SZA Leads The Way With The Most Grammy Nominations, “Kill Bill” Nabs Song Of The Year Nod

SZA’s major 2023 is continuing with new recognition from the Grammys. Late last year she dropped her highly-anticipated new studio album SOS which instantly became a smash hit. The album sat on top of the Billboard 200 for weeks after it was released and spawned some of the singer’s biggest hits to date. Subsequently, her track “Kill Bill” took off immediately and lasted in the top of the charts for months including a week atop the Hot 100. As soon as its momentum began to slow down it was replaced in the top 5 of the chart by another single, “Snooze.”

Now, she’s at the very top of the list of Grammy nominees. She’s officially the most nominated artist at the 2024 Grammys, racking up a total of 9 nominations. Her nominations include Record Of The Year, Album Of The Year, Song Of The Year, Pop Duo Performance, R&B Performance, Traditional R&B Performance, R&B Song, Progressive R&B Album, and Melodic Rap Performance. In particular, she cleaned up nominations with her album SOS and her mega-hit “Kill Bill.

SZA Scores 9 2024 Grammy Nominations

Perhaps most notable of all her nominations is Song Of The Year. The nomination is for “Kill Bill” which has been quite an impressive critical darling. That’s on top of also being one of the biggest hits of the year. She’s joined by artists like Taylor Swift, Dua Lipa, Lana Del Rey, Olivia Rodrigo, Billie Eilish, and more in the list of nominees.

This isn’t the only critical recognition that SZA has received recently. Earlier this week, Variety honored the R&B star’s massive year. They awarded her the title of 2023 Hitmaker Of The Year. SZA has also been atop the Billboard R&B Songwriters Chart all year. Her series of hits in the wake of SOS have kept her at the top spot on the charts for over 50 weeks. What do you think of SZA leading all other artists in Grammy nominations? Let us know in the comment section below.

Here Is The Complete List Of 2024 Grammy Awards Nominations

grammy award trophy

The Grammy Awards, despite some past controversies, remain the biggest night in music. While that night is still some months away, today, we learn which artists and works will compete for the most prestigious awards in music.

Works published between October 1, 2022, and September 15, 2023, are eligible to for nomination, while rule changes mean that fewer artists/works will be nominated for the “Big Four” awards. There will, however, be new categories for emerging genres.

Another decision sure to bring controversy is that AI songs have been declared eligible — but only for songwriting awards. Now, that doesn’t mean that one will be nominated, although one was submitted. But stranger things have happened (like Beyoncé being snubbed for Album of the Year — twice!).

Recording Academy CEO Harvey Mason, Jr. made a statement to clear up confusion about AI after a public backlash from fans online, saying, “I take this [AI] stuff very seriously. It’s all complicated, and it’s moving really, really quickly. I’m sure things are going to continue to have to evolve and change. But please, please, do not be confused. The Academy is here to support and advocate and protect and represent human artists, and human creators, period.”

To find out who wins, you’ll have to wait until February 4, 2024, when the ceremony airs. For now, though:

NLE Choppa Called Out For Not Having Any Black Women In His New Video

Overnight, NLE Choppa released a new video to Instagram. While it seemed like a simple enough attempt at started a viral challenge, fans quickly noticed something about it. In the video, Choppa dances on top of a table while a few dozen scantily clad women walk in a line around the room on either side of him. In the caption he makes his intentions clear saying “#SPINCHALLENGE.” But almost all the top comments on the clip are honing in on the fact that no black women, in particular dark skin women are included in the clip.

“Where the DARKSKIN GIRLSSS,” one of the top comments on the post reads and looking at the video itself, it’s an accurate observation. “Y’all really hate black girl huh,” and “Not one dark girl in sight,” other comments agree. Choppa himself did come to his own defense, though it didn’t exactly win many people over. “Ask the person who invited them. I’m just here” he said in a comment responding to one of the fans complaining. That answer didn’t particularly change the minds of many fans in the comments. Check out the video and the reactions to it below.

Just a day later NLE Choppa explained himself online. “I appreciate y’all showing concern but the missing narrative isn’t cool, especially knowing that people really do go missing everyday. I took a little time to myself to get back to my roots, but trust I’m all good. Apologies to anyone that was worried. We don’t run from battles, we take em chin up. IM BACK. 2019Chop,” he said in an Instagram post. What do you think of NLE Choppa not including any black women in his new Spin Challenge video? Let us know in the comment section below.

Ice Spice Secures Best New Artist Nomination At The Grammys

Ice Spice has been one of the biggest newcomers in hip-hop over the past year. Overall, her track “Munch” has a lot to do with this. Of course, this is the song that ultimately catapulted her into superstardom. However, she has had plenty of other big hits since that time. For instance, she has done some songs with Nicki Minaj. Furthermore, she even got to feature on the remix to Taylor Swift’s track “Karma.” Needless to say, she has come through with a lot of great music, and fans have been loving it.

