Young Thug Trial: Lil Wayne No Longer On Witness List, Birdman, Rich Homie Quan, & YFN Lucci Remain

Lil Wayne will no longer be called to testify during Young Thug’s ongoing RICO trial, but several key figures in the iconic rapper’s career remain on the witness list. Birdman, Rich Homie Quan, and YFN Lucci’s names all appear among the approximately 200 that could be called into court. The update comes after Gunna’s name disappeared from the list as well. The state previously named over 700 possible witnesses.

Thug’s trial officially began back in November, but there was a multi-week pause in December due to one of the rapper’s co-defendants, Shannon Stillwell, getting stabbed in jail. He was first arrested on gang-related charges back in May 2022 but was later charged with seven additional felonies.

As for Gunna, rumors that he intended to snitch on Thug surfaced after he took a plea deal in the case back in 2022. When he got out of jail, he set the record straight with a statement on the decision. “While I have agreed to always be truthful, I want to make it perfectly clear that I have NOT made any statements, have NOT been interviewed, have NOT cooperated, have NOT agreed to testify or be a witness for or against any party in the case and have absolutely NO intention of being involved in the trial process in any way,” he said at the time. He’s also had to reference the drama on several songs he’s dropped in the time since. The decision led to back and forths with several rappers including Lil Durk and Lil Baby.

Meek Mill & Wale Beef: A Timeline Of Firing Shots & Reconciliation

The beef between rap heavyweights Meek Mill and Wale has spanned for about a decade now, much longer than many fans thought it would last. Since 2014, the two have fired shots at each other. There were moments of peace in between, and once or twice, fans even thought the two had finally reconciled for good.

However, the feud was always revived by either of the two. Even in April 2024, they are still going at it, although Wale is maintaining his peace this time around. At this point, their fans wonder if the pair will ever truly reconcile. Another set of onlookers wonder if the feud has been staged all along, particularly because of its on-and-off nature. Here is a timeline of the longstanding beef between Meek Mill and Wale.

2014: The Feud Begins And Quickly Ends

The genesis of this beef can be traced back to July 2014. While there may have been some tension between Meek Mill and Wale before then, it was in 2014 that the beef officially began in public. In detail, on July 8, 2014, Meek Mill took to Twitter to get some things off his chest about Wale. In a series of tweets, he accused Wale of being unsupportive and said the “Lotus Flower Bomb” rapper was not loyal to MMG. “Wale just ain’t gone tweet a thing about my album…. He’s been hating on me long time now,” one of the tweets read.

Subsequently, only a few hours later, Wale responded to Meek Mill’s tweets with a lengthy caption on Instagram. “I’m sensitive ok. Maybe bi polar. But one thing I’m not is a hater,” a part of the now-deleted post reads. Soon after, Rick Ross, MMG label boss, quelled the beef between the two. Speaking with Global Grind later in July 2014, Ross shared how he stepped in to de-escalate things. “Those are brothers, you know. Soon as those tweets went out, we all got on the phone, and, you know, that was the end of it,” he said.

2015: The Beef Starts Up Again

After July 2014, all seemed to be well between Meek Mill and Wale again. As a matter on fact, when Wale addressed the feud in June 2015, the rapper called Mill family. “We’re just a brotherhood. We’re both competitive. We both want to be the best,” he said, speaking to MTV. However, it wasn’t long afterward that something happened to spark the flames of their feud up again. During an interview on The Breakfast Club in October 2015, Wale discussed Meek Mill’s beef with Drake. “I honestly think [Meek Mill] brought a pencil to a gun fight,” Wale said. Unfortunately, Meek Mill didn’t like that very much.

A few hours after the interview was uploaded on YouTube, Meek Mill already had some words for Wale. In a now-deleted Instagram post, Mill wrote, “N***as b doing all this to drop a new record gossiping about they h*e a*s feelings and they personal life because they miserable and nobody don’t rock wit them! Really stay away from me Fam! U not MMG NOMORE! This why u can’t get my number you a hoe! ???? and u dead cracked right now @wale foh nuttttt!”

