Kevin Gates Sparks Debate With Cuban Link Headband

Kevin Gates is known for his eclectic and often clowned fashion choices, so this use of a Cuban link as a headband is no surprise. Moreover, fans had plenty to say about this new style, whether it was remarking on folks who have done this before or on how ridiculous or cool some people think it looks. “Why would anyone want to wear that many chains,” one fan wrote under a Twitter post covering the look, whereas another added, “Can’t front, it’s kinda dope.” “Nah that ain’t it,” another posited with crying-laughing emojis, and other comments took a more practical stance. “Gonna be easier to get that s**t snatched that’s forsure,” a user theorized.

Furthermore, we’re sure that the Baton Rouge rapper will be quick to speak on this reception if it bothers or entices him at all. He’s never been shy about explaining or defending his controversial or notable choices, such as his practice of semen retention. “You gon’ release every now and then,” Kevin Gates remarked on the Million Dollaz Worth Of Game podcast with Gillie and Wallo. “You gon’ have a wet dream here and there. I don’t beat [myself] up about it, because anything in your body that need to come out gon’ naturally come out. Even when I’m with a woman, once she get off, I’m done.”

Elsewhere, The Ceremony MC will likely continue to forge his own path in the game, whether for his music or his takes. That album dropped with barely any features, and it’s clear that he won’t let his headline antics get in the way of his art. After all, Kevin Gates has always achieved this balance as a comical and often scandalous celebrity with a dedicated fanbase and unwavering artistry. All we can ask for is that he takes some more fashion advice every once in a while.

But maybe that self-consciousness would get in the way of his fashion “innovations,” and we’re not sure what the 38-year-old would rather give up. Is this Cuban link headband a look or are you never using him as a styling reference? Whatever the case, drop your thoughts down in the comments section below. Also, stay posted on HNHH for the latest news and more updates on Kevin Gates.

J. Cole “Might Delete Later” Review

In the midst of what some have been referring to as hip-hop’s civil war, J Cole’s shifty eyes peek between both sides anxiously at the mere thought of betraying either friend, Drake and Kendrick Lamar. Together they formed the Big 3, a trifecta of MCs who carried their mentors’ legacies and affirmed lyricism’s position in the mainstream during the 2010s. What J Cole – and the public – may have celebrated as three generational talents who’ve pushed the boundaries of hip-hop to its commercial peak as a unified front, his other two counterparts have made it abundantly clear that they’re playing for keeps. And as a result, the generational consensus for the better part of the 2010s was that J Cole was trailing behind as the third wheel with a catalog of snoozers and faux-philosophical revelations, and arguably, one of the most insufferable fanbases online. But, if it weren’t for his fans parading around the “platinum with no features” feat, he wouldn’t have actually tried to prove anyone wrong.

His surprise drop, the tight 12-track mixtape, Might Delete Later is yet another affirmation of J Cole’s candidacy for the coveted GOAT title. At its core, the mixtape is a lyrical exercise emphasizing hip-hop’s competitive nature and extending his ambitious run into the 2020s. However, the release of Might Delete Later arrived on the heels of Future and Metro Boomin’s Kendrick Lamar-powered “Like That” and days before his annual Dreamville Festival. Along with the snippets that arrived before its release, the bar for Cole was raised much higher due to external circumstances that could’ve easily gone unacknowledged.

Might Delete Later highlights the hunger in Cole’s belly, one that became evident in projects like K.O.D. where he pushed back at the narratives being spun by young Soundcloud prodigies like Lil Pump and Smokepurpp. However, in the following years, Cole has been on a mission to bridge generational gaps, play peacemaker between his other two cohorts, and prove that his relevance isn’t limited to his fanbase. He’s been able to move at his own pace and afforded the luxury of reaching new heights on his schedule. Much of these periods of silence have been dedicated to sharpening his craft, and figuring out how to transcend the lyrical box he’s been placed in without losing sight of his talent, albeit with stints of pro ball here and there. It became clear on his 2018 feature run that to be the best, he would have to align himself with other artists – specifically those that he isn’t necessarily friends with – who could push him outside of his comfort zone.