NBA YoungBoy’s “Decided 2” Album Preceded By Cryptic IG Message: “I Ain’t Got No F**king Friends Thug”

NBA YoungBoy’s 2023 album run has been one of the most impressive we’ve seen this year, but just because he’s putting out music consistently doesn’t mean it’s all roses and rainbows in the Louisana native’s life. Rather, the lyricist shared that he’s been feeling particularly isolated in an Instagram Story before his Decided 2 LP hit DSPs at midnight. The sole feature on the 18-track LP comes from Rod Wave on “Better Than Ever,” and interestingly, the 24-year-old noted before dropping that he’s feeling particularly lonely as of late.

“I ain’t got no f**king friends thug,” YB wrote over a black screen on Thursday (November 9) afternoon. “Y’all the ones got it twisted, ain’t nobody here for me when I’m OV. On Sherhonda, I’m gone die on this mountain I own b**ch,” the embattled artist wrote on his Story. “Before I call on you or brake – Top Ni**a,” he added. It’s unclear exactly what set NBA off this time, though it’s possible the ongoing accusations from one of his children’s mothers could have something to do with it.

According to Arcola, her co-parent had two women gang up on her during a visit to his house. “Watch who you have kids by,” the alleged victim wrote on Twitter along with a photo of her bloody face earlier this week. “My son’s dad let his wh**eS, yes wh**res with an s ’cause it was two of them weak a** h**s. He gave them an order to get me lol you know b**ches who never came from s**t gone do it. My son was in my hands. His dad just sat back and watched smh,” she added.

Many hip-hop heads are curious to hear what NBA YoungBoy has to say on his new Decided 2 album. However, ahead of that, the allegations from his baby mama have been taking over blogs and causing a stir throughout the industry. Keke Palmer Filed A Restraining Order Against Her Ex Darius Jackson Due To Alleged Domestic Violence

Standards” singer Keke Palmer has filed a restraining order against her ex, Darius Jackson. Unfortunately, things aren’t what they appear to be on the surface. According to US Weekly, yesterday (November 9), Palmed filed for a temporary restraining order and full custody against Jackson, alleging past domestic violence incidents. In stills shared online, dated February 13, 2022, Jackson appears to be aggressively grabbing Palmer.

Jackson’s brother, Insecure actor Sarunas Jackson, chimed in with a post online, writing, “The most disgusting, vile, abusive, manipulative persona I have EVER encountered. Y’all will see. Just send positive energy to the babies. Any child in the middle of something like this does not deserve it at all. Wow. So damn sad.” Sarunas later deleted his remarks.

In response, Palmer’s mother, Sharon, blasts him for not intervening. “I went to Sarunas over a year ago and told him that his brother was abusive to my daughter, and he said, ‘Well, I used to be like that too.’ So now he’s posting on Twitter like he’s this special guy when we know he’s the biggest f*ckboy in Hollywood; he’s disrespectful to women just like his brother,” alleged Sharon.

Palmer lived under the public’s watchful eyes for over fifteen years. In the last few years alone, onlookers have had a front-row seat to her blossoming into womanhood. In December 2022, she revealed her pregnancy with her and her then-boyfriend Darius Jackson’s first child on Saturday Night Live. Stars such as Nicki Minaj welcomed her into motherhood with open arms.

The couple began dating in 2021. They welcomed their son, Leodis Andrellton Jackson, in February 2023. But by the summer of 2023, rumors began circulating that the pair had faced some difficulties in their relationship, causing them to split. The strain spilled over to social media in July when Jackson took to X (formerly Twitter) to criticize Palmer for her behavior and wardrobe while attending Usher’s Las Vegas residency.

Chrisean Rock Reveals Iced Out Pacifier Chain For Chrisean Jr.

Chrisean Rock sure does love her newborn son Chrisean Jr. Overall, there has been a lot of drama over this child in the last few months. This makes sense when you consider how Blueface and Chrisean have been fighting for a very long time at this point. They were in a dysfunctional relationship that appears to still be ongoing. Sure, Blue is now with Jaidyn Alexis. However, as Chrisean has alleged, she is still out here having sex with the rapper. It is a bizarre situation, but they do not seem to be keen on changing that.

At this stage, Chrisean Rock does seem focused on taking care of her child. While there have been some miscues along the way, you cannot deny her love of Junior. In fact, while going on Instagram recently, she showcased the ice she copped for the child. Below, you can see a video of a new pacifier chain. This chain features a unique look to it and it even has Chrisean Jr. written on the inside. A pacifier chain is definitely new, and we aren’t exactly sure the child can even appreciate it yet.

Chrisean Rock Flexes

Chrisean is someone who has a lot of iced-out jewelry already. In the video clip, you can see plenty of her other pieces that she may wear on any given day. Overall, she probably got a lot of this taste from Blueface, who is also known for his various chains and diamonds. Unfortunately, by the time Junior can appreciate this, he will no longer be a baby and won’t care for the pacifier aesthetic. Regardless, Chrisean is doing her thing.

Let us know what you think of this diamond chain, in the comments section below. Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for the latest news and updates from around the music world. We will always be sure to keep you informed on all of your favorite artists.
