Lil Durk Hints At Switching It Up On Next Album

Lil Durk has fans awaiting new music. Though he left fans with enough tunes in 2022 to hold us over until the end of the year, the rapper still has more heat in the cut. Over the past few weeks, he’s ramped up anticipation for his next body of work. However, he never provided a concrete plan to release it. For all we know, he’s still cooking up the project and it might not see a release date until later this year. Regardless, he’s letting fans know that he’s putting in work in the studio.

Over the past few weeks, he’s ramped up anticipation for the project on numerous occasions. Last Saturday, he abruptly announced that his project would drop at midnight. However, he didn’t follow through with that promise as fans refreshed their streaming platform of choice in hopes that a new album from Lil Durk would appear. He never really addressed the false announcement, though he continued to promise fans that the project would arrive soon.

Lil Durk Shares Promising Update On Next Album

Lil Durk continues to build fans up for the release of his next studio album. This weekend, the Chicago rapper hit the ‘Gram where he provided a brief update on what to expect. Though many fans criticized Durk in recent times for playing it safe sonically, he suggested that what he has up his sleeves will catch fans off guard. “This album ain’t a regular,” he wrote on Instagram along with a photo of himself on stage, though he didn’t elaborate beyond that.

Durk announced a few projects over the years that have yet to see the light of day. For one, he and Metro Boomin have hinted at the release of No Auto Durk, though neither have shared an update on it recently. However, there have also been rumors in recent months that he and Future are working on a joint effort. Following the success of “Mad Max,” several reports emerged indicating that they were working on a joint mixtape together. No word from either party on whether this is true but given their track record, it’s something that the people need.

Lil Durk Says Upcoming Album Isn’t “Regular”

Even after a huge year in 2022, Lil Durk still has more in the tank this year. Last year, Durk unleashed a studio album, a deluxe version, and then a compilation album for this label. First, March saw him put out his seventh studio album 7220. With 17 songs, the LP was Durk’s first solo project since 2020s The Voice. Soon after, he dropped the “Reloaded” version, adding just one new track titled “Computer Murderers.” However, a few months later would see an actual fully fleshed deluxe rendition of 7220. With features from Moneybagg Yo, EST Gee, A Boogie wit da Hoodie and more, the 7220 deluxe was just as thrilling as the original version.

In December, Durk would end up contributing eight new songs to the Loyal Bros 2 project. A compilation tape for his OTF label, the project contained 23 songs and lasted 57 minutes. Among the songs he delivered, Durk provided “Mad Mad” with Future and solo cuts like “Set It Off” and “Hanging With Wolves.” Undoubtedly, 2022 would go down as one of the biggest of Durk’s career. But, he knew right away to start 2023 that he still had more to achieve.

Lil Durk Prepares For A Big Year

In the first two months of the year, Durk has teased quite a bit of new music. A few times last year, he referenced a potential collaborative album with producer Metro Boomin. While a rollout has still not officially materialized, it certainly could any day now. Additionally, the Chicago icon has prepped fans for an impending solo album, as well as hinting towards a joint project with Future. The week Durk and Future filmed the music video for “Mad Max,” his tour DJ posted an Instagram story saying “the culture need(s) this” in reference to a joint album. Additionally, on Feb. 18, out of nowhere, Durk claimed he was going to drop an album that night but ultimately decided not to.

Most recently, though, Durk hinted again towards his solo effort. On Feb. 26, he posted an Instagram story saying, “This album ain’t a regular.” Still, without an official track list or release date, it seems Durk is ready to deliver some quality output very soon. In an interview with Spotify’s RapCaviar at the start of February, Lil Durk said his fans can expect his 2023 to be eventful and exciting. “(They can expect me to) be out more and just have more fun, living more,” he said. “I just want to start working on my performances more, everything. Giving it my all and be 100% instead of 50(%). We got a whole bunch of sh*t comin’. That’s why I’m excited.” So, whatever Durk plans to do next, it will surely be noteworthy.