It’s been especially refreshing to hear J Cole embrace his Southern roots more openly, too, whether through collaborations alongside Dreamville cohorts or otherwise. “Pricey,” the opening track, sets the tone with a calming and cool effect that sounds like it should soundtrack an old-school Cadillac with gold plates riding through a deeply leafy and muddy forest, accented by Ari Lennox’s decadent vocals and Young Dro’s hypnotizing bridge over glossy bluesy guitar strings. However, the inclusion of Gucci Mane, who previously collaborated with Cole on “There I Go,” helps bookend the album, alongside Trae Tha Truth’s appearance on “Trae Tha Truth In Ibiza.” Their spoken word passages that conclude the songs they respectively appear on allow Cole to push an uplifting message without sounding preachy.

But as much as J Cole’s humble lifestyle is a central force of this project, whether he’s bragging about pulling “your b*tch with no line-up and Crocs,” scoffing at the notion of extravagant bottle service, or simply, recollecting harsh memories growing up in Cumberland, Might Delete Later isn’t a body of work that aims to do much else besides wreak lyrical tyranny on the rest of hip-hop and make it clear where he stands among the crowd. It’s best summarized on “Crocodile Tearz,” a fiery banger that’s filled a cut-throat performance from Cole over an eerie Memphis-leaning beat that has traces reminiscent of Drake and 21 Savage’s “Knife Talk” except even bigger. It’s here where he puts his peers on notice, rapping, “Should do the Freshman cover twice, I’m never outclassed/ It’s not another n***a breathin’ that could outlast/ The Fall Off is like Hov droppin’ Reasonable Doubt last.”

Unfortunately, this level of vigor and tenacity in the spirited competition of hip-hop remains unmatched throughout the rest of the project, even on “7-Minute Drill.” Though a response to Kendrick’s internet-shattering verse on Future and Metro Boomin’s We Don’t Trust You, it may have been better considered a “warning shot” rather than an outright diss. Quite honestly, “7-Minute Drill” showcased a lack of self-awareness, especially when trying to come at another artist’s discography with non-descript bars that could be toward anyone. But what’s worse is that even the idea of poking fun at Kendrick Lamar’s 5’5” stature weighed heavily on his conscious. For the first 48 hours, he was nearly declared the winner of the first round yet the discourse on his response ultimately became overwhelming. Then came his infamous Dreamville Festival apology, where he gracefully bowed out from the feud, admitting that he fell victim to peer pressure.

Nonetheless, this project attempts to reinvigorate the spirit of battle rap within J Cole, who has openly stated that artists like Canibus and Eminem inspired him. While records like “3001,” “Huntin’ Wabbits,” and the Alchemist-produced, “Stickz & Stonez” further fortify Cole’s M.O. across this album of being an elite MC, his efforts to chase clever and witty bars put a spotlight on his questionable rhymes – both on this album and historically. “Pi,” the Daylyt and Ab-Soul-assisted song, feels like an ode to “WROH” from Ab-Soul’s These Days where the TDE MC and the battle rap veteran trade bars a capella. For Cole, attempting to land a transphobic punchline was just a tone-deaf decision. Even if he wants to argue that it’s for the sake of creative freedom – and, let’s say that was the case: why exercise that liberty for a throwaway bar that’s hardly effective outside of being offensive? Haven’t we learned anything from the “Jodeci Freestyle?”

Regardless of some of the missteps, Might Delete Later remains a step up in J Cole’s catalog, especially having not released a mixtape since Friday Night Lights. He finds places to push his pen further and other moments where he can simply enjoy the fruits of his labor. “H.Y.B” and “Stealth Mode” are prime examples of Cole’s ability to find inspiration from the new generation, even outside of the U.S. Bas, who appears on both tracks, pulls J Cole into a hedonistic lifestyle on both tracks that extends the themes of songs like “Passport Bros.” Central Cee’s inclusion on “H.Y.B” is another heavyweight co-sign for the Brit. However, much like “Pi” and “Crocodile Tearz,” the tinges of external influences, namely 2023’s “Sprinter,” seep through the summer-friendly production.

