Black Thought Announces New Album

Black Thought is still fresh off the release of his album from last year, Cheat Codes. The 12-track project finds him teaming up with eclectic producer Danger Mouse.

Boasting features from the likes of Raekwon, A$AP Rocky, Run The Jewels and more, it was certainly one of the better hip-hop albums of 2022. Additionally, it contains a posthumous feature from MF DOOM.

Regardless, The Roots rapper is showing no signs of slowing down. The announcement that he’ll be dropping another new album soon came on Wednesday (January 11).

Titled Glorious Game, the new project is set to release on April 14. Along with the announcement, he subsequently dropped its lead single, “Grateful.” “They play the avenue of Amsterdam / With other pickpocketin’ thieves and gamblin’ men / And they just come at all the noodles, where resistance is futal / Business as usual, it’ll blow out your wigs like french poodles,” raps the 51-year-old in the new track.

Glorious Game will find the Philadelphia native teaming up with El Michels Affair for its entirety. Led by Leon Michels, the band is a cinematic soul group. Michels himself plays tenor saxophone, flute, keyboards, guitar, bass and percussion. Some of their other members include Homer Steinweiss, Nick Movshon and Thomas Brenneck.

El Michels Affair is best known for their 2009 LP, Enter The 37th Chamber, which is a live album that pays homage to the Wu-Tang Clan and their Enter The Wu-Tang (36 Chambers) album from 1993.

Chiiild Enlists Lucky Daye For “Good For Now”

Chiiild is preparing for the release of his forthcoming album in April. Today, he blessed fans with a new single.

Chiiild teams up with Lucky Daye for their ultra-smooth collaboration, “Good For Now.” The laidback record further explores the chemistry the two parties built on Lucky Daye’s “Compassion.” The atmospheric feel and hypnotizing vocals provide strong insight into what we could expect from Chiiild’s next project.

“Sometimes we get caught up in the feelings and start thinking about the future with the hope that the feeling lasts,” Chiiild said in a statement. “This song is a reminder that whatever happens, we should be present in the moment because we don’t know what tomorrow brings.”

Following the release of his latest three singles, it seems like Chiiild is on pace to have one of the strongest R&B releases of the year with Better Luck In The Next Life.

When you’re close, I get reckless

Trippie Redd Teases Travis Scott, Chief Keef Collabs

It looks like Trippie Redd is gearing up to kick off 2023 in an exciting way. Over the past couple of days, the “Miss The Rage” rapper has been taking to his social media accounts to tease new music.

After sharing upcoming collaborations and snippets of a few songs, he may even be preparing to drop a new album.

It all began when the 23-year-old posted to his Instagram Story on Monday (January 9). “The Dark Knight Returns…. #MM,” he writes, before sharing a screenshot of a conversation with Travis Scott.

In the exchange, Trippie says he needs the ASTROWORLD rapper’s verse back before Friday. “Yeaaaa engineer should be sending it back in like [an] hour,” writes Scott.

Of course, the duo’s first collaboration is 2017’s energetic “Dark Knight Dummo.” It’s unclear at this time whether or not the new track they’re teasing will be part two, or an entirely new concept.

Furthermore, a snippet of the Ohio native filming a music video with Chief Keef is also circulating on social media.

Furthermore, according to a tweet from Kurrco, Trippie and his team may be responsible for already uploading the alleged new album to the backend of streaming services. “Trippie Redd’s upcoming #MM project will feature Juice WRLD, Future, Travis Scott, Lil Baby, Chief Keef, Summrs, Lil B, Rich The Kid, Rob49 & more,” reads the tweet.

At this point, 2021’s Trip At Knight serves as his most recent full-length offering. The 18-track album boasts features from the likes of Drake, Lil Uzi Vert, Ski Mask The Slump God and others. However, it certainly seems as though he’ll be dropping something else very soon.

Chloë Bailey Discusses Her Upcoming Album

Chloë Bailey recently sat down with Complex to discuss her upcoming album in an interview published on Monday. The project will be her official debut solo studio album.

As for what lessons she’s learned during the making of the project, she told the outlet: “The biggest lesson I’ve learned has been to trust my gut and to trust the timing.”

Thus far, Chloë has released several singles that could end up making the tracklist. She says that her relationship with Gunna inspired her latest song, “For The Night,” a collaboration with Latto.

“Every single song on that project stems from my own experiences,” she explained before adding, “‘Have Mercy’ stemmed from my being sad. I was responding to haters. That is where that song came from. The single ‘Treat Me’ came from reminding myself that if there is something I want out of a man, I have to give it to myself first.”

