Shawn Kemp Reportedly Acted In Self-Defense, Police Audio Surfaces Online

Shawn Kemp has been hit with a massive controversy as of late. Yesterday, he was arrested in Tacoma, Washington after an alleged drive-by shooting. Overall, this is a story that immediately sent shockwaves throughout the NBA world. Following the Ja Morant news, NBA fans were simply shocked to see this go down with a legend like Kemp. Although, there are still plenty of details that we are not aware of yet. This is very much a developing story with many moving parts that are being pieced together every single hour.

According to TMZ, Kemp was trying to get back some stolen goods that were allegedly taken on Tuesday. On Wednesday, Kemp went to confront the alleged perpetrators, which then led to the alleged incident. In a video that was taken by a witness, Kemp could be seen driving off and throwing his gun into a bush. Subsequently, he found the police and immediately began talking to them as he wanted the authorities to track down the other half of the altercation. Eventually, he was arrested and booked on a felony drive-by shooting charge.

Police Audio

Now, TMZ has police audio from the situation. As you can hear above, the police say, “two subjects firing shots at each other.” Moreover, it was made clear following the incident that Kemp shot his gun over five times. However, it is also now being reported that Kemp allegedly acted in self-defense. As the story goes, when Kemp approached the vehicle to get his stuff back, the alleged perpetrators shot at him. This subsequently prompted Kemp to act in self-defense. No one was hurt during the incident, and as it stands, all claims are being investigated by the authorities.

Overall, this is just an unfortunate and bizarre situation. Almost a day later, the entire thing still seems quite shocking. Fans have taken to social media with their reactions, and for the most part, the reactions have been filled with memes. Regardless, this is a developing story that will be receiving numerous updates over the coming days. That said, stay tuned to HNHH to keep yourself informed. Stephen A. Smith Hits Suns With Reality Check After KD Injury

Stephen A. Smith has had a lot to talk about as it pertains to the NBA world over these past few weeks. Overall, a lot has happened. This is particularly true as it pertains to the Phoenix Suns. They recently traded for Kevin Durant, who is 3-0 during his time with the team. Additionally, yesterday was supposed to be a joyous occasion for the team as they were playing the Oklahoma City Thunder at home. This was going to be KD’s first home game with the team. The fans were excited about the match, and the atmosphere in the arena was palpable.

Unfortunately, things went left before the game as KD injured his left ankle. He slipped on the court and subsequently missed the entirety of the game. Moreover, it was reported that his injury could end up keeping him out for the rest of the season. This would even extend to the first round of the playoffs. It is an absolutely brutal situation that could derail the Suns’ season. As Stephen A. explained today, this has a huge effect on the Suns’ ability to win a title.

Stephen A. Speaks

“There are no title aspirations that are reasonable for the Phoenix Suns without Kevin Durant,” Stephen A. said. “If he ain’t there, they don’t have a snowball’s chance in hell.” Needless to say, the First Take host does not have very much faith in this team, beyond Kevin Durant. Ultimately, this is a fair assessment when you realize how this team has no depth once you take KD out of the equation. Of course, this is because the team traded all of its depth in order to acquire the superstar.

KD is one of the best players in the league, and when you lose him, it is incredibly hard to win. You just have to ask the Brooklyn Nets and they will confirm this to be true. Hopefully, he is able to return to the court a lot sooner than some have theorized. Let us know what you think of Smith’s take on the matter, in the comments below. Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for the latest news and updates from the sports world.

Draymond Green Destroys Dillon Brooks With Brutal Comeback: Watch

Draymond Green is a player that has certainly attracted some negative attention in the past. Overall, he isn’t exactly the most popular player in the NBA. A lot of guys don’t care for how he plays, and they certainly don’t care for his trash talk. However, he is a player with four NBA titles to his name, so it is very hard to speak ill of him. That said, Dillon Brooks did just that during a recent interview with ESPN. As you will see, his comments were less than complimentary.

“I don’t like Draymond at all,” Brooks told ESPN. “I just don’t like Golden State. Don’t like anything to do with them. Draymond talks a lot. Gets away with a lot, too. His game is cool—with Golden State—but if you put him anywhere else, you’re not going to know who Draymond is. He plays with heart, plays hard, knows the ins and outs of their defense. I guess that’s why they like him over there.”