As a precursor to The Fall Off, J Cole’s fourth mixtape stands as a strong body of work but one that will likely be remembered in the shadows of the controversy that surrounds it. For an artist who declared, “I hit ’em up, bitch, I’m 2Pac twin,” he ultimately succumbed to the pressure that comes with the #1 spot. Unlike his hoop dreams, his efforts to enter the battle rap octagon have been thwarted completely, though whether this permanently erases his place among the Big 3 will be determined with time. Nonetheless, Might Delete Later continues an epic run for J Cole, only if he dismantled his momentum with an apology.

YBN Nahmir Breaks His Silence After Alleged Chain-Snatching

Earlier this week, one man hopped online to allege that he snatched YBN Nahmir’s custom chain in Compton. According to the Alabama-born MC, however, there’s absolutely zero truth to his claims. Yesterday (April 10), Nahmir took to social media to address the rumors, appearing confused and confirming the jewelry was still in his possession.

“I’m literally just getting up. What the f*ck do you n***as be talking about?” he says in a clip, laughing and lifting his chain to show viewers. “What the f*ck? All this sh*t be fake as hell. The internet be fake as hell.” While some fans believed the self-proclaimed chain-snatcher had really gotten ahold of Nahmir’s iconic piece, others were never fully convinced.

The man, who goes by @jointkofflaurel on Instagram, posted several photos of what he said was Nahmir’s chain on his Story this week, taunting the performer in his caption. “@ybnnahmir I got yo sh*t yung n***a tap n,” he wrote. He went on to share an old clip of the 24-year-old bragging about the YBN pendant, and noting how difficult it was to get his hands on. In a subsequent video, the alleged chain-snatcher boasted about how “easy” it actually was to steal. Plenty of fans had doubts from the get-go and sounded off in No Jumper‘s IG comments section.

“You can tell the chain the other guys got is fake don’t even look real,” one user argued. “That ain’t even the same chain why a rapper gunna put white gold on yellow that’s where it got me,” another said. Meek Mill & Akademiks Beef Timeline

Numerous ups and downs have marked the dynamic between Meek Mill and Akademiks in recent years. Their ongoing feud escalated dramatically this year, culminating in Meek Mill blocking DJ Akademiks on X. The heated exchange between the two also played out extensively on the platform. For those unfamiliar with the origins of their conflict, here’s a timeline outlining the evolution of their feud.

2017: The Everyday Struggle Interview

The beef between the Off the Record host and Meek Mill began in 2017 following the release of Meek’s Wins & Losses album. In a 2017 episode of Everyday Struggle, Akademiks detailed the start of the beef, asserting that it stemmed from his failure to adequately promote the album on his platform. “Meek, he didn’t appreciate I didn’t post his album,” he explained. “However, it was really confusing to me ’cause about six months ago, Meek had sent me a DM. Him and the rest of the ‘Chasers, they gave me a little digital jump and a light one. They said, ‘Listen, either post us this way or don’t post us at all.’”

Akademiks went on to say that Meek and the ‘Chasers soon began threatening him. He claims that that’s when he decided not to post the artist at all. “Next thing I’m seeing, they were threatening me,” he continued. ‘When I see him, I’ma gonna give him a wedgie, I’ma slap him.’ I’m like, ‘Oh shit! I think I’m posting them wrong.’ So, I stopped posting them.”

June-July 2020: Meek Mill Wants Akademiks Canceled

At the end of June 2020, Meek Mill attempted to get Akademiks canceled. He claimed that the host helped escalate beef that had gotten people killed and had never contributed positively to the culture. He took to X and wrote: “Akademiks canceled because he’s a bad police and our culture don’t need them… he also gassed a lot of beef that got people killed and hurt and never donated a dollar to the culture! We gon holla at you next run champ lol.”