“I wasn’t even mad at you Fam u got some real issues with yaself and you jealous! Broke rapper! This my last time I think addressing shit on the Internet… We don’t wanna hear you no more Fam! Go jump off a roof like u been trynado chump! He not MMG IM MAKING THAT CALL … He been tryna call me saying Rozay owe us money… He don’t owe me shit and if he do I’ll get it later …. Go that away!”

2015: Rick Ross Mediates Once Again

After Mill’s outburst, Rozay came into the picture yet again, quenching the fire of the beef. In a Snap video, he reassured fans that things between the two rappers had been ironed out.“Just got a few calls with n***as asking me about my little brothers, the squad. It’s MMG forever, n***a. The empire. F**k that,” Rick Ross said. Concluding with concise lines that got fans excited, he said, “MMG, b*tch. Young Meek Mill. Legend Wale. Self Made 4.” The announcement of the album possibly dropping soon was enough to distract fans from the beef.

Subsequently, in November 2015, Rozay spoke further about the beef being over and done with. In an interview with AllHipHop.com, he said, “You know, those brothers forever. That’s my family. As you can see it’s already done came and went. It’s all about making dope music. And like I said, I feel like me being in a position I am. Me being a boss. Me being as experienced as I am, I feel like them going through that, or whatever you call it, in 10 years when they’re executives they’re gonna be able to give that same game to youngstas. Like ‘Yo, I did that before, but this how we do it.’ I look at things different.”

2020:  Meek Mill & Wale Have Seemingly Buried The Hatchet

On October 6, 2020, Meek Mill shared a very exciting photo on Instagram. The photo featured Mill and Wale, both with masks on. Following their beef, many fans doubted their relationship could ever go back to being what it was. However, they seemed to be well on their way to being great friends again. The now-deleted post was captioned “Me and @wale argued a thousand times & made millions together #MMGVIBES” with a hug emoji. Seeing the pair like that warmed the hearts of many fans, understandably.

2023: Rick Ross Speaks On Meek Mill & Wale

On May 13, 2023, an episode of Drink Champs featuring Rick Ross premiered. During his appearance on the show, Rozayspoke about everything from African music, to Wingstop and DJ Khaled. The MMG boss also made sure to briefly gush about Wale and Meek Mill, two of the signees he’s most proud of. “Without a doubt, to just see them grow and for me to be a young CEO. Of course, I’m already f**king with my brothers Gunplay, them my n***as. But going out and signing Wale and signing Meek, and watching what they both blossomed into, it felt good because I just knew I was correct on what I seen. I saw that they were both geniuses. I saw that they were both dope as f**k,” Rozay said proudly.

January 2024: Meek Mill Says He Holds No Grudges Against Wale

During a Q&A session with his X (formerly Twitter) fans on January 20, 2024, someone asked Meek Mill if he had an ongoing feud with Wale. “Hellllllllllllll no. We had our arguments b4 years back but I came in this game getting money with him …I’m not holding no grudges against my peoples.. and for what???” Meek Mill wrote. This was an answer most fans of the two rappers were very happy to see. Unfortunately, not very long afterward, the feud was revived.

April 2024: Meek Mill Lashes Out And Wale Responds

In a surprising turn of events, Meek Mill took to X to take shots at Wale on April 8, 2024. This happened a day after a photo of Wale surfaced with Dean Stay Reddy, an ex-friend of Mill’s who he now considers an enemy. “Wale never liked me… now ima treat him like the streets everytime I see him … Igave him 1000 chances these guys be thinking they linking with the enemy clown a** ni**a I wish I woulda knew the other day I woulda stretched you,” Mill wrote.

Soon after, Wale responded. “When u get in other people unserious drama in this industry 90 [percent] of the time they be back friends… eventually ..and then u look silly… in the end… so I love minding my business. If a photo can create such vitriol, one has to ask himself some questions. Happy Monday,” he wrote. Subsequently, Meek Mill replied with a series of tweets that included jabs calling Wale “a hoe” and “jealous.”