Young Nudy Teases Upcoming Album With Cover And Track List

Atlanta rapper Young Nudy took to Instagram yesterday (February 23rd) to announce the release date of his upcoming album, Gumbo. The 13-track album will be dropping on February 28th and features his cousin, 21 Savage, as well as Key Glock. The 30-year-old artist also revealed the cover art and tracklist for Gumbo in his post, captioned, “[G]UMBO February #28 #NUN #TO #DO.”

As insinuated by the shrimp and mushroom emoji in the post’s caption, Gumbo‘s tracklist is fully inspired by different foods. With songs named “Duck Meat,” “McChicken,” and “Portabella,” Nudy has channeled his appetite for success into his newest project. After releasing “Loaded Baked Potato” and “Barbecue” in his album Nudy Land, the rapper has earned a reputation for naming his tracks after snacks. However, Gumbo is his first project fully dedicated to food names. The post also revealed the album’s cover art, which stylistically features a red dinner table outfitted with plates of the song titles, a gun, and a stack of bills. In the center of the table setting is a statue of a snake, hungrily gazing over a bowl of gumbo.

Young Nudy’s Food-Inspired Album Drops February 28th

Nudy released his vibey mixtape EA Monster last year, which also featured a few tracks boasting a food-inspired name. “KitKat” and “Lunch Meat” fall alongside tracks like “Impala” and “Nun To Do.” The resulting project is the 11-song collection that earned Nudy a loyal following. Right now, Nudy is set to embark on an 8-week tour presented by Rolling Loud, which will include a set at the California festival.

After the announcement of Gumbo, fans excitedly took to Twitter to share their enthusiasm. Many were quick to note the humorous song titles, with one user writing, “every song is titled after food, we’re getting a classic.” Others simply displayed their excitement for the artist’s commitment to new music, with appreciation over the album cover. “Still never missed on an album cover,” one user mentioned, while another added, “nudy always has a dope cover.” Be sure to check out more Twitter reactions at the end of this article. Yeat Enlists NBA YoungBoy On New 22-Track Project “AftërLyfe”

Yeat is one of the most interesting artists in hip-hop right now. Overall, he is an artist who is known for his insane flow. Half the time, it is hard to discern what Yeat is even saying. In fact, he is one of those artists who has created his own language. Subsequently, Yeat-isms have completely taken over his music, and it has led to a cult fanbase that absolutely adores his music. His success has catapulted him into a social media sensation, and he continues to showcase growth with each new release.

After teasing a new album just a few weeks ago, Yeat dropped his latest project, AftërLyfe on Friday. In typical Yeat fashion, he decided to come through with a hefty body of work. Clocking in at over an hour long with 22 tracks, there is no doubt that this is quite a bit of music. However, fans will certainly be thanking him for the surplus of music as there is a lot to sink your teeth into here.

Yeat Goes Off With AftërLyfe

In the past, the artist has kept his features to a minimum, and that is certainly the case here. Although, we do get a great YoungBoy feature on the second track, dubbed “Shmunk.” Overall, this is album is filled to the brim with bangers. Dark and brooding production is mixed with menacing flows that showcase just how focused Yeat can sound. There are also some nice changes in pace throughout the project. For instance, the song “Nun id change” is unlike anything Yeat has ever released.

If you are already a fan of the artist, you will probably enjoy this quite a bit. Even if you are embarking on a Yeat project for the first time, there is definitely something here that will impress you. Hopefully, we get even more Yeat music in the not-so-distant future. Stream that album, and let us know what you think, in the comments below.

