R. Kelly’s Latest $500K Royalty Check to Pay Off Current Restitution Bill

R. Kelly's Lawyer

R. Kelly will soon be wrapped up with his current restitution bill. Following his high profile criminal cases, Kelly still owed $506,950.26 to his victims. His next royalty check will cover the bill.

According to TMZ, Universal Music Group’s upcoming payout to R. Kelly would be 567,444.19, more than enough to cover his remaining bill. Before the remainder would make its way elsewhere, UMG will now direct a check to his restitution.

Last month, R. Kelly called out his longtime friend being blocked from visiting him at FCI Butner prison. Kelly states his friend and former business manager Derrel McDavid attempted to visit him, but the warden would not allow it.

McDavid was a co-defendant with R. Kelly in his Illinois criminal case. The charge they jointly faced was dismissed.

According to Radar Online, McDavid was accused of coordinating hush money payments before the 2008 trial.

A motion filed in court reads, “Mr. McDavid and Mr. Kelly have maintained a longstanding friendship and business relationship spanning decades before Mr. Kelly’s incarceration.”

The warden declined the visit stating McDavid was a co-defendant. Representatives for Kelly added, “FCI Butner’s denial of visitation was inconsistent with Bureau of Prison (“BOP”) regulations and policies, patently unreasonable, and advanced no legitimate penological interest.”

He added, “FCI Butner’s determination is patently unreasonable, capricious, and inconsistent with the directives and policies of the federal regulations. There is absolutely no risk—let alone a reasonable one—that a visitation by Mr. McDavid would create a threat to the security and good order of the FCI Butner.”

Previously, audio from prison has R. Kelly referencing the harsh conditions of his prison. In the audio, Kelly stated he deserves to die of natural causes. The singer is reportedly battling blood clots in his legs.

“I don’t deserve to die because somebody miscommunicated or somebody took a guess at what’s going on with my leg. I’m not supposed to die this way,” R. Kelly said. “You’re not even supposed to take a chance on that.”

He added, “And that’s why I’m speaking out on this because I’m scared for my life in that area. And who wouldn’t be? They treat animals better than that.”

One of R. Kelly’s victims, Faith Rodgers, who accused the singer of failing to disclose a sexually transmitted disease before sleeping with her, is demanding the jailed singer turn over medical information. Back in 2018, Rodgers sued the convicted singer in New York court. In her lawsuit, Rodgers said she met Kelly in 2017 after one of his shows in Texas. She was 19-years old at the time.

According to court documents obtained by RadarOnline.com, Rogers, who sued Kelly in 2018, asked a judge to help her obtain the information.

The victim wants Kelly to answer questions under oath about the date they met and how often they engaged in sexual relations. Further, she wants him to turn over a list of any financial institutions he has accounts in.

Rodgers also wants him to make a list of all credit cards he used from 2017 to 2019. The victim’s list of demands asks Kelly to state all the names of any medical professionals he used, state each and every hospital or clinic that he was a patient of from January 2017 to January 2019.

Further, she asked Kelly to admit he failed to tell her about his STD before having sex with her and that he forced her to engage in sexual acts without her consent.

Amanda Bynes Seen For First Time Since Checking Into Mental Health Center

Actress Amanda Bynes has been spotted in public for the first time since checking into a mental health center in July. Bynes voluntarily entered the inpatient center in Orange County. She did so stating she needed a therapeutic place to live that also provided more help than a standard outpatient facility. However, sources told TMZ that Bynes has graduated to the center’s minimal supervision program. This means that she is allowed to leave the center at certain times.

This led to a source spotting her at a strip mall in Orange County. She was seen making purchases from a smoke shop and a supermarket. This is a major part of the minimal supervision program, providing inpatient care while allowing patients the ability to work and live independently to a degree. The source who spotted Bynes told TMZ that the former child star was alone but appeared in good spirits. She was spotted around 6:30PM on August 18.

Bynes Likes Inpatient Program

Additionally, a source spoke to TMZ about the progress that Bynes has been making. Reportedly, the former Nickelodeon star enjoys life at the facility, finding some comfort in the ability to easily socialize with staff and patients, rather than being isolated in her private apartment. Additionally, she plans to remain at the center for the foreseeable future as she continues to work on her mental health.