However, the superstar tandem is not done yet. With We Still Don’t Trust You dropping in two days, Metro and Future recently revealed the artwork, according to HipHopDX.

If you thought the WDTY cover was amazing, this one might be even better. This time around, the inseparable producer and rapper duo have opted for an even ominous black and white color scheme. The Hot Girl Coach is sharing the details of her go-to workouts. In a profile for Women’s Health, Megan Thee Stallion shared how she keeps a healthy mind and body (ody-ody-ody). As part of her cover feature, she participated in an “Everything But The Sweat” video where she broke down her workout routine.

Meg starts each morning with prayer. Afterwards, she puts anime on the television for background noise, then goes onto her balcony to meditate. She then thinks about her daily tasks, plays with her dogs, and then goes about doing her “hot girl activities.”

“I definitely prefer to workout in the morning,” Meg said in the video, “because you are really that girl if you jump out the bed and have working out on your mind. If you start your day with sweating, and squatting, and punching, and lifting, and doing ab workouts and stuff, you have no choice but to really tackle your day the same way.”

As she prefers to workout as soon as she wakes up, Meg prefers to keep her pre-workout meals light, her go-to’s including turkey bacon and two hard-boiled eggs, or a green juice made with spinach, kale, ginger, turmeric, collagen powder, and apples. Additionally, Meg takes supplements to help maintain her wellness.

“I definitely take vitamin C and I take magnesium,” said Meg. “Magnesium helps with my muscle aches and vitamin C like helps with the bone cartilage, because I’m on stage and like squatting for 60 to 90 minutes, and I need these knees and they be asking, what’s the secret to the making knees?”

Elsewhere in the video, Meg revealed the music on her workout playlist, which includes music by Young Dolph, Key Glock, and of course, her own song, “Freak Nasty.”

J Cole “Might Delete Later”: The Best Bars

This past Friday, J. Cole unleashed a brand new mixtape, Might Delete Later with no prior announcement. The surprise release came off the heels of a series of cryptic snippets of the album, which all appear on the 12-song tracklist. And while some of his lyrics, particularly the transphobic line on “Pi,” have rightfully caused a stir, Might Delete Later still managed to live up to the anticipation built off of the teasers. Throughout its 43-minute runtime, Cole showcases his top-tier lyrical ability, rapping over production from The Alchemist, Conductor Williams, T-Minus, and more. Bas, Cam’ron, Central Cee, Ari Lennox, and others contributed guest vocals to the album as well.

J. Cole just wrapped up a co-headlining tour with Drake and debuted Might Delete Later at his Dreamville Festival, which took place over the weekend. During his performance, he rescinded the shots he sent at Kendrick Lamar on the album’s closing track, “7 Minute Drill.” While fans clamor over his comments, one can appreciate the lyrics that he delivered on Might Delete Later. The new project serves as an appetizer for his supposed next album, The Fall Off. Today, we are highlighting the seven best lyrics on J. Cole’s Might Delete Later.

7. “Huntin’ Wabbitz”

The nonchalant manner in which J. Cole raps on “Huntin’ Wabbitz” does not diminish the quality of the lyrics. He finishes his first verse on a high note, rapping, “I’m clappin’ at n****s like they owe me money / Pop-pop-pop-pop-pop-pop, click/ Shit, now the clip lookin’ like Chick-fil-A on a Sunday.” After firing off rounds of lyrical ammunition toward his opponents, his metaphorical clip appears to be empty. Cole raps that he has fired so much and taken down all of his competitors, likening his empty clip of bars to a Chick-fil-A on a Sunday. Chick-fil-A is known for being closed on Sundays, which paints an image of Cole standing victorious by his lonesome.

6. J. Cole’s Verse On “Pi”

Following a show-stopping performance from Ab-Soul and Daylyt, J. Cole showed that he refuses to be outshined on “Pi,” though his attempt undoubtedly contained some questionable bars as a result. With lyrics referencing pop culture and sports, Cole raps, “Now please, hold yo’ L like you guardin’ Philly’s young center / Quick to leave a chick curved / It’s only one of me, but bet it’s like six hers.”