A few days later, Meek Mill threatened to “greenlight” Akademiks on X, claiming that the host only made money “off the trenches.” However, Akademiks turned the tables against Meek. In a live video, Akademiks admitted that he had called the police on Meek Mill for trying to green-light him. He stated: “Just remember that Meek Mill is nothing but a hypocrite… I know Ak is supposed to be the dude who like you could just get everything off on. Cool, I’m just trying to tell you that bro, I‘m just not into being bullied… Stop telling the world you’re greenlighting people and just do what you have to do. ‘Cause when you said green lighting, I sent that to the police. I’m gonna be honest with you.”

December 2020: The End?

The beef between the rapper and host reached boiling point in December 2020 on the Clubhouse app. The two went toe to toe, exchanging harsh words. Meek Mill also used the opportunity to bring up Akademiks fueling beef with other rappers. Thankfully, rapper 21 Savage was also in the Clubhouse at the time and mediated between the two.

After the chat, both Meek Mill and Akademiks took to X to praise 21 Savage for his commendable act. Meek wrote: “If you was there you know it was a great start for communication in hip hop! The way 21 handled it inspired me and was a good highlight!” Similarly, Akademiks also posted, “21 savage one of the realest n***as in Hip Hop. he can call a n***a on their bullshit but still fw then & accept them 4 what they r.. if anybody ever seen the convo we had … we talked privately the same exact way. I appreciate a n***a being himself no matter who in the room.”

Following the peace that was brought finally between Meek Mill and Akademiks, the podcast host sat with The Breakfast Club two years later and praised 21 Savage once more for helping to squash the beef between him and Meek. “21 Savage did something I thought was very dope,” he began. “He gave this explanation, he said, ‘When two friends are going at it, if it goes far enough, you got to pick a side.’ And he basically said it was going to a point where he was going to be forced to be like, ‘Yo, are you really rocking with this nigga Ak or you rocking over here?’”

February 2024: Akademiks Calls Meek Mill Out

The beef between the two was reignited in February 2024, after Akademiks presented excerpts from a 73-page lawsuit against Diddy. In the document, Meek’s name was notably absent. However, Akademiks specifically referred to Meek as one of the persons mentioned in the suit. Akademiks called Meek out, stating: “you been tweeting about everything on planet Earth. If you don’t get a Twitter rant saying you about to get Lil Rod killed, you bout to shoot up his block, blow up his momma’s house… This n***a saying you and Diddy were fornicating! What the f**k? Meek!?”

Meek Mill, however, took offense in the video and immediately came after Akademiks on X. He ranted: “Akademiks didn’t I tell you stop playing with my name… idk what ima do when I actually see you! It’s gonna have a combination to it tho!” Soon after, Akademiks responded with a tweet of his own, showing his confusion as to why Meek was angry at him, especially since he didn’t believe the claims made in the lawsuit.

What followed was an intense battle between the two on the platform. Their tweets were filled with harsh words and insults, with Meek even threatening the host’s life. Meek also called Akademiks an alcoholic, and the host in return, said that Meek had fallen off. He also insisted that Meek was only mad because there was speculation about his sexuality.

March 2024: Still At It

In early March, Akademiks went on live stream and called out Meek Mill for their ongoing beef on X. In the live stream, he then revealed that the police were present at his doorstep, and attributed and alleged that Meek had summoned them. Later in the month, the “Going Bad” rapper revealed on X that he planned to block Akademiks on the social media platform. Meek Mill eventually tweeted that he had finally followed through with his plans. Alongside a screenshot of him blocking Akademiks, he wrote: “Okay it’s over y’all I wanted to see how many days I could make a bad geek lose sleep lol I blocked him.” When Akademiks found out that he could no longer access Meek’s X page, he took it in stride. He happily declared himself the winner of their online war. He tweeted: “No Way Meek Mill blocked Me… I out tweeted Mr Twitter Fingers himself.”