Chloë further continued: “The song ‘Surprise’ came from, you know—it’s OK to feel a little sexy sometimes. I let that side come out of me with those lyrics. Now, I have released ‘For the Night.’ Every song I have is personal. It has been so much fun collaborating with such incredible song makers. I am happy people are getting more and more of me.”

While she didn’t give away any other collaborations to expect on the project, Chloë says there’s still a lot more to be revealed.

“Yes, absolutely!” she said. “There are a lot of exciting features and collaborations to look forward to. I cannot wait to say more and put it into the world.”

Moneybagg Yo Teases New Album & GloRilla Collaboration

Moneybagg Yo is undeniably a household name in the South’s booming hip-hop scene. Beyond that though, he’s also quickly becoming one of the game’s most reliable rappers for hard-hitting bars and storytelling.

Backed by a few highly successful singles in recent years, the 31-year-old is evidently looking to keep his momentum going.

On Sunday (January 8), the Memphis native took to his social media accounts to begin teasing his new album. “My Album Is A Heartless Edition Hope Y’all Ready,” he writes in a tweet.

Furthermore, his Instagram account shares a little bit more information surrounding the upcoming release. “22songs[,] Who Y’all Think Features??” the “Me Vs Me” rapper writes in the caption. The second photo in the post is assumedly the album cover.

Additionally, he’s teasing a new collaboration with one of the hottest rappers in the game right now, GloRilla. In the clip, the two Memphis artists are seen turning up to a snippet of their unreleased track together. It appears as though they’ll be exchanging verses, going back and forth over the booming production.

Although he’s been busy dropping singles, music videos and feature verses, Moneybagg Yo’s last album is 2021’s A Gangsta’s Pain. Backed by singles like “Wockesha” and “Time Today,” the project successfully catapulted the 31-year-old into new heights of success.

Yo Gotti officially signed the Memphis native to his label, Collective Music Group (CMG), in 2016. In July of last year, the “Rake It Up” rapper also quickly signed GloRilla to the label. This was shortly following the viral success of her hit song, “F.N.F. (Let’s Go).”

Both signees appear on the label’s first collaborative mixtape together, Gangsta Art, which showcases the depth of their rosters’ talents.

Logic Announces New Album, “College Park,” Out Next Month

Logic has announced that his next album will be titled College Park and is releasing next month. The project will see Logic collaborate with a star-studded group including Joey Bada$$, RZA, Redman, and more.

The full list of features includes Bun B, Statik Selektah, Fat Trel, Norah Jones, Phil Ade, Seth MacFarlane, Lucy Rose, Andy Hull, Big Lenbo, and Jordan Harris, as well as Lil Keke.

Logic made the announcement during an animated video shared on Monday. In the piece, Logic reflects on the days of wishing he was like rappers Kendrick Lamar, Lupe Fiasco, and Jay-Z.

College Park is set to arrive less than one year after Logic’s last record, Vinyl Days. The project, which was his final with Def Jam, debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200.

After that album’s release, Logic spoke with NPR about reaching this point in his career, as well as where he goes from here.

“I’ve really amassed such an incredible fan base,” he said. “I’ve been blessed to make the right moves as a businessman. Financially, there’s nothing I need from the music industry anymore. I’ve hit every pinnacle except winning a Grammy, I’ve done that. I’ve been to the awards shows, I’ve won awards, I’ve sold out Madison Square Garden.”

He added: “I would rather have amassed the financial stability that I have, take a U-turn, and make music that maybe isn’t so popular and take a quote/unquote ‘dive’ in my career on purpose – to go out on a stage happy and proud of what I’m doing. I’d rather be hated for who I am than loved for who I’m not.”

Homeboy Sandman Drops Ethereal Album, “12 Days Of Christmas & Día De Los Reyes”

Queens rapper Homeboy Sandman just released 12 Days of Christmas & Día de Los Reyes, his new holiday project. Well, kind of: the theme may be based around Christmastime, but it’s still the same abstract word wizardry you’ve come to expect from him. Moreover, he dropped a single from this album every day leading up to its release starting on December 25th. With tracks like “Eighth Day of Christmas,” he built a concise and laidback collection of interesting beats and flows.

Each track corresponds to a “day of Christmas”: the first, second, and so on. However, wrapping up the tracklist is “Día de Los Reyes,” referring to the Christian holiday on January 6th. Moreover, it’s a nod to Homeboy’s Dominican and Puerto Rican heritage. Three Kings’ Day, as it’s known in English, is big in Latin America. So, with that in mind, the 42-year-old gave fans great hip-hop wrapped in a cultural history lesson waiting to be unearthed. Still, even with that extra layer, his style and delivery is too skillful to ignore.