Draymond Green Vs. Dillon Brooks

Subsequently, Green hopped on his podcast and laced into the Memphis Grizzlies star. Overall, he was unrelenting in his roast session of the Canadian. As you can see up above, he basically said the Grizzlies can’t win a title with him on the roster. Moreover, he put Brooks’ basketball knowledge into question. “If you ever wondered why the Memphis Grizzlies is not ready to compete for a championship, look no further than this idiot right here,” Green said. “They’re actually depending on this guy to help them win a championship. And he says his game is cool. Quite frankly, that just shows how little you know about basketball. … Your level of understanding the game of basketball is at a fan level.”

This was an absolutely brutal takedown of Brooks that has a lot of NBA fans excited. Brooks has become extremely unlikeable, even compared to Green. That said, the next Grizzlies and Warriors game should be very interesting. Hopefully, these two go at each other in an intense, yet very competitive way. Let us know what you think of this new rivalry, in the comments down below.

LeBron James Accused Of PED Use By Chael Sonnen

LeBron James is someone who continues to be at the pinnacle of his sport. Overall, LeBron is still one of the best players in the entire NBA, despite being 38 years old. At this point in his career, fans thought that he would become washed. However, he has proven people wrong thanks to his 30-points-per-game average. Although he has gone through some injury issues of late, there is no doubt that he can be a top-15 player on any given night. It is truly impressive, and it is beyond anything we have ever seen before.

That said, there are a lot of people out there who have suggested that James could be on PEDs. For those not in the know, PED stands for Performance Enhancing Drugs. This is a broad term for any kind of cocktail of drugs that can boost testosterone or other important hormones. While LeBron has been accused of PED use, there has never been any evidence that he takes them. In fact, these accusations always come across as pure jealousy and are pretty baseless.

LeBron Hit With Chael Sonnen Accusation

This week, James was hit with another accusation of PED use, this time by former UFC fighter Chael Sonnen. In fact, Sonnen was on Flagrant 2 with Andrew Schultz, where he claimed to have the same PED guy as LeBron. This means that they allegedly get their drugs from the same person. Overall, this is a claim that Sonnen has made in the past. Although, he has never actually given concrete proof of this. Either way, Schultz was fascinated by the assertion, and it led to some discourse about PEDs in the sports world.

The NBA is a league that does random drug tests on its players and very rarely does anyone get hit with a positive test. After all, the NBA is a far cry from baseball where it feels like a superstar is being hit with a PED suspension every single season. Regardless, Sonnen has people talking, and we’re sure LeBron does not appreciate it. Let us know what you think of the MMA star’s comments, down below.

Kevin Durant Suffers Brutal Injury Due To Freak Accident

Kevin Durant has had an incredible start to his time with the Phoenix Suns. Overall, Durant and the Suns are 3-0 when KD plays and they definitely look like the best team in the league. However, the Suns are a franchise that is extremely cursed. Whenever it seems like they are about to win a title, something happens that completely derails them. In 1993, they had to face MJ. In the 2000s, they ran into rigged officiating. Finally, in 2021, they ran into Giannis. Needless to say, they are a team that is mired in all sorts of bad luck.

Last night, the Suns were looking to take on the Oklahoma City Thunder. This was supposed to be Durant’s very first game with the Suns at home. Consequently, the atmosphere was sensational as fans just wanted a glimpse at KD. Unfortunately, their hopes turned into a nightmare very quickly. This is because Durant tweaked his ankle in warmup after slipping on the court. In the video below, you can see how KD’s ankle bends at a 90-degree angle. It looks truly awful, and although Durant continued his warmup, he ended up skipping the game.

Kevin Durant Falls

Despite Durant’s absence, the Suns went on to pulverize the Thunder by a score of 132-101. Devin Booker was sensational during the match, and he willed the Suns to a win. However, all of the attention has remained on KD and the injury issues he is facing. According to the local outlet AZ Central, Durant may very well have a grade 2 sprain. This means the superstar could miss the rest of the regular season. Furthermore, there is even a worst-case scenario in which he is not able to start the playoffs.