Tracklist:

LL Cool J Backtracks After Claiming He’s Shelving Q-Tip-Produced Album

LL Cool J just graced the stage at the Grammys, holding down hosting duties during the Hip-Hop 50 tribute set. The concert brought forth the OGs and pioneers with the new generation of artists to emerge. Who would’ve thought they’d ever see Grandmaster Mele Mel & Scorpio/Ethiopian King and Lil Uzi Vert on the same stage? Ultimately, it showcased the power of hip-hop 50 years after its inception as a block party in the Bronx. Coming off of the momentum of the performance, LL Cool J began ramping up the efforts for his next studio album

The comeback album has been in the works for a few years with Q-Tip at the helm of production. The two began working on the project in 2020 but following the Grammys, LL Cool J provided a promising update. “I know all the tricks. I got this covered,” he said during an interview on the Grammys red carpet. “Look, it was executive produced by Q-Tip. The album I think is really, really special. I think it’s something it’s modern without chasing. It’s a whole new thing. I can’t wait for the people to see it.”

LL Cool J Cancels Then Backtracks

This morning, LL Cool J startled fans when he announced that the project wouldn’t drop. He shared three tweets where he stated that he won’t release the project. “Just not feeling like this album is worthy of being released [face palm emoji] I tried… Not dropping it,” he wrote after claiming that he’s working relentlessly to put the album out. It seemed odd, especially with Q-Tip’s involvement, that the project wasn’t to his liking.

Ultimately, he deleted the tweets and it seems that he was either trolling or Q-Tip convinced him to backtrack. LL hit the ‘Gram with another video where he explained the reason why he didn’t want to drop the project. “I was considering not putting the record out because… IT’S TOO FUCKIN’ GOOD,” he said with a laugh. “Q-Tip, you a genius, baby!” He added that it’s his favorite album that he’s ever made before confirming that he’ll be dropping a release date and tracklist soon. Who do you think will land on the project? Sound off in the comments.

6LACK Announces Long-Awaited Third Album, “S.I.H.A.L.”

6LACK just unorthodoxly announced his next album, presumably titled S.I.H.A.L., set for release in March of this year. Moreover, it’s been a long time since he’s dropped a full-length, which he seemed to acknowledge. While he didn’t completely disappear from releases, he took some creative moves to promote his return. For example, he took the Kendrick route of including a Dropbox-like folder on his Instagram with his third album, albeit password-protected. Overall, it seems like the Atlanta-based artist is prepping fans for a big return.

Also, he engaged in another creative promotional campaign on Valentine’s Day just a few days ago. In fact, he enlisted the help of Atlanta’s Water Boyz and turned them to the Flower Boyz (no diss to Tyler). Moreover, they went around the city and handed out roses to people on the streets or going about their day. With the rose, they delivered a note that read, “See you soon, Love 6LACK.” Actually, it’s quite wholesome and entertaining to see people’s reactions, as some know who he is while others are confused. In addition to his vague promotion on his website (and his label website indicating the March release date), it seems much more personal than the typical rollout.

6LACK Teases New Album In Atlanta

Furthermore, not much else is known about the album apart from those details. Moreover, the album title S.I.H.A.L. comes from promotional material of the Valentine’s Day flower giveaway on his Twitter page. However, it should be noted that other publications reported the album title to be S.I.H.L., so even the details we do know are a bit murky. Still, this will be 6LACK’s first album since 2018’s East Atlanta Love Letter. That project came out two years after his critically acclaimed debut, Free 6LACK.

Meanwhile, if you’re looking for recent jams to hold you over, he recently collaborated with Jacquees and Summer Walker on the former’s “Tell Me It’s Over.” Also, he appeared on the Christmastime R&B superstar project, Home For The Holidays 2 alongside dvsn, Summer, and more. Overall, fans are finally getting new music from a beloved and accomplished crooner after five years. With that in mind, stick around on HNHH for the latest on 6LACK and his comeback album.

Chlöe Shares Trailer For New Album “In Pieces”

Chlöe just shared a new trailer for her upcoming debut album In Pieces, dropping on March 31st this year. Moreover, this comes after news of the album’s completion and after she shared much excitement for it. “I turned in the album!!!” she shared to Instagram a couple of days ago. “Been crying tears of joy. 3 years in the making. can’t wait for y’all to hear … SOON!!!” With this newest post, the singer hinted at the project’s themes and aesthetic direction. Overall, it seems like the Bailey sister will bring a grand, lush, and personal statement to her fans.