Boosie Badazz Angers Woman At Hawks Game Due To His Massive Chain

Boosie Badazz is the Atlanta Hawks’ number one celebrity fan, as he’s always courtside for the NBA team’s games. During his most recent visit, he rocked a diamond-encrusted rose gold Jesus piece with some Cuban chains to match, which caught the attention of a particularly angered female fan. Moreover, the Baton Rouge rapper hit Instagram up on Wednesday (April 10) to speak on an interaction with a woman who wasn’t a fan of his jewelry. As expected, he took a pretty comical stance on the matter and injected his signature brand of unabashed and unfiltered personality in his recounting of events.

“Lady at the game asked me why did I do that to Jesus,” Boosie told the camera from his courtside seat. “She said, ‘Jesus is not going to like that.’ I told her I’m showing everybody to give them the glory. She said, ‘I don’t think Jesus is going to like that.’ I differ! I’m going to wear my Bible piece next time, see what you’re going to say.” Given his recent defense of R. Kelly, this definitely ended up being one of the more innocuous and light headlines to pop up surrounding him.

Boosie Badazz Brushes Off Jesus Piece Criticism At Hawks Game: Watch

Speaking of Boosie’s relationship with basketball, he recently apologized for racially charged comments against LSU player Hailey Van Lith. “Our white girl was scared to death of [Caitlin] Clark,” he had expressed about her. “Why was she guarding her in the first place? We gotta do some serious recruiting next year.” “Hey, I want to apologize to Hailey Van Lith,” the 41-year-old expressed with regret after backlash to this statement. “That’s my bad. I got in my feelings, I really wanted y’all to win, man. I apologize to you and to LSUI mean, that’s all I can say, I got in my feelings. Really wanted y’all to beat Iowa.”

Meanwhile, despite this Jesus piece incident, he’s by no means shy about clowning someone else for the optics of their choices, such as when he caught his son thirsting over Latto. We can surely expect at least one more notable antic or development before the NBA season wraps up for the Hawks. In fact, we can only dream of what could go down next season. Megan Thee Stallion Deleted Instagram From Her Phone, But She Explains Why She’s All In On ‘The Best App’ Instead

This isn’t a revelatory statement, but there’s a lot of both good and bad that comes with social media. It helps connect the world and expose people to creativity they otherwise wouldn’t have seen, but too much time online can be exhausting or even harmful. It’s not uncommon for people to remove popular social media apps from their phones sometimes, and that’s what Megan Thee Stallion is going through right now. There’s one app, though, that she’s huge on, so much so that she deemed it to be “the best app.”

Meg spoke at Adweek’s Social Media Week event yesterday (April 10), and she discussed what her social media usage has been like lately, saying:

“You know what I really like? Pinterest. I’m not gonna tell anybody what my Pinterest is. I got a lot of stuff saved, OK? So I deleted Instagram and Twitter off my phone. I have TikTok and I have Pinterest. Pinterest is, like, the best app in my opinion right now because I can curate what I want to see. […] I can literally get on there and see what I want to see. Like, if I want to see puppies all day, that’s what I see. My Pinterest is makeup, puppies, breakfast [laughs], workout videos, booty shorts [laughs]. I see all the content I like to see.”

Diddy Trades Lawsuits: Ex-Nanny Drops Case, But Artist Sues Him For Unpaid Work

Diddy is in a very difficult position right now, albeit one that’s unconfirmed as far as how accountable and responsible he is for it. Moreover, whenever one lawsuit drops, another seems to emerge in its place, which is exactly what happened this month. Readers may remember a wrongful termination lawsuit against him from a former nanny, which at one point was among his big legal challenges before explosive sexual assault and sex trafficking allegations emerged against him. But Raven Wales-Warden dismissed her complaint with prejudice, which bars a potential refiling, on April 2 according to MyNewsLA, and it’s unclear if it was due to a settlement or not at press time.