If this happens to be the case, then the Suns’ curse has to be a real thing. There is no way one single franchise can carry forth all of this bad luck. However, they still have a very solid core, which means they shouldn’t fall out of the playoffs, anytime soon. Hopefully, KD is able to come back stronger than ever. Stay tuned to HNHH for the latest news and updates from around the sports world.

Ja Morant Finally Gets Some Good News

Ja Morant has been hit with nothing but negative press over the last week or so. Overall, this press has been deserved due to his actions off the court. For instance, he was seen brandishing a gun on Instagram Live, which is a big no-no. Moreover, Morant had been accused of uttering threats at a teenager, as well as a mall cop. These incidents have left NBA fans worried about the young star’s future. The Grizzlies are also worried, as is the NBA. Subsequently, Morant was hit with an indefinite suspension from the league.

Additionally, it was revealed this week that the Glendale Police Department in Colorado would be investigating the situation. This is because there very well could have been a law being broken here. There are certain areas where you are not allowed to have a weapon on you, and due diligence needed to be paid in this instance. Had Morant been charged with a crime, his situation would have immediately worsened. However, it seems like Morant is finally getting some good news.

Ja Morant Won’t Be Charged

According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, the Glendale Police Department has come out with a lengthy statement. In this statement, they confirmed that Morant will not be charged. The reason behind this is quite simple: “There was not enough available evidence to charge anyone with a crime.” These words were part of Glendale PD’s statement on the matter. Overall, Ja and the Memphis Grizzlies will be very happy about this. However, this is not the end of this saga. Morant is still being investigated by the NBA, and if they find out he brought the gun on a team flight or in the locker room, he is staring down a 50-game suspension.

It will be extremely interesting to watch how this all continues to play out. Fans want to see Morant succeed, and this will be a difficult lesson for him to learn. That said, he has the potential to be great, and he can’t be wasting it on stupidities. Let us know what you think of all this, in the comments below. Zion Williamson Gets More Bad News

Zion Williamson is a player who has struggled quite a bit when it comes to injuries over the years. Overall, this is incredibly unfortunate as Williamson is a tremendous talent. He is someone who can change the game in an instant, and his athleticism is unmatched. However, Pelicans fans haven’t been able to see much of this due to his frequent injury status. Every year, it feels like Zion is dealing with something new. Consequently, the Pelicans have struggled to find the success that they envisioned when they drafted him.

This season, Williamson had the Pelicans looking like one of the best teams in the league. Although, once he got hit with a hamstring injury, the Pelicans took a dive. Since then, they have fallen out of the NBA playoff picture, and it will be difficult for them to get back there. At this point, the fans would do anything to have Williamson back on the floor. According to a new report from Brian Windhorst of ESPN, however, it does not seem like that will be possible.

Zion Williamson Setback Gets Worse

As Windhorst explains, Williamson’s setback in regard to his hamstring injury is actually quite significant. Furthermore, he said that the star is “not close” to coming back to the court. Given the fact that there are less than 20 games to go in the season, it can be said that we will not see Williamson again until the next campaign. For the Pelicans, this is an absolutely disastrous scenario for them. They will now have to try and make the play-in without their best player. Overall, it is a horrible development for them, and it is one that they have experienced all too often.

Zion is an electrifying player and to see him go through all of this has been very frustrating. Fans just want him to be at his best, and his body is not letting him do that right now. Hopefully, that will change as he matures. Until then, the Pelicans will have to rely on what they have. Be sure to stay tuned to HNHH for the latest news and updates from around the basketball world.

Shaq Gets Brutally Honest With Ja Morant

Shaq is someone who has a ton of experience when it comes to professional basketball. Overall, Shaquille O’Neal is a legend in the basketball world. He was able to win four NBA championships, and he even made it to the Hall of Fame. Moreover, he is now an analyst on TNT where he is able to give his views on the game of basketball. Ultimately, he is someone that a lot of people respect and in many ways, he is an OG for some of these younger players.

