Rihanna Claims ASAP Rocky’s Fashion Choices Make Her Feel “Bummy”

Rihanna is one of the most revered and glamorous women on the planet. Full stop. The pop culture icon has been praised for her bold fashion choices for two decades, whether it be through her makeup line or her music. This sky high reputation is what makes her comments regarding A$AP Rocky so surprising. In a recent profile for Interview Magazine, Rihanna claimed her rapper husband easily outshines her when it comes to style. She went as far as to say that she often looks like Rocky’s “assistant” when they go out.

The A$AP Rocky praise was prompted by a pair of earrings he gifted to Rihanna. She claimed that he was the absolute “best” when it came to identifying fashionable pieces and looking sharp regardless of the occasion. “I be feeling bummy as s**t next to this man,” she admitted. “I feel like, g*****n, I look like his assistant. I’m getting on a plane. We should be in sweats. He wants to be in a full Bottega suit. I’m like, “Why you got to do that to me.” Rihanna also credited A$AP Rocky, real name Rakim Meyers, with creating the lipgloss she wore during the magazine’s photoshoot.

The “Praise Da Lord” rapper not only serves as an inspiration for Rihanna herself, but for the way she dresses their sons, RZA and Riot Rose. During the Interview profile, Rihanna revealed that she’s the one who picks out the clothing for their sons over Rocky. “Riot is actually in all of RZA’s one-year-old clothes already,” she added. “He’s only six months. Everybody thinks Rocky dresses them because I dress them in Rocky outfits.” Rihanna also noted that motherhood has affected the way she dresses on a regular basis. “Moms are lazy dressers in real life,” she admitted.

Rihanna’s praise may be sweet, but it’s not altogether surprising. A$AP Rocky was praised as a fashion icon since he arrived on the scene in the early 2010s. He released a collaboration with Guess inspired by his love of 90s fashion in 2016, as well as Gucci, Puma and Bottega Veneta on a 2023 campaign inspired by paparazzi photos. When asked to describe his style, Rocky told Complex that it was an “individual thing” that’s constantly evolving. “Everybody has their individuality, so you just gotta make it work for you,” he advised. “I no longer concern myself with what everybody’s doing and how they do it. I don’t even care anymore.” Obviously, his approach has worked.

Vince Staples Doesn’t Approve Of Streamers Using Drake And Kendrick Lamar Beef To Promote Themselves

Ever since his debut, Vince Staples has been reliable for offering a unique viewpoint on the issues facing hip-hop. With seemingly everyone in the genre focused on the possible feud between Drake and Kendrick Lamar, he unsurprisingly had a skewed take that pointed out a huge problem when it comes to the business of selling rap beef.

Noticing that Spotify had begun running billboards in Times Square reading, “Hip-hop is a competitive sport,” Vince censured the streamer in the latest episode of the Joe Budden Podcast. When the host called the Long Beach rapper and asked about the supposed dispute between Drake and Kendrick, Staples called out both Spotify and the rest of the cast.

“We either with the coonin’ or we not, bro,” he said. “Once n****s get mad, we got billboards from streamers talking about ‘Hip-Hop is a sport’, but we ain’t never seen a billboard from a streamer that said ‘give that n**** his publishing back.’” He also made several salient points about the adoption of hip-hop in pop music and tech while cutting out as many of the craftspeople involved as possible. Naturally, those goofs argued with Vince, making fun of him for “always being on some cerebral sh*t,” but that doesn’t change the fact that he’s right.

Boosie Badazz Defends R. Kelly While Putting Aoki Lee Simmons’ Former Fling On Blast

Boosie Badazz is someone who has always spoken his mind, regardless of whom his opinion might offend. Overall, this has led to some pretty heinous opinions over the years. For instance, he has offered numerous defenses of R. Kelly and Bill Cosby. In his mind, these are iconic and talented black men who are being disparaged. Considering the allegations against these two, such a take isn’t exactly well received by the masses. However, he doesn’t mind ruffling a few feathers, no matter what the consequences will be.