However, Diddy also received a $200K lawsuit on Tuesday (April 9) from an artist who claims he never paid him for a scrapped art project amid his other accusations regarding sex-related crimes. According to court documents reportedly obtained by HipHopDX, the Southern District of New York got a complaint filing from Raven Production Management Group, LLC. The plaintiff’s story goes that Phantom Labs and Matthew Lupton commissioned him for a sculpture for an even Sean Combs was organizing for August of 2023. While he signed a contract and promised funding the very next day, the plaintiff claims, he was never paid for this work.

Diddy Hit With $200K Lawsuit Over Unpaid Art Commission

Furthermore, the plaintiff specifically alleges that he spent an additional $20,000 in project costs, and by the time the initiative fell in limbo due to the event’s postponement, the costs totaled up to $97,000. The artist wants Diddy to cough up “damages to Raven in an amount to be determined at trial, but no less than $200,000 for breach of contract [and] no less than $96,732.00 for fraudulent inducement.” In addition, the plaintiff seeks other damages. These include “for tortious interference with contract and business relations, deceptive trade practices, unjust enrichment, and quantum meruit.”

Meanwhile, this news breaks as the entertainment world continues to react to the Bad Boy mogul’s legal battles. Do you think that this uphill climb will get any easier, or is this far from the end? Kanye West Shows Off Slim Figure As Biance Censori Sports Dress With Plunging Neckline

Kanye West and Bianca Censori have been attached at the hip as of late. Overall, they have been spending all of their time together, and it seems like that they are very much in love. After all, they are married, and only couples who truly enjoy each other’s company would spend that much time together. While there have been questions about the couple’s authenticity, it does seem like those questions shouldn’t exist anymore. Ye and Censori are going strong, and his fans are happy for him.

Last night, Kanye and Censori were out at a party in Los Angeles. It seemed to be a pretty good time, and the two were dressed to match. In photos posted online, Ye could be seen wearing an all-white outfit, while Censori had on the same colors. When it came to Censori’s outfit, she had on a plunging neckline dress that was quite boxy. Overall, it is pretty well in line with some of the other outfits that Censori has been rocking over the past few months.

NBA YoungBoy Taunts Finesse2tymes By Going At His Child’s Mother, He Responds

When NBA YoungBoy goes for other rappers through social media beef, there’s a dangerous chance that he’ll open up his shots to many more people in that target’s circle. That’s what’s happening right now to both Finesse2tymes and Real Boston Richey, also known as Boston Richey. They caught unorthodox shots from the “Catch Him” MC, with him posting a picture of Finesse’s child’s mother on his Instagram Story on Wednesday (April 10) that depicts her in pink lingerie and bunny ears. “I got that bag fr,” he captioned, and for another picture he posted of Richey’s girlfriend bending over in a car, he added a mountain emoji and a question mark as his caption, possibly an invite to his “Gravedigger Mountain” property.

Finesse2tymes wasted no time in responding to YoungBoy, although he deleted his Instagram posts about the matter shortly after. “Somebody tell @nba_youngboy u must forgot I’m from Memphis homie we aint tender #Making #Easy #Money #Pimpin #H*es #Is #Serious,” the “Fat Boy” spitter captioned a since-deleted post. “Tell him come on wit it,” he had captioned a repost of YB’s picture of his child’s mother on his Story. As for Boston Richey, he doesn’t seem to have addressed this as of writing this article.

In fact, he actually got some significantly more pressing and scandalous drama emerge surrounding his partner, as he had to speak on allegations that his girlfriend is underage. Still, this is a topic are that YoungBoy avoided altogether with these inciting posts, and we can’t know for sure how earnest or troll-based they are. Regardless, we’re sure that this could turn pretty ugly fast, as he’s known to be pretty unfiltered, blunt, and combative when he finds himself at odds with others in the game. All we can do is wait and see.

Finesse’s Since-Deleted Responses

Meanwhile, the Baton Rouge spitter is actually in another feud right now, as Kodak Black recently called him out for painting his nails.