When you are young, it is easy to make mistakes. Although you might have all the money in the world, the temptation to act out is always there. Unfortunately, Ja Morant is learning that lesson the hard way right now. The Memphis Grizzlies superstar has been suspended indefinitely and there is no telling when he may return. After brandishing a gun on Instagram Live, many questions have been asked of Ja. Overall, it is a terrible look, and on Tuesday night, Shaq spoke out with his reactions on the matter.

Shaq Reacts

For the most part, Shaq acted as an OG in the situation. He decided to be as honest as possible with Morant, while also delivering some advice that will serve him well. “You don’t go live, nobody knows he has a weapon, [then] we’re not talking about this, but HE did that,” Shaq explained. “We have to stop putting ourselves in positions where they can take away the things that we worked hard for. You got to have enough common sense to know that wasn’t going to go how you wanted it to go. You’re not a rapper. You’re an NBA player.”

These are words that everyone in the league can live by. There have been numerous situations where players have ruined their careers over stupidities. However, there are ways to protect yourselves, and players need to be cognizant of that, moving forward. Hopefully, Morant will take this advice and turn his life around, before things get out of hand. Let us know what you think of Shaq’s take, in the comments below. Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for more news and updates from around the sports world.

What Happened To Russell Westbrook?

If you are a fan of the NBA, then Russell Westbrook is a name known to many. Whether you love or hate him, Westbrook is arguably one of the best point guards in the league and undoubtedly a future Hall of Famer.

If you have paid any attention during the NBA trade deadline, then you may have noticed Russell Westbrook landing a new home not once but twice since being traded from the Lakers. First, on February 8th, the Lakers entered a 3-team deal with Minnesota and Utah, with Utah ultimately landing Russell Westbrook. Then comes February 20th, when the Utah Jazz waived Westbrook, and on February 22nd, the Los Angeles Clippers announced the signing of Russell Westbrook.

Lakers Season 2021

Since joining the Lakers roster in 2021 and playing two seasons with them, Russell Westbrook was always the topic to talk about in Los Angeles. In the 2021 season, Russel Westbrook played a total of 78/82 regular season games for the Lakers. In that timeframe, he played for an average of 34.3 minutes per game and had an average of 18.5 points per game. He averaged 44.4% from the field goal and 29.8% from the 3pt line for his shooting stats. He averages 7.4 per game for rebounds, 7.1 assists per game, 1.0 steals per game, and 0.3 blocks per game.

Lakers Season 2022

The 2022 season for Russell Westbrook is where things started to shift in the wrong direction. This season he played a total of 52 games before being traded and averaged 28.7 minutes per game, the lowest amount he has played in his career. He averaged 15.9 points, his second-lowest points stat line in his career. He averaged 41.7% from the field goal and 29.6% from the 3pt line. Westbrook averaged 6.2 rebounds, 7.5 assists, 1.0 steals, and 0.4 blocks per game.

Between his two Lakers seasons, 2021 was a better year for the point guard as he maintained a higher stat rate than his 2022 year. However, we do have to consider that he was traded in the middle of the 2022 season. In addition, his stat line will vary since he left for the Clippers, so we need to find out how well he could have done for the remainder of the Lakers season.

Lakers Environment

Russell Westbrook has been very vocal about his time as a Laker, especially about the crowd and fans. He even said he didn’t want his kids to attend home games. The fans were very hostile toward Russell and were sarcastic towards him when he did play well. Furthermore, he talked about how the vibes were awkward with them and even had problems with many of them.

Before the Westbrook trade, the Lakers had the probability of trading him after the season. On the ClutchPoints website, they said this about Westbrook, “It might cost the Lakers two future first-round picks, but Russ will probably be traded after this season. His one campaign in Los Angeles has been historically disastrous. He will be blamed (unfairly) for a trade that dismantled a championship-proven squad and hamstrung the team’s future.”

Career Statistics for Russell Westbrook

Looking back on Russell Westbrook’s career, he has thrived back in his time as an OKC Thunder starting in 2008. He played with them until 2018, then was traded to the Rockets in 2019 and the Wizards in 2020, became a Laker for the 2021-2022 season, and finally stayed in L.A. only to be a Clipper.