After nodding to Cam Reddish earlier in his verse, Cole nods to another basketball player in Joel Embiid. He bends “yo’ L” to sound like “Joel” before clarifying that he is in fact using the Philadelphia 76ers player’s name. J. Cole applies his name to himself as someone who is tough to beat. Much like “Joel” and “yo’ L,” he also plays on words with “six hers” and the “6ers” basketball team. Out of the many lyrics that reference sports on Might Delete Later, his 76ers scheme is a standout.

5. “3001”

On “3001,” J. Cole recalls a lyric from “No Role Modelz” where he famously rapped about being too young for Nia Long. The actress once told Larry King that “He’s really not too young, he just doesn’t know it.” Referencing his hit song and Long’s reply, Cole raps, “I saw Nia Long quote/ I would’ve poked, back when my heart cold / Give her three or four strokes / Then I’m onto the next, shit like a par four.” He cleverly acknowledges Nia Long’s response with a golf-themed scheme. The “strokes” that one takes when swinging a golf club become a euphemism for sex. Additionally, Cole brags about moving “onto the next” as one would after scoring a par four in golf, which requires four strokes or less. These lyrics on “3001” are one of many examples of J. Cole’s witty schemes on Might Delete Later.

4. The Second Verse on “Crocodile Tearz”

“Crocodile Tearz” is an instant highlight on Might Delete Later, containing multiple standout lyrics. In his second verse, J. Cole argues his position as the GOAT, notching the top spot in “The Big Three.” After flexing a G4 jet as a minimum requirement for travel, he raps, “They sound faded, they downgraded, they Pluto. I’m bigger than Mars, this n***a a star, I’m Bruno.” An excellent play on words, J. Cole compares the fall off of rappers to Pluto becoming a dwarf planet. The line also works as a double entendre in reference to Future’s nickname and first album title. A dig at Future is likely considering it was his song that prompted Kendrick Lamar’s disses against J. Cole and Drake. Cole continues his planet motif by rapping about being bigger than Mars with superstar status like Bruno Mars

3. The First Verse On “Crocodile Tearz”

J. Cole’s spits mean one-liners on the second verse of “Crocodile Tearz.” His first verse, however, weaves in references to film and music as metaphors. He raps, “I’m Joaquin Phoenix, walk the line, I’m about cash / Benjamin Button gettin’ younger as the hours pass.” Cole compares himself to Joaquin Phoenix, who plays Johnny Cash in Walk The Line, as he and the film are about “cash.” Additionally, he likens himself to The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button, a movie where the lead character ages backward. In this line, he says that he is getting better with age, unlike most rappers.

Continuing the theme of reaching a late prime, J. Cole declares, “The Fall Off is like Hov droppin’ Reasonable Doubt last.” Comparing his upcoming album to JAY-Z’s classic debut, Cole hints that his supposed final album will be a game changer that feels like a beginning rather than a farewell.

2. Ab-Soul and Daylyt Trade Bars On “Pi”

The clear lyrical highlight on Might Delete Later is “Pi.” The soulful hip hop track begins with Ab-Soul and Daylyt trading intricate bars. The two wordsmiths’ verse is riddled with double entendres and extended metaphors. Towards the end of their nearly 3-minute long performance, Ab-Soul and Daylyt center a scheme around the assassination of Malcolm X. “See what they told Malcolm X to do with his hands? That shit was out of pocket” alludes to X’s murderers yelling “get your hands outta my pocket” before killing him.

Picked up shotguns that came in handy, wasn’t no plan B,” Daylyt continues with a comparison of shotguns and Plan B as backup plans in an emergency. It is a humorous sexual analogy about the “kid gone” as a result of “plan b.” Daylyt concludes the scheme, rapping, “Knew them shots would muzzle him,” which ties in the Malcolm X lyric with a play on words between “muzzle him” and “muslim.” Together, Ab-Soul and Daylyt finish their epic exchange by likening themselves to godlike figures Nephilim and Gilgamesh. It perfectly concludes a powerful verse that sets the bar high for J. Cole.