The semi-autonomy for Bynes is a welcome change after a rough start to 2023. Bynes has been placed on psychiatric holds twice this year. In the first case, she was detained after flagging down a motorist in LA. Bynes, who was naked, informed the driver that she had suffered a psychotic episode. Subsequently, she asked for emergency services to be called. More recently, she was placed on a second hold in June after police responded to calls about a woman in distress. Once again, Bynes was taken into custody despite likely being the one who alerted authorities. This remains a developing story and we’ll have any updates as and when they emerge.

Sheriff Resigns After Groping Judge Hatchett: Receives One Year Probation

judge

Last year Bleckley County Sheriff Kris Coody was charged with sexual battery after grouping Judge Glenda Hatchett at a sheriffs convention.

According to reports Kris Coody pled guilty to a misdemeanor charge of sexual battery and was given one year of probation, a $500 fine, and sentenced to 400 hours of community service. Coody was also sentenced to a psychosexual evaluation and alcohol and drug course. The six year vet submitted his resignation after his guilty plea.

Channel 2′s Cobb County Bureau Chief Michele Newell spoke to Thomas Brown, the former sheriff of DeKalb County, who is listed as a witness to the incident.

Brown said he’s not just a witness, but had to physically intervene.

Brown said that remembering that day brings back many unsettling feelings.

He also said that Hatchett was his guest at the conference, and that Coody groped Hatchett as he was introducing her to sheriffs at the Renaissance Atlanta Waverly Bar.

Brown said three sheriffs came to the standup table, including Coody and the president of the Georgia Sheriff’s Association. Brown said he turned his head away from Coody and Hatchett as they were talking.

“As I turned to my left to focus back on the two of them, I saw his hand go down on her left breast,” Brown said. “I grabbed his arm threw it off of her chest and basically said, ‘What are you (adjective) think you’re doing?’ and that’s basically where it ended.”

This is a demon he has to overcome on his own.
At this point I really believe it’s too late. To summarize last night event. I asked Richard to quiet down as he scared the baby sleeping by yelling playing call of duty. He started going off on me for asking him to be quiet. I tried to collect a bag so my daughter and I can go to a room while he sobers up. He didn’t want us to leave and things went left fast. He was arrested last night, the weapon is in police custody. I have a restraining order, my daughter is in my custody and I am filing for divorce. He will never get the chance to disrespect us again. Thank you all for the well wishes and prayers. This is a very traumatizing experience please keep me in your prayers.

Casanova Equates Loneliness and Comfort in New Message from Jail

Screen Shot 2023 07 10 at 7.41.35 AM

Casanova has released a new message from jail. Hitting X, the jailed rapper wrote: “I am terrified of how loneliness brings em a twisted kind of comfort.”

Casanova is behind bars, serving a 15-year sentence in a court case that labeled the rapper as a “high-profile leader of a vicious street gang.” Giving an update on Casanova’s condition is Slowbucks, who shared a Facetime to his Instagram Stories.

“Don’t believe the hype,” Slowbucks wrote, HipHopDX notes. “My guy in great standards and in great spirits. Free @bigcasanova_2x.”

Casanova has officially been sentenced and now his legal team has officially filed an appeal. The Brooklyn rapper was viciously slashed across his face right before sentencing and his lawyer feels jail is not safe for him following his denouncement of the Gorilla Stone Nation gang.

According to HotNewHipHop, Casanova’s lawyer James Kousouros mentioned that because the Brooklyn rapper (real name Caswell Senior) denounced his formal ties to the Gorilla Stone Nation gang, his sentence should be reduced.

“The fact is that Mr. Senior stayed in this gang as it furthered his rap career,” Casanova’s lawyers said. “As he gained moderate success and then a recording contract with Roc Nation, he increasingly separated himself from the gang’s activities despite remaining a member.”

Casanova received 188 months or 15 years behind bars on June 27 from U.S. District Judge Philip M. Halpern. Included in the crimes he’s accused of are a shooting in Florida on July 5, 2020, a robbery in New York City on August 5, 2018 and conspiracy to traffic over 100 kilograms of marijuana.