In his career, Westbrook has played a total of 1,079 games averaging 34.4 minutes per game. He has averaged 22.4 points per game, averaging 43.7% from the field goal and 30.4% from the 3pt line. In addition, he has averaged 7.3 rebounds, 8.4 assists, 1.6 steals, and 0.3 blocks per game.

Looking back at his overall stats in his career, his time at the Lakers has been relatively his worse performance-wise. Whether to blame Westbrook or his team for his statistics is debatable. Furthermore, from the times we’ve seen him play, he was subjected to many missed points, bad call-making, and fouling. Additionally, statistic-wise, and being the big-time player that he is, he underperformed for the Lakers. From that alone, it makes us wonder if his time and contract for the Lakers was worth it or not.

Clippers Season so far

After stealing the starting position from Terance Mann, Russell Westbrook has started to put up some decent numbers since debuting for the Clippers. Westbrook has played a total of 6 games, and from the time of this article, the Clippers are 1-5 since adding Westbrook. He has played an average of 31.7 minutes since joining. He has been averaging 15.3 points with a 52.1% from the field goal and 27.8% from the 3pt line. For his career so far, he has averaged 4.0 rebounds, 8.3 assists, 1.5 steals, and 0.3 blocks.

Furthermore, everyone in the Clippers has been relatively optimistic about the arrival of Westbrook. Paul George was asked about the addition to Westbrook, and he had this to say, “Extremely important. He fits what a leader is as a point guard. Constantly just keeping guys uplifted, just staying positive. You need guys like that, especially from the point guard position.” Ivica Zubac, who plays center for the Clippers, had this to stay, “I like it a lot. It’s way better than I thought it would be… He’s a great leader, also. He’s very vocal. Something we needed… He has a great attitude, he’s always smiling, always laughing, and being very positive. I’m super excited he’s here.”

An end note to Russell Westbrook

With the craziness that has occurred in the span of a couple of years for Russell Westbrook, many want to see him succeed, but others want to see him fail. We expected to see him as a Thunder forever, but business is business. Even with the many teams he has been on since leaving the Thunder, his name is always somewhere online for the good and the bad. Russell Westbrook is a tough player who will get the job done and wants to win. Hopefully, being added to the Clippers will give Westbrook a fresh start in L.A.

Pau Gasol Pays Tribute To Kobe Bryant During Emotional Jersey Retirement Speech: Watch

Pau Gasol is a legend when it comes to the Los Angeles Lakers franchise. Overall, he was a player who helped propel Kobe Bryant to two more NBA titles. The Lakers were repeat champions from 2009 to 2010, and Gason was a huge part of that. Kobe and Pau were great friends up until the former’s death in 2020. Kobe’s passing hit Gasol hard, however, he made sure to always honor the Lakers legend whenever he got the chance.

That is exactly what happened on Tuesday night as Gasol was at the Crypto.com arena for a very special night. Gasol was having his number 16 retired by the franchise prior to a game against the Memphis Grizzlies. Although fans were nervous about the outcome of the game, their anxiety was eased by an incredible pre-game ceremony. As you can see below, Gasol’s jersey was raised to the rafters right next to Kobe’s number 24.

Pau Gasol Speaks

Throughout his speech, Gasol made sure to speak about Kobe and his influence. Overall, you can tell just how much Pau misses his friend. Furthermore, he even mentioned Gigi who passed away at such an incredibly young age. “I can’t go on without talking about the person and the face that I don’t see, the brother that elevated me, inspired me, challenge me to be a better player, just to be a better man overall,” Gasol said. “I miss him so much like many of us do, I love him. Wish he was here with Gigi. But I think he’ll be proud, and he was looking forward to this moment. So, I love you, brother.”

The emotional moment was subsequently followed up by a huge win from the Lakers. The purple and gold are now in ninth place in the Western Conference, which means they are in the play-in. This is a huge development for the team as they have struggled to crack a playoff spot, all season long. Let us know your thoughts on Gasol’s incredible speech, down in the comments below. Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for more news from around the sports world.