1. “Stickz N Stonez”

Many of J. Cole’s best lyrics on Might Delete Later are simple yet effective. On the Alchemist-produced “Stickz N Stonez,” he cleverly flexes his wealth and sexual encounters. “Skeetin’ on thousand-count sheets, I’m hittin’ freaks in tandems/ Bust ’em down, then throw ’em in the cab like they from East Atlanta,” he boastfully raps as he sends women in a taxi back to Dekalb County in Atlanta. Also in the rhyme scheme is a bar about those envious of his status. Cole raps, “Weaklings wanna walk inside my sneakers, watchin’ from the bleachers/ Only time they’ll see the roles reversed is if they lease a Phantom.”

The double entendre refers to leasing a Rolls Royce Phantom becoming the only way that people can swap roles with J. Cole. He organizes these lyrically dense bars in a digestible fashion that stays consistent with the rest of the verse. While certain lyrics on Might Delete Later impress with dense metaphors, the bars on “Stickz N Stonez” steal the show with their simplicity.

Man Who Killed Nicki Minaj’s Father In Hit-&-Run Wants To Question Her For $150 Million Lawsuit

Charles Polevich, the 70-year-old man who killed Nicki Minaj’s father, Robert Maraj, in a hit-and-run back in 2021, wants the rapper to appear in a deposition for an ongoing $150 million lawsuit. He claims Nicki has “knowledge and information that is material and necessary to the defense of the claims set forth in this action.” Specifically, she can apparently attest to her father’s allegedly abusive behavior. Nicki’s mother, Carol, is suing the man, claiming his behavior caused her to lose “services, society, comfort, companionship and consortium.”

Polevich, on the other hand, argues that Robert was “reckless, careless, and negligent in crossing the street.” His attorney added: “My client empathizes with the family. The question of whether there was negligence and degrees of negligence will be determined by the court. The $150 million amount seems to be over the top.”

According to new documents obtained by RadarOnline.com, the proposed deposition of Nicki will regard “questions wherein the issue of domestic abuse is discussed.” The filing adds that “[Carol] acknowledges that statements related to the topic of domestic abuse were made by [Nicki] but [Carol] does not offer meaningful responses regarding the veracity of the statements made.” In response, Carol’s attorneys argue her daughter is not a part of the lawsuit and “to have her testify as to musical lyrics, which could be completely made up, false, and taken out of context, was a waste of time and borderline harassment for the family.”

Ryan Garcia Goes Nuclear On Kanye West For Allegedly Refusing To Walk Him Out Over “No Diddy” Tweet

Boxing star Ryan Garcia has just gone off the rails on X over some new beef with Kanye West. According to HipHopDX, it all began when the 25-year-old sent out a tweet to 50 Cent on April 3. He asked the New York rap icon to walk out with him for his upcoming fight on April 20 with Devin Haney. In that request he also said, “no Diddy,” as a reference to the running jokes surrounding the sexual assault allegations of the mogul. “@50cent would be awesome if you walked out with me 4-20 No diddy Let’s do this!!!!” Garcia presumably asked the same of Kanye, but he allegedly believes that the VULTURES MC “said no” because of the jab at Diddy.

This lit a raging fire inside the young boxer and it led him to send at least 16 vicious verbal attacks toward Kanye. It all began with this post, “Why Kanye mad at me for saying “no diddy” He lost it when he said he was the New Jesus.” From there the tweets began to snowball and increase in absurdity. For example, Garcia went as far as to claim that, “I heard Kim puts her finger in Kanye b** allegedly🤷🏼‍♂️🤷🏼‍♂️

Ryan Garcia Doesn’t Hold Back On Kanye One Bit

Some of the deleted tweets might be even more wild. “Let’s be real, right drake F***ED your girl “Kim” moved to the house next to you. Then she dates Pete Davidson. And then you get a look alike to Kim “Bianca”. And then you have the nerve to say you the new Jesus. LMFAO you are a bum facts.” Garcia also calls out Kanye’s die-hard supporters, saying, “bro supported a genocide for a whole group and y’all defend him” and that it “is actually sad.” In another gut punch, the lightweight boxer says the Georgia-born native is “defending diddy bc that’s his daddy.” Kanye has yet to respond to any of these tweets and confirm if Garcia’s claim is true.