“Caswell Senior is not just a notorious recording artist, but he is also a high-profile leader of a vicious street gang and a magnet for gang violence,” U.S. Attorney Damian Williams said in a press release at the time. “At a crowded Miami house party, Senior personally fired a gun that seriously injured and could have killed a victim, inciting a shootout.”

He continued: “Further, Senior’s stature in the community was central to Gorilla Stone’s successful recruitment and nationwide expansion. Today’s sentencing — along with the other significant sentences that have been imposed in this case — shows once again that gang life is not worth it and will lead to many years in prison.”

Casanova was the 12th defendant in the Gorilla Stone case to have been sentenced. Five more defendants have pled guilty and are awaiting sentencing.

After he received the sentence he took to to Twitter and issued a short message, saying, “Everything to the chin, Nothing to the heart. I GET IT NOW. I hope that don’t go over ya heads.”

Prior to his sentencing, Cas was assaulted in a bloody prison altercation that took place at Essex County Correctional Facility in Newark, New Jersey in early June.

Georgia Teacher Fired for Reading Gender Identity Book To Fifth-Grade Students

book

A Georgia teacher was fired for reading a book about gender identity to her fifth-grade class.

The Cobb County School Board voted 4-3 on Thursday night to fire fifth-grade teacher Katie Rinderle over the book “My Shadow is Purple” which she purchased at the school’s book fair.

Rinderle had been on paid leave until the school board made its decision. Her dismissal is effective immediately, 11 Alive News reported.

Rinderle read the book to her fifth-grade students, ages 9 and 10, at Due West Elementary school in March.

She said her students chose the book from several options for her to read – even though they are old enough to read.

“My Shadow is Purple” features a non-binary boy character whose “shadow” wears a dress. The book focuses on challenging society’s gender norms.

After reading to her class, Rinderle and the students discussed the book’s subject.

“That’s what our conversation was really focusing on … the power of not only embracing your unique differences and abilities, but then valuing those in others and learning from those,” Rinderle said in a video from the Southern Poverty Law Center.

Less than a month after giving her students an assignment on gender identity, a parent complained to the Cobb County School District.

The school district said her choice of book violated Georgia’s Divisive Concepts Law, which was passed in 2022. The law gives parents more control over what’s taught in the classroom.

Rinderle’s attorney, Craig Goodmark, said teachers statewide don’t know what’s legal under the new law.

“The legislature has teachers in fear for their jobs, they don’t know what they can say and what they can’t say,” he told 11 Alive News.

“It’s impossible for a teacher to know what’s in the minds of parents when she starts her lesson,” he added.

“And for parents to be able, with a political agenda from outside the classroom, to come in and have a teacher fired, is simply unfair, it’s not right, and it’s terrible for Georgia’s education system.”

Rinderle’s termination hearing was held on Aug. 10. A disciplinary panel recommended that she keep her job. But the Cobb County School District rejected their recommendation, according to Fox 5 News.

Goodmark said he and a teacher’s union will consider appealing the termination and/or filing a wrongful termination lawsuit.

He added that Rinderle’s teacher’s license is not affected and she could go to work for another school district.

Russell Simmons Posts Sweet Throwback Video With Daughter Ming

Screen Shot 2023 08 16 at 10.52.45 AM

This weekend music mogul Russell Simmons reminisced on social media sharing an old video of himself and Ming during happier times. Family drama ensued when Ming, who is his eldest daughter wished Kimora a Happy Father’s In a subtle message to his daughter he posted to his instagram:

“When Times are tough smile and breathe keep your head up yogis,” he captioned the clip. “Gods got you again like he had u last time.”

Following Ming’s Father’s day post. Simmons took to his story posting a meme that read: “Stop telling fathers they should have fought harder to see their children and start asking mothers why he had to fight at all.”

Kimora took to Instagram Live to defend her daughter and then their youngest daughter Aoki then joined in. Aoki shared messages from her father and a muted video where he appeared to be screaming at her on FaceTime.

