Latto’s Atlanta United Appearance Gets The Crowd Riled Up

Atlanta United absolutely destroyed a Messi-less Inter Miami 5-2 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. However, the result was quickly forgotten thanks to the home team’s guest of honor. Latto was in Atlanta for the star-studded matchup. The Columbus rapper was dressed in an Atlanta jersey and Daisy Dukes and hyped up the raucous crowd of diehard fans. She led the fans in various chants throughout the game. Her presence appeared to really get the crowd going.

With the win, Atlanta United solidified their position in the MLS Eastern Conference. They currently have 45 points and hold sixth position, with a seventh overall position in the Supporters Cup standings. Meanwhile, the loss ended Miami’s hot start to their Messi era. The team has won three of their last four games and rocketed up the standings. However, with Messi sidelined amid some somewhat concerning availability issues, Miami were thoroughly beaten.

Latto Beefs With Coi Leray…Again

Meanwhile, away from Atlanta, Latto had some Boston beef. On the “Peaches & Eggplants” remix, Latto dropped a bar about former journalist and music industry icon Benzino (“give me that neck like Benzino, give me that neck like, ‘where it go?’”). Given that Benzino is Coi Leray’s father, Leray took it as another slight in their ongoing beef. “If you need to go viral, just mention my name. It works every time [kissing emojis]. enjoy !” Leray wrote on Twitter. The two rappers have been beefing on and off over the year.

Meanwhile, Leray and her father bonded over the beef. Their relationship has been rocky over the years but this appeared to be a bonding moment for them. “She admires u. They all do. Just stay focused,” Benzino told his daughter. Furthermore, he added that he has “the most famous neck on Earth.” Leray was quick to note how these things keep bringing them together. “I love how these lil stupid situations bring us together haha on positive note! Hope you having a good day I love you.”

Yo Gotti Says MLS Ownership “Shows What We’re Trying To Do As Young Hustlers”

Yo Gotti has owned the MLS’ DC United September 2021. “As we continue to evolve, we are confident that the expanded ownership group will help us to further engage our fanbase – both existing and new, create additional forms of entertainment, and ultimately deliver a pathway for success for our club both on the pitch and in the community.” Co-chairman Steve Kaplan said at the time of Gotti’s takeover.

DC United is one the founding clubs of the MLS when the league launched way back in 1994. Since then, they’ve won four MLS Cups, last winning the league in 2004. They have earned three Supporter’s Shields for best regular season performance, most recently in 2007. However, the club has been in something of a doldrum in recent years. They haven’t reached the playoffs in the last three years and haven’t progressed past the first round since 2015. In 2022, they were quite literally the league’s worst team. However, Gotti has great faith in his mission with the team.

Yo Gotti Speaks On MLS Ownership

“It was a few years ago when I joined the club as an owner, part of the ownership club. I think diversifying growth as an entrepreneur, I mean, whoever thought we would own part of a professional sports team?” Gotti told Ebro Darden of Apple Music. “I try to show to the young guys in my city by action, what we can do and what we can become if we stay determined and disciplined and on top of what we’re trying to do as young hustlers and entrepreneurs.” He also recently teamed up with the First Lady to promote the 2023 All-Star Game.

So far, 2023 has been a better season for DC United. They currently hold the last playoff spot in the East with an 8-10-6 record and 30 points. However, the next four clubs beneath them are all within one win (3 points) of tying or surpassing United. They are currently led in scoring by Christian Benteke, the Belgian international they signed from Crystal Palace last year. He currently has eight goals this season.

One more user on Twitter compared Harlow to Eminem and Justin Timberlake. “Jack Harlow is a experiment to see how easily it would be to for white people to infiltrate, manipulate, and even be praised by the black community,” they wrote in their tweet. “We let them slide with Justin Timberlake and Eminem and now we are being punished for our ignorance…”

The recent photos come just months after the release of Harlow’s latest project. The Louisville native dropped his third studio album, Jackman, to mixed reviews back in April. In doing so, he worked with several producers including FnZ, DJ Dahi, Coop the Troop, Boi-1da, and more. The project included no features and released with minimal prior promotion.

Lionel Messi Reportedly Joining Inter Miami

The future of soccer superstar Lionel Messi has been the subject of much debate in recent months. Despite joining French giants PSG in 2021, Messi has never seemed to feel at home in Ligue 1. Despite winning the league in his first season, Messi appeared unhappy with his performance and vowed to improve. While the 2022/23 campaign brought another league title, things were falling apart behind the scenes.