Recently, Boosie found himself upset about the situation with Russell Simmons’ daughter, Aoki Lee Simmons. As we reported, Simmons recently broke up with her recently fling, who was in his 60s. It was a huge age gap, and some felt like it was very weird. Boosie was one such person, as he took to Instagram Live and went off on the double standards involving white men. As he explains, no one is talking about Aoki’s former boyfriend, however, people were extremely quick to go after R. Kelly.

Boosie Badazz Speaks His Mind

There is a key distinction here that ultimately negates the point Boosie is making. Of course, this is the fact that Aoki Lee Simmons is of age. Meanwhile, R. Kelly was having sex with minors. This is a huge distinction, and it is ultimately why people wanted to bring down R. Kelly. Either way, Boosie had a point that he wanted to make, and he made it. Whether or not it is a valid one, is up to his fans to decide.

Let us know what you think of Boosie and his opinion on the matter, in the comments section down below. 2Pac’s Never-Before-Seen Mugshot From 1993 Sexual Assault Arrest Surfaces Online

Previously unearthed photos of 2Pac’s mugshot from his 1993 arrest for sexual assault have surfaced online. DJ Skandalous appears to have been the first person to share the pictures, which he did on Instagram with context to what ‘Pac was going through at the time.

“Unbelievable photos! It’s 2024 and I am still seeing new 2Pac photos for the first time. These particular photos was from when 2Pac was arrested on November 19th 1993,” Skandalous wrote in the caption. “The scar on 2Pac’s face is only makeup as he was filming for the movie ‘Above The Rim’ during this time.” ‘Pac starred in the sports drama alongside Duane Martin, Marlon Wayans, and Leon. It released in March 1994.

“Also interesting to see that you can tell that 2Pac is also missing parts of his hair in the back of his head,” Skandalous continued. “Many people kept saying Pac shaved his head due to a receding hairline but this is more proof of Alopecia which became prevalent after the police brutality he suffered from the jaywalking incident.” Jada Pinkett Smith previously revealed that ‘Pac suffered from the hair loss condition while promoting her memoir, Worthy. She told PEOPLE in 2023: “I don’t think Tupac ever talked about the alopecia he suffered from. After he was in Northern California with the police officers that beat him up, he started losing his hair. And his alopecia patterns were far more extreme than mine.”

50 Cent Attacks Jason Derulo Over His Defense Of Diddy

There’s been a lot of pressure on Diddy coming from a variety of places in the past few months. The most intense pressure is likely coming from the legal woes. The feds raided two of his properties last month as part of an investigation into allegations of sex trafficking and producer Lil Rod filed a lawsuit against the rap mogul making some intense allegations against the rap mogul. But the most relentless pressure by far has come from 50 Cent’s Instagram feed. The rapper has been posting about Diddy almost every single day dating back months to a lawsuit filed against him in November.

Earlier this week, TMZ caught up with Jason Derulo and had time to ask him a question about Diddy. When they asked if he should be seen as innocent until proven guilty, Derulo agreed. “I believe in that. I believe in innocent before proven guilty,” he replied. 50 caught the resulting story and had to express his issues with it. “👀Shut the fvck up ! 😆let me find out you on one of them tapes boy” he captioned an Instagram post accompanied by a picture of the headline. Derulo is the most recent in a line of people who become targets for 50 as soon as they’re association with Diddy emerges. Check out his post and the fan reactions to it below.

50 Cent Takes Shots At Jason Derulo Over Diddy Comments

This isn’t even the only post 50 Cent has made about Diddy today. He posted a video a few hours ago that was meant to take aim at the rap mogul himself but also Meek Mill and Yung Miami. Meek was mentioned in Lil Rod’s lawsuit where he’s claimed to have had a sexual encounter with Diddy. But 50 thinks that questions about his sexuality are the last of Meek’s problems as he could be involved in the legal matters surrounding Diddy.