“IN PIECES 3.31.23,” she captioned her post with a heart emoji (the real thing, not the pure red emoji). “My tears are like the water. my heart is like the sun. through chaos, beauty grows. there’s power in my pain,” she added. Furthermore, the short clip features a song snippet, album title, and release date. In the video, Chlöe stands in underwear inside a glass case. While posing and showing off her body and red locks, she stands among flowers, vines, and fallen leaves. As the video closes out, she sheds a tear and the glass case cracks. Also, the song snippet features gorgeous harmonized and manipulated vocals, a lumbering beat, and some distorted synthesizers.

“In Pieces” Collabs Catch Heat

Even though this is exciting news for any R&B fan, her rollout fell victim to some criticism as well. Most of it stems from the announcement of a Chris Brown collab set to drop later this week. Furthermore, many fans expressed disappointment at the 24-year-old working with a historically abusive artist. In fact, backlash to the team-up garnered such outrage that Chris Brown engaged in a lengthy Instagram rant calling out his haters.

While Chlöe hasn’t said much about that situation, she did recently clap back at claims that she Photoshopped performance pictures. “I love you too,” she replied to the a commenter who expressed doubt. “It’s the combo of a corset, latex, and the lower angle. I love my body when I have extra weight on me. I love my body when I get snatched because I’m dancing a lot. The videos match. Y’know I love editing but I’ve been working hard on my body. I take that as a compliment, thank you.” However you take the situation, let us know in the comments if you’re also excited for In Pieces. Also, check out the trailer below and stay tuned to HNHH for the latest on Chlöe.

Kehlani Teases New Album With Sexy Photos

Just after completing their Blue Water Road Trip tour, Kehlani took to Insta on Sunday (February 19) to announce an upcoming album underway. The post included a series of sexy (and revealing) photos, with the first slide showing off their gorgeously tatted backside. Captured in the Philippines, the 27-year-old singer poses confidently for the moody photoshoot which teases fans in more ways than one. Kehlani, whose debut studio album SweetSexySavage was released back in 2017, hinted at a “2.0” to the project that initially put them on the map as an R&B artist.

The 17-track project previously ranked on Billboard’s “20 Best R&B Albums of 2017.” “Gangsta,” “Undercover,” and “Everything Is Yours” are among the album’s standout titles. Since the release of SSS, Kehlani has been consistent with showing off their versatile musicality. Following their big debut, they released 2 albums, a mixtape, and a variety of singles. Most recently, Blue Water Road earned the Californian singer recognition for tracks like “up at night” (featuring Justin Bieber) and “wish i never.” Overall, their most recent project reflected a soulful interpretation of Kehlani’s life, and put their uniquely melodious vocals under the spotlight.

Kehlani Hints At SweetSexySavage 2.0

Needless to say, it comes as no surprise that fans are craving a SSS 2.0 release. Many took to Twitter to express their excitement, with one Twitter user sharing, “They said this is their SweetSexySavage 2.0 era and I’m so excited. that’s my favorite album from Kehlani,” and another ecstatically tweeting, “NO FUCKING WAY? SWEETSEXYSAVAGE 2.0?!? KEHLANI I’M GONNA CRYFSHEATEU.” Even with Kehlani’s various musical contributions over the past 5 years, their debut album still holds power amongst listeners.

Fans were also quick to point out Kehlani’s hot new look. As revealed in their initial post, the vocalist is rocking newly chopped hair dyed to an incredibly flattering burgundy. The photoshoot accompanying her SSS 2.0 teaser was shot by Mía André, who brilliantly played with lights and shadows to showcase Kehlani’s fresh look. The singer-songwriter is certainly ready for a SSS 2.0 era, which we imagine will be filled with unfiltered lyrics, raw emotions, and her angelic voice!