What are your thoughts on Ryan Garcia exploding on Kanye West on Twitter (X)? Do you see Kanye responding to this in any capacity, why or why not? Doechii Is Done Biting Her Tongue With Azealia Banks As She Roasts Her After A Diss

Doechii 2024 iHeartRadio Music Awards

Taylor Swift has the Swifties, Beyoncé has the Beyhive, and BTS has its Army: Many of the world’s biggest music artists have nicknames for their fan bases, and Doechii decided to get that situation squared away for herself. However, Azealia Banks entered the chat to ruin the fun, but Doechii clapped back.

In an Instagram post from April 5, Doechii asked her followers, “ok y’all… what should our fandom name be?” Days later, on April 9, Banks commented, “Definitely should call them the ‘wannabe’s.’

Doechii didn’t take that lying down, responding, “the first time you came for me I let it slide outta respect for my elders. It’s not my fault you sellin bussy soap and I’m sellin platinum records. Leave me alone PLEASE.”

As for the name Doechii and her fans settled on, the rapper wrote in a follow-up post, “based on the results of yesterdays poll… Swamp takes it fair n square [clapping emoji] but you’ll still be my chiichii’s from time to time, and I’ll always have a special place in my heart for my gaytors.”

Doechii, meanwhile, is fresh off fostering a healthier relationship with a hip-hop peer, by linking up with City Girls’ JT on their recent collaboration, “Alter Ego.”

Lil Rod Claims He’s Got Diddy On Tape Admitting To Crimes

Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones claims he has a recording of Diddy admitting to a litany of crimes, including pressuring artists into record deals, inappropriate sexual acts, tax evasion, and more. He made the claim in a sworn affidavit to the court in his sexual assault lawsuit against the Bad Boy mogul, according to AllHipHop. Jones got to know Diddy while working on his latest project, The Love Album: Off the Grid.

“He shared how he would get things by force,” Lil Rod explained. “This included record deals, signatures on contracts, sex acts from women and men, as well as the women of his enemies. He bragged about departed attorney Johnny Cochran’s savvy legal skills and ability to pay off the witnesses through private investigators and other third parties.”

Jones added: “Mr. Combs bragged about the power he has and the fact that he beat up record executive Steve Stoute’s ‘ass.’ He laughed uncontrollably as he talked about busting him in the head with a bottle of champagne and a chair. On another occasion, Mr. Combs bragged about beating up Gerard Rechnitzer outside of a nightclub in Hollywood. Mr. Combs also informed me that only poor people pay taxes. He shared that it is a common practice in the music industry to wire money from anonymous accounts overseas. This way, if there is ever a need to take care of a problem, it would never be traced back to him. These accounts were in Germany.”

Diddy and his legal team have already vehemently denied the allegations stemming from the lawsuit. His attorney labeled Jones, “nothing more than a liar” and accused him of “shamelessly looking for an undeserved payday” after he filed the lawsuit. In fact, she has already had a massive start to 2024. Her song “Hiss” hit number one on the Billboard charts after she took some serious shots at Nicki Minaj. This subsequently led to Nicki’s song “Big Foot” which turned out to be a bit of a flop. Meg seemingly won the beef, and now, she is continuing to tease new music, and even a potential project.

In fact, she recently put out a song with GloRilla called “Wanna Be” which has even led to a viral challenge. In the follow-up to this track, Meg is now promoting her latest magazine cover. As you can see below, Meg found herself on the cover of Women’s Health. When someone graces the cover of these magazines, they usually do so in the nude as to show off the person’s physique. Meg has been adamant about her recent exploits in the gym, so it shouldn’t come as a surprise that Women’s Health would ask her to take part in this campaign.