According to Aoki, she and her family have exhausted all options trying to repair the relationship with the music mogul and they feel he may have a mental health issue.

“My father is not well, for years, he needs help and won’t accept that he refuses to acknowledge he is not himself,” she wrote in a post on Instagram. “He has threatened and bullied my sister, my grandma, he has harassed my grandma in the middle of the night in poor health, send a man to my sisters apt at 2am to scare her.”

She continued: “He lashes out at ANYONE who does not say ‘oh Russell everything is fine.’ Well it’s not fine. If I ‘never get a fashion job again’ like he threatens, I’ll be a lawyer I guess and work in criminal justice. Sure I love my job but if he takes it away from me I won’t die. You don’t threaten my sister and grandma and mother and say ‘who’s gonna believe you I’m Russell Simmons nobody thinks I’m crazy’ well he is.”

Was YouTube Star Lil Tay’s Death A Hoax?

tay2

Was Lil Tay’s death announcement a hoax?

After the shocking news of YouTuber-rapper Lil Tay’s death and her brother Jason Tian, an Instagram account – termanii, claiming to be Jason- has now added that the siblings are still alive.

Yesterday the page of the viral Instagram star posted that the teen passed away. The 14-year-old allegedly updated her Instagram page on Wednesday evening revealing she and her brother are not dead and that her parents are ‘sick people’.

The page posted:

“We are not dead me and my brother had everything taken from us please repost and get this out there my parents are sick people.”

tay

Her brother also updated an Instagram page with a similar message. Neither Los Angeles nor Vancouver, Canada police have any record of her passing.

News of the viral star’s “sudden and tragic” death was posted on her Instagram page on Wednesday. But social media users questioned whether it was a hoax.

The statement read:
“It is with a heavy heart that we share the devastating news of our beloved Claire’s sudden and tragic passing. We have no words to express the unbearable loss and indescribable pain. This outcome was entirely unexpected, and has left us all in shock. Her brother’s passing adds an even more unimaginable depth to our grief.”

The post also revealed that her 21-year-old brother Jason Tian had passed away. No cause of death was given.

The statement said both deaths are “still under investigation.” But police in California, where Tay lives, and Canada, where her father lives, have no record of either deaths.

A social media user claims he witnessed them die in a car crash, according to The Mail.

Tay’s former manager Harry Tsang has since said he “cannot definitively confirm or dismiss the legitimacy of the statement,” according to The Mail.

The aspiring rapper, whose real name is Claire Hope, was best known for her fake Internet persona as a trust fund kid with access to lavish penthouses, luxury cars, and private jets.
A Canadian blog busted her as a fraud in 2018 before her mother, a real estate agent named Angela, was fired for giving Lil Tay access to vacant penthouses to shoot videos.

Viral YouTube star and aspiring rapper Claire Hope, aka Lil Tay, died suddenly at age 14, according to a message posted on her Instagram account.

“It is with a heavy heart that we share the devastating news of our beloved Claire’s sudden and tragic passing. We have no words to express the unbearable loss and indescribable pain. This outcome was entirely unexpected, and has left us all in shock.

The statement mentioned Claire’s brother also passed away and his death “adds an even more unimaginable depth to our grief.” Both of their deaths are under investigation.

Lil Tay went viral in 2018 at age 11 by pretending to be a millionaire trust fund kid living in million-dollar penthouses.

She was dubbed “InstaBrat” on Instagram where she flaunted cash and luxury cars. She gained over 3 million Instagram followers.

But Lil Tay was busted when a Vancouver, Canada blog broke the story that Lil Tay was a fraud.

Her mom, a real estate agent named Angela, was fired after her employer saw Lil Tay yelling profanities in a penthouse that was supposed to be vacant and listed for sale on Realtor.com.

As a real estate agent, Lil Tay’s mom had access to high end vacant properties that she didn’t own.

“There is no place for this sort of activity in our industry. Angela has only been a realtor with our brokerage firm for only six months,” the agency told Dailyhive.com.

Tay’s first Instagram account was deleted in 2018. She returned to Instagram to pay tribute to slain rapper Xxxtentacion, making his picture her profile icon.