Messi appeared unhappy at the club and that began to boil over into public view during and after the World Cup. First, there was Argentina’s shock World Cup loss to Saudi Arabia. People were quick to note that Messi is a very vocal brand ambassador for Saudi Arabia. However, the straw that broke the camel was an unsanctioned in-season trip Messi took to the nation. Messi was officially released on June 3.

Messi To Choose Inter Miami

Three primary candidates stood out as Messi’s next destination. First, there was the possibility of a return to Barcelona, where Messi played between 2003 and 2021. Then there was a move to Saudi Arabian side Al Hilal, which would see Messi follow in the footsteps of Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema. Finally, there were reports that Messi could be joining Inter Miami, the Florida-based team owned by David Beckham.

Al Hilal appeared to be the frontrunner after making an initial offer to Messi in April. Various numbers were floated, with some going as high as $436 million a year. Elsewhere, a Barcelona reunion seemed unlikely due to the club’s mounting financial problems. However, a new report suggests that Inter Miami is now the likely destination for Messi. the BBC first reported the news but at this time Inter Miami has declined comment. Despite this, ESPN has reported that sources within the Al Hilal camp expect Messi to take his talents to the MLS. This is a developing story and we’ll have any updates here at HotNewHipHop.

Drake’s OVO And The MLS Collaboration Aims To ‘Bridge The Gap’ Between Soccer And Street Culture

Drake has found another way to profit off his love of sports. The collaboration between the “Search And Rescue” rapper’s OVO (October’s Very Own) record label and the Major League Soccer (MLS) is now available to the general public.

The limited-edition capsule merchandise collection pays homage to three league teams. Toronto Football Club, New York City Football Club, and Los Angeles Football Club’s signature colors (red, sky blue, and black) are featured across the athleisure garments. The range of hoodies, tees, sweatshorts, and socks will predominately feature the label’s unique owl logo and distinct font type.

In a statement, the organization spoke in greater detail as to why the Cartoon was selected for the collaboration, saying, “Cartoon began his career as a LA graffiti artist before branching into murals, album covers, logos, and now most famously known for his tattoos. His richly detailed, hand-rendered designs pull much of their inspiration from the Los Angeles of Cartoon’s youth. At one time, the black and grey, fine line style was synonymous with LA street life, and Cartoon’s work has helped bridge the gap between those hardscrabble beginnings and the style’s current global popularity.”

The new MLS x OVO capsule is available now online. However, the items will be made available in person at the BMO Field for Toronto FC fans. Find more information here.

MLS and October’s Very Own have partnered to release a limited-edition capsule collection that was created in conjunction with the artist Mister Cartoon.

In this collaboration, three significant MLS markets—Toronto, New York, and Los Angeles—honor street culture. OVO collaborated with the famous artist Mister Cartoon to create original artwork for each item to tell that story.

Cartoon’s career as a graffiti artist in Los Angeles began before he moved on to murals, record covers, logos, and is currently most well-known for his tattoos. His intricate, hand-rendered drawings are heavily influenced by the Los Angeles of Cartoon’s formative years. The black and grey, fine line style was once associated with LA’s street culture, and Cartoon’s work has contributed to bridging the gap between the style’s humble beginnings and its current global ubiquity.

This limited-edition capsule collection features t-shirts, hoodies and sweat shorts for Major League Soccer clubs, Toronto FC, LAFC and New York City FC.

The collection can be seen below and can be purchased now at octobersveryown.com.

Kanye West Took A Break From Working On ‘Donda’ To Hang Out With The Atlanta United Crowd

Kanye West’s next album, Donda, is on its way. West, who held a highly anticipated listening party for the still yet to be completed album in Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium late last week, has been holed up at the home of the Atlanta Falcons and Atlanta United working on it ever since, with a new target release date of August 6.

What is making this album process even more fascinating is that he’s seemingly commandeered a room in the stadium to continue working on it, even while events are ongoing. On Saturday, Ye’s stay at the Benz overlapped with Atlanta United playing host to the Columbus Crew, so he decided to take a stroll around the stadium and hang out with Atlanta United supporters during the game, posting videos of his afternoon taking in some MLS action on Instagram.

As many have pointed out, Kanye appears to be wearing the same thing he was for the album listening party, as maybe even he wasn’t prepared for this long of a stay at the stadium.

Naturally every other comment on his video is some form of “drop the album,” but it is pretty funny that while the world is watching for info on the much-anticipated release, he’s just out here posting videos of fans chanting at a soccer game with no commentary of his own. It’s great pub for Atlanta United, if nothing else, and it’s good to see Kanye taking a little break from a long day in his makeshift studio to take in some soccer.
