Snippet: Listen
However, many fans rightfully want folks to focus on the music instead, and to give Anycia her flowers for this snippet. In fact, she came through on Twitter to praise the “Grinch Freestyle” lyricist and her sister for the great times. “latto is such an amazing girl,” she wrote. “so sweet & down to earth. humble, selfless & very welcoming. love her down. prolly my favorite person i’ve met. brooke too. best pair of sisters. REAL girl girls!!!!” The song sounds great from what we’ve heard, so we look forward to hearing what else Anycia brings to the table.
Anycia Praises Latto
Meanwhile, what do you think about this whole debacle? How do you think these artists will look back on this spat? However you may feel, let us know in the comments down below. Also, stick around on HNHH for the latest news and updates on Latto and Nicki Minaj.
Just when you thought Latto had settled her beef with Nicki Minaj, it looks like she’s starting the new year with a renewed fire for roasting her nemesis.
Sharing a behind-the-scenes clip from a recent video shoot for “Back Outside,” the upcoming single from fellow Atlanta rapper Anycia, Latto has once again sparked speculation that she’s got words for her primary antagonist. In the clip, Latto and Anycia sit on the porch of a house rapping their verses while surrounded by supporters. Latto’s verse has perked up fans’ ears as she opens with a declaration that “I’m turnt / Got auntie mad, she burnt.”
Naturally, plenty of fans have jumped to the conclusion that “auntie” refers to Nicki Minaj, with whom Latto had a rather loud spat in 2022. The “Put It On Da Floor” rapper snapped on her onetime hero after Nicki complained about being placed in a “pop” category for the next year’s Grammy Awards. When Nicki said Latto’s hit “Big Energy” belonged in the pop category too, Latto accused the elder rapper of being a “bully,” pointing out that not only is Nicki the same age as Latto’s mom, but she also spent a year shading the younger rapper.
this beef would be so fun if the person she was going against had bars https://t.co/8D3ytZmRrZ
The same people in the comments mad were the same people who were gagging over “latto you’s a chop ho” and “you not even a fart” i can’t take yall serious https://t.co/SeDDoTVLMf
Nicki clapped back, calling Latto a “Karen” — which, are we sure she knows what that’s supposed to mean? — and earning some “this you?”-style tweets from observers in the process. Things appeared to have cooled off until Coachella, when Latto debuted “Put It On Da Floor,” on which she raps, “She thought I would kiss her ass, she must ain’t took her meds.”
All of this is to say that, yes, Latto very probably is referring to Nicki with her “Back Outside” verse, as she doesn’t seem to be finished dragging the queen for trying to downplay her success.