What do you think of 50 Cent posting about Jason Derulo following his comments to TMZ about Diddy? Do you think Derulo was wrong to say Diddy should be innocent until proven guilty? Let us know in the comment section below.

Rema Accuses Dreamville Fest Of Mistreating African Artists During Show

Dreamville Fest was poised to be a hip-hop highlight of 2024. The lineup for the festival was stacked with musical stars from around the world, and organizer J. Cole was in the midst of a widely-discussed feud with Kendrick Lamar. It did not go according to plan, however. Nigerian superstar Rema claimed that he was not given as much respect as the Americans on the bill. He also claimed that he was one of several African artists who suffered from poor sound quality onstage, which led to his set ending prematurely.

Rema performed during the second day of the festival. At least, that was the plan. The “Calm Down” singer had his set disrupted by technical issues, and they went on so long that he voiced his frustration to the crowd. “These sound issues is messing up my whole performance,” he noted. “I’m seriously not feeling this s**t at all. I’m representing Africa. This is too messed up.” Rema pointed to a double standard regarding the sound that effectively silenced the crowd. “So the sound cannot be perfect for every artist that gets on this stage and Africa is in the house and y’all messing s**t up?,” he asked.

Rema Told The Crowd He Was “Representing Africa”

The technical difficulties continued throughout Rema’s set. The singer tried to perform his most popular single, “Calm Down“, only to discover that his voice wasn’t coming through on the microphone. He tried his best to keep the energy up, but ultimately decided to cut his set short. His frustration was evident as he walked offstage. “Too many sound issues, my people,” he reluctantly informed the crowd. “I love you all my people.”

It was an unfortunate showcase for Dreamville’s technical team. It was not, however, the only time that an artist prompted an awkward moment onstage during the festival. J. Cole performed the same night as Rema, and chose to make a public apology to Kendrick Lamar following the release of his diss track “7 Minute Drill.” He claimed the diss was the “lamest, goofiest s**t” he recorded in years. He also told the stunned crowd that the track would be taken down from streaming platforms. The rapper has not yet addressed Rema’s performance, however, or the accusations of prioritizing American over African artists.

Eminem Issued An Open Call To All His ‘Stans’ To Appear In His Upcoming Documentary

Dr. Dre Honored with Star on The Hollywood Walk of Fame

Eminem is looking for real-life Stans to appear in his upccoming documentary about the phenomenon. The Detroit rap icon famously coined the term that has become the bane of online music discussion and now, he wants his biggest fans to share their stories. He tweeted out a link to a questionnaire that asks when and how respondents first heard about Eminem, whether they consider themselves Stans or not, whether they collect Eminem merch, write fan fiction about him, or make artwork inspired by him.

The term “Stan” was famously coined by Eminem in a song from the 2000 Marshall Mathers LP of the same name. The titular character was a fan who wrote increasingly unhinged letters to Eminem (expressed in first-person lyrics from Eminem in character and played by Devon Sawa in the music video) as he engaged in a one-sided, parasocial friendship with the rap star. The song ends with Stan interpreting a lack of response from Eminem as a rejection, snapping, and driving his car off a bridge with his girlfriend locked in the trunk. In the final verse, Eminem does get around to responding, only to realize that he’s too late.

While he likely meant the song as a tongue-in-cheek satire of fans’ obsessions with celebrities, in recent years, the term has been applied to online fan clubs who engage in targeted bullying campaigns against stars’ perceived rivals and critics. These attacks have been known to escalate into offline harassment, including “swatting” or “doxing” victims (calling in false police reports or sharing private information online) and even allegedly threatening to vandalize family members’ gravesites.

Eminem’s Stans have even harassed writers of this very site (y’all really did not like our reviews of his last few albums). Maybe you can include those stories on the questionnaire, which you can find here.