On that note of great hip-hop, the instrumental variety is rich on here despite its narrow theme. While Sandman doesn’t focus on overtly holiday-related topics, each song could be a gift to fans of abstract styles of rap. “Second Day of Christmas,” for example, features a heavy guitar-based beat that slams through the speakers. Meanwhile, the very next track “Third Day of Christmas” is a Madlib-like collection of bustling drums and a heady and sprawling verse. Also, he displays a similar creativity on his album with the Oakstop Alliance, Royalty Summit.

Still, what did you think of Homeboy Sandman’s latest album, 12 Days of Christmas & Día de Los Reyes? Whatever the case, let us know in the comments down below. Also, you can check out the project’s tracklist down there as well. Moreover, as always, stay posted to HNHH for more creative releases in the hip-hop realm and beyond.

NBA YoungBoy Embraces The Rage On New Song “Black”

Youngboy is still on his grind, and he quickly reminded us of that as we entered the new year. NBA YoungBoy just dropped his latest album, I Rest My Case, on which the opening track “Black” is a standout. Moreover, accompanied by an energetic music video, it’s Youngboy’s foray into rage music à la Playboi Carti or Yeat.

Still, it’s not his first attempt at buzzy synths, distorted bass, and a high-pitched drawl delivery. In fact, the Louisiana rapper experiments with the rage genre on a couple of tracks from I Rest My Case. Moreover, the next couple of songs in the tracklist also go in that sonic direction. Namely, these are tracks like “Louie V,” “Swag On Point,” and “B***h Yeah.” If you’ve been looking for a different direction from YB, now’s the time to check I Rest My Case out.

However, if you’re still a die-hard for the 23-year-old’s sound, “Black” carries over a lot of similarities to his most popular work. Moreover, the energy and aggression are still palpable, and his higher pitch doesn’t distract from his rapid-fire flows. Still, it’s not surprising to see YB in this rage lane. His Gangsta Grillz tape Ma’ I Got A Family featured Yeat on the track “I Don’t Text Back.”

Meanwhile, some fans caught YB while he was filming the music video for “Black.” It was a crazy moment for fans, as the Top rapper engaged them with a snowball fight. Also, if you peep the video, you can see these crowds around the rapper in a few shots.

Still, what did you think of NBA YoungBoy’s rage-tinged album cut “Black” from I Rest My Case? Whatever the case, let us know in the comments down below. Also, you can peep some standout bars and the music video down there as well. As always, stay logged in to HNHH for the latest greatness from the rap game.

NBA YoungBoy Debuts Latest Album “I Rest My Case”

After debuting a consistent list of projects in the past year, NBA YoungBoy is bringing more heat with I Rest My Case. Coming mere weeks after his Lost Files mixtape, the rapper’s first album of 2023 contains just under 20 songs with zero features.

After originally signing to Atlantic Records, NBA YoungBoy is now with Motown Records, making I Rest My Case his first project released under the label, Billboard reported.

NBA YoungBoy has been enjoying an impressive stride in his music career. Following the release of 3800 Degreez, The Last Slimeto, his Quando Rondo collab 3860, and more, quickly climbed the charts last year while dropping several hit albums and singles.

He also became one of the most streamed U.S. artists in 2022, a testament to the “Make No Sense” rapper’s dedicated fanbase.

NBA YoungBoy Gearing Up To Drop First Album Of 2023 This Friday

NBA YoungBoy was undeniably one of the most active rappers of the year in 2022. Successfully dropping eight tapes over the past 12 months, the 23-year-old was all over everyone’s playlists.

It seems as though he has his eyes on continuing this trend in 2023 as well.

According to reports from Billboard, the Baton Rouge native will celebrate the first week of the new year by releasing his first offering of 2023. The album is titled I Rest My Case.

The official album cover is circulating on social media in anticipation of its arrival on streaming services on Friday (January 6).

Furthermore, the project will serve as YoungBoy’s first under his new label, Motown Records. He signed the deal in October last year and reports indicated that it would go into effect in 2023.

Following this news, the “Make No Sense” rapper claimed to be turning down large sums of money for potential tours. “I done found time for myself. Every $15 million tour come my way getting turned down. I don’t wanna do no show. I don’t want nothing but a bigger house. It gave me time for myself. My daughter know who I am, b*tch, I know who I am,” he flexes in the Instagram video.

The final of the aforementioned eight albums he released in 2022, was the 21-track Lost Files. Among the other seven are two joint projects with other rappers. The first of which is BETTER THAN YOU with Da Baby. The latter, released in November, is 3860 with Quando Rondo.

It will certainly be interesting to see how many more projects he drops off this year.
